Next maps update on the phone?

Does anybody know if the next maps update (on the phone) is already scheduled?
I'll be travelling on the next week and I noticed that Nokia Maps 3.09 data for a city I'll be passing by is outdated.

On Nokia Maps 3.09 on my C6-01, there is no connection between roads 180 and 483. As my route follows road 483 to the west, it goes through Francisco Beltrao city streets instead.

Thanks for your post.
Maps are usually updated (when needed) four times a year and are made available through Nokia Suite. If you find any incorrect map data you can report this to the NAVTEQ mapreporter from where this can be verified and corrected if needed.

Nokia E52 - downloading maps direct to the phone

Hello, i would ask if here is chance to download maps directly to the phone without using a PC. (through WiFi).
I have Ovi Maps appliaction v 3.04 , phone Nokia E52.

Welcome to the forum!
There is nothing to stop you downloading directly the compressed .zip file for smaller region(s) from map servers directly upon your E52, decompressing it and moving the (16) folders 0 - 9 and a - f to their respective positions in E:\Cities\diskcache following the methods outlined by ovikovi here on the forum!
There is unfortunately no "Update" feature within Ovi Maps v3.04 as opposed to v3.06 for this purpose!

When i try to open week cal it loads and then closes after a few seconds...I have checked for updates, turned the phone off then on, closed out of the app and then opened it again...nothing works! Any suggestions?

To reset, press and hold the Home and power buttons until the silver apple appears.
I would delete the app, reset the phone and then download the app again. Your calendar information should be stored on the phone as Week Cal uses the Calendar app information.

Where does the problem lie? Also can anyone tell me the hierarchy of use between the Apple Maps, SIRI, and Google maps when the app is on the phone? How do you choose one over the other as the default map usage? Or better still how do you suppress SIRI from using the Apple maps app when requesting a "go to"?
I have placed an address location into the CONTACTS list and when I ask SIRI to "take me there" it found a TOTALLY different location in the metro area with the same street name. I have included the address, the quadrant, (NE) and the ZIP code into the CONTACTS list. As it turns out, no amount of canceling the trip or relocating the address in the CONTACTS list line would prevent SIRI from taking me to this bogus location. FINALLY I typed in Northeast for NE in the CONTACTS list (NE being the accepted method of defining the USPS location quadrant) , canceled the current map route and it finally found the correct address. This problem would normally not demand such a response from me to have it fixed but the address is one of a hospital in the center of town and this hospital HAS a branch location in a similar part of town (NOT the original address SIRI was trying to take me to). This screw up could be dangerous if not catastrophic to someone who was looking for a hospital location fast and did not know of these two similar locations. After all the whole POINT of directions is not just whimsical pasttime or convenience. In a pinch people need to rely on this function. OR, are my expectations set too high?
How does the iPhone select between one app or the other (Apple Maps or Gppgle Maps) as it relates to SIRI finding and showing a map route?
Why does SIRI return an address that is NOT the correct address nor is the returned location in the requested ZIP code?
Is there a known bug in the CONTACTS list that demands the USPS quadrant ID be spelled out, as opposed to abreviated, to permit SIRI to do its routing?

siri will only use apple maps, this cannot be changed. you could try google voice in the google app.

Had to remove itunes from my computer to reset the computer. Now I'm having problems syncing my iphone with the computer. Computer is saying it wants to download updates to the phone but that will delete things I downloaded straight from the phone. Help!

iTunes thinks you have a new computer because you restored the OS. Open iTunes and authorize it to the same account you have on the iPhone. Did you restore your iTunes content from a backup after resetting your computer? Have you been syncing regularly with the computer, and does the iTunes library on the computer contain your apps, music and videos? If so just sync and your content will be removed then restored.
If you have not hopefully you have now learned something. You can recover apps and purchased songs by connecting the phone, without syncing, and choose "Transfer purchases..." from the File menu.

Problem messages updated to the phone

Can someone help me....I have my Nokia PC Suite 6.80.21 nokia 6230 phone, problem is on messages updated to the phone messages from back into my phone from my PC and msg copied 4-8 times and then Mobile msg Memory is showing full and i cannot load new msg to phone ....

problem is that when I write any new message on message editor on Nokia PC Suite phone browser and try to save or send, the message editor goes to messages updated automatically (phone and computer messages are now being update) and then on the phone the old message copy 4 -6 times from Nokia PC Suite and then my Mobile message Memory is showing full and i cannot able to save or send that new message to my 6230 phone.(hope i explain better this time);

Did you go to Settings/iTunes and AppStore/Apple ID and make sure that your Apple ID is listed?
If not, sign out with the shown ID, restart the phone and sign in with your AppleID after that.

This is a pain when the phone re-sorts the order, when I need the most used number to be first using hands free in my car. Who can get this corrected in the iphone software to leave the order in which I imput numbers alone.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

IOS WebClip: update crashing the phone

Summary:
I am developing a webclip (an rss reader) and sometimes, like once out of 20 times, when I update the app (through updating the manifest) the app launches and I cannot get out of it anymore, I have to reset the phone to get out or wait for the phone to run out of battery.
The details:
My webclip calls home in AJAX on start to see if there is anything new (dunno if that's related)
When I have a new version, I update the manifest file on my server, changing the URLs of the cached resources to make sure they are downloaded again.
On restarting the app (home -> launch again), the old version launches and the new version downloads in the bg
On restarting the app again, the new version comes up. That's in 95% of the cases
In 5% of the case, the following happens:
The symptom
The old version of the app launches instead of the new version
it doesn't switches from portrait to landscape anymore. It sticks in portrait mode whatever I do.
Clicking on Home doesn't leave the app (doesn't do anything at all)
Double clicking on home doesn't do anything at all either
A long press on Home seems to trigger Siri (I hear the ding-ding) but I cannot do anything with it and I don't see Siri.
A triple press on Home launch the guided access (I have it setup) but I still cannot get out of the app.
Clicking on power doesn't do anything (long press or short press)
The phone doesn't go to sleep anymore. The screen dims after the delays and it stays dimmed forever - never turns off.
Clicking on a <a href target=_blank href=kdljkhklhklhkl> in the app normally leaves the app for Safari but it doesn't do anything here.
The app works fine otherwise.
Pressing Home+Power for 5 seconds seems the only way to leave the app at that stage. This resets the phone.
I am puzzled by this problem. It happened three times to me already - all three times in a middle of an app update. I noticed it naturally since as I'm the developer I update the app quite frequently. But I'd hate for any of my users to fall into this. Hard to explain swallow...
I am testing on an iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 (the latest). I'm also testing this on Chrome and Firefox on linux with no such issue so far even though I've reloaded the app far more often with those desktop browsers.
Any hint is welcome. I am ready to get involved if anyone has issues reproducing it or want me to do specific manipulations or developments.

Downloading maps without connect the phone.

With the map loader it was possible to download the maps to a memory card (only after started once Ovi maps on the phone) without connect the phone to the computer. With Ovi suite it is not possible do it anymore.
please back this function. To download several GB I need time and download the maps directly on the memory card give me the possibility to use the phone normally.

Why does Siri and Maps turn off the phone when activated?

I have a 4S less than 1.5 years old and bought it because I wouldn't get any viruses. I use the phone for calls, e-mail, surfing web and directions. Now when I engage Siri or Maps for directions/location, my phone turns off and restarts. I get nothing, nada, black screen and then an Apple log and then I am back to square one.    I think I have a bug of some sort that got in when the web page I went to asked to use my location and wouldn't let me say no.   Has this happened to anyone else? How can I fix it? -bam

Try a reset:
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
Settings > Safari >
     Clear History
     Clear Cookies and Data
Advanced > Website Data > delete here.

HT5796 I have recently changed the apple ID on my husbands old phone to a new one for me. When I click on appstore icon to do updates on the phone- it still asks me for the password associated with the previous apple ID - how do I reset this

My ID reflects correctly under the settings / itunes appstore tab however when I click on the app store icon to do updates, the window pops up with the previous apple ID and requests the associated password.
How do I reset the apple ID password to enable me to install updates on the iphone with my apple ID and associated password.

Or you'll have to delete the apps and then download (pay again or free) using your Apple ID.

HT4623 my iphone 3gs updated, but the phone can not activate.

This was an update on iphone 3GS to the ios6. Everything downloaded well but stuck at the activation part.
I've tried several times but it keeps saying it can not activate at this time, even with itunes. Any suggestions??

That is the reason your iPhone will not activate any longer.
Next time, I strongly suggest never hacking or jailbreaking an iPhone.

RazrM: Latest update 'broke' the phone

Just received a replacement RazorM and still having a problem that I attribute to the latest update. Phone seems very slow and the camera doesn't work at all most of the time. Also, phone is freezing and is difficult to restart.
Anyone else having these issues? Is there a way to rollback to prior Android release?
