NHL Gamecenter Live

Is anybody else having issues with the NHL Gamecenter Live app with regards to verifying your account while signing in? I seem to only get to the "verifying your account..." in the pop up screen while trying to sign in and not get any farther...? Perhaps Apple and Gamecenter need an update to fix the issue? Please help!

NHL Center Ice + NHL Gamecenter Live???

hi! I am a huge hockey fan...lots of my Canadian friends whom are on SHAW, TELUS and BELL in Canada are buying NHL Center Ice, and along with their purchase of Center Ice, they get a FREE subscription to NHL Gamecenter LIVE which is the online service provided by the NHL...you can watch games on your computer and mobile devices (iphone, ipad, PC..etc)...so, my question is, why can't we as Comcast subscribers get the same deal??....I think it would be a matter of Comcast getting the LOGINS for Gamecenter directly from the NHL....also, I sure hope Comcast will increase the number of HD channels for Center Ice this year...only 2 HD channels...I hear Directv has almost all the games in HD...kind of a joke..this is 2010! any insights? hey Blackhawk, i've been going 'round and 'round with Comcast about NHL Center Ice since Comcast only has TWO HD channels here in 2010. I'm near Detroit and I paid for the package plus HD box and was excited for the season to start since i bought a new HD tv. They have repeatedly told me "we are working on it" in terms of converting all channels to HD...this is a bunch of BS to me...what does it take? satellite tv has EVERY NHL and other sports in HD. If i had known this before i would not have ordered Center Ice...if you look at blogs all over the internet, you will see it's up to the Cable provider to give you an HD broadcast...Comcast just chooses NOT to. I keep insisting there is no way in *ell ALL the games are not being shown in HD by the network broadcasting the games. We are simply not getting what we pay for...and it's very expensive at that...COME ON COMCAST, GET WITH IT!!!

NHL Gamecenter Live on ATV2 Freezing

I am able to watch NHL Gamecenter Live on other devices (iPhone, iPad, iMac and XBox) without any problem. But on the ATV2, the picture freezes about every 30 seconds to a minute. This lasts for about 15 seconds then picks up where it had frozen. I eventually have to exit and restart to get back to live action. I have tried connected to Ethernet and through WIFI and also have the same problem when watching through Airplay from the iPad.

The NHL decided not to stream any games via GameCenter LIVE for the 2012 playoffs; their official position is that NBC is broadcasting all of them nationwide (nationwide broadcasts are always unavailable on GameCenter), so there's no need for online streaming. It'll be back next year, but I've found the video quality for GameCenter to be *awful*. The NHL isn't taking online video particularly seriously, and charging *way* too much for a choppy video feed.
In fairness, I haven't tried GameCenter on the AppleTV yet (I ran into the same problem trying to reactivate my account that you did), but using a 2010 MacBook Pro to display their video on an HDTV was useless; the video would stutter every few seconds, making it really hard to follow the play.

NHL Gamecenter Live problems

Curious if anyone began to have problems with NHL Gamecenter Live last night. I was able to watch games through aTV2 until about 9:30 PM EST last night, and then, all of a sudden, when I go into the games option to attempt to watch live content, I get a message that NHL Gamecenter Live is currently unavailable. I can still pull up the other menu options, including standings and game highlights, but I could not pull up any of the late games last night. Any help or info on this issue would be greatly appreciated. I run Firefox 8, Windows Vista, and the aTV2 4.4.3 (3323) update. Thanks in advance!

Serious problems with NHL Gamecenter Live App

Refund for NHL Gamecenter Live.
I have been having countless issues with this seasons (2013) edition of NHL Gamecenter Live. Apple seriously needs to look at all of the complaints and negative reviews of this app and find some way to provide refunds to those of us that spent $50 to view NHL hockey. There seems to be no recourse for users who purchased this app/subscription and Apple needs to step in and 'make things right' for all of us that are suffering with this disaster of a product.
As an example, I can watch games on my iPad but when I try to view that very same game on my Apple TV, it says that it is blacked out in my area. Really? I can watch it fine on my iPad in the same room, yet it's blacked out on a device not 20 feet away? I can sometimes use Airplay and stream from my iPad to the Apple TV but the video lags so bad it's virtually useless.
Come on Apple, just look into this issue and notify all of us 'suckers' that bought this app as to the status of either getting it fixed or providing us all refunds of our $50.

The Gamecenter Live service on Apple TV is an absolute travesty. Likewise, I also am getting blacked out on games on my apple tv, where I can watch no problem on my ipad & computer. When I finally get through to a game, the quality is glitchy, the game is more than 2-minutes behind LIVE, and often cuts out.
I have been a huge supporter of Apple for many years, owning 3 MacBook's, 2 iPhone's, an iPad, an Apple TV and a handful of accessories. But, what has been happening to their products over the course of the past 6-months has me wondering when my time to switch will be. There are a lot of great competitors out there that seem to have a better grip on making things work, as of late. As a consumer, thats what I want, something that works.
Apple must do something for all the frustrations it has caused me and many others as of late, and it better be soon. Otherwise, I will be jumping ships.

Issue with buying subscription to NHL Gamecenter Live

Hello community! I'm in Australia and tried to subscribe to NHL gamecenter live via Apple TV but it says "no iTunes products are currently available for purchase in your geographic region". Is this because the 2013/2014 season hasn't started yet? I know it is available to Australia. Do I have to purchase the subscription from the gamecenter live website first? ATV does have the option to purchase direct through it's app...so I'm not sure why I'm getting this message.

I live in British Columbia, Canada. I spoke with customer service at NHL Gamecenter today because I wanted to purchase NHL Gmamecenter Live for the 2013-14 season via the iPad app. But when I tried, the app said "no longer available". I want to buy the season through the iPad app because I have iTunes gift certificates that I want to use, which is how I paid last season. Anyway, I was told that they do not know when the iPad app will be updated and that they, customer service, have been told to tell would-be subscribers to subscribe through their website. And then you can log into the app and you're good to go. So, if you want watch now (i.e. pre-season games), grab your credit card and head to their website. I'm going to wait for the start of the regular season to see if I can subscribe via the iPad app and use my iTunes gift certificates.

NHL gamecenter streaming issues

I bought a new ATV2 last week and updated to the latest sotware. The main selling point for me was NHL Gamecenter live as I had grown tired of watching games on my laptop. Gamecenter live however is unbearable to watch. It stops to buffer every 3-5 minutes and often will buffer for 5+ minutes just to go another 2 minutes. I can use Gamecenter on my laptop with no issues and it never needs to stop for buffering.
I thought it was my ATV2 setup but Itunes and Netflix movies stream with a breeze, never a hang up and a very short buffering time to get started. I have a 20MB download internet connection and I've never had buffering issues when using NHL Gamecenter on my Laptop. Another annoying thing it does is sometimes when watching a game that the NHL has put in their own "commercials" during time outs, it will often go back to the NHL game menu when the commercial break is over instead of going back to the game.
Anyone else having this issue with NHL Gamecenter? Maybe its an NHL issue since everything else on my Apple TV streams perfectly. I've had to go back to watching games on my Laptop because of it.

Haven't had this hold true for me. I usually watch games after they are over--not live. Some will stream this way, others will not--most often the team I really WANT to watch will not! I was watching one game on the computer the other night and decided to try the ATV2 again after the first period and found it WAS finally available. The weird thing was that the steam was slightly different than the stream I was watching o the computer. The computer stream included all of the commercial breaks and period intermissions, the ATV2 stream did not--it just went immediately to the next action or next period. Are they somehow formatting a special feed for ATV2? Does this take time and is that why some of the games are not available for awhile after the live game is over? I'm grasping at straws here to understand how I can best use this device which is so far quite frustrating and mysterious.....

Apple TV 3 NHL watch live?

I wanted to ask whether it is possible to watch live NHL with Apple TV 3 from Switzerland? Or do I have to go through the app NHL GameCenter Live where they buy the upgrade and then stream with Airplay?

If the existing NHL app does not give you what you need you are out of luck. The Airplay option is not likely to work either. AirPlay is required to block protected content by the copyright holders. Nothing Apple can do about it. So you probably will not be able to see the broadcast over it. The same way HBO2Go does not work on air play.

How do I cancel NHL gamecenter ?

I just bought the gamecenter app just to find out that all my games are blocked out now I can't cancel it !!

I would contact customer support for NHL Game Center. If they refund your money it should be credited back to your account.

NHL gamecenter & AV cable

Hello all, I have plugged in my iPad2 to my TV using Apples component AV cable to watch my beloved Canucks from here in NZ. While I recieve audio (loud and clear), there is no video. Am i missing something here or does it simply not work? I have, of course, subscribed to NHL Gamecenter Live.

Not exactly the answer i was looking for but at least I got it quickly.
FYI, I have replied to them asking if this was a feature they might look at adding to future update, I'll let you know thier responds (probably in a minute or two..he,he)

Can you stream live radio broadcasts of NHL games? Premium only includes live video broadcasts for national NBC games. To be able to live video stream all the other out-of-market games, you would need an NHL GameCenter Live subscription.
There are two different access levels for the NHL GameCenter app. One is called NHL GameCenter Live and the other is called NHL GameCenter Premium. Here are the differences:
Live: Live out-of-market game video, home and away broadcasts, access on multiple devices, all NHL GameCenter premium content

I agree i wish every game was in HD like directv does plus directv gives you home and away feeds of every game,which is why i will probably go back to dirctv next year for! but i am hpoing verizon will do this next year,as far as channel 1450 goes it should be in HD,the last few games i watched were on 1454so i havent checked 1450,but it definitly should be in HD!.

Here's the thing: if you want to get the audio in sync again, FFWD or REW one click, and then quickly hit play. It might take a second or two to start playing, but the A/V should be in sync again - I'll take a manual remote action and a few seconds wait over off-sync audio any day.
And... the goofy part is that it will usually stay that in sync until the next commercial break... it always seems to lose sync during the silent "will be back soon" screen before coming back to the live action.
I've never had good luck with the ATV client. I usually end up streaming from my iPad and watching it on the ATV via AirPlay instead.

NHL GameCenter audio sync issues

NHL GameCenter audio is slower than the video on Apple TV. I even swiched to connecting the AppleTV to my Airport via Ethernet to eliminate any transfer issues.
NOTE - if I watch the game on my XBox or MB Pro - no issues.
