Next release of Solaris operating system, any given date or estimation?

Hi
Thank you for reading my post
Is there any given date or estimation about next release of:
-Solaris Operating system
-Solaris express
-Solaris express developer edition
Thanks

Solaris express/ sxde are on a 3 month release cycle. The last release
was sx 5/07, so any day now.
In theory, I believe that solaris 10 was supposed to be on a 6 monthly release cycle.
The last release was 11/06, so its slipped a little.
I believe the next release of S10 will be S10 8/07.
The releases often make it to the public in the month after their notional release date.
So I would expect them both sometime in the next month or so.

    Are there any fucntions available to determine the same?
    Please let me know....Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Smita

    Hi ,
    You can using the following peice of code to get the Day of a Week for the given date :
    Calendar now = Calendar.getInstance();
    System.out.println("Current date : " + (now.get(Calendar.MONTH) + 1)
         + "-" + now.get(Calendar.DATE) + "-" + now.get(Calendar.YEAR));
    //create an array of days
    //Day_OF_WEEK starts from 1 while array index starts from 0
    String[] strDays = new String[]{"Sunday",  "Monday", "Tuesday", "Wednesday",  "Thusday",   "Friday",  "Saturday" };
    String day_of_week = strDays[now.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK) - 1];
    System.out.println("Current day is : " + strDays[now.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK) - 1]  );

  • Status of Stock on any given date/Complex

    Hi Experts,
    I want to display the status of stock(Like MMBE) on any given date. Actually i am trying to capture the MSEG data and categorize based on the movement types/stock status/special stock indicator and trying to calculate the status of stock in each category.
    I find it complex when i handle the case like following...as there is no clue direclty available in the MSEG for the stock status.
    1. Mov .643 - Stock 100 kg is posted as Stock in TransferC.C
    2. Mov. 101 - GR Stock 50Kg  posted in Restricted stock category
    Now when i display the stock status as per my logic it shows that Stock in Transit is 100kg and Restricted Stock is 50Kg
    Actually it has to be 50Kg in each category.
    How to acheive the above ?
    Could You please share your experience and suggestions to overcome the above situation.

  • Block stock calculation from mseg table for any given date.

    I am calculating stock from mseg table for any given date. Not just month end stock or current stock. It could be back date also. It is tallying also with MB5B stock report of that date. Now I have to bifurcate that stock into unrestricted stock, quality stock and block stock.
    I have checked INSMK and ZUSTD field in mseg table, but could not concluded. Should I check movement type wise? Block/ Quality stock could be transferred into unrestricted stock also. That also I have to take care.
    Can anyone clearly explain how the stock type posting takes place in mseg table when goods receipt as block / quality stock and when the same goods transferred in unrestricted stock, what are the reference indication.

  • I an trying to do video editing with iMovie 11  9.0.8, i have no sound. OS X Lion 10.7.5 is my operating system any suggestions Please.

    I am trying to do video editing with iMovie 11  9.0.8 .  I am running OS X Lion 10.7.5   I have no sound,any suggestions please.

    This seems to have fixed the issue: on your desktop, hold down the [OPT] key and click on "Go" in the menu bar; holding down the [OPT] click on Library, find Preferences, and then delete all the files that start with "com.apple.itunes.XXXX.plist" where the "XXX" is whatever other things may exist - as long as they end in "plist". From my experience, preference files are rebuilt by the system after the next restart, so you have very little worry of losing any important data; the worst that could happen )and NOT in this instance, but for other plist files) is that you may have to reset the application "preferences" again when you next start it up, to act or appear in a "preferred" customized way for you.
    Once you delete the .plist files, empty the Trash, and either log out or restart the computer. Once you're back up and operational, start iTunes and your iDevices should reappear in the sidebar (if that's open) and/or at the top of the screen (if that view is enabled).
    Hope that helps. It definitely fixed my problem!

  • Upgrading Operating System, Losing Registration Data

    It seems that upgrading the operating system results in the loss of 3rd party registration data, meaning one has to put in user names and passwords everytime one upgrades. I never had to do this with any other types of upgrades and is a real aggrevation. Do you know if there is any software or workarounds to address this issue?

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    What specific registration data are you referring to? Email accounts configured in BIS? 3rd party apps that you must re-install? Something else?
    Thanks.

  • [Resolved] 'No Operating System Found' - Recovering Data

    I have been using arch linux in dual boot with arch as my primary OS for three years now. When I turned on my computer today, it said "No operating system found". In attempts to atleast recover my data (from the arch linux partition), I created a live ubuntu USB and booted into it. But in the computer tab, where it should traditionally show all my hard disk partitions, it is only showing the data on the usb.
    fdisk -l also shows only one partition.
    I am about to conclude that my computer hard disk is dead, but am posting here as a last resort- is there any way that I can get my data out?

    I'm glad you got it working.
    Flicker wrote:I had backed up the drive a month ago, but a month is still a lot of work, which is what I wanted to get out.
    Thank goodness you have at least some backup. I have a backup strategy where I clone my hard drive once a month, but I just recently also started a more frequent off-site backup.
    Ooh, I should totally blog about my new backup strategy...

  • Operation System effect the data been stored

    Dear friends:
    I want to design a application base on servlet to support both Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, and I use UTF-8 to encode the data posted by
    form store it in Ms Access. Unfortunatly it could work well on Simplified Windows 2000, but under Traditiona Windows 2000 it can only store Traditional Chinese char,the Simplified Chinese char it store as '?'. IS it Operation System problem?
    Anyone can give me some suggestion,I will appreciate.
    Thank!!

    I presume you are using the JDBC-ODBC bridge... the problem is there, it does not support unicode, and cannot do the proper translation.
    there are few threads in the JDBC forum that discuss this.

  • Is Ipad1 still secure considering the company has not kept the operating systems up to date for this model?

    Is Ipad one still secure considering Apple has not provided it with the proper operating systems?

    With Firmware updates, Apple will usually offer instructions to complete the update, since they require an additional step to complete. It sounds like you haven't finished the Firmware update completely.
    Since it's your computer and investment, I wouldn't risk it and would visit your local Apple Store and let them solve the problem. In the meantime, read this link from Apple:

  • Given IP Address return Operating System

    Anyone have any ideas how to return the name of the Operating System when given an IP Address to a remote computer??

    There is absolutely no way to do that given just an IP address.
    There are internet protocols that define a server service which might allow you to connect to a computer specified by an IP address and it might provide that information. However there are a lot of gotchas to that.
    For example exposing your OS via one of those services on the internet is considered a security hole - and so some (many?) sys admins replace the default service with no information or incorrect information.
    And some computers simply don't run the service for that port. So no way to get the info. And pinging the port for that information is usually viewed as an attack which might result it action being taken.

  • Which 10g release supports Solaris x86 version 10?

    Hi,
    I downloaded Oracle 10.1.0.3 for Solaris x86. When I installed it, I got error, saying I can only install this version on Solaris 9 x86. Do you have any idea which Oracle 10g version supports Solaris x86 version 10?
    Thanks
    L

    Hi,
    If we believe metalink, Oracle 10gR1 is already certified for Solaris x86
    Solaris Operating System x86 Version 10
    Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 10g
    Status: Certified
    Certification Note:
    Install Information:
    o 1. Execute runInstaller with the -ignoreSysPrereqs option.
    o 2. Select 'Do not create a starter database' when installing Oracle 10g.
    o 3. During installation, the warning message 'SUNWsprox package not installed' can be ignored. Press Continue to resume the installation.
    o 4. Download and install patch 4186426 from metalink.oracle.com after installing Oracle 10g software.
    o 5. If you have an End User Solaris 10 distribution, install the SUNWuiu8 package prior to installing the 10g client.
    Have you run installer like recommended in point 1 ?
    For 10gR2, you need to wait december for certification.
    Nicolas.
