Nforce system driver query

Hi,
Could someone tell me which is the latest/best Nforce system driver? Is it the 2.29 one on this site, or is there a better one somewhere? Basically I want the best driver.
Also, is the 2920 VGA driver on this site just the old Nvidia driver that is now up to 30.30?
Sorry, I'm just a bit confused.

NVIDIA nForce System Management Controller: Windows 7 driver?

I have a Fujitsu Siemens PC, Amilo Desktop Pi 3630 A, running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit,
which I would like to update (preferably without reinstall) to Windows 7.
When I checked Fujitsu's website and also by mail contact, I only got the response
"Your system is not certified for Windows 7"!
So I ran "Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor", which said that I can upgrade!
The only issue is that it requires an update to the driver for the
"NVIDIA nForce System Management Controller" [current version is 5.1.2600.158],
but Microsoft directs me to THIS site.
Here I search for a suitable driver for my motherboard, which according the tech spec's is
MB MS-7504PV (or MS-7504VP-PV) with chipset NVIDIA nForce 630i,
but no luck there. The MSI Live Update Online plug-in does not find anything on my Mainboard.
Over at NVIDIA's site I can find a driver for nForce 630i but only paired with GeForce 7xxx,
and I don't think I need a complete motherboard driver package.
Where can I find the correct driver?
Or do I dare try a Windows 7 update anyway?
What can go wrong?

You do not have an MSI Retail Product but a mainboard produced exclusively for the OEM Market. Neither MSI nor this forum provides end-user support for OEM products. That is also why MSI Live Update does not find anything for this particular platform (OEM). You need to contact Fujitsu Siemens for assistance (and this include BIOS Updates and drivers).

Detect "real" system Drive in WinPe

There are Task Sequence for Migration and have vbs script that try detect system drive:

But if we had a lot drives with folder "Windows" on it, this script not work properly. Because system drive can be not first and not last in drive letters in WinPe. Has anybody solved this problem?

You should propably query for whats stored in bootmgr (bcdedit), and determinismin by that what partitioning stores the one you're looking for..

Event 123 - The DSM service was delayed by nn seconds for a driver query/download/install on device then screen freezes

The reader's digest version of the saga is I received a Dell Vostro 460 with a wiped disk. The PC emitted beep code indicating PSU or RAM issue when turned on. After resolving the marginal power supply with a new replacement, I installed Windows 7
but as soon as I would launch IE the system would freeze. All of the BIOS & device drivers are current. I tried upgrading to Windows 8 but kept getting the black screen right after the install process finished installing the devices. I had
to resort to a clean install. Having successfully install Windows 8.1 I have been able to a get to the desktop, however every time I launched IE my system freezes in the same way as with Windows 7. I installed a different browser and used that
to research the event log errors. As the system freezes, I see warning log entries with event id 123 entries:
Event 123 - The DSM service was delayed by 125 seconds for a driver query/download/install on device 'ACPI\GENUINEINTEL_-_INTEL64_FAMILY_6_MODEL_42_-_________INTEL(R)_CORE(TM)_I7-2600_CPU_@_3.40GHZ\_8'

There are more but these warnings are stacked in groups of two or three then the error & critical entries indicating I did a hard reboot.
When I use Firefox browser to open several tabs everything is fine until I stream audio/video then the same freeze screen happens and i have to reboot. Anything you can offer will be very much appreciated.

'PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0423 is a graphic card driver from the vendor’s official webpage.
Besides as you mentioned in the post, it happened when you launch Internet Explorer, there is an accelerated Graphics item in the Internet Explorer, the settings should be changed, please follow this way:
Go to the control panel, then select the Internet Option, go to advance, just like the screenshot below:
select the checkbox if it is empty, anyhow make it different from the previous settings, then restart your computer to see the result.

I was looking at nforcersHQ and saw where people were getting a performance boost using the nforce IDE driver.
Is this true with the nf2 boards?
Does it work on just plain nforce 1 boards?

I'd like to create a SCCM Query and report that will list all the System Driver names and Driver Versions of a targeted Computer name in the collection.
We are unsure what WMI we need to call for the Driver Version ?
Some help on setting up the query would be appreciated.

Win32_PnPSignedDriver seems to have the strings we need but we found some info that made the implementation look difficult and un-recommend.

A forum poster mentioned MS say not to trust this class and are considering to remove it. But running the sample VBS file does still seem to work on Win8.1
To answer your question Jason, Basically I'd like to have a report on a selected Model of PC then search a list of PC names that will give me Device Name and Driver version. This will give us a clear picture of what drivers
and version are installed on PC's vs what drivers are in the Driver pack for the model in sccm. I would then be able to identify PC's that have unsupported hardware or unsupported driver versions installed as we test and lock our fleet down
to known good versions. It's possible for a 2nd level tech to update a PC without written authority or a user who has a PC with local admin access to deviate from the supported versions.

Logic crashing when booting from system drive clone

Hi,
So I've been copying system drive clones to another drive for backup, but I find when booting from the (internal HD) clone, Logic 9 will consistently crash on me when trying to open various brands/types of plug-ins.
For cloning I've tried SuperDuper, which I own, and Carbon Copy Cloner, which I'm running the 30 day trial of, and had identical results.
Yeah I know it's lame to be using Logic 9, but I have several important projects originally started on 9 that I need to be finishing up now, and those projects don't play nicely with Logic X.
I'd like to update my OS and Logic X versions, but want to have a working system clone before risking it.

Um right after posting the query I remembered what I had learned probably right here back in yesteryear, and that is there is one thing that doesn't translate in the clone.
When doing Get Info on the Logic 9 app, there is a check box for "Open in 32-bit mode". I need to have that unchecked, so I can run in 64-bit mode, but for the "clone", that box gets automatically checked, it is NOT actually a clone, hence the issue I was having with plug-ins causing crashes.
Un-checking that box on the clone solved my issue.

I had the same problem and finally solved it.
It is "funny" that CC doesn't ask you where to install apps. Or better to say, it asks you but doesn't care. In Creative Cloud desktop app/Preferences there is option to choose where you want apps to be installed, but they are still installed in C:/Program Files/....
How to install apps on secondary drive in just 3 steps:
1. Go to page Adobe CC 2014 Direct Download Links – Creative Cloud 2014 Release | ProDesignTools and download all apps that you will need.
2. Once downloaded, install it. During installation you will be asked where you want app to be installed (just like in any other "normal" installation)
3. Be happy

How can I get "all my files" to recognize files in a non system drive?

I use a Mac Pro with four internal drives, OSX 9.2. My system drive is an SSD so I keep user files on another drive in an adjacent bay.
Files in my non-system disc are not displayed in the "all my files" finder view. If I copy a file from the system disc to my user disc, the copy is not recognized, and when I trash the original, of course, there is no reference to either. If I search, spotlight finds it. This behavior seems to apply to all files and is regardless of anything selected in the sidebar before "all my files". I have not marked any files, folders or drives as private. I presume I must have a set a pref wrong. I would really appreciate any advice.

To change the program that .indd files default to when opened in OSX, right click on the .indd file > Open With > Other.
Then navigate to the version of InDesign that you want to open them with (I have CS6 installed but its the same for CS5). Make sure you have "Always Open With" selected.

TrueCrypt 6.2 system drive encryption hangs system sometimes a day

Hi,
I use truecrypt for years with xp and vista - last with Vista and T500, a few weeks ago I installed windows 7 x64 rtm. Every thing works fine and so I checked step by step my usual installed apps and tools.
I see win7 is not supported by truecrypt but seems to work fine. But sometimes (one or two a hour) my system hangs for about 10 to 40 seconds. So I decided to go step by step backwards and removed installed tools.
Removing TC solved my problem. Has anybody seen the same (TC6.2 on Win7 ult. x64 using Lenovo T500 with Intel SSD)?

I have exactly the same problem, but with a HP Elitebook 2530p
TrueCrypt 7.0a
Windows 7 x64
SSD drive, but had the same problem on my traditional HDD.
The interval is somewhat longer for me, maybe a few times a day.
And, just as you discovered, removing truecrypt system encryption resolves the issue. Wonder if it's an issue with just the system drive encryption thingy, or it affects all systems having encrypted volumes opened?

System and Query field disable in Data Manager for Netweaver BI

i have installed Xcelsius Engage Server 2008, when i try to add connection for SAP Netweaver BI from the Data Manager the dialog appears correctly but in Defination TAB only the Name field is enable both System and Query field is disable.
without that how can i configure the connection please let me know how to fix this issue.

Hi,
You give the name of the connection and then click on "Browse". It will then prompt you to connect to the desired system. Log in and then select the appropriate query you want to build a dashboard on.

What are the requirements in terms of system drive for visual studio 2013

the system drive. This link "visualstudio.com/products/visual-studio-professional-with-msdn-vs#Fragment_SystemRequirements" states the system requirement for visual studio pro 2013. However can somebody clarify what is needed in terms of system drive
requirement e.g. out of the 20 gb, how much is needed on the system drive.

Exact space required will vary widely based on installation components chosen and what you may have already installed on your system.
And When you install your VS in another Drive and run the VS installer, you can see system requirement in installation screen.
Because my work computer only have C Drive, I test the VS2012 professional installation in my home computer E drive. The Screen below:
I think the system requirement can also display when you install VS 2013.

you can but there may be some issues and a lot of files will be saved to your c drive, anyway.

I tried InterfacePtr<IDialog> iDialog((IDialog *)iWidgetParent->QueryParentFor(IID_IDIALOG));
It started giving me assert again.
Please give an example how to do it or which InterfacePtr constructor doesn't call AddRef().

Help - Unmounting external USB drives causes error to system drive

Hi,
I am having problems with my Mid 2009 24" iMac OS 10.6.7. When unmounting external drives(usb OR firewire), I get either a message that "your computer must be restarted...." or sometimes system freezes.
Upon reboot and examining system drive with Disk Utility, I will find file count and/or folder count errors. I must then reboot from my SL disc, repair the errors and reboot, after which the system seems to run without problems...
So far, upon reconnecting and mounting those external drives, I have found no errors or anything that would lead me to believe that they were not unmounted correctly...
Any help with this would be appreciated. It is beginning to be frustrating to go through this crash and repair of the system drive each time I try to use an external drive....

I have heard others with this problem so I am really surprised none here can help. My iMac has just crashed for the third time with corrupted disks because of this problem.
