Next Five Weeks View Option

Why are the only the three views in the calendar that are "day" "week" "month"? - The question is mostly in that my "month" isn't just "March" right now - it's the next five weeks. So my "month" rolls across both "March and "April" Mac is a system for the visually and spatially inclined, why continue to tie the visual format of "month" only to the way the Romans did it 2000 years ago? If there was a "next five weeks" option, the start of my "month" can always be the week we are currently in, then it can read the next five weeks even if that rolls across the Roman month. Sure I could click "month" and move to April... but might as well go back to buying paper calendars for that. iCal offers the option of starting the week itself whenever we want (say Thurs to Wed)... why can't we start the "month" whenever we want?

Amen! I agree with you, and would love to see any 5 week period, in order to view events that span month-changes. Apple: can you please add this? Thank you.

  • Finder - "Today" and "This Week" views are gone since Lion

Right now it's frustrating me a little when trying to find a recent file because the "Today" and "This Week" viewing option that used to appear in the left column of Finder dissappeared since updating to Lion.
    Any solutions?
    TIA

Rather less work just to make a couple of quick smart folders yourself, no?

  • Ical moving item in week view to next week view - can you drag it

i like to drag items not completed from a week view to the next week view, but as with Office 2007 you cant just drag the event from the week view to the months calendar view on the side and drop it into a new date.
I know if you use month view, it make is easy but month view is my least preferred display option, also in month view, to drag to the next month is no possible.
I wonder what is a quickstep to do this, it must be annoying for others

    CaptainStarwars,
Try using (⌘+C) and then (⌘+V). That action retains the event in the original, while also placing a duplicate in the new location.
If you want to remove the event from the original time, use (⌘+X), then (⌘+V) in the new time frame.
    ;~)

  • Calendar is creating an extra event when the event spans the week view end of week to beginning of next week.

When I create an event in Calendar that goes from Saturday to Sunday, like my work shift that starts at 5:30 pm and ends at 3:30 am the next day, the event gets duplicated onto the next day but is seen as a single event. So if I delete the one on Sunday it deletes the Saturday one as well. But visually there are two separate events. This happens when spanning work weeks. I first noticed it because my week view was set to start on Sundays. All of my Saturday shifts were duplicated onto the Sunday. It seemed to be okay only when I switched the week to start on Mondays. But then I just went to create an extra shift I picked up on Sunday and now it's there on Monday as well.

Ive reset, restored and this is the second phone. Thought it maybe a wonky screen that would shift it while setting dates. THe only thing I can think of is that I am syncing with google calendar, but it only happens when setting events in ios not if i do it from google website on desktop PC.

  • Can I put a text view next to a select-options dynamically aligned?

    Hello,
I need a text view next to a select-options aligned.
I think the only way to do it is dynamically and in the same container.
I tried putting textviews beside the container and aligns them, but I couldn't.
    Thanks,
    Rodrigo.

    Hi,
Can you please let me know what type of layout manager you are using?
You may use Matrix layout to align the elements without using dummy textview.

For the past five weeks, iCloud has not recognized my automatically downloaded song purchases as songs within iCloud. After the songs download, they appear with the ominous striked out cloud next to a duplicate song with download cloud. To get a fully functional song library that I can use to iCloud playlists and use all the other wonderful features of iCloud, I have to delete the automatic downloads and download the new version by clicking on the iCloud download icon. This is tedious. I have considered just turning off automatic downloads, but I rely heavily on my television shows downloading while I'm asleep and being ready to watch when I wake up.
If anyone has a solution, I would greatly appreciate your help. I'm sure I did something to goof it up.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Replacement iPod...Five Week Hold?!

After purchasing an Apple iPod (30 GB, Black), I discovered that there was a problem with the product's battery. I contacted Apple Technical Support at 1-800-275-2273. I was advised to continue to try to charge the battery and if issues continued, to take the iPod in for servicing at The Apple Store Barton Creek, in Austin, TX.
I did continue to charge the iPod for two days consistently. I found no other choice but to take in my product to The Apple Store Barton Creek. I made an appointment online via http://genius.apple.com/customer/?store=R085. At the scheduled time, I spoke with an Apple Genius, who then took my iPod in to have a battery test performed on it, as well as to look at problems with the Apple Click Wheel [The Apple Click Wheel would remain on even after the iPod was put into sleep mode].
On November 16, 2005, I received a call from an Apple Specialist, who advised me that my iPod did fail their battery test, and a replacement was available to pick up.
I went into the Apple Store Barton Creek on November 17, 2005, talked to an Apple Genius, who pulled out a box--its contents being a replacement iPod. I examined it, and immediately noted that it was not personalized as my original iPod was.
The Apple Genius advised me that if I wanted a personalized iPod, to contact http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/ or 1-800-275-2273, and go through the step by step process. He also mentioned to let them know that I took the iPod to the Apple Store Barton Creek, let the Geniuses examine it, and found that there was a problem with the hard drive of the product, which could not be reformatted/repaired.
Before leaving the store, I received my original iPod back, still with defects, and used one of the Apple Store Barton Creek's computers, to create a problem report via http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/. I was given a case number and a dispatch number. I would soon receive a package to send my defective iPod to Apple.
On November 21, 2005, an employee for DHL left a message on my telephone answering system, advising me that they needed more information to complete the delivery.
On November 23, 2005, I contacted DHL, in which they advised me that Apple had the product shipping address as a Post Office Box, and DHL does not ship to those. I gave them my home physical address, and was given an estimated delivery date of November 25, 2005.
Less than fifteen minutes later, I received a call from DHL's local center in Austin, and was told that the package would be sent to me, however, if a replacement product was shipped in the future, DHL could not ship it to my physical address or have me pick it up, due to contract terms with Apple. I would only receive the empty package because there was no contents in it--it was only to be used to send my defective iPod to Apple. I was advised by DHL to contact Apple, and have them change the address to prevent further problems.
After hanging up with the DHL employee, I contacted Apple, via 1-800-275-2273. I advised them of what the DHL employee had told me, and was assisted in the matter. I was informed by the Apple specialist that a new package and dispatch number would have to be created, and the current package, which was to be delivered on November 25, 2005, should be destroyed to prevent any mix-ups or further confusion. I was told I should receive a new package on November 29, 2005, and was given a new dispatch number. I hung up with the Apple consultant, made note of the conversation, and then decided to make contact with someone at Apple that specializes in customer support/feedback.
The first time I tried to call Apple, I was given
a web address, http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html, but found it would do no good if I could not be contacted by them and receive their input/response. I decided not to use their feedback form.
Now, I have come across another problem with one of Apple's products, iTunes, a product that works closely with iPod. I am unable to preview music videos--my computer crashes when I attempt to view them. I decided to contact Apple Technical Support. The Apple Specialist advised me that according to Apple's policy, only one free issue would be granted. I had already used that issue as described previously, when I seeked advice as to what I should do with my defective iPod.
I requested to speak to the specialist's supervisor, seeking assistance to my current issues with Apple. A supervisor, John, came on the phone, and I explained my situation, in detail, as described here. John told me the same thing that the Apple Specialist had previously said, only one free issue would be granted. He did ask me what the situation was-- I advised him of my problem with iTunes, and he continued to say that I could not be helped unless I'd like to purchase a one-issue phone support pass, or an Apple Complete Care Package. I advised him that after spending $323.67, I simply did not have any funds to make another purchase. He advised me to use the Apple Discussion Boards, and seek support from other iPod users.
As of December 10, 2005, it has been twenty-eight days since the problem date and I am still without a replacement iPod. Today, I made contact with an Apple Care Representative via 1-800-275-2273 at 12:55 PM CST, in which I was told my iPod is in a holding depot waiting upon being engraved. The estimated wait time is "a couple of more weeks", along with "a few days following for shipment from Taiwan".
At 03:34 PMCST on December 16, 2005, I made a call to 1-800-275-2273. At 04:15 PMCST, my call was received by an Apple Care Representative. I made the following statements: "It has been one month and 4 days since I have remained without an iPod replacement. I've been very patient and flexible with Apple and unfortunately this issue has not been resolved. I have been passed around too many times and at this point, I'm not really sure that having an iPod is really that necessary. The iPod was supposed to be for my birthday, and it's about to be Christmas, and I still am not able to enjoy it. I need to know if my iPod is going to be getting to me soon or if I just need to cancel everything and request a refund. I'm very dissatisfied with Apple right now." The representative's response was to place me on hold and review the notes on the account. When she returned she advised me that the fifth generation iPods were at one point on hold, but were now on a five-week waiting period. The representative said that my iPod should be delivered around the twenty-eigth of December. She gave me the choice of either cancelling the engravement to expedite delivery or to continue to wait. I decided to continue to wait, and the call was terminated.
      Windows XP

A few of us here feel your pain. I just got my replacement iPod today (yippee!!!) but only after waiting over 4 weeks and lots of calls to Apple. What did the trick was talking to the dispatch department and nicely complaining to them about how I could get a new ENGRAVED iPod in less than 9 days if I ordered a new one from the sales department. The dispatch manager finally offered to process my replacement though a different channel.
I decided to not get mine engraved this time to avoid any possible issues later. Someone pointed out on this forum that if someone did find a lost iPod that it probably won't be returned to you because it has your name on it. I had to agree, even though I like to hope that there would be at least one honest person out there in the world. Chances are, that one person isn't going to be the one to find your iPod. I know how much nicer it would be to have it engraved, but with what's happened (er, NOT happened) this last month, I'd rather have the option of exchanging it at an Apple store than shipping it back to Apple if another issue arose. I'm just happy to have my iPod before Christmas traveling.

  • Anyone know how I can print a two page weekly view from ical

    Hi there.
I'm trying to print (from my ical) a weekly view into a Franklin planner page. i would like to print a week into two (side by side) 5x8 pages. Anyone have any idea? Can the iplanner app do this?
    Thanks!

After playing with the settings, it doesn't look like that's possible.
My thought is that you could try the 8x10 size and cut it in half. But since you probably don't have 8x10 paper lying around, you could try doing it as a PDF.
Try this: (Mac OSX Leopard only)
Set up your print options in iCal, choose the 8x10 paper size, and press "Continue." Then, instead of choosing "Print," click "PDF" and "Open PDF in Preview."
From here, you could print it on regular letter size, and trim it down for your book. Or photocopy it onto your 5x8 paper.
I know that's not ideal, but you know, it's an option.

  • Printing event locations in Week view

    Hello,
I'm trying to print out my class timetable for the term, and it would be exceptionally useful if i could see the locations of each class/event in the print out rather than having to write them in by hand! I can't see any option to select/deselect this in iCal's print options. Does anyone have any tips for how to get an iCal event's location information to appear in the weekly view printout? I could have sworn I was able to do it before (but I might be dreaming...).
    Thanks in advance,
    Lauren.

Hmm, suddenly they locations have appeared again on my latest attempt to print them out. Not sure what that was all about, but whatever it was is now sorted.
    Cheers anyway!

  • Print ical weekly view with fewer hours

When I print iCal in a weekly view, It prints 24 hours.  Obviously that isn't necessary.  How can I get it to print only 12 hours or the hours I have on my schedule?

I was able to figure it out.  Apparently I had the times in wrong for an event and it went from pm one day to am the next day, hence prining 24hr.  When I corrected this is solved my problem.  Thanks for your patience.

  • ICal print in weekly view doesn't begin from monday but tuesday

    Hello,
I faced a problem while trying to print a weekly view of my calendars. Even though I have adjusted the calendar in the setting so that the week starts from monday, every time I try to print a weekly view of my calendars, the weekly view is is alway for the dates Tuesday - Monday, NOT Monday - Sunday. I tried choosing in the printing view that the printing would start from the date 27th of october (monday), but instead, the first date on output was always Tuesday (28th). The same happened when i chose that area printed starts from next week - it starts it again from Tuesday not Monday.
    Any help for this?

    epee91,
What setting do you have in System Preferences...>Language & Region>First day of week:?

  • Birthdays in calendar weekly view.....

i have a bb 9630 and my question pertains to the calendar application....
if i have 2 birthdays scheduled for the same day for 2 different people....lets say.....one synced thru facebook and the other thru my blackberry contacts and i have the calendar setting on "view all" calendars...when scrolling thru the calendar on a weekly view....the only birthday that shows up is the facebook birthday......the blackberry contact birthday is nowhere to be seen.....now if i go into "view agenda" for that particular day....both birthdays are shown.   both do show on a day view and month view when i select that particular day within the month view but not in a weekly calendar view.
is that just the way it is?...or am i able to set it up to have both birthdays shown on a weekly calendar view?
    thanks,
    g.

    Hi Denes,
Thanks for your quick reply. I have mailed you a screenshot of the corruption I am talking about. The whole page template is "application default". In the "Calendar Attributes" tab in that region, I have three options in the template combo-box: calendar, calendar alternative 1, and small calendar. None of those options have any effect on the column link display corruption. In the "Region Definition" tab. the user interface template is "reports region". I have tried a number of different templates there and none affect the corruption in the column-link display either. I'm using Theme "Modern Blue 20" and the template utilization screen off Shared Components says my calendar page is using a calendar template.
    regards,
    Malcolm.

  • How can you view iCal Calendar in week view on iTouch/iPhone

If the option is simply unavailable i suggest Apple makes an update for it?
Another question i have up is: "Why can't i see my deligates' Calanders(subscribed calanders on google calanders which is linked to iCal) on "itouch/iphone iCal"

In a way there is an week view, showing only events, but it is the continuous List option.
I understand what you are looking for, more of a grid, which would require Calendar to work in landscape more. I would like that too at times. You can make the suggestion to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/.
As for the 2nd part: I don't know that you can since they are appearing on your calendar as pulled data supplied from Google and not truly part of your own.

  • IPad Ical Week View BUG

I just realized this problem on my iPad.
In the WEEK VIEW... the Right Arrow does not respond in either the portrait or landscape mode. when tapping the next week, the previous week is displayed. and when tapping the left arrow, the week skips one week and displays 2 weeks back.
For example if i am dispalying the week sept 5 - 11, tapping sept 12-18 will not show that week. But tapping sept 19-26 will display the sept 12th -18. Also tapping the left arrow goes back 2 weeks instead of just one.
I was on call with Apple for 2 hours and did every single trouble shooting step and they were quite suprized themselves with this problem. He said it was never heard of.
I checked it on a friend's ipad and the same bug was on it too. I am relieved that I am not the only one facing this problem.
I wonder if an update will solve this even I was asked to send the Ipad to the Service center. But now i wont coz we know its not a Hardware problem.
Wish there is a solution to this soon.
    Please reply.
    Cyrus Dubash

Yes i restored it as a New iPad with the Calendar completely empty. But still the same problem. Apple says I am the first to complain about this problem and they need to see the iPad.
I live in India where there Ipad is not launched and so the nearest service center is Singapore. On having checked if the same happens on another iPad, I checked it on my friends iPads and out of 4 more, 2 had the same problem as mine. So now i know it is not a problem with the hardware. and so i dont intend to send it to the service center.
I hope the next update solves this. I usually use the Week View and its disappointing that that view itself has the bug.
