  • Data retrieval from N95 8GB/Restoring NGage games ...

Hi everything from my Nokia got deleted when I was deleting items from the LifeBlog.  I did a recovery from it using recovery software, however some items were retrieved no problems but some video files and pictures are unable to open or to view. I have lost about a month and a half worth of really important information that wasn't backed up. Any ideas why this would happen??  I remember deleting stuff from the LifeBlog previously and not loosing all my data.
The other problem I have is that my old phone was faulty so I was sent a new one, the old one had the Ngage games purchased and a few other games, however the Ngage games aren't accessible even though I can see it in the directory (Asphalt 3, Brain Game)
My 3rd problem would be when I try to view my Gallery... its giving an error message that the gallery is full even though I have 4.5GB of free space... Any ideas?  HELP please

Hi.. I'm verrrry upset and crying  I would really appreciate your help!!! Please!!!???? All I remember was that I transferring some tracks to my mob via bluetooth and when i went to open my gallery it was gone!!! I was just about to make back up as well!!!

  • Moving my Ngage games from my N95 8gb to my new N8...

Is there a way of moving the purchased ngage games from my old N95 to my new N86. If so how do you do it?

    Hi butz40,
You need to contact Nokia Care and request a licence transfer which you can do up to 4 times (if I recall correctly).
You'll need the old and new IMEI numbers.
    Cheers,
    Alun.

  • If I hard reset N86 do I lose Ngage games?

    Hi
Sorry for such a simple question. I have a 5MB Ngage app installed on the C drive. Can I move this before I do a hard reset or does it matter. I bought a couple of DChoc games which are installed on the E drive. Maps is also installed on C, can I reinstall it elsewhere after a hard reset?
    Thanks

There is a version 073.001 and seems to relate to German handsets only at the moment
Well, that would fit. It is a German handset. So I can stop being paranoid and accept the firmware as legitimate.
Neverteless, it seems that it is not really stable. I need to power cycle it several times a day. I'd prefer reverting to the previous one.
I reinstalled 073.001 a few hours ago, as suggested by Nokia Suite. Let's see if it helps. So far no further crash.
Or, to be precise, it didn't exactly crash, it just didn't respond to key presses. The only key that works in that case is the power switch. I can switch profiles, but none of them reacts to any other key.

  • Please Nokia Release Good E72 Games like in touch ...

Nokia you should not only release good games on OVi for only touch phones please also offer some good symbian games for s60 v3 phones like E72  and others, games just like in Touch Phones
    *Armageddon Squadron
    *Wave Blazer
    *Toon Wars
Do not stuck with java games for E72 I hope my consideration would be look into..

E72 is more a business orientated handset.
The game developers will always produce more games for handhelds which are bought by private customers. There are sold more often and the customers more like games and not bussiness apps like stock statistics ;-)
It is not a only a Nokia effect. You will even find more games for iPhone than for Blackberry.
N8-00 with orange case, loving it

  • Landscape mode in 5320?

is there any way to get landscape view for nokia 5320? any 3rd party app?
    thnx
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

the phone automatically switch to landscape if youre using the camera or viewing photos and if your playing ngage game that is landcape like bounce. Also ngage will have an option if you want to rotate the screen so I think there is a software that you can install for this function but since 5230 is s60 FP2, there are limited sw available as of the moment. Try to google.

  • Sound Quality : N91 Overrated, 6680 Underrated.

Hi guys! this is my first post here at nokia. I usually discuss at symbian-freak. =)
I know many of you will disagree with me on this but this is my own opinion. I just want to share it.
I think N91's sound quality is a bit overrated. I've tried one at a store at the mall a few hours ago and I was not that impressed. to be honest i was expecting the device would blow me away with tight bass and clear mids ang highs but It didn't deliver. It sounded good but it was not that impressive. I've even played with the EQ . Iv'e used my mk-650 IEM. It's definitely better than my n73 but I was disappointed with the n91.maybe my expectations was too high.
I am impressed though with the old 6680's sound quality. I am using it right now as an mp3 player because my sister had bought herself an N95 8GB. The 6680 armed with LCG jukebox' equalizer is really impressive. I enjoy listening to it than my n73. I don't know the reason why this old S60 phone sounds so good to my ears. maybe it just matches well with my IEM.
Ok that's it. I've expressed my point. Thanks.

    Hmmm that's a though one.
If you didn't care too much about audio quality then I would say go for the N95 8GB.
But if you do care about audio quality then probably your best bet would be the upcoming N96... BUT
... You also want 3D acceleration, and the N96 doesn't have dedicated 3D acceleration HW. Mind you it still has 3D acceleration but it may not be as good as say the N95 8GB.
That being said, why do you think you need 3D acceleration?
Ngage games for the most part don't use 3D acceleration (except maybe Asphalt 3) and unless you are playing 3D Java games then there are no other applications that benefit from this.
Anyway. The N96 is not available yet, and you should read reviews of it and try it before you take the plunge.
So at the moment there's no model that has:
    - 3D acceleration
    - Big 16 million color screen
    - Superior audio
    - Good camera for video
    - WiFi
I mean your contenders are N95, N95 8GB, N82, N78 and N96 but each one has strengths and weaknesses and you will need to ponder what you care the most about.
    For camera I guess it's the N82.
For screen, 3D acceleration then the N95 8GB but camera has had some issues with video capture.
For screen, camera, sound then the N96 but then there's the question about the 3D acceleration
For a rounded up device then the N78 is good, but not outstanding in any given area.

  • Howto restore original nokia software after hard r...

I have an N79 phone. Recently, due to some problems I had to hard reset my phone. I took backup of all my contacts, messages, etc. which I could restore easily using PC suite. However, I lost some software which had been originally installed by nokia. Most notably among these were the Ngage games and wavesecure. How do I get these back ? I especially need wavesecure.

Have you restored the backup? If yes, did you get the wavesecure software again? If no then you can get this software from here.
As for Ngage games you will have to visit www.n-gage.com. But the licence which you got would not recover unfortunately!
Please thank me by giving 'KUDOS' star. It will help me to serve you better.
Currently using N82 and 5230. Next would be N?

  • Problem with opening Transformers.dcf in my N96

My phone have transformers movie and a i play it and didn't have any problem but yesterday i resotore all setting to original factory setting with this code "*#7370# after restoring finished transformers movie didn't play and said "file is locked" i looked in licences and i saw the transformers licence moved from valid licence to invalid licence.
i read the guide book. it write go to options menu and select get new Licence but in my phone doesn't have get new Licence in option menu!(my web message service is active)
please heeeeeelp me to move transformers licence from invalid to valid licence and play it similar before i restored setting.(I have N96)

I have the same problem. i made a system backup using the pcsuite. when i put the whole backup back on my n96 everyting worked except for all my ngage games and transformers.
Its ridiculous that when you buy a full license of a movie, it can expire and is not usable anymore. Its also insane with a valid license that you need to buy the dvd to get it back on the phone after a proper backup and return session.
Nokia i want my movie back! why not make an online license like with music?
Please tell me how to reactivate my valid license! I have the right to view this movie as many times as i want! as long as i have this phone!
Hmmm and they still wonder why people download movies illegal. Then make a better license system !! The only people that are stopped with these protections are the real buyers of legal software, and movies.

  • Does N96 have a 3D gaming chip?

I currently own an n95 8GB and I am very impressed with the capabilities of the 3D graphics chip accelerator. I am weighing my options on whether to upgrade to the much anticipated N96, but have been given conflicting info on whether the n96 has a 3D gaming chip. Since the n95-2 has one, i would assume the n96 would have one, but with nokia u can never tell. Please help.
    Phones owned: 6230i, 5300, 6300, N95 8GB.
    Anticz009

There doesn't appear to be a 3D HW graphics accelerator. There is however some 3D accelration on the processor specs.
But in real life usage Ngage games play ok in N96 compared to N95 8GB.
But 3D intensive games like Global Racer have lower FPS in N96 compared to N95 8GB.
Still, Ngage games don't use 3D accelerator so they are working fine.
    AND
N96 can play VGA H264 with TV-out at 30 fps, and WMV videos. Something that the N95 cannot do. Plus the N96 has better audio quality and more memory plus the expansion slot.
But in the 3D acceleration arena it looses to the N95.
