NForce 5 Temperature is a bit high..

Just installed nTune 5.05.18.00 and noticed a VERY HIGH chipset temperature and strange temperature graphical chart.
Here is a screenshot.
162°C is quite a bit. I remember reading about this here, I think, but can't remember what was said. Anyone know if this temperature is correct and normal?
Also, can anyone recommend a good temp/fanspeed/voltage monitoring program that works with my motherboard? I use SpeedFan but it doesn't report every voltage. Not that they are accurate (so they say), but still..

I'm pretty sure ntune doesn't support that board (no MSI nv board has been supported fully by ntune before), so just forget about those readouts .

It is not possible to burn a high-quality audio CD in any version of iTunes.
iTunes burning is designed for quick, convenient burns directly from a playlist.
iTunes does not do the proper volume normalization or silence suppression that is required for a high-quality finished product.
If you are striving for quality, you can consider dedicated burning programs such as Toast, Nero, or Roxio.

  • Late 2012 MBA: 80-90C Idle Temperatures... Bit high!?

Just looking for some opinions on this, though fairly confident this isn't right...
Recently, my MBA has started getting really hot, when it is doing nothing. It's been sitting mostly at about 88/89C, sometimes passing 91, sometimes going to about 79/80...
Can't imagine this is right for a laptop, sitting on a desk, doing nothing? My iMac on the other hand, during video editing, stays at about 36-45C, hence thinking this is wrong...
Had a quick look around, tried resetting the SMC I think it was, which solved this for some people but it hasn't worked for me... Any suggestions on things I could try, or is this one for AppleCare and Club Genius?

Cheers for both of those suggestions, thought I had it as at the time iTunes was taking about 95% of the CPU, presumably because I've just started using iTunes match...
For a couple of days it was ok, but it's gone back to normal, literally turned the laptop on from being properly shut down, not just asleep and within a few minutes of literally just being turned on and doing nothing, just Finder, it's back up to 87C..  After a couple of minutes it has dropped to 60C, which is an improvement on what it used to do, but still seems very high for a computer that's doing nothing?
    Cheers again for your help

  • PSE 8 - win. 7 prof 64 bit - high res. - book?

A couple of questions here... Just ordered Photshop Elements 8 after purchasing new computer with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.  From what I read on MS, it will be compatible????
Will PSE 8 be able to utilize all of the features of
    a) Windows 7 Prof 64-bit and
    b) my computer's high resolution of 1920 x 1080???
I ask because I have issues with some older programs having fuzzy text, and want to make sure that photographs will show up with their best resolution and quality for accurate editing.
(I also ask if anyone recommends a good instructional manual/book for PSE that would teach various step-by-step directions for editing in PSE up to or thru version 8?)
    Thanks everyone.
    ramacorky

PSE 8 should run fine on Windows 7 64-bit.  Regarding 64-bit, see this FAQ:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_PSE_and_Vista
PSE will use a 1920 x 1080 monitor just fine.

  • Is an HDD temperature of 68C too high?

So, not too long ago I decided to add my hard disk temperatures using HDDtemp to my conky.
After a good two hours of having the computer on, the temperature of my HDD was already at 68C!
This is in a desktop system.
I used hddtemp to obtain the temperature figures:
    ~#hddtemp /dev/sda
    /dev/sda: Maxtor 7Y250M0: 68°C
This computer is 7 years old now and nothing at all has been changed in the cooling setup from the stock setup.
Is running my hard disk at such high a temperature a good idea? Will it damage the hard disk (I do not back up my data at all) or cause a hard drive failure?
    Scott

Published specs are available at this store: http://www.superwarehouse.com/Maxtor_Ma … /ps/295212.  It shows 141 °F or 55 °C as the top operating temperature.
My rule of thumb for temperatures for electronics is "if you can't hold it in your hands, it's too hot".  60 °C is normally the hottest temperature anyone can hold.  You quickly drop things that are warmer.
Google studied hard drive failures and published their findings.  Higher temperatures on older drives were related to increased failures. However, they stated:
Surprisingly, we found that temperature and activity levels were much less correlated with drive failures than previously reported.
The Google paper can be downloaded from here: http://labs.google.com/papers/disk_failures.html.

  • Temperature values at high fixed values

I have two 1102/1302 with 6363 that has worked fine in the past.  After some down time I ran the vi and did not get correct values.  I investigated the virtual channels in MAX and the table has high fixed values for all channels (218-219 C) at room temperature and they are static values.  It would seem these values are not being read from any connected TCs.  Any idea as to what could cause this behavior?

    teslac,
How long has the system been sitting?
Make sure that the hardware is physically set up correctly. Also, make sure that the correct thermocouple type is selected on your Virtual channel.
Do you get the same values if you run the MAX Test panels?
Do you get the same values if you run the example LabVIEW Program “Thermocouple - Continuous Input”

i would ask the mods to reset your noise margin to 6 which will increase your connection speed.  also many 21CN adsl2+ connections are running on noise margins of 3db so with a stable connection it may well be that your connection will do likewise given more time
    contact mods
can take up to 3 working days for mods to contact you

  • K8n Diamond Plus Temperatures. Are mine high?

so i have been running speedfan lately and i thought it was giving me incorrect readouts on my temps inside my case.  so i ran Hmonitor and i am getting the same temps.  im not to sure on what certain temps actually are, nor do i know their typical range on my current system.
Temps at idle typing this right now:
Mainboard: 47C    (what is the mainboard temp actually?  what part of the actual mainboard is it reading from, southbridge, etc..)
CPU1:        31C   (this is my 3500+ 939 Newcastle chip, even though in the BIOS it says i am running at 36C)
AUX:         41C    (what is this temp actually recording from?)
Core:       42-45C (this is my northbridge i know that, but is it typical of the NB to change temps so quickly even at idle?)
    Fan speeds at idle:
    Sys Fan(Northbridge cooler):   ~5820rpm  (Hmonitor says 5600rpm)
CPU fan:  ~1440rpm  (this i am assuming is standard for a zalman 92mm heatsink
im really just wondering what the mainboard temp ACTUALLY is and if i should be worried about it being so high.  also what is the auxillary temp measing, is my northbridge supposed to change temps so dramatically, and thats about it.  oh also, i am running 2 7900gt's SLI's which hover around 50-60C so im not worried about them.  also my ambient is around 21-24C(my assumptions since i dont actually have a temp in my room)

afaik there is no temp sensor in the northbridge. the temp sensor for the system is located on the mobo, usually in close proximity to the northbridge. the other readings you might have can be the following: GPU core, HDD and CPU.

  • HT1998 I have what I believe, though I am not certain, an Airport Extreme 1st generation. My internet speeds on my hardwired pc are running in half and a bit higher on my Mac Pro. Cable claims it is a problem with the router since I can bring the PC speed

Bear with me please as I have never used the community before. I have an Airport Extreme 1st generation at least I think it is a 1st generation. My PC is hardwired and my Mac Pro, obviously wireless. I have 50/8 mbps service but the speeds on my PC run around 20/8 and 30/8 on the Mac. Cable says it is a problem with the airport since my PC speeds rise to 50 when the airport is disconnected. Does anyone know what to do?

The simplest way would be to perform a "soft" reset on the AEBS. This type of reset will temporarily disable all of the AEBS's passwords up to five minutes. This should give you ample time to access the AEBS with the AirPort Utility to change it.
If you don't want to actually change the password, then you can possibly retrieve the password from the OS X Keychain, as follows:
Run the Keychain Access utility found in \Applications\Utilities
In the category column (on the left side of the utilities' window), select "All Items."
In the right column look for your Network Name. It will have a "Kind" of "AirPort network password."
Double-click on your network name listing.
    Click on "Show password."
    Enter your Mac's administrator's password
Your wireless network's password should now be displayed.

  • I am trying to get my application (e-qip )"We did not detect that your web browser supports 128-bit high encryption.Have trouble "Continue" button below, you will need to upgrade your web browser to a version that supports 128-bit encryption"

I am trying to complete my TSA job application and it is a requirement to complete e-qip questions?

That website is using an old method of checking the encryption level a web browser is capable of, it mentions Netscape 6.x/7 which are like from 6 to 7 years ago. It looks like they're checking for a '''U''' in the User Agent string. That particular letter in the UA goes back to the days of export controls for encryption software, but those controls expired over 15 years ago. That letter has been virtually meaningless since then. <br />
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent
You can fool that website into thinking that you are using an older version of Firefox with this extension. <br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/ <br />
    Use this for a custom UA string that should work there:<br /> '''Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.18) Gecko/20110614 Firefox/3.6.18'''
Or just use IE for that one website.

  • Why am I billed $75 for using 250 minutes, no data and unlimited texts? Isn't that a bit high? Can I refuse to pay this bill because it is outrageous?

Who can I complain to about being billed way too much for way too little?

I don't know, can your employer refuse to pay you because they think you are paid too much and work too little??? Yes of course you can refuse to pay your bill, your service will be suspended, your account will go to collections and your credit rating will take a hit.
Good luck with the next provider. Unfortunately because of your unpaid bill at Verizon you may be forced to supply a security deposit.

  • PCH sensor temperature

I use iStats Menu for temperature monitoring, and two days ago, when i wake up my MacBook Pro Retina 15", istats initially reports CPU and PCH die temperature of 129 º  Celsius, although CPU and PCH proximity censors are in the 45 º C vicinity. CPU usage is around 1 %. Should i be worried or is it just a glitch in initialization of istats from sleep?
    Thanks in advance
    JCK

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First of all, check that the temperature that iStat Menus shows isn't in Fahrenheit. 129ºF are 53ºC, a normal temperature (maybe a bit high, but nothing to worry about).
If they are in Celsius, I would think that sensors may be damaged, more if you feel that your fans are working.
I recommend you to run Apple Hardware Test and make an extended test. To start Apple Hardware Test, hold Option and D keys while your computer is starting. When it finishes, if you see an error, copy it here, but it will probably indicate that the sensor is damaged

  • Compaq Presario CQ56 beep while working and working temperature

    Hi,
I Have a Compaq Presario CQ56 with Windows 7 Ultimate (32Bit), ADM V140 CPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and an AMD Mobility Radeon HD 4250, and a SAMSUNG 250GB HDD.
While i am playing some random games like Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed World on Low-Medium graphics, i hear a long beep and then a click from the laptop, somewhere from the DVD-RW Drive. It only occured twice do far. The laptop works normal tho after the beeps.
Also, the temerature is worrying me, it goes up to 75C while playing, but goes down to 60-65 while internet and around 54 while idle (lid closed).
Sorry for my grammar i am Serbian.
    Thanks in advance!

Those temperatures are a bit high, but still well within normal range. We see a lot of people reporting temperatures in the 90C ranges. The beep is a mystery to me.
