NI-FBUS Process Startup: Fatal Error

I installed PCI-FBUS card, NI-FBUS COMM SW for Windows v 3.2.1 (CM and Configurator) on my Windows XP, activated the licenses and enabled the PCI-FBUS board through Configuration Utility.  When I started NI-FBUS Communication Manager, I got the following error:
"NI-FBUS Process Startup: Fatal Error
Initialize request to Board 0 timed out, NI-FBUS may not be receiving interrupts from board.  Check your board IRQ settings with the NI-FBUS interface configuration utility.  NI-FBUS will not Exit."
All the settings in the Configuration Utility were set to default.  The NI-FBUS Communication Manager will only run successful if H1 interface board properties is set to "Polled Mode."  How do I fix this issue?

Hi, I asked the guy who developed NI-FBUS 3.2. They told me this is a history problem, when Windows OS is upgraded to XP or above, the IRQ mode is not suggested to use any more. So from the NI-FBUS 4.0, they removed IRQ mode supporting. It is strongly recommended using poll mode in NI-FBUS software.

  • 'Dataguard remote process startup failed'

    Hi
When I try to use the Data Guard to configure my Physical Database ( Which for testing purposes, is planned to have onthe same machind as the Primary) - gives me the error
    'Dataguard remote process startup failed'
    Please help me.!
Can anyone give me the details of how to create a physical standby from scratch.. considernig the fact that I am new to Oracle... I am donig it as per the documentation, but not able to start the standyby database which is on the same machine using the pfile...
    Thanks
    Radhika

Are you creating standby database using data guard manager through oracle managment server? If so, have you applied patches or not?
Here is the excerpt from metalink note : 204848.1
    ====
Data Guard Manager reports "Data Guard remote process startup failed." Error Dialog
    Fact
Oracle Enterprise Manager Data Guard Manager 9.2.0.1.0
    Symptom
"Data Guard remote process startup failed" error dialog in the Oracle
Enterprise Manager 'Create Configuration' Wizard is displayed when you
attempt to run Data Guard Manager and your environment is not setup
    correctly.
    Fix
Check and address the following items in the order listed.
    1) Ensure the Oracle installations for both the primary and standby Oracle
    Homes contain Perl.
On UNIX systems, verify this by looking in each Oracle Home for the
$ORACLE_HOME/Apache/perl/bin/perl file. On NT systems, look for the
    file $ORACLE_HOME\apache\perl\5.00503\bin\mswin32-x86\perl.
If this file is present, Perl is installed; and proceed to step 2.
If not, then you must install the Perl that comes with Oracle.
Follow these steps to install Perl on both the primary and standby
    Oracle Homes:
    a. Run the Oracle Installer and choose the Oracle Home in question.
    b. Choose the "Oracle9i Database 9.2.0.1.0" option.
    c. Choose "Custom" for the installation type.
    d. Under "Oracle Enterprise Manager Products 9.2.0.1.0", choose to
install the "Enterprise Manager Website 9.2.0.1.0" item.
    e. Complete the install.
    f. Verify that the Perl installation succeeded by checking for the
presence of the above file. If successful, proceed to step 2.
    2) Ensure that all Data Guard Manager patches are installed in
    the OEM installation.
These following two patches are independent of each other and must both be
installed on all versions of 9.2.0:
Patch Number 3409886 (supercedes Patch 2670975)
    Patch Number 2671349
Download these patches from Oracle Support Services Website, Metalink,
http://metalink.oracle.com. Activate the "Patches" button to get the
patches Web page. Enter the Patch number and activate the "Submit"
button. The patches are listed for the Windows and Solaris operating
systems only. However, they are generic patches that will work on
    other platforms.
After verifying that each patches are installed, proceed to step 3.
    3) Ensure the Oracle Intelligent Agent is running on both the primary and
    standby nodes.
The Agent must be running for Data Guard to function. Check it by
running agentctl status on the primary and standby nodes. If it is not
running, start it by running the command agentctl start. After verifying
that it is running on both nodes, proceed to step 4.
    4) Ensure that the user specified in the primary and standby node preferred
credentials can successfully run an OEM job.
Data Guard Manager requires that OEM preferred credentials are specified
for both the primary and standby node. Furthermore, these credentials
must specify a user(s) who has read/write permissions in the primary
    and standby Oracle Homes, respectively.
Note well: Databases that are on Windows NT/2000 require that the
the user(s) specified in the credentials must be granted
the "Log on as a batch job" privilege.
After checking that preferred node credentials are set correctly on both
nodes, run a test OEM job to verify that jobs are functioning properly.
    Do this as follows:
    a) Select the Create Job item in the OEM Console Job menu.
    b) Give the job a name, select Node as the Target Type, select and
add the primary node as the target.
    c) Go to the Tasks tab, select and add "Run OS Command".
    d) Go to the Parameters tab and specify a simple OS command such
as ls on UNIX, or dir on NT.
    e) Click Submit.
    f) Once the job is finished, select the Jobs icon in the OEM Console
tree, select the History tab, and examine the Job output.
If it was successful, jobs are working and you can try the Data
    Guard Create Configuration wizard again.
If the job failed, you must troubleshoot this problem and fix it
before continuing with Data Guard Manager.
    5) If problems persist, obtain additional information and log a
    Support Request (iTAR).
If everything in the previous steps is OK, and Data Guard Manager
continues to fail, additional information is required to diagnose the
problem. The following two items must be obtained and submitted to
    Oracle Support Services:
    a) OEM client tracing.
The Create Configuration wizard must be run again in trace mode.
This can be done by starting OEM from a command prompt (i.e., not
the Windows NT start menu) as follows:
    oemapp trace console
Client tracing messages will appear in the command window from
which this command is run. Data Guard Manager should be started and
the Create Configuration wizard should then be run up to the point
where the error occurs. All tracing messages from Create
Configuration wizard start-up to this point should then be captured
    and saved into a file.
    b) Data Guard job output
The output from any failed Data Guard jobs must be captured. This
    can be done as follows:
    1) Select the Jobs icon in the OEM Console tree.
    2) Select the History tab.
    3) Double-click on the latest "DataGuardCtrlXXXX" job that has a
    Failed status.
    4) An Edit Job window will pop up; double-click on the Failed line
    to obtain the output.
    5) Put the output into a file.
If a Data Guard Manager bug is submitted, the tracing output and the
    job output will be required.

  • MacBook has fatal error on startup

    Hi,
My macbook has just this morning - when I needed to email an assignment to a professor of course - has started to experience fatal errors on startup. The computer starts up normally, and once the desktop has loaded, a dialog comes up saying something along the lines of "Mac OS X has experienced a fatal error and must restart in 3 seconds." I brought it quickly to an authorized apple service store, but they couldn't do anything for the problem except start a program right when the dialog came up to block the shutdown process. However, I had to go to school, so while I was in class I downloaded TechTool Deluxe and I've been running it. It hasn't found any errors, so I don't know what to think about the startup problem. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with fatal errors on startup?
Also, the technician who helped me this morning said that it could be either a problem with hardware or software, but that if it was a problem with software, the diagnostic would not be covered by AppleCare. Since I'm trying to save as much money as possible as a student, does anyone have any tips as to determining whether this is a software issue, so I don't have to pay for a diagnostic check-up?
    Thanks in advance!

Boot from your OS X Installer Disc One that came with the computer. After the chime press and hold down the "D" key until the diagnostic screen appears. Run the extended diagnostics multiple times over at least several hours. If any errors are reported note down the error code(s) and report them back here.
If you get an error code with MEM in it that means bad RAM. HDD refers to the hard drive. MOB is the motherboard.
If you don't get any errors then try reinstalling OS X:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • Fatal error Labview.lib not called from a Labview process

in teststand my vi works fine with adapter set for LV development
when I configure the LV adapter for runtime, I get fatal error Labview.lib not called from a Labview process
    what is going on?
    how do I fix it?
    thanks.

    Howdy Stephen -
Are you by chance calling a LabVIEW DLL within your LabVIEW VI which is being called from TestStand?  I know this error occurs when a LabVIEW DLL built in a different version of LabVIEW than the selected Run-time Engine.
Here is a KnowledgeBase which references the issue:
KnowledgeBase 203EA3XC: LabVIEW.LIB Error When Calling a LabVIEW DLL Built with VIs That Use Externa...
If this is the case, you will need to open the LabVIEW DLL source VI in the LabVIEW version you are using and rebuild the DLL.
Thanks and have a great day!

Is there a later version available?

  • Fatal Error with Java ME Device Manager and SDK Updates

I recently installed the Java ME 3 EA SDK Platform which looks promising. Everything seem to work fine. In the process of new updates and the desire to remove some older versions of Java, I installed a new Java versions (1.6.0_11) and removed some old ones (1.6_0_04 and 1.6_0_10).
Following this whenever I startup my machine, following the attempted start of the Java ME Device Manager, I get a "Fatal Error: Cannot start child. Error code: 0" dialog.
Following this I get an exception indicating:

When I try to start the SDK itself, I also get "Cannot find java.exe in specified jdkhome. Neither E:\java\jdk1.6.0_10\jre\bin\java.exe or E:\java\jdk11.6.0.0_10\bin\java.exe exists. Do you want to try to use default version?". This also happens with I try starting Netbeans as well.
When I say No, it appears to not start at all. When I say Yes, it appears to try to start but I continually get errors as listed above for the Java ME Device Manager startup error.
After reinstalling the _10 version, things started to work again, so I suspect this is due to my removal of the an older version of the JDK.
How is the proper way to "update" without causing similar errors? Are the environment variable JAVA_HOME, JAVA2_HOME, or some other variable used to specify the JDK/JRE in use? I would rather not be forced to change my startup each time to specify a -jdkhome related parameter.
