Next Gen Pixi: Little wider, screen a little bigger and please a center nav pad and send/end buttons...

Love the Pixi compared to the Pre for size and form factor, but I'd love to see it somewhere between the Treo Pro and its current form. You make it a little wider, move the ear speaker higher up and maximize the screen with less bezel. Add a clickable optical pad in the center so you can navigate through text and select text easier as well as add to the one handedness for simple navigation. I've used a samsung moment for awhile and love the 4 directional keys as a secondary form of nav. Throw in hard send/end buttons and you'd have a real winner.
I hate the Apple influence that has been brought to Palm when it comes to hardware design. I guess it's a pipe dream, but bringing back the removable storage would be huge as well. I can see the competition heating up as Android progresses and newer phone designs are brought out. It is tough to beat the candybar/thumb board combo for simple one handed operation though, and Palm could have a major winner and not just an "intro level" smartphone in the Pixi line. No reason for it to play second fiddle to the Pre. The Pixie isn't just for newbies.

I have yet to visit a Sprint or Verizon store to check out the Pixi for myself, but your observations are thoughtful and well reasoned. You may have seen this suggested before, but it's not just baloney...the best way to get direct feedback to the business side of Palm (rather than just the Support side which includes these Forums), is to go to www.palm.com/feedback and lay it out there.

Hold down Option key and click the Green button. It will change from the Full Screen button back to a Zoom button.
You can also double-click the empty area in the window frame (title bar) if you don’t have it set to minimize when double-clicking.

No, Heat, Little Noise and fixed eject button

Just to let you know... I think we are all a bit too negative about our MBP's.I got my first one, and it had the processor whine, and the trackpad was a bit sticky..Anyway, Apple gladly exchanged it after a week. I got a new one, and the Eject button looked as if it was going to fall out. I just decided that this time I was not going to send it back, so I gently persuaded the button down.... Yes, there is a bit of whine.. but there are more good to this machine than these few errors.
Lets be positive and enjoy. I have moved from PC to Mac.. and you know, I had a lot more problems than before...

A few months ago the sleep button on the top of my iPhone 4s stopped workng so I set up a quick button on my screen that I can put it to sleep with. Now my screen is not working, only that quick button is working. Help!

Help with what? Your phone is dying. Bring it and $199 to Apple for an out of warranty replacement before it's completely dead and you lose all your info.

What should i do if my screen doesn't work and my home button is also not working? The screen doesn't even light up when i plug the phone in.

Did all this happen at once, or over time? Have you plugged the device into a charger for at least a half an hour? After that amount of time, you can try a reset, hold the sleep/wake and home button together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot. If it does not, then make an appointment with the Genius Bar at Apple. I would say the phone is broken.

How to send wide-screen slideshow to iDVD?

is there a way to create a wide-screen slideshow in iPhoto and send it unaltered to iDVD? Whatever I try, it stubbornly wants to reformat the slideshow with a 4/3 aspect ratio.
Any hints would be very much appreciated, and yes, I do have Photo2Movie, but I'm interested whether it's possible from iPhoto

How are you creating the slideshow in iPhoto? Did you crop the photos to the 16:9 ratio before creating the slideshow? That's what I did and then did the Share to iDVD. I made sure I had a widescreen theme and that iDVD was set to widescreen under the Project menu.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Display PDF wide screen in Share pod?

My users are frustrated that uploaded PDF files cannot be displayed the width of an Adobe Connect pod. When I make the pod go full screen on a 16x9 display, I'm still constrained to display only over the center of the pod, not edge to edge. Am I missing something, or is this an inherent limitation of Adobe Connect? Will Adobe Connect 9 support wide screen displays of PDFs and webcams?

OSMF.swc v1.0 appears to require Flex SDK 4.1.
So how would someone play Amazon Cloudfront live streams in an Adobe Connect share pod?
Is there a way other than using OSMF 1.0? Or, alternately, is there a way to get OSMF 1.0 to be compatible with SDK 3.5?

QuickView: How can I change the default full screen width of PDFs and JPGs

I am very happy with the changes on the new OSX Lion. But I have a disappointment form QuickView. On Snow Leopard I will hit the "Option+Space" to QuickView files (mostly pdf and jpg) on full width and just scroll up and down with the mouse or the arrow keys. Now in Lion, when I press "Option+Space" I get the file on full height. This does not work for me because the information on screen is too small and I end up having to open the file on Preview.
How can I change this settings so they are like on Snow Leopard?

Not only can you set global values for each of the three columns, but you can also set unique column widths on a per community basis like this:
.ptCommunity-1234 .columnOne { width: 635px; border-right:1px solid #CCCCCC; padding-top: 10px; padding-right: 20px; }
.ptCommunity-1234 .columnTwo { width: 240px; padding-top: 10px; padding-left: 8px;}
You can see here my community #1234 has a wide first column and a more narrow column two and even puts a little solid line between them.
It's all in the stylesheets on your imageserver at the path I mentioned earlier. Again, look at the experience definition object in your admin portal and look at the stylesheet name in the dropbox. The stylesheet name you see is mapped to the .css file using the community-themes.txt file in the same ...yadayada/common/public/css folder on the imageserver.
If you have, lets say, a mainstyle1-en.css that only has about a dozen lines dictating only the few items you mentioned before - then it has been stripped at one time because the default that comes w/ an original install is huge and a great starting point. It even has style tips and snippets in comment blocks to tutor you through its gargantuan variety of options.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Yes, or you can simply restart. As you don't have the CDs, this isn't on the plate any more.
The internal backup battery is not expensive and, in most iMacs is user-replacable. If yours has a tray-loading optical drive like this one:
it takes a major teardown to replace the internal battery. If this is the case, you'd be better off to leave the computer plugged in all the time; that eliminates the main reason for having a working battery.
If it has a slot-loading optical drive like this one:
things are much easier. The battery is visible through the RAM access door on the bottom of the computer case. The manual:

has sketches of how to access the RAM and therefore the backup battery. Unfortunately, the pdf on the manual goes up sideways on-screen and the RAM instructions are pretty deep into the manual. It's probably easier to scroll (for a while) to the section on adding RAM and print the applicable pages.
When you work on the battery, some sort of non-conductive pliers or large tweezer or forceps help unless you have tiny fingers. Make sure to note the polarity of the old battery and install the new one in the same orientation.
The battery itself is readily available. If price is no oblect, you can get it for a small rasom from Radio Shack Store ("Tandy" outside the US) as part number 23-026.
Online, they are dirt-cheap even after adding shipping. I buy backup batteries form this outfit:

No way really for anyone here to give you an answer to that question. You would need to either send it to Apple for evaluation, or take it into the genius bar at a nearby Apple Store and ask them about it. Only an Apple employee could make the call, and they would need to see and handle it to decide.
