NI-488.2 Comctr, HP53181A. Only the *IDN? command works. MEAS:FREQ? hangs

HP53181A will not respond to any other command except *IDN? Any other command that returns data does not respond. I'm using the NI-488.2 Measurement and Automation explorer to enter the commands. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

I don't think that's the correct syntax because channel information is missing. Try "MEAS:FREQ? (@1)" or "MEAS:FREQ? (@2)" to get a frequency measurement from either channel 1 or channel 2. There are both CVI and LabVIEW drivers available from the Instrument Driver Network so if you're doing development in either of these environments, you won't have to do any coding of instrument commands.

Usually this is indicative of a bad headphone jack on the machine end, especially if you've tried three different pairs of known good headphones. Unfortunately there's not much you do to resolve the issue, externally. Considering it's a new machine no sense trying to fix something and making it work. I'd reach out to AppleCare for service on the unit and if it's brand new, possibly arrange a replacement unit.

Can you use after market charging accessories on the 5s? My 5s recognizes the item but will not charge. I've tried two after market power cords (they work) and 3 adapters I put on my old 4s power cord. Only the Apple cord works.

I've tried using my sister's after market power cord and it recognizes that an accessory has been plugged in but it won't charge. The cord does charge my sister's 5. I've also purchased 3 adapters and put them on my 4s power cords and the same thing happens. Only the power cord they came with the phone will charge it. Does anyone know if this is a new thing will all

I can't get my iMac to restart itt seems to start Rita back where it was when I restart and my mouse is not responding right. I can't get it to click regularly. Only the right click works

Which mouse and iMac do you have? Over the past 4 years or so there have been at least 3 mice that work on Intel based iMacs.
The first place to check is the mouse's preferences which are at System Preferences - Mouse.
If they are set correctly then do a SMC reset and see if that solves the issue:
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

I tried to send a file and did as instructed, but when I go to send only the public box is checked. I can't check the personal E mail. In the past it worked fine. I know things have changed, but I have no idea why I can't sent to a individual E Mail like in the past. What am I doing wrong or have I missed? Please help! Thank you very much!

When you are attempting to send the file, do you see the Recipient Page message, or the Upgrade To message?
If the latter, then the account that you're using is a Free one. Are you signing in to Adobe Send with the same Adobe ID as you are using here in the Forum?

Why does ONLY the up arrow work

I have a USB keyboard that came with my imac isight intel. I love it cuz it has the numbers on it as well but suddenly the bottom row of arrow keys no longer work. The up arrow works but the down and left and right have no results upon pushing, or even just holding down. Any thoughts? Can I take them off and clena them or something...

Does the TJ command work with Type3 fonts?

I'm not sure that the text showing TJ works with Type3 fonts.
Attached is a complete PDF file that illustractes the problem. See
how the A characters position are affected by the TJ command when
using the Type1 fonts but not the Type3. Is this a known issue? Is there a solution?

Don't have any sound only the sub is working

for the past two days, when i put music through the airport the sound is only coming out from the subwoofer and not the other speakers. All wires are properly connected. Any clues?

Temporarily, plug a pair of headphones into the AirPort Express. If you hear "everything", the problem is not the AirPort Express.
Check the audio cable and your amp/speaker settings.
If there are no "highs" when you plug the headphones directly into the Express, check the sound equalizer in iTunes.

Firefox 4 Beta (v9,10&11) opens on my PC (Win 7) and creates tabs but only the close button works I cannot click on any tabs or content in the "active" tab?

It looks like Firefox has started ok, all the tabs are populated, but nothing can be accessed by clicking except the Close button and the right hand scroll bar... it is frustrating. Firefox 3 works fine still.

HELP How to rescue data from a HD with only the Terminal utility working

I can no longer access the hard disk on a 2008 unibody Mac Book after an failed OS upgrade (?). Running the original OS 10.5.5 from the grey CD-ROM that came with the device and using the "Terminal" utility, I find all data in their place and within the correct structure.
I tried to make an image of the HD or to copy the files to the external disc using the Hard Disk utility, but all attempts have produced an "operation not possible" message. Target mode will not work, as the device has no firewire connection implemented.
How can I access the files (I know they are there, I can see them...) and e. g. copy them to an external disc or rescue them with an other method?

Click here and choose 10.5 from the menu for usage instructions. Installing the OS on an external drive is done the same way as doing it on the internal drive, but it needs to be formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

Only the left headphone works on 30g Video

I have a 5th Generation 30gig iPod video, bought in November 2006, so the warranty is expired.
For the last two weeks or so, I've noticed that the right headphone did not work when I used it with my iPod. Thinking that it was a problem with the headphones themselves, I bought a new pair. Sadly, it still didn't work. I tried both pairs of headphones with my computer and they seemed to be working in perfect condition.
However, the interesting part is that when the headphones are plugged in roughly half-way, both sides work. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I also have a 5g Ipod, and have the same problem. It's the headphone jack, it is shorted out. You have to get it replaced, take it to your local apple store as soon as possible. If your iPod is not under warranty an longer, i would suggest a third party repair because apple will charge you about the same as a new iPod for this kind of repair.

Whenever I plug my headphones into my macbook pro, only the right earphones works. there's not a fault with the headphones as i have tried numerous pairs and the laptop it's self plays music perfectly without the headphones...any ideas?

Go in to system preferences-sound and make sure that your audio when your headphones are plugged in isn't panned to one side.
