Nforce2 and 8x agp

how do you get 8x agp to work its enabled in bios i have palitdaytona geforce4 440 mx 64 ddr 8x agp card
but sis sandra says im at 4x

I'm not sure if Sandra knows about 8x yet, take a look in the video cards settings tab under settings and advanced,(your card), it should at least show up as 8x under adapter information.

Mega 865 and MSI AGP TV-OUT

I've setup my 865 and added a MS-8606 TV tuner card and MSI AGP TV-OUT card. Has any one got this to work on to a TV set?
Presently I can't get any signal onto the TV even after I disabled the on board VGA (at the moment I have no video what so ever)
Also has any one out there successfully set up the TV tuner?
I can't seem to get a clear picture from the tuner.

I allready found the option to change between Cable and antenna. I'm allready using the cable option.
My tuner is also an 8606 by the way. Version 1.2
The thing is, that the few channels I can get, are spread around the complete bandwidth of the TV signals, so it's not a bad cable.
I'm also using an amplefier to boost the signal. Just to rule out weak signals.
Anyway, this topic is not about the tuner, it's the tv-out wich also doesn't work..
I've read that updating the bios from 1.0 to 1.2 doesn't work. Using another AGP card with tv-out did work, so the AGP slot seems to function.

30" Cinema Display and ATI AGP cards

I recently purchased a 30" Cinema display. My G5 Dual 2.0 GHz does not have the PCI-Express slot, only a AGP slot. After doing all my research, I arrived at 2 ATI cards (one for my PC and one for my G5). For the G5, I purchased the ATI X800XT Mac Edition. It clearly states it will support the 30" at 2560X1600 and it does say it is Dual link. The G5 will not display anything on any monitor (I also have a 20" cinema display). The other card I purchased for the PC is the ATI 9600 PRO MAC and PC edition. This card works flawlessly...on the PC (2560X1600), but limits display resolution to 1280X800 on the G5. My suspicion is that my G5 (I purchased in June 2004) does not present enough power at the AGP port, but I am only guessing.
Any thoughts?

From what I understand, there are four Mac/AGP cards that are compatible with the 30" Cinema Display:
1. ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Mac & PC Edition
2. ATI Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
3. Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT DDL
4. Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra DDL
(By the way, try finding that information anywhere on the Apple site. I've spent hours researching this.)
I can't find any of the above for sale anywhere, except for #4 for over $500. I'm considering returning the monitor. Will a Geforce 6800 GT from another company such as PNY or Asus work? How about the ATI Radeon X1300?

Nforce2 and IDE driver bluescreen

I have a K7n2g Nforce2-ISLR board and when I run the latest system driver update it blue screens on the IDE driver update. To confirm this I installed each driver one by one until I found the one causing the blue screen.
System config is a follows
1GB RAM
Radeon 800 pro 256MB
Onboard Audio w/realtek drivers
SATA Drives
TDK DVD writer
Floppy
Maxtor USB external 250GB Drive

i dont recommend the ide drivers.
they fail for alot of people including me so its better to stick to microsoft drivers.
get the unified driver package from http://www.nvidia.com instead.
dont flash bios in windows with live update.
seen alot of badflash when doing that.

How do I know if PAT is enabled and: 8x AGP, any good, or just unneccesary pain?

How can I check if PAT is enabled or not? What is MAT? Any other performance options I should turn on?
Also, is setting up 4x AGP a pain, because I have a Sapphire Atlantis ATI Radeon 9600XT and it is running at 4X AGP and I cannot simply change that by changing the value in the Display Setting. I know it can be changed, but is the work and effort to do so worth it? I want to check 3DMark03, so I think it might make a good 30 point difference at least...

6000+ 3DMark03 points? The only thing you got on me thats better that what I have if that damn GeForce FX 5950! Uh, I guess that counts the most... durn....

Problems with HDTV and an AGP Sawtooth

Hello, I have an old but solid G4 Sawtooth that I'm looking to use as a media PC plus a bit of browsing in a second room. I also have a Lexsor 32" LCD HDTV that I'm looking to use as the display, connecting via VGA. I have previously used this TV as a second monitor with my windoze machine and know that it willl handle 1024x768 @60hz, 1280x1024 @ 60hz, 640x480 @ 50 & 60hz and 1280x720@60hz. When I connect the tower to the screen and boot up it shows the Apple screen, chimes and does everything normally untill it gets to the point of login, at which the display goes wierd (out of proportion and flickery) then blank before informing me that the signal is out of range.
From experiments with other screens I have available, a standard 15"lcd monitor and a philips HDTV with VGA input it seems that the mac reverts to a resolution of 800x600 @ 60hz which is not in range (obviously) for the lexsor screen, meaning I can see the in-range apple screen (640x480) before thinks go blank.
So here's where I need the help, is there a way to default to 1024x768 on detection of the new display? Or is there a way to use my eMac to login and change the preferences on the tower after it has gone to the out of range resolution?
I've learned a lot and solved a good few problems since I picked up these machines, but this one has me stumped...thanks in advance for the help!

I have tried that, but not since I did a clean reinstall so I will try again. When I did try it it told me I was out of range once it had gone past the apple logo. I have also tried zapping the PRAM, and a new battery, which it really needed anyway.

Final Cut Express 2.0.3 and missing AGP graphic card

I had Final Cut Express 2.0.3 in my older G4 PPC Tower. But now that I've installed FCE 2.0.3 in my new iMac I get an error message telling me I need an AGP graphic card for the program to work.
What's the deal?
How can I fix this?

Have a read of this thread (link).
FCE 2 is a PowerPC application so you won't get great performance through Rosetta. FCE 2 is looking for AGP graphics which were standard at the time but no longer present. You should look at upgrading (link) for best performance.

Neo 875P and the AGP voltages?

Ok I have the settings as in my signature but i can run the card only at 4x, i dunno why but i suspect the voltages. The 8x should run at 0.8V but in Bios there's only 1.55V and Up does anybody has an idea what's wrong?

The voltage you refer to is Signal voltage
x4 1.5v
x8 0.8v
The connector voltage is the same for both specifications 1.5v
Suspect your problem is driver related

Has anyone actually tried a real 3000+?
Seems like there might be some problem, since the X13 multiplier cannot be manually set correctly, and 12.5 is the largest working multiplier available.
This would make overclocking 2800+ and 3000+ pretty difficult.

well, here's another convert to archery. sure you haven't heard that one before.
got arch up over the weekend, installed X, openbox, tint2, some applications - basically what it took to be able to do some schoolwork (junior).
so now, with everything pretty stable, im looking for eye-candy i've seen some nice openbox/panel configurations, but i'm also interested in compiz, with all the fancy fancy.
moving on.
i'm using a nvidia fx5500, currently also using the nvidia driver. when ubuntu 10.x came along i ran into terrible graphical issues. after muddling through them like i do, i ended up with 2D working fine, 3D not. i only needed 3D for a couple of games i played every so often (springrts/enemy territory), but it still was annoying not to be able to use those. switched to arch, i'm using nvidia 173, everything seems fine and faster. out of curiosity i ran "compiz-check" (i know its half-wrong), ended up with glxgears, glxinfo -- glxgears spins around a couple times then freezes, then screws with X (which i have to restart). on 10.10, glxgears would run for about 10sec, freeze for about 20sec, repeat. im not sure how to glean info from glxinfo...
after doing a lot of searching and trying to find relevant information, i see that nvidia173 is only partially compliant with newer X versions.
system Arch (x86_64), NVIDIA FX5500, 1GB ram, 150GB hdd, AMD Athlon 64+
questions are
1. if i want 3D, is the best option to downgrade? (which i would typically consider pointless)
2. if im going to be stuck with only 2D, would nouveau drivers be better than nvidia?
3. is nvidia and gallium3D a viable option? (like i said, i can muddle through problems - but definitely not a talent...)
4. if no 3D, is openbox/tint2 the best option? (don't really want a full DE) (this is mostly opinion...)

Turn off Cell Radio (and wifi) and Leave AGPS On?

Hello,
I would like to turn off all radios except GPS to save battery life on extended excursions without power. I know how to turn off wifi, and with Airplane mode I can turn off all other radios, but even if, in airplane mode, I have Location Services on, it does not appear that the A-GPS radio is active.
Is there a way to do this? If I pull the SIM card, does this disable the cellular radios? Or just inactivate service but still allow the power drain?

Seems there should be a way to turn the cell radios off.
There is, its called Airplane mode, but this also turns off the GPS chip as well.

MSI nForce2 and 200 fsb?

Hi I am thinking of buying the msi nforce 2 board and i was wondering how many of ppl that have it can run it at 200 fsb, thats basicly my main concern at the moment and how hard / easy is it to run it at 200 without any mods, and how much is luck involved?

648 Max L and 8x AGP

Can anyone tell me to enable 8x agp setting with a
648 max L MB ? I have a Radeon 9700 Pro video card.
I can't seem to find anything in the bios to change the setting. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?
