Suggestion for next firmware update - Nokia 5800

If anyone from nokia is reading this in the next firmware update for the Nokia 5800 XM can we have the facility of have the name of the title track of a song scroll from left to right whilst the song is playing, as at the moment it scrolls once and then stops so if its a song with a long title all you can see is just half the title after its scrolled once, and also maybe a way as the song is playing of seeing the details of the song playing (like the tags for artist, Kbps, song title, album name) by clicking the onscreen softkey/options button. And also this can be extended to the contacts list where the name will scroll from left to right to show the full contact name when you press on it, at the moment it doesn't do that.

Unfortunately the care centres are the only people that can help you.
Any other methods that you may read about on other forums will void your warranty and cannot be discussed here.

anyone know when Apple will release the next firmware update? got my phone for like a month now (i did 1.1.1) and all these safari crashes, bad password timer.. and like soo many bugs.
and yeah anyone know how to Empty trash in Mail? or you are just suppose to delete it twice? I did the option clear mail after one day but it never delete anything after like a week.. and yeah i guess that's a bug too.
so when's the Next fireware update?

It does work. Deletion takes place based on 24 hours after the initial deletion was initiated by the user.
Go to:
Settings > Mail > (mail account name) > Advanced > Remove >
select either
(Never/After one day/After one week/After one month
Your mail will be deleted automatically based on the selection. No more having to delete an email twice.

Next Firmware Update For Nokia 6303 classic Featur...

A. Software features should be Hardware based not to Nokia Legacy as if 3.2 Megapixels Camera works like 6233's 2 Megapixels camera. In Nokia 5800 camera is just 3.2 Megapixels but the capabilities are fine, if Nokia has no logic to upgrade the Software for its legacy then why do Nokia has to upgrade the Hardware in Legacy Nokia Operating System? Like in case of 6303.
B. Video Editor should be there in new update. A nice feature for creativity.
C. .mp4 should be supported by the Recording Video Option and should be 640x480 @30fps. Why not if 6303 can play .mp4 but would not record, is there any logic even the Camera CMOS is 3.2 Megapixels?
D. Lights Effect is a very good feature of 6303 and in my opinion it would be updated as another possibility to select it as Breather Light Effect such as Nokia 5800 XM, due to Silent Profile activated Handset Location assistance facility. User can find the set easily rather making a miss call to find out where the set is?
E. 15 fps is not sufficient to play smoothly in PC or convert the Movie in any Application to play it in SETTOP Box or General DVD Players. it should be @30 fps to play in PC or after convertion in DVD player.
F. Photo Editor should be included in Next Update as its not a justification to the Hardware rendered Engine limited by Firmware to edit the Photo and you get the jeggy .png. is not a joke performed in 6303?
G. SMS writing Window space should be enhanced to accomodate the full Text Window so that a user can review easily in one Window operation not by scrolling again and again as now available in 6303.
H. Display Brightness feature should be added to facilitate the user choice as the Hardware is supported in 6303's 16.7 M color LCD.
I. 3D Ringing tone effects should be added and the Volume of Startup Tone should be increased to its optimal, in recent Firmware it is very low.
J. SMS alert tone selection plays the tone in Level one Sound volume though the selected level is Five bar. it should be corrected in Future update.
K. Smart selection of To (address field) in Messaging by converting the Input as Numeric for Text Message and Alphanumeric for MMS. In recent Firmware it is Alphanumeric by default for SMS as well as MMS, which is annoying for SMS Sending.
L. Messages save in Memory Card or Phone Memory, option should be added.
M. It would be a bonus if .wmv .dvx .mov video formats are supported by next firmware in both situations like Recording option and Playing formats support.
Kindly notice NOKIA:
that by performing all above mentioned enhancements for 6303 classic, The 6303 classic would not become an N series or Touch considered Handset but it would justify its Hardware Capabilities selected by its manufacturer.
Its better to be legacy oriented NOKIA but the NOKIA OS legacy should be parallel with latest trends and Hardware based.
Its a good time to make better decisions towards connecting people with Modern Communications.

Isn't this the same as setting "light Effects=On" in the settings? Mine "breathes" away happily after a missed call.

Where are you adjusting this? I can only adjust ringtone volume not SMS alert tones....

Next Firmware update of 5800XM can contain ... ?(p...

Firmware update after V 51.0.006:
the following improvements can be added:
1. The physical key (call,end call , menu and shortcut bar key) LIGHTS can be TURNED OFF while video play back and also while slide show mode.. This could save a lot a of POWER while watching long videos.
2. Irregular vibration during locking and unlocking use the lock key needs to be corrected.
3. While the phone is plugged to PC in memory card mode and then unplugged, after which in messaging it says " memory not accessible switching to phone memory " and again have to manually change the memory in use back to memory card .. Big bug .
4. In messaging while changing the phone memory to memory card mode after the 1st time it does not ask if to copy the phone messages to memory card anymore hence copying is not possible .. Another bug to be corrected.
5. Improved performance in terms of speed and smooth operation.
6. Few more home screen themes can be included with widget support.
Hope these suggestions could be heard by the developers ..

Firmware update would be great.

Any news on the next firmware update for E72?

Currently version: 031.023 - this is by far the worst update on any of the Nokia phones I have seen! Sick and tired of the phone hanging and having to restart at least 2 times on a given day.
So, any idea when there's goanna be an update? OR Is there going to be an update or not, now that Symbian is more or less dead?!!
Things I have tried: Hard reset, using the phone without the memory card, without any apps - none of this has helped!
Phone hangs all of a sudden.
Typical way to know when the phone's gonna hang next is the disappearance of the clock!
This is driving me nuts. Paid so much money for this shi**y phone. Hardware specs are great, but if you aren't able to use them properly, what's the effin' point, really?
Give me a STABLE software update (Nokia) and I'll be the happiest guy for another year without any thoughts of changing my phone!
I am already considering on buying a phone which can do its job efficiently without having to restart the damn phone a million times!

What I would like to see to in the next firmware update

1. Smooth transfer between hot spots.
2. Option to choose which network interface to use, now it doesn't let you to choose between WiFi network and EDGE, its just switch to WiFi if it is available, so you have to turn off WiFi, not really convenient.
3. Gmail works strange with mail client, he puts all messages in inbox that were send from computer. Really strange.
4. iPhone without IM it is stupid idea, I can't imagine this to work out, of course I use 3rd party application Apollo that brings IM functionality to iPhone. Apple should do something about it in the near future or open OS X to 3rd party developers legally.
5. Bring clipboard to iPhone, it is something that everyone need and will say thank you.
6. SIP client would be good, but I guess I'm asking too much already.
7. Forgot to say about 3rd party application Sketches, really cool application that everyone need, Apple really need to think about to bring this guys to Apple iPhone software developers group.

A suggestion for next 5800XM firmware update

I hear all the time people wants widgets on their homescreen. i'm not sure if this the waht i really miss there.
instead i will be much more happy if i could have the contact bar above (and more than 4 contacts, at least 6-7 which we could roll left/right), and under this bar should be the application bar (and again, more than 4, which we could roll).
under both should be the google search (which is great), and the tasks/notes, which is my most important feature on the phone.
and how it all should work?
i want to see a full desktop when i start my phone, and when i choose my contact the other tasks/apps dissappear from the screen (or being transparent).
i don't understand why i have to choose between contacts and apps, and most of the time they both don't take advantage 5800's hugh screen (by leaving large spaces unused).
but if we could see a Facebook widget or a normal weather widget on the next firmware update, it could be nice (but less necessary) ...

that is a nice idea you have there, but one must think about how practical all these changes and additions will be. if one must have, lets say 6 contact icons next to each other in one row, the icons would have to be small in order for them to fit in nicely. i do notice that the way you have imagined the new home screen is much like the old S60 3rd edition, but do note that the 3rd edition was not touch screen. there are many people who wish different things for certain handsets, mine would be that the 5800XM should have a more windows vista feel to it, with option lists and screen appearing and dissapearing into the screen as though it was another layer on top of the previous page.
you must also remember that the S60 5th edition on the 5800XM is the a new version of the software, being added on the first Nokia touchscreen smart phone, so there are still many things Nokia has to learn from the 5800XM "test" phone.
hopefully our ideas will be seen in the new future.

I was wondering when is the next firmware update for N-71 EMEA is due. I see you guys released an APAC version 3.0620.1.25 , but when will Europe be able to upgrade from 2.0613.1.121?

2.1 firmware update listed signal strength display fix in its release notes

Summary to those who haven't read Apple's latest letter to iPhone 4 owners:
Apple is saying 'death grip' only affects the graphics of the signal strength not signal itself. Who accepts that? And will therefore fix this in the next firmware update.
But wait! This seems to be fixed in the 2.1 firmware update already!

Next firmware for To

There is one thing that has really bugged me about the Zen touch's firmware. I owned an iPod but returned it cause I didn't enjoy it's batterylife, but one thing it had that the Zen doesn't have is when playing music from an album, it plays by track numbers where as the Zen plays in Alphabetical order.
Please Creative, fix this with the next firmware update.
Anyone else want this?

I ripped my CDs in WMP0 and included the track number when ripping. All my albums play in track order in the ZT. You might have to update your ID3 tags on your files, but others might be able to provide a more focused action plan.

Phone Firmware Updates

I have looked at the page, and haven't been able to locate anything about firmware updates.
Basically, what I am looking for is find something regarding the next firmware updates. Specifically, what functionality is apple working on adding into the iPhone? (MMS, copy & paste)...?
Also, where is there somewhere PUBLIC, and STICKIED that iPhone users can REQUEST such upgrades to these devices.
I have seen such threads at other forums, yet I am not able to find one here. (perhaps I just missed it).
I love my iPhone, but hate the functionally, I can't copy & paste, can't send/recieve MMS, can't forward a text, etc. etc. etc...... the list goes on...

Its true, I didn't, no where was it mentioned either when I saw their ad that they would not allow something so rudimentary as copy and paste , something that's been around since the 80's I think, how could one suspect this. That's not exactly my fault, nor would it have been my fault if for example their keyboard didn't have, lets say, a space bar. After using a couple of other similar pda/phones (not the blackberry) that allowed so many things that apple didn't, how can anyone imagine the iphone would be lacking such obviously needed things. The thing that attracted me to the iphone was the screen size, maps, and supposed speedy internet. Anyway, I'm waiting on this new Nokia 5800, I think that's the model. The new google phone looks good also but we'll see. All I know is, as is, the iphone is not for me and I haven't been recommending it to anyone. Its funny to see people squinting when trying to explain that the phone can't copy and paste, and that if you want to bring some docs with you, you have to buy 3rd party software, figure out how to set up the software with your wifi, which only works 50% of the time if you're lucky, how such a big phone's speaker is so quiet that I have to put it on vibrate and still miss calls because I can't hear anything most of the time, ya, you can surf the internet but only part of the internet because the iphone doesn't support flash and a great percentage of the internet uses flash. I recently was trying check out new car prices only I couldn't because the 3 I tryed were using flash (I guess) and wouldn't load, and so on and so on and so on.

Vision M firmware updat

Will the next firmware update for the vision M have the capabilities to manage your music folders instead of it doing it ABC for you? Some one also said that there is a tagger in the software included with the vision m. How does this work? This is my first creative player and my only complaint is the music folder. My music is everywhere and is annoying at best to try to find a song. Can anyone shed some light on this issue? I would greatly appreciate it.

<FONT color=#999999 size=4>What I did was this; I went into me "Device Manager" (I was going to follow someone else's advice about removing my player from there and plugging it back in) and right-clicked on "Windows Portable Devices", then "MTP device" (or something like that, I can't remember, and it now recognises my zen as "Creative Zen Vision:M")-I then went to "Update Driver", and clicked "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" followed by "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." then "MTP Device". et viola!

E52 firmware update wont download.

Phone 034.001. OVI 3.1.1.80
Mobile SW update never worked since purchase. OVI phone sw update
stuck on 48MB
update saying that interrupted by firewall or antivirus. But
antivirus and firewall disabled. I have no problems on this PC with any other

Reset the E52. Dial *#7370# 12345 reformat, you'll lose all data. Make a backup first and restore without the settings.
