Hello !!
I am using them and have no problems with them....
But they are not faster than 6.85, they contain only minor bugfixes.
Its very important to deinstall all nforce drivers and the nvidia firewall, before installing this new drivers.
Otherwise the system will crash on bootup.
Greetz
I have an SATA hard drive and if I uninstall the previous nForce drivers first then the system won't boot.  Are you supposed to reboot the machine before installing the new drivers?

  • New BIOS for Diamond Plus any problem noted yet.

Anybody using the new BIOS for the Diamond Plus Version 3.09 BIOS.
I have got it installed and upgrade went will, but be ready for changes.  Go over you BIOS Setting each and every parameter, because they have changed a lot of the defaults, like all Network controllers are disabled by default.  The have made changes to the Hyper Transport Defaults setting they are what they should have been in the first place.
Marvel Yukon network controller drivers of old will not will not load and MSI USA download for the driver is off line. Tw site is not down but not taking new requests for the drive because of traffic load.  Old nVidia network drives loaded after I enabled on board LAN on in the BIOS.
That, all I have checked out so far, Oh yes the changes in Memory BIOS setting, but have not been able to check all of the out.  If some one with experience with memory BIOS settings could check them out and give report back it would be helpful.
We asked for it now we got it, for better or worse.

When submitting a problem, include a complete list of your system components; include part numbers, all Power Supply Voltages, and their output ratings.  It is almost impossible to estimate what your problem is without knowing something about it. Here is the link to the web site.

Wow, funny how 2 gigs still needs a paging file with a standard desk top!
Of course, even funnier just how fast 2 gigs can be eat'n up with 3d rendering and audio/video encoding!
Just blowing my mind, remember when 32meg RAM was considered over kill?
    Ah those 3.1 days
that's not a bios issue it is a xp home and xp pro 32 bit issue.
if you want 4 gigs you need a 64 bit OS like server 2003 or xp pro 64 bit.
Yes it will run in dual channel but due to limitations you will have it run in ddr 333 *UNLESS* you have single sided 1 gig sticks.
Even with 4 gigs you will see slightly less than 4 gigs in bios, as a portion is Used there. once in windows you will see the full 4 gigs.
btw I am on my old P4 3.0e prescott as i sent in my two 7800gt's for the step up program.
They should be here by the 31st.
For what it is worth I have had 4 gigs working on this mb and cpu using ms's free dl of their 64 bit os.
It took me for ever to figure out why i was only getting 333 ddr and 3.5 gigs. this was 18 months ago.
When i ran a dual boot of the xp hom and xp 64 with 4 gigs, i did not see the support from my prefered software vendors.  So i sent back 2 gigs, and stuck with xp home. Now that i have the new amd i stepped up to xp pro 64 bit and love it.

  • MOVED: MSI TECHNICAL - URGENTLY NEED NEW BIOS FOR DIAMOND PLUS MOBO

This topic has been moved to BIOS.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=93688.0

We are having a issue here with the Nvidia raid changing the raid from raid 0 to raid 2 all by it's self. This has happend twice now on the Diamon Plus board. We have tried all kinds of drives. Sata 1 Sata 2 from 4 companys with no change. We are also having the op system Windows give errors that I have never seen in 20 years of building computers .
We have contacted tech support by phone and they have been great trying to help us , but to no good out come. Tech support told us here at the shop that this is an issue that they are working on and trying to find a fix.
This board is a great gamer board if you can find a build of parts that it is stable with, but if not it is a on going problem.
We are also getting the boot error on the Raid that you are on some systems that we build.
I will say again that MSI tech support has been great in working with us on this, And we are also starting to see errors on systems that we put out with the Diamond Plus when the first came out for use. Systems that have been stable for about two months are starting to come back with issues with the drives and that is strange as one would think it would stay stable after this long running.
But in looking back on what has happend , all the issues seem to be due to the Harddrives or Drive controlers.  Now that could encompass the buss or buss controler and or many other factors. But we do think the problem is with one of these.
I use the diamond plus for my own gaming system, and it is fast. I love it and the changes I can make in the bios. But I cannot use the raid on the board . I have tired and it was not stable , and after two reloads I went to a fast 300 gig single sata drive. After that I have had no issues at all. And with this drive I am running as fast as I did with the raid. I would recomend that others take this route till a fix is found.

  • Heatsinks for Diamond Plus

    Hello,
I'm looking at upgrading my stock HSF to a better one.  I'm wondering between these 3 fans:
    Thermalright XP-120
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835109118R
    Thermalright SI-120
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835109123
    Zalman 9500 LED
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118223
Are there any problems installing these 3 on the Diamond Plus and which one would you guys recommend?
    Which cools better?
    Thanks for your input

With the xp-120, you "might" have problems and you "might" not.  The si-120 was created to remove any doubt so if your deciding between those 2, the si-120 is your choice.  It sits high enough not to even have a chance to interfere with any on-board components.
I've heard that the Zalman needs a little Dremel work to fit with this board.
Heres a thread on nothing but cooling solutions for the K8N Diamond Plus.
    http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=415145
There is mostly a lot of talk about the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 64, but if you look through I do believe they mention the Zalman and the Thermalrights enough for you to get an idea.  iirc, the Zalman and dremel comment is toward the last half of that thread.  I didn't have time to read it all again before I gave the link.

  • DDR voltage for Diamond plus

Corsair says mem. voltage sholud be 2.75 volts but bios auto detects it at 2.6. Went to cell menu under select ddr voltage and hit enter but no sub menu comes up?? So how can i change the voltage???

Quote from: Wangmonkey on 19-March-06, 09:28:03
2.6 is the default Mem voltage.  There is a OC Diamond bios with more headroom on Mem Voltage along with some additional things.  Sorry dont have the link but you should be able to find it in the Diamond Forum.
he's talking about diamond plus. afaik diamond plus bios lets you set the memory voltage up to 3.4V. corsairs are know to have a problem with the mobo, since their spd settings are not read correctly. that's why you have to manually set the voltages to the ones recommended on the corsair site.

  • I need drivers for Diamond Speedstar A90 vers. 5060

I am trying to install solaris7 on intel and it's failing because my vides card's (Diamond Speedstar A90 version 5060) drivers are not included on the CD. Does anyone know where I could I find the "Supplemental Drivers"?
I also tried the installation with an S3 Savage4 card (16M) and did not succeed; any help with this?
If I have to buy a new card with is the best card used by solaris on intel?
    Thank you,
    Mathias.

CArds supported by Solaris are listed in the applicable HCL at
    soldc.sun.com/support
Solaris 8, for which the media kit can be obtained for $75, has a little additional graphics support (for HCL see above).
Finally, third party drivers are available e.g. from www.xig.com or xfree86.org

  • Help needed for Diamond PLus

I jost got the board yesterday. Tried on board SB sound card. Found that the microphone recording volume was way too low. Yes I turned on +20db boost (without the boost the mic is almost like muted) and pulled the volume slide to highest positions. But still I have to put the mic very close to my mouth, almost into my mouth to get voice go into my computer.  I tried driver in CD, driver from MSI website and driver from Creative site, all the same.  I also tried different mics, still no change. Anyone has the same issue or has any solutions?  I'll be very grateful.
Other 2 minor issues (maybe not the issue), my NB temp is aroung 50C (47, 48) when idle, is that normal?  My +5V voltage read from Corecenter is +5.33, that is 6% more!  But same PSU on other boards, it was read less than 1%. BTW, my PSU is OCZ Modstream 450.

    Guys, thanks for the reply.
To meta_sin: No, I am not running SLI. I only have 1 eVga 7800GT installed. Did you read the degree number of your NB?
To Stick: Which part is the bracket you mentioned? Is it on the up side or back side of MB? About that mic, I just bought another mic headset, little better, at least my friends can hear me when doing online chatting. But still I think this on-board sound card has lower recording volume than averge.
Another weird thing. If during power up, by pressing DEL to get into BIOS setting, then from health status, I can see the CPU temp is about 40C. But after get into OS and read from Core Center, the CPU temp actually dropped to around 35C.  Or maybe Core Center just reads the CPU temp ,   deducts couple of degrees then shows it to you?

  • Nforce drivers, worth it?

i have a linux box running on an nvidia e-7150 nForce 630i motherboard with an intel core quad.
i use the nvidia display drivers and my own tweaks to xorg.conf to get video the way i want.  for sound, i use alsa and for ethernet i'm running the sky2 intel driver (i think).  i like to keep my system as free (as in speech) as possible, but i need that video driver.
    my question:
is there any compelling reason(s) to download/install/configure the nforce drivers for the nvnet and nvsound modules? i've read most of the documentation about how nvsound needs oss but i could use alsa-oss emulation etc. but is it even worth the trouble?
my system is performing flawlessly now but my card has 7.1 surround sound and optical out that i'm not using and i think the nforce drivers are the only way to utilize that, right?  i don't think the nvnet will give me any significant improvements but i'm wondering if anyone has experience with these drivers / this mobo and would like to offer some insight.
    thanks in advance.

thanks for the reply.  i've had issues in previous distros where playing multiple sound sources at once would kill sound in any program thereafter until a reboot.  at that time i didn't quite understand the whole alsa / oss / pulse audio interaction though.  my only real concern for trying out these drivers was breaking my system back into that situation because i was quite happy to find that problem didn't exist when i set up my alsa-only arch box.
the idea of 7.1 surround sound enticed me; but i think you're right, "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

save apropriate drivers to the floppy disk provided. mark on the disk which version they are and when they were released.
1st enable all sata devices in bios. Enable NV raid and sil raid in bios if nessisary.
2nd set boot priority to dvd/cd.
    3 save and exit
4 put in xp/xp64 bit install disk
5 as it boots up the lower left hand screen will say "hit f6 for additional drivers" or something similar.  Hit f6
6 press S to load drivers from the floppy.
    7 put correct disk in.
8 Select the nessisary drivers.  For NVraid there are 2 drivers to load from the disk. I did it by loading (1) then (2)
9 It will eventually reboot. when it does hit f10 to enter nvraids config. Set up your raid set up. exit out
10 continue with xp/xp64 bit install.
I've used sil in the past and it was nearly identicle. Have fun

  • K8N Diamond Plus SiI 3132 WinXP x64 non-RAID drivers?

    Hi
I'm looking for non-RAID drivers for the SiI 3132 on my K8N Diamond Plus for WinXP x64 (I managed to fine the x32 ones and they work fine so I know it's not the drives or the moboard.  I tried the drivers on MSI's website.
I've searched around the forum and followed the leads onto planetamd64 and the Asus website for them, but to no avail.
To be precise, I have selected non-RAID in the BIOS, and the drives to show up on on the POST screen, but do not appear in Win 64; there is the classic exclamation mark in the device manager for a 'Mass Storage Device'.  I don't want to concatenate the drives in RAID mode, so I did not try booting with that selected in the BIOS lest it destroy the stuff I have on them.
[I miss the simple JBOD option in the 3114...]
    Any help gratefully appreciated!
    thx
    bn

    Hi all,
    I solved the problem.
You won't find the drivers under the drivers section of SiI's website but you will in the Knowledge Base.  Look under Serial ATA | COntrollers | SiI3132, you'll find article 11043 'SATA 64 bit Windows IDE driver - released' dated 8/19/05.  Click under that and you'll find a file 3132_win64_idrv_1004_logo.zip.  It's what you need.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • K8N Diamond Plus' Audio drivers 4 Vista RC1???

Guys i need to find drivers for RC1 Vista for my built in Mother board creative Audigy SE on K8N Diamond Plus. Can any one help me where to find these drivers????????

well i installed the vista RC1 and downloaded the Audigy Se's vista RC1 drivers from creative's  web site and i installed it on my system and it detected my motherboard's audigy SE as audigy live 24 bit but there was no sound so i updated the driver and i gave the path of my window's xp driver and it worked for windows vista RC1. and my sound card is now dectected as audigy SE not live 24 bit. thanks to msi for making a driver which works with both xp and vista RC1. i ll try to install the Xp's driver directly on Vista with setup.exe, and will see if this will give me all the sound configrations which we do see in windows xp. But i still request MSi to provide us good vista drivers.
    I have one question,
CAN WE INSTALL AUDIGY SE's DRIVERS DOWNLOADED FROM WWW.CREATIVE.COM FOR AUDIGY SE BUILT IN SOUND CARD OF DIAMOND PLUS MOTHERBOARD(FOR WINDOWS XP) ?

  • Power supply needed for MS-7220 (Diamond Plus) and others.

The following statement is taken form the K8B Diamond Plus Manual.
For ATX 12V power connection, it should be greater than 18A.
If I am interpreting correctly, the ATX 12V connector should have dedicated to it a minimum of 18A.
My first, question is if the Power Supply has two or more rails, how do you know the power dedicated to the ATX 12 connector on the Power Supply?
Second, if a +12V rail is not dedicated the connector, how do you know what is connected to each rail of the Power Supply?
This maybe the source of why many are saying, they have more stable system performance when using single rail Power Supplies.
I have tried eleven different manufactures to get more detailed Power Supply specifications, but no responses; today through February 1st is the Chinese New Year.
Those of you running the K8B Diamond Plus, what are you using for Power Supplies and are you having any instability problem?
One thing I did find curious was that going the manuals and in most all of the newer Socket 939 motherboards have this specification, but nothing in the motherboards specifications of on the MSI Web Site about this required and the are a lot of 500-600 Watt power supplies sold that do not meet this specification.
The statement Total Wattage does not mean a thing has even more meaning to me now.
Are we going to have to know the Current Rating of each cable on the output of a Power Supply now to insure we are purchasing the correct Power Supply?
    Roger

    Roger
Ihave a Tagan 580w U22 with switchable dual/combined +12v rails and it is very stable, set it combined for 35a.
Only thing to ponder was the 4/8 pin +12v/p4 connector, power supply has the correct split 2x4pin connectors so does the board but there is a little removable cover over 4 pins,so thinking MSI fitted it there for a reason I have fitted only one 4 pin connector,no problems as yet.
Think you may well have a point re the 18a.
I have just given my son my old sli platinum/cpu/heatsink/ram/vga card, this setup ran  250/11/4 @ 1.4v & ram 2.5 3 3 7 1.1 @ 2.75v with the Tagan.this setup now fitted in his case but with a dual 18a rail Enermax and he can't o/c stable to the old settings.Case has better cooling than the wavemaster it all came from.
Dont think the enermax is bad just that it supplies the power a different way.
