Nexus 7k SNMP ifxtable

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with Nexus7k not displaying any values for L3 packets forwarded/received for subinterfaces when doing ifxtable snmp walk.
Is there something I am missing?
Thanks,

  • Cisco LMS 4.2.3 - Nexus VDC - SNMP

    Hi All,
I am having some trouble with getting inventory collection work for the VDC's of a Nexus 7k from LMS 4.2.3.
The collection works for the main VDC, just not any of the others.
I have verified (using SNMPWALK) from the LMS server that the snmp credentials in use on the LMS for these VDC's is correct.
    We are using SNMP V3.
The error I am getting when trying to run an inventory collection is:
Device Collection Failed. Failed to fetch Containment details.
Does anyone have any experience with getting VDC's to work in LMS and may have seen this error before?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Nexus 7000 SNMP Polling of interfaces within VDC's ?

    Hi all,
I hope this is a relatively easy question to answer.
I have some Nexus 7010's that I need to monitor via SNMP.  Currently, we can poll the switch and get some info back, however we only see physical interfaces that belong to the Admin VDC.
In order to be able to poll interfaces within a non-Admin VDC, do I have to configure SNMP communities (and an IP to respond to the poll) within each VDC ?  Or is there a way to poll them from the Admin VDC?

    Hi  Anthony,
Think of each VDC as a separate switch.  So you need to configure SNMP per VDC.

  • Nexus 5548UP snmp gathering information from FC is not working

    Hi all,
We have a couple of Nexus 5548UP.
    Nx-OS = n5000-uk9.7.0.5.N1.1.bin
monitoring traffic of FC interfaces was working fine until we upgraded to 7.0.5.N1.1 from 6.0.2.N2.1.
We didn't change anything on our Nexus config and on our Centreon monitoring engine.
I also can't see Fc interface while browsing MIBs from the Nexus.
Is there any issue or something to do to recover the monitoring of The FC interface of the Nexus ?

    It might be this bug.

  • AAA ACS and Nexus

    Hello,
i am setting up tacacs+ aaa on nexus switch.
Using nexus cli i can record all entered commands (see example 1).
Using Cisco Device Manager with the same switch i cannot get a record of entered commands (see example 2).
Via CDM, nexus is using snmpv3 and MD5 for authentication allowing me to type username/password to authenticate.
How can i setup aaa on nexus to provide same level of reporting when using CDM and CLI?

    Hi
there are many ways to achieve this, but the *correct* and most scalable is to enable command authorisation on your devices.
In ACS create some groups based on the permissions levels each group should have.
In the groups enable the shell (exec) service.
At this point you can either list the denied commands for certains groups right in the group edit page itself.
Alternatively, you can created Device Command Sets in the share profiles UI. These are more flexible because inside a single group you cap map to different DCSs based on the device being managed (either by device ip or by network device group)
Its all there in the ACS docs!
    Good luck.

  • Nexus 5548 not responding to snmp

I've got a Nexus 5548 running 6.0(2)N2(3).  It does not use the mgmt interface or management vrf.  It's using a vlan interface for all my management access.
I have a simple snmp config set up:
    snmp-server community mystring
My SNMP server is directly connected (no firewalls, no acls).  I can ping my nexus from the SNMP host, but can't get SNMP replies.
I've done an SNMP debug, nothing happens when I run an snmpwalk.  I also checked show snmp, and it's showing no SNMP input packets.
Could this have something to do with trying to use the management vrf?  Or something simple I'm missing?
    Thanks

Ha wow -- "sh run snmp" pointed me to the problem. There was a command:
    no snmp-server protocol enable
That must be a default, I never entered that.  Anyway a 'snmp-server protocol enable' fixed it.  I should have caught that.  Although an hour with TAC also didn't notice it hehe.
    Thanks!

  • Nexus 3064 switch: Can't get MAC addresses through SNMP

    Hello Everyone!
I'm seeing an issue in our Nexus 3064 switch where we can't get the MAC address table using SNMP. At the same time, I can see MAC addresses of all the ports from the switch command line (show mac address-table). I've verified that SNMP is enabled and I can fetch other switch information (such as VLANs) using SNMP.
I did an SNMP walk to get the mac (
    snmpwalk -v2c -c <communityString>@<VlanID> <ManagementIP> 1.3.6.1.2.1.17.4.3.1), and it didnt return anything.
Could any of you please let me know what can be potentially wrong here? Really appreciate your help.
    Thanks for your time!

    Greetings Vipins,
This could be caused by CSCto56055 "not getting any value for dot1dtpFdbTable objects", resolved in 5.0(3)U1(2) and later releases.

  • NEXUS 5000: read CPU Load with SNMP

    Hallo,
tried to read the NEXUS 5000 cpu load:
    cseSysCPUUtilization 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.305.1.1.1
    but there is a  timeout:
    Timeout: No Response from 10.100.224.16
Other MIB values readout, like the system value, is ok.
    We use snmpv3.
    Thanks
    ylvie

    Hi Ylvie,
There are a few sources for CPU utilisation values from SNMP, the classic
    ones from CISCO-PROCESS-MIB:
    cpmCPUTotal5secRev     1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.6
    cpmCPUTotal1minRev     1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.7
    cpmCPUTotal5minRev      1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.8
And a new source in CISCO-SYSTEM-EXT-MIB, cseSysCPUUtilization
(1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.305.1.1.1). Unlike the averaged values from CISCO-PROCESS-MIB,
cseSysCPUUtilization returns an un-smoothed value and typically shows more erratic
results.so  I would recommended the objects from CISCO-PROCESS-MIB
    ie. cpmCPUTotal5secRev instead.
    Thanks

  • SNMP Traps by Nexus 5010

I (my customer) does not get SNMP Traps from the N5k when he unplugs one power supply (only logs). He gets only traps when he turns both power supplies off. If I check show snmp trap all trap entity are enabled (rmon Trap are off). NX-OS is 4.2(1)N2(1).
How he will get traps if one power supplies is off or fails?

    Hi
    Thanks for your support.
First I like to mention that the issue is when an Nexus2k behind the 5k (FEX) looses the power on one power-supply.
The trap I get if both power supplies are disconected is:
    "Power Status Change Event.
The power operational status of a FRAU at entPhysicalTable index has changed to offEnvPower.
    Power Admin Status: . "
4 seconds later I get than also the FRU Removal Event.
like mentioned eralier we also would like to get snmp traps when only one power supply goes down, but can't not figure out the config for that.
