[nForce] K7N2-ILSR Problem with FSB

i am having trouble with the above
if i set the FSb at anything over 167 in the bios the system will boot as far as windows then hang at the welcome screen,
if the FSb is set at anything below 167 everything seems fine
specs of the pc are
AMD 3200+ athlon xp
MSI K7n2-ILSR
Tt Volcano7
2x512 MB PC3200 Geil Duel channel
Nvidia GeForce2 mx400
1x160GB maxtor sata Primary Master
Sony DVD RW DW-U10A Secondary Master
TDK CDRW480 Secondary Slave
Realtek AC97 Onboard Audio
650w poewe supply with triple fans
Windows XP SP2
ps memory runs fine at 2*200 no problem

Does problem exist when running fsb:dram at 1:1?
same problem whichever ratio is set
List max amps for psu for 3 different rails; supply make/model also; 650W sounds impressive but it might be a Q-tec
it is a q-tec supply ? i gather there is a known problem with these ?
maxtor sata on IDE master? typo?

Is this new system? Or added new component
system previously had an amd 1800 chip and 333memory and ran stable
Is cpu/heatsink correctly greased/fitted?
cpu is seated corectly and thermaltake silver heat paste used
What are temps in bios for cpu/system?
CPU running at 44 degrees chassis running at 34 degrees

Load the nForce Drivers from nVidia and the Catalist Drivers from ATI and see what you get. (Install them in that order.)

Weird Problem with FSB setting

Hi all,
I've just come across a weird problem with FSB setting.
If I set FSB to 229 my machine runs @ 1.6Ghz only.
When I set to 230 it runs @ 3.2Ghz (as it should).
Any ideas what could be causing this?

MSI P45 NEO2-F Problem with FSB 480+

Hey
Maybe someone of you can help me with this mobo. I try use fsb 500 with stable. My best @ its now 445x7,5 on my E8200
If i set 500x6 i have stable in orthox on 3-4h but if i try play game or i try use 3dmark system down.
Help please if someone know whats going on here.

Lycan i use now bios from oroginal msi site. its 3.3 - and on this bios i have full stable fsb 500 in auto set of course.
Even more i can say you - copmuter lunch on fsb 550 and GTL still on auto - but its unstable.

[nForce] K7N2 SATA problem

Have looked through these forums and havent found my problem posted yet.
I have a new seagate 160gig SATA2 hd and the MB will not see it on a reboot and system hangs. If I turn off the power the HD is seen and works fine (have installed xp) but when the computer is restarted the drive is gone as well as the rest of the IDE devices are detected realy slow then it stops when trying to detect the SATA drive. I have tried several things so far and dont know the direction I should take now.
#1 tried drive in both SATA1 and 2 ports.
#2 removed IDE HDs
#3 Differnt power connector.
System specs:
K7N2 Delta2 LSR V11.5
AMD XP3200
2 512meg DDR400
nvidia fx5700 vc
SB audigy
DVD ROM
CD-RW
WD 60gig
Seagate 30gig
enermax 475w PS
3.3v 34a, 5v 40a, 12v1 16a, 12v2 15a

Wonkanoby had a very consise description on how to get SATA2 working on "older" systems, thought it might have been for VIA mobos. Not sure. I'll make a search, and don't hang up.

It is strange that boot is prevented, I agree. Is Other devices (or a similar title) first in the boot sequence?

K8MM-ILSR PROBLEM with ATI Radeon 9550 of 256MB AGP port 8X...

Hello, I have a motherboard MSI-K8MM-ILSR, when use the onboard video card works correctly, but the problem begins when I install a ATI Radeon 9550 of 256MB, is AGP port 8X and has its dissipator, in other machines it works well and your temperature is ok. My monitor is Samsung Sync Master 793s at 75 Hz. The Problem is the following: the machine crash and the video is distorted and it is congealed, this happens after playing a little, the video card drivers are updated (Catalyst 5,6), I'm use Windows XP Service Pack 1, Thanks... and excuse me my English...

Some other options you can try:
- uninstall the previous vid-drivers and use driver cleaner software to uninstall everything
- disable onboard video in the BIOS;
- set fastwrite to disabled/no (if it's there)
- set AGP Aperture Size to 128 (if it doesn't do anything, go to 64);
- set AGP port to 4x.
- Start hoping .... good luck!
(BTW, the last two options may cause your system to operate slightly slower, but it's hardly worth mentioning ... )

K7N2G ILSR - Problems with Geil PC2700 memory

I am having issues with my k7n2g and its ability to init GEIL memory. I can not get the system to init the memory consistently, have the time it will just hang. Since the company Xtreme Gear will only swap for additional geil memory, I would like tomake this work. Any ideas on the exact settings for the memory? I have tried adjusting the voltage to 2.7 as suggested on the geil memory package but that does not help.

Possible K7N2 Delta-ILSR Problem?

Hi all.
I'm after some advice, if I may be so bold.
As you can see from my sig, i'm running a k7n2 Delta ilsr mobo with a 333MHZ Athlon XP3000+, which is being correctly reported.
I've got 2x 512Mb DDR400 modules in slots 1 & 2.
A powercolor Radeon 9600 Pro 256Mb in the AGP slot.
My problem is this :
When playing a game (IE BF1942, Tiger Woods 2004, NFS Underground), the game will play fine for the first few minutes, then will either exit to the desktop or reboot the machine.
I've updated all the drivers I can think of (Latest NVidia nforce drivers, latest ATI catalyst, latest mobo bios)
I've done a burn in test in SiSoft Sandra, which doesnt reveal anything out of the ordinary.
Now i'm stumped.
Any1 got any ideas where I can go from here?

List Power supply amp ratings from sticker on its side for 3.3 volt, 5 volt and 12 volt. mim is 3.3 24 amps, 5 30 amps and 12 16 amps these or mim more is better.

Lower memory timings, if Traz 6 3 3 2.5 try 7 3 3 2.5 or 8 4 4 2.5 or lower cas to 3 if 2.5.
Check IRQ should have 22 if not reload XP with APIC enabled in bios and PNP disabled. PNP is a hold over from 95, PC2001 APIC Standard works much better with XP/2000.
Even if ram shows errors it may not be bad may just not support the Nvidia chip controlers.
Up grade Nvidia unified drivers from Nvidia web sit not the one on MSI Nvidia one newer.

Do you have the lattest drivers for sound card I've had them cause lots of problems if driver not compatiable.
Flash bios to 7.6 if haven't done so yet.

Hi, I'm Borislav Kiso from Yugoslavia and I have small problem with my mainboard "k7n2-vb". If it's a problem, i hope that you will tell me the answer. Mainboard permanently generate, with out any rules, bips. Even when I move my data from cd on hdd or when I play some game or install some programs.

Configuration works with no other problems so i think that it's a small problem but I can't find any specification on net.

Problem with K7N2 delta

Im having a problem with the K7N2 Delta. It was working just fine and i went into my Bios and saw that my FSB was only running at 133mgz. So i turnt it up to 200mgz. Now the darn think hangs and wont turn on. I tried to clear the Cmos and set the bus jumper to safe mode but then the computer just beeps. I dont understand what i did wrong. Any suggestions?

put j10 jumkper in safe mode
boot and put it back to 133
then shut down and put it in user mode

Hi, I installed the previous version of the nForce unified drivers (2.03) and I have had problems with the latest version of the unified drivers also (2.41). These both have ethernet drivers "3.13 (WHQL) + TOT .NVU"
They seem to be the ethernet drivers fault. If I install one of the latest versions of the unified drivers, windows does not boot up, it just hangs at windows logo. ?(
If I remove the ethernet cards drivers using safe Mode, the system will boot up fine. I also have to re-install older versions of the ethernet drivers to get the system to boot.
I am using the K7N2 motherboard with onboard ethernet.
Any reasons/fixes would be great , cheers :]

Well, I've just bought a MSI K7N2 Delta-L, beautifull board, with 2 x 256MB DDR400...
My actual PC, so:
MSI K7N2 Delta-L
Athlon XP 1700+ 1.5v DLT3C JIUHB
Thermaltake Volcano 7+
2 x 256MB PC3200 VM
Well, I updated bios to the last one (5.4) and all is running ok... but I have some problems.
1) I have problems when I try to overclock. One ot them, is that when I change a multiplier, o up the fsb... I must change jumpers, etc. etc. coz pc doesnt boot ... but later when I played with jumpers, it boot at speed that I wanted, like 10x200, etc. I dont know how to explain this problem! :(
2) Well, another problem is with "By H/W" option in vCore and Multiplier. When I select this option, the vCore sometimes go to 1.8v ... and when I select 1.8v, if it wants, its go to 1.6v in win... I dont know what to do, bios do what he wants.
3) Well, the last and I think most important problem, is when I try to change CAS Latency. I have 2.5-3-3-7 DDR400 memory. When I try to change CAS Latency to 2, in bios, its all right, it's boots, and figures CAS 2. But when I enter windows, ALL programs, says that CAS Latency is 2.5 !!! I tried lowering FSB to 133, and trying again CAS 2, but nothing, still CAS2.5 in win. I runned benchmarks, but no perfomance gaining with BIOS CAS2. What happens!!?? Another thing, was that if I put in BIOS, AUTO, when I chane FSB to 233, CAS Latency goes to 3, when I put FSB to 200, CAS Latency goes to 2.5, when I put FSB to 166, CAS Latency remains in 2.5, when I put FSB to 133, IT STILL BEEING in 2.5 .. !! It doesnt change... the same in FSB 100.
HELP!!! and thanks a lot :(

K7N2 ILSR and Coolermaster Aero 7 Problems?

do the K7N2 ILSR support the Coolermaster Aero 7 LITE ? Cause I have one of those, and I wont change to another MSI if I cant use that, its brand new :( Also, would there be any problems with my new GFX5900 SPVTD, also this is MSI.
cause when look at this I se that there are alot of those conductors(?) behnd the AGP slot, wont my card break them in the insertion phase?
