NF3 & 6800(series) compatibility ???

here is a nice long thread to read for anyone who has a 6800(series) VGA crad that  freezes on Directx games on an nforce3 chipset.
NF3 & 6800 compatibility
btw i have found that fastwrites do up my 3dmark scores so running with them off is not acceptable for me.
I can't wait for my MSI K8T NEO2-FIR motherboard.

Here is the old thread 6800 cards-a no-no with nforce boards?
My Asus 6800GTTD (16/6) run just fine with Dfi Infinity and Asus A8V ~410/870 but with Neo2 I had to run it ~350/850 so I switched it to X800 Pro Vivo (see sig).

  • N series compatibility in USA & Canada

hi. can somebody to tell me exactly if one of the following N series models as: N80, N73 ME, N95, bought in United Emirates, are full compatible in USA or Canada? I'll do appreciate for any answer. I wanna also to mention: these all models are not locked in any network

To my knowledge, Nokia has not released a single phone compatible with the funky 3G frequencies in the US. And the only SIM card enabled (UMTS not WCDMA) network in the US is AT&T Wireless (formerly Cingular). Verizon and Spring both have 3G capability, but they are WCDMA (meaning only their phones).
I use my N95 (and previously an E70) with T-Mobile and get access to EDGE. It's no 3G, but I am not holding my breath. In America, mobile phone technology is still in the 20th century.
Anyway, in the US, you can use an unlocked phone with AT&T Wireless and T-Mobile. In Canada, I believe Rogers is one provider on a GSM network and there may be others.

  • [Athlon64] HyperX and Neo2 Series Compatibility?

Hey, I recently got a 1gb set of PC3200(KHX3200AK2/1G)  for my K8T Neo2 Series Board and they don't work.  The system stops at early chipset initialization.  I talked to Kingston and MSI, hey both gave me things to try; changing the CAS latency to 3, Enabling the IT timing; and still no luck. They both said they should work.  Any ideas or things I'm doing wrong?  Cheers

  • Intel Pentium D 9xx series Compatibility with MSI 955x?

    Hi All,
I just wanted to get some feedback from others who may be running an Intel Pentium D 9xx series processor on a MSI 955x board.  What processor are you running and have you had any compatiblity problems, strange quirks, etc?
I found this link as well but wanted to get some real world opinions!

    Thanks!!

They are compatible and won't have any issues.

  • Can I use my USA-purchased HP 6800 Series printer in Europe?

I'm moving to Europe and have several computers and printers that I want to take with me.  I know I can use my PC's, but I want to take my printers, too.  They don't appear to have a 110/220 switch on them, but I don't know if I can use converters/adapters to get them to work.

    Hi
My goodness you are making me work through my memory for this one.  That printer my be 5 or 6 years old now. I believe that you should be able to use your printer from an electric viewpoint.  However, you will also have to have your printer reset to accept European region cartridges.
    1. Electricity
I managed to find a work colleague who still has one of these printers and you should be OK as long as you check the power block (black box) that is on the power cable.  If you look at the specifications that are molded into the block it should say that it allows 100 - 220V.  If so, then you just need a standard power cable that goes from the wall plug socket into the power block.  If the power block says it only handles 100-120V then you will need to get a complete new power lead with a 100-220V power block.
    2. European region cartridges
Once you clear up your power issues you then have to get your printer reset so that it will accept european region cartridges.  For this you will need to call HP support.
If I remember correctly you will probably have to be in your destination european country before your printer can be reset because you may need the european supplies in order for the reset to work but maybe check with HP support before you leave the USA.
Here is a link to a document explaining what you need to do.

  • K8N NEO PE MS-7030 and Geforce 6800 Vanilla

    I am on the way to buy a new graphic card , and I have 2 choices : 1- XFX 6600GT AGP 8x 128MB 500/100 and 2-XFX 6800 AGP 8X 128MB 325/700, the difference between both about 25$ for the 6800
I prefer the 6800 but I read bad stories with nforce 3 mobos, so it is safe to go with the 6600GT, I know there is no much difference between 6600GT and 6800 but in 6800 you can unlock the extra pipelines and the vertex shader
I read a lot of topics about freezing and craches with ms7030 and 6800 series ??
any one is using K8N NEO PE MS-7030 and Geforce 6600 Vanilla without problems ??
is the problem still or it has been solved ??
SO what is your recommendation ?
    Thanks

Go for the 6800, the problems with the nf3 chipset affect all series 6 cards including the 6600GT. The solution is simple - just disable fast writes in the BIOS.
The 6800 is a native AGP card but the 6600GT is a PCIe card with a HSI chip to convert it to AGP and it gets very hot.  Also you may get lucky with the pipes and it should overclock a bit.  If you stretch a bit further get the 6800GT with 256Mb and it OC's to Ultra speeds.
Too right... In addition disabling fastwrites and the dreaded ATI/NV speedup option, make sure that the 2D/3D accel speeds are at the same settings, if not the card tends to "freak out".
I have a BFG6800 OC ("vanilla" 6800 GPU/slight "factory OC") and I got lucky & was able to unlock the hidden hardware. I had an early 6800 GPU though & I think that Nvidia "closed the door" on that mod with the later builds. Something to keep in mind.
Regardless, with the unlocked hardware I was able to get near (close, but not quite) stock GT speeds but the benchmark score didn't really translate to the real world. The big limitation of the 6800 is the puny 128 mb of RAM. If I had it to do over again, I'd saved my pennies & got a GT (w/256mb of RAM), I'd be a lot happier with it. It's not that the 6800 is bad, but the GT is a LOT better.
The good thing is that the 6800 GT prices are starting to come down a bunch since the 7800's came out. If you shop around, you should be able to find a great deal on one. I'm about to go looking myself, if I come across a killer deal, I'll post back.
Edit: I've done a quick search & the chances of just finding an AGP 6800GT don't look too good. I've checked 5 vendors so far and they're either out of stock or discontinued I may have waited a bit too long....
But vanilla 6800's can be found for about $200.

    Ok, I removed the packages
    xf86-video-intel xf86-video-vesa xf86-video-fbdev
So its the xf86-video-ati, which is used.

  • Connect 6800 printer to new router

I have searched all the HP pages and this forum and haven't found an answer that works. I have a Deskjet 6840 printer and just had to buy a new router (linksys N750) and cannot connect the printer via wireless.
With this model I cannot use the setup disk because it is 2 or 3 Windows OS systems old.  I am able to connect the printer to the router via ethernet cable, and can get to the printer app screen on my PC  via the IP address the printer gives me.  When I try to set up the wireless that way, it allows me through all the steps. But it still won't connect.
Also, yes to the following:  Drivers are up to date, router is working with every other device, the SSID and key I'm using are correct.
Can someone please tell me the steps to do this correctly? If my printer has now become obsolete, please break it to me gently.
    This question was solved.

    Thoughts:
You might try assigning a static IP address for the printer at the router.
If you are using MAC filtering on the router to protect your network, make sure the printer's MAC address is added to the "allow" list in the Wireless setup.
Try moving the router - as little as a few inches may help; remember that Wireless "g" is susceptible to interference.
Make sure the router is set to respond to 801.11g -- as far as I know, all routers do this by default; it does not hurt to check the setup.
There is such a thing as "too close": make sure the router and the printer are at least 1.5 meters apart (about three feet).
Make sure you install the Update for the network reliability (from Category "Update"):
Windows 7 Critical Update to enhance reliability of network connection

  • MY CISCO 6800 IA CAN NOT JOIN TO THE PARENT

    Hello
I have a 6807XL with VS-SUP2T-10G, and the 10 Gbps Line Card WS-X6816-10GE, when I tried to provision the join of the 6800IA, I got theses errors.
    CORE(config)#interface tengigabitethernet 1/1/1
    CORE(config-if)#switchport mode fex-fabric
Command rejected: Mode fex fabric not allowed on non FEX capable slot
    CORE(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode on
Command rejected (Port-channel1, Te1/1/1): Cannot be part of bundle, Non FEX Capable Slot
What should be the solution for it??
    Regards
    Rafael Barba

    Hi,
Does your system meet all the requirement for FEX?
    Q.    What are the different components of the Instant Access solution?
    A.     The Instant Access solution requires new Cisco Catalyst 6800ia Instant Access clients and Cisco Catalyst 6500 or 6800 Series Switches (Instant Access parents) with Supervisor Engine 2T and WS-X6904-40G-2T line cards. Instant Access requires Cisco Catalyst 6500 or 6800 Series Switches configured for Virtual Switching System (VSS) mode, and we recommended having a pair of switches to provide the maximum level of redundancy and load balancing. Note: In networks where a pair of Cisco Catalyst 6500/6800 is not available, a single Cisco Catalyst 6500/6800 switch may be used when configured for VSS mode.

  • NVidia GeForce - NX 6800 TD128

I just got a brand new MSI gforce 6800 and I can't get it working.
It shows garbage during bios init., differently colored numbers and
it doesn't seem to ever get past the init, or maybe I just can't see it.
I flashed the mobo's bios to the latest version ( asus a7v 600 ), but
that didn't make any difference. does anyone have the same combo
    of board ( or chipset via 600 ) and 6800 series ? I got NX6800 TD128.
    thanx for your replies.

    Hi,
I've found the solution to the problem where the NX6800 non ultra was showing artifacts in bootup and in windows, and also locking up and flickering the display.
I read a lot of posts in this and other forums and its not really my own merit, but since I am in the dominican republic and rma'ing the card is not viable for me, I just deceided to go on and try.
**** Will void the warranty in your card ****
    - Remove the heatsink of the card. For that you must unscrew from the back of the card. There are 4 screws that are different from the rest, the ones in the center. So don't mix them with the other ones.
    - With a business card, credit card, plain screwdriver, remove the heat transfer patches from the heatsink. They should be a pink glue like stuff.
    - With the business card (don't use a screwdriver), remove the thermal paste off the cpu.
    - Once it's clean, you have to put some (preferrably good brand) thermal paste on top of the memory chips and the CPU chip. Not too much, not too little. Then spred it uniformly so it covers every memory chip and the cpu.
    - Don't worry if you spill it on top of other parts of the card since thermal paste doesn't conduct electricity.
    - Put the heatsink again and screw it. This time apply a bit more of force to the screews so It's well tightened.
    - Then try the card.
    It worked flawlessly for me.
I tested in a total of 4 machines before doing this, all had the same problem. After doing the modification, i tried it in one of the test machines, and in my current one, specs:
    Athlon 64 3200+
    MSI KT8 Neo
    1Gb 400mhz Kingston DDR
2x WD Raptors in SATA Raid 1
    Sound Blaster Live!
    Thermaltake 520Watt PSU
Temps are now about 50-60 celsius at gameplay (doom3)
I can't post the temps before that, since I couldn't get any game to run, either windows. Only safe mode and VGA mode.
    Hope this helps.
