NI 9237 External Excitation - VeriStand 2013 SP1
The recommended excitation voltage for my pressure transducers is + 10 VDC. I prefer to use external excitation as per the NI 9237 manual, total power for the module is limited to 150 mW, which in my case is "Four 350 ohm full bridges at 3.3 V". (I will be using (4) full bridge 350 ohm pressure transducers). I am using Scan Engine for EtherCat and have the NI 9237 in a NI 9144 Chassis connected to a cRIO-9081. For troubleshooting, I have two transducers on a pressure calibrator and another RJ50 connection to a NI 9949 breakout. If I select "External Excitation" and have my 10 V power supply connected to the lower EX+, EX- connector, I get an invalid value for my pressure transducer. This is after scaling the value in calibration. The Raw Value is also incorrect. If I leave it set to "External Excitation" but pull the EX+, EX- connector, the EX+, EX- voltage (pins 6 & 7) will go to 4.735 V and I will get a CORRECT pressure reading. If I select Internal Excitation of 3.3V, I will get a correct pressure reading, but I am a little concerned about resolution as the recommended excitation is + 10 VDC for the pressure transducers. My question is: why am I unable to use the external excitation? I have another application with a PXI and EtherCAT chassis and it works OK. I've also tried placing a NI 9237 module in the cRIO-9081 chassis and get the same invalid value that I describe above.
Solved!
Go to Solution.
Do you have the latest version of the Scan Engine and EtherCAT custom device? On the community page for this custom device, the latest bug fix listed specifically refers to this module. Also there is a specific forum for this custom device that it may be a good idea to post on as well if you have not already posted there about this problem.

SharePoint 2013 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2
Hello all,
Excited as I was to finally get the slip-streamed version of SP 2013 with SP1 so I could install it on Windows 2012 R2 I'm having trouble installing the pre-requisites.
I've found this article here -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2765260/en-gb - but the resolution won't work. The update (KB2771431) won't install on 2012 R2 and the manual fix fails even though I am connected to the internet.
Has anyone successfully installed SP 2013 SP1 on 2012 R2 ?
ThanksHi etala,

thanksHi,
From your description, the Exchange 2013 server can't receive emails internally and externally. I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
1. Please restart the Microsoft Exchange Frontend Transport service on CAS and the Microsoft Exchange Transport service on Mailbox and check the result.
2. Please make sure that the authentication on default receive connector is right. Here is the configuration in my environment for your reference:
Hope it helps.

ActiveSync is not working properly after migrating to new Exchange 2013 SP1 server?!
Few weeks ago we have added new Exchange 2013 SP1 onto our existing Exchange 2007 environment. I have migrated my mailbox to the new Ex2013 server. Everything (send/receive - internally/externally, OWA, OutlookAnywhere) for me and the existing Ex2007
users works fine. The only thing I have trouble with is the ActiveSync! After migrating to the new Ex2013 server my phone stops getting new emails…, existing Ex2007 users don’t have any problems with their mobile phones.
I did ActiveSync test for my user account with ActiveSync Tester and here is what I have:
As you can see from the error above ActiveSync Tester detects ActiveSync on Ex2013 server however something wrong there with form-based auth?! I can’t see any differences in settings for ActiveSync virtual folders in Ex2007 and Ex2013
virtual folders?!
What I’m missing here?! Please help.Check if the Exchange Servers group does not have the appropriate permission to the mailbox object in Active Directory.
To check whether inheritance is disabled on the user:
1.Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
2.On the menu at the top of the console, click View > Advanced Features.
3.Locate and right-click the mailbox account in the console, and then click Properties.
4.Click the Security tab.
5.Click Advanced.
6.Make sure that the check box for "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" is selected.

Exchange Server 2013 SP1 - Optimize for Single Server Use
Hello,
i've set up Exchange 2013 SP1 with at last CU6 - get exchangeserver says:
AdminDisplayVersion : Version 15.0 (Build 995.29)
ExchangeVersion : 0.1 (8.0.535.0) - - - funny number ;-) (is this an early version???)
Yes, the annoying 16028 in the application log are running every five minutes, but thats not the main question.
Which services are needed in a SINGLE-SERVER Environment, without DAG and unified messaging?
Can the Self-Checking, Health- and Self-Probing be put down?
These services are started automatic:
Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology
Microsoft Exchange Anti-spam Update
Microsoft Exchange DAG Management
Microsoft Exchange Diagnostics
Microsoft Exchange EdgeSync
Microsoft Exchange Frontend Transport
Microsoft Exchange Health Manager
Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Assistants
Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication
Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Transport Delivery
Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Transport Submission
Microsoft Exchange Migration Workflow
Microsoft Exchange Replication
Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access
Microsoft Exchange Search
Microsoft Exchange Search Host Controller
Microsoft Exchange Service Host
Microsoft Exchange Throttling
Microsoft Exchange Transport
Microsoft Exchange Transport Log Search
Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging
Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging Call Router
Microsoft Exchange-Informationsspeicher
Microsoft Filtering Management Service
Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant
And with C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\Queue\mail.que about 512 MBytes size (which may may be a designed default size)...
Have set up about 6 users mailboxes, 3 public folder in a mailbox for public folders. Only for testing purposes sent some (small) mails, no external mails received (only testing receive with 'popcon' for mail delivery to the internal boxes).
The server (2012 R2) is running only in the internal network (yes, with internet connection for updates).
No virus scanners, not third party receive or send connectors, only the 5 default (3 Frontend, 2 Hub) receive Connectors and one Send Connector to our mail provider set up and no user activity (only sometimes from me for testing).
It seems like it's doing only with itself, logging file sizes of above 11 GB (in 4 weeks), with huge amounts of probing, health checking, internal testing, internal updating etc.
Can this logging be set up to a lower level, can services be deactivated (for single server configuration),
the logging volume should be in a useful relation to the mail use of the server, a message for every self test, internal health check etc. in the log-files normally isn't useful, only when problems occur there is a need...
Thanks in advance
AndreasBetween Exchange protocol-based log files, PerfMon .blg files used by Managed Availability, IIS logs, etc., the total footprint can add up quickly and these logs are not purged automatically. You can take a look at this site below and use the powershell
script to clean it up.

Exchange 2013 SP1 displaying users that no longer exist
I'm currently in the process of migrating my Exchange 2010 SP3 environment over to 2013 SP1 and am hoping someone can give me a hand with an issue I'm having in Exchange 2013. After installation of 2013 with no errors returned, when I log in to the
admin console I'm seeing users that have been deleted from my AD for quite some time with a mailbox type of "Legacy". I've searched high and low to find these accounts and cannot find them anywhere. I've searched through ADSI Edit and
LDP and nothing. If I click on any of these users and choose to edit I get this error message:
The operation couldn't be performed because object 'GUID' couldn't be found on 'domain controller'.
The odd thing to me is that these "Legacy" users are nowhere to be found on my Exchange 2010 server.
Anyone have any other ideas of how and where I may be able to find these users?Below powershell script can help you find out the lingering objects in your AD.

Send Issues with Outlook for Mac (2011 / V15) and Exchange 2013 SP1
Hi all,
we have a strange issue with only with Outlook for Mac Users (version 2011 and the newest Outlook Version (V15) from Office 365) connected to our Exchange Server 2013 SP1. Some emails which we send out to the exactly same recipient are not sent through our
Exchange Server.
We have sent 8 emails with subject "test1, test2, test3...". Only test 3-6 was arriving to the recipient. The other emails are in the "sent" folder but it was not sent out through the Exchange.
What we can see with "Get-MessageTrackingLog" is, that the Recipients and MessageSubject are empty for these emails:

I am sure above tells me exactly what is wrong, but I can't decipher it, so I can forward the info to the correct team to fix (we are a very departmentalized organization). I have already completely deleted both servers in the farm and recreated from scratch
and I get the same error, even tried a 3rd time to remove SP and download the latest patches again.
Can anyone help?
Kevindid you
configure the object cache on the web app?
also do you have user profile services configured, if yes then web App's app pool should have permission on UPA.

SCSM 2012 R2 Self Service Portal is supported on Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation 2013 Sp1 or not
Hello,
I have a requirement to install Self Service Portal on one dedicated Server and found that Both the Web Content Server and SharePoint Web Parts can be installed on single Server. I want to use Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 Foundation Server as
it is free but it is not supported on Windows Server 2012 R2.
My query are -
Can we use Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2013 Sp1 for the same purpose.
Can we install Both the Web Content Server and SharePoint Web Parts on One Computer for Self Service portal
I was referring the below link which says that Sharepoint 2013 is not supported, does it mean for Sharepoint foundation 2013 Sp1 is also not supported.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=24983
Please help.
Thanks,
Ankurfor background, there are actually three parts here. there is a SharePoint team site, there is the content distribution website, and there is the data access website. the data access and the content website are almost always collocated on the same servers,
since they are both IIS virtual directories. the sharepoint team site is packaged for 2010, but it's been
successfully installed on 2013 without problems.
you have a couple of options:
you can put all three web componets on the same server by using foundation 2010
you can put all three on the same 2013 server using the method above
you can put the two iisvds on a server and install the team site using the method above
you can install the content and data access services on a separate server, and then install a scrap foundation SharePoint and export out the team site and import it into your existing SharePoint site -
Hi,
I am struggling with a completely clean installation of Server 2012 R2 and Exchange 2013 SP1. I followed these steps:
Installed Server OS
Windows Updates
Added Active Directory Role (This is a single standalone server that would have been SBS until it was dropped)
Added DHCP & DNS
Added Certificate Services
Added Windows Server Update Services (WID Database & WSUS Services)
Windows Updates
Added Media Foundation
Added File Server Resource Manager and Work Folders
Added Windows Server Backup
Windows Updates
Checked all running without errors in Server Manager and performed a full bare bones backup.
Ran Setup.exe from Exchange 2013 SP1 disc.
Installed Pre-requisites and then rebooted
Windows Updates
Ran Setup.exe from Exchange 2013 SP1 disc.
Installation completed without errors
Rebooted
Checked all running without errors in Server Manager.
I Launch Exchange Administrative Center and get "problem with website's server certificate error" (normal on machine with self-assigned certificates). Click Continue to Website and get:
Windows Security dialog box:
iexplore - "The server localhost is asking for your username and password. The server reports that it is from Digest"
however no username and password combination will work: have tried [Administrator]; [Domain\Administrator] even created a user to no avail.
I believe the issue is somewhere in the IIS configuration because I also get the same error when trying to log into the server website from either the server or another machine on the network.
I have tried the complete installation three times now: (full disclosure not all of the same features/roles each time). On the first attempt I got this error immediately and on try number 2 was able to get into the EAC and created the mailboxes
but then it started giving the same error. The above steps are try number 3.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Andy Halford
P.S. A Follow up which might be significant: The Default Web Site is not running and will not start (it was previously running before the Exchange installation) and when I try I get the message that Another Website may be using the same port however none
of the others (Exchange Back End or WSUS Administration) are using ports 80 or 443 and I still get the error when they are both stopped.Could you post the list of sites:
appcmd list site
The ones listening on port 80:
appcmd list site /bindings:http/*:80:
And on port 443:
appcmd list site /bindings:https/*:443:

Here is a problem that has me confused. On a fresh Windows Server 2012 R2, I installed Exchange 2013 SP1. It was successful and for the first day everything was working well. I then installed all security updates. The next day, I could no longer log in to
the Outlook Web App or Exchange Admin Center. I get the generic "something went wrong" message, and the only details are X-FEServer: LAKEVIEW-SERVER (our server name). Nothing else. In the event viewer, I have the logs below every time I try to log
in. This is repeatable. Every time I attempt to log in the same 3 things appear in the Application Log.

My first guess is to reset the Outlook Address Book by using the Remove-OabVirtualDirectory Exchange commandlet. But I am not so sure this will work because Exchange worked for a day. Any help understanding what caused the problem (and thus help avoid it
happening again) and how to fix it are appreciated. Thanks.hi,
If nothing works try resetting the Virtual Directories.
For owa
Open Exchange Management Shell (EMS), and then run the following cmdlet to change the authentication method of the "owa" virtual directory to Windows authentication:
set-Owavirtualdirectory -identity "MBX\owa (Exchange Back End)" -WindowsAuthentication $True -Basicauthentication $false
-Formsauthentication $false
Run the following command on both the Client Access and Mailbox servers to restart Internet Information Services (IIS):
iisreset /noforce
For ECP
Start Windows PowerShell.
Type the following commands, and then press Enter after each line:
Add-PSSnapin *exchange*
Set-EcpVirtualDirectory -Identity "MBX\ecp (Exchange Back End)" -WindowsAuthentication $true -FormsAuthentication $false
Run the following command on both the Client Access and Mailbox servers to restart Internet Information Services (IIS):
iisreset /noforce
For Ref: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123752(v=exchg.150).aspx
I did those commands. But remember, the original error I gave was related to the OAB virtual directory, not ECP or OWA. I also did the Remove-EcpVirtualDirectory, Remove-OabVirtualDirectory, and Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory commandlets and the corresponding
EcpVirtualDirectoryOabOwaVirtualDirecoty ones. I still cannot log in to the Exchange Admin Center. And I still have the same original generic unhelpful error message.
However, there are some changes. After I removed and re-added the virtual directories I no longer received the original error logs given above. I now get this log in the event viewer:
Event 2001, MSExchange Front End HTTP Proxy
[Owa] Failed to load SSL certificate.
The first logs I gave above always appeared after attempting to log in. This log that I gave appears infrequently and is not connected to any log in events. This log occurs only
after a similar log given below:
Event 1001, MSExchange Front End HTTP Proxy
[Owa] Application Starting. -
SharePoint 2013 SP1 and Office Web Apps SP1 not working using HTTP
Hi I had problems installing and configuring Office Web Apps 2013 SP1 integrated with SP 2013 SP1.
Do you know if there is any issue?
This is the error in the owa side:

I'm unable to restart the Microsoft Software Protection Platform service on a Windows 8.1 laptop for MS Office 2013 SP1 (32-bit) using the following command:
cscript ospp.vbs /osppsvcrestart (issued from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15)
When this is run, a window appears with the title ospp.vbs and the text "Error: The Software Protection Platform service is not installed"
I verified that the service is installed in services.msc, and was able to manually stop and restart the SPP service in the Services console without issue.
The command runs correctly when restarting the MS Office 2013 SPP on Windows 7 devices.
Has anyone else seen this or have a solution for it?
The reason that I am attempting to restart the service from the command line is because this command is part of a script to change the KMS server IP Address used by OSPP prior to software activation.
The only other options that I have at this time is to ask the users to reboot, or manually force a reboot. This is both time consuming and disruptive to the users.
The Fix It tool to remove MS Office 2013 was run, and the MS Office 2013 software was successfully reinstalled after a reboot. The software was successfully activated. When the command was run, it produced the same exact error.Hi,
I am able to reproduce this on my own machine, but in my case, I don't see the specific service running in the Services console.
I would like first confirm that whether you've the right service running on your Windows 8.1 system. The display name of this service should be "Office Software Protection Platform", service name is "osppsvc".
You can also check this by going to below path where you should see the executable file (OSPPSVC.EXE) if the service is installed on your system (in my case, the folder is empty):
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform

Unable to install MS Office Proofing tools 2013 SP1 even after installing MS Office 2013
Hi All,
When I run the "proofsp1.exe" manually by double clicking on it, I get the below error message. Proofing tools has already been installed and I am trying to install Proofing tools Service Pack1.
"The expected version of the product was not found on the system."
MS Office 2013 is already installed in the machine.
Few more details about the issue:
Which language are you trying to install the proofing tools for?
I am trying to install on English for testing purpose. I am facing the same issue on other languages as well.
What is the language of office you have installed?
English
Are you working on 32 bit or 64 bit version of Office?
32-bit
At last I was able to install "proofsp1.exe" using the below command line with User Interface.
"proofsp1.exe" "PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1"
But not able to install it silently using the below command line
"proofsp1.exe" "PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1" "/quiet /norestart"
Please advice how to install "proofsp1.exe" silently or without the
"PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1" parameter.
Thanks in advance.Hi George,
It does not accept "PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1".
It throws the help window with all the switches on using this command line
proofsp1.exe
PACKAGE.BYPASS.DETECTION.CHECK=1 /quiet /norestart
Can anyone please tell, why am I getting the below error message when MS Office 2013 and Proofing tools has already been installed.? I am trying to install MS Office proofing Tools 2013 SP1
"The expected version of the product was not found on the system."
Thanks.
