NI Multiple Assignments Checkbox - Person Record

Hi,
Please can someone explain what the "NI Multiple Assignments" checkbox is used for on the person record (ie, what it represents)? It looks as though it represents whether a user has multiple assignments, however why would we need a checkbox to do that? Surely we could derive that from the assignment records? We have some issues around RTI which we think may be related to this.

I think , we can use to have same NI element to the other assignment whihc we will set up on person , if we set multiple assignments and all assignments having same NI is concept behind this

In general, when an employee has two personnel assignments, we generally create two separate positions and assign the same personnel numbers to these positions, percentage of which assignment not be more than 100%.
However, if according to customer policy, a real person is to be paid/benefits are arranged differently based on the personel assignment he/she is holding, then you will need two separate employee numbers. In the end, however, there is only one physical person so you will maintain this information using 0PERSON characteristic.

Oracle HR restrictions based on multiple assignments and multiple GRE's.

In oracle HR, with multiple assignments and multiple GRE. How can we restrict to having 1 assignment per GRE. I do not want more than 1 assignments per GRE. Has anyone done this before?

I have been using a mac mail alias as my iMessage and FaceTime apple ID without any problems. Yesterday I noticed I was logged out of iMessage on my iPad. I went to log back in but it wouldn't accept my ID and password and after three attempts it took me to the retrieve password page.
There I entered my [email protected] ID and received the message 'This person record is inactive!!! I went to my iPhone and was happily
Ogled in in iMessage with that ID. I sent some messages just to check and all was fine.
I then tried on my ipad to log in using another Apple ID - that was fine - and then tried to add the 'problem' email address - which was there but was showing as unverified. This generated a 'email associated with multiple IDs - please delete or contact Apple Support'. I went to delete it and got the same message. I tried to add a different email and got the same message. Basically I am unable to change anything associated with my [email protected] Apple ID because the [email protected] email is associated with multiple accounts.
I then went into my (working) iPhone iMessage account and it asked for my password. As you all probably know, you then end up being unwittingly logged out of something you thought you were logged in to and so I am now unable to access iMessage on my primary (albeit an alias!) email address because Apple on the on hand tell me that it's an inactive person record and on the other that the email address is associated with multiple IDs (but won't let you do anything to remedy that).
In summary: I'm now no longer accessible by iMessage & FaceTime....

I was having the same problem, it's pretty lame that they don't put some support link to help resolve the issue.
Here is what I did, in iTunes go up to the main menu, click the "store" text, then go down to Authorize Computer, that will give you the prompts to give the "harvest" information they are looking for. Once you are done, go back to iTunes and you can log in an turn genius on.

I have tried all sorts of ways of adding my personal M4R file but can't find the place (within the UK versions of iTunes} to transfer this file so that I can select it as a ring tone.
I've tried also changing to the US version of iTunes and still can't find a way of doing it, although I have heard that it can be done.

You should be able to just drop it into the library within iTunes.

Problem sending mail to hostname with multiple IN A DNS Records

Hi there
I've been using the javamail API without problems for some 2 years now in the company I'm working for.
The problems started this week, when the hostname I'm using to send out mails via SMTP, now has multiple 'IN A' DNS records, but allthough all of them respond to a 'ping' only some of them (as of today) accepts a connection on port 25.
The problem is now, that I get random sending errors whenever the DNS lookup of hostname resolves to an IP where no SMTP server is listening on port 25.
I have the following questions:
First of all: Is there an RFC (or other standard behavior) that say a SMTP client should behave like that (throw an exception if the first connection of an round robin DNS lookup fails)? I known that real SMTP servers work more with DNS MX records to find an alternative server, if the first server is unavailable. But javamail is more like a SMTP client, not a fully blown SMTP server.
What is the best way to solve this problem (if the Mailserver/DNS guys aren't cooperative)? I saw that you can pass a custom SocketFactory via properties to javamail. So would the proper solution be to implement a custom SocektFactory, that resolves all the different IP addresses for a hostname, and only returns a Socket, to which address and port it actually could get a connection.

Have you talk to your network or server administrator to find out why your server is only
accepting connections on some IP addresses, even though it's returning all of them via
DNS lookups? Seems like a mistake to me.
If, for some strange reason, this behavior is on purpose, your socket factory idea may
be the best approach.
Also check whether there is a different DNS name you can use for the server that will
resolve to the IP address where it will accept connections.

Multiple T and F records in 1099 Misc.

We have a scenario where for various company codes there is one 1099 electronic file (magnetic media) to be generated. These company codes have a different TIN hence "Multiple company code" flag can not be used in the country specific section. We have modified the DMEE to fetch company code details from the Company code configuration.
Now when we generate the 1099 electronic file via program RFIDYYWT. It creates the file with Multiple T, C and F records i.e. per company. Please note that the Transmitter is 1. Hence it should just create 1 T record, multiple A records (payer), Multiple B records ( Vendor), Multiple C record, Multiple K records, and one F record.
Please note i tried running with maintaining payer details in the country specific screen (with std SAP configuration) it is still generating multiple T and F records.
I checked on IRS website for the specification it also expects 1 T and 1 F record.
I looked at the various SAP notes or blogs did not find conclusive solution on this issue. Can somebody help me please ? Am i missing any configuration or setting in RFIDDYYWT ?

I'm having the same issue when creating a single 1099 file with multiple co codes. SAP (S_P00_07000134) is breaking it up into different batches within the 1099 file. So in other words .. it inputs the "F" & "T" record lines in between each company codes. As per the IRS this is unacceptable, and the file should have only one "F" & "T" record.
Could you please share your solution if resolved or please update us on the progress.

Multiple Assignments Issue

We are in process of implementing Multiple assignments for a clients despite the assignment carries same Payroll and GRE .Could anyone list on the impact of having multiple assignments , any document id to review,
Basically to take a stock of bad effects , when configuring Retropay, Tax distribution, Benefits Deduction..etc..Please advise

Thanks for that - I now have it working.
I am however having issues with Totals.
They are fine in Discoverer Plus but I need to run this report in Desktop.
In Desktop, I have totals for rows and totals for columns for both HeadCount and FTE.
Initially, none were showing.
After changing the aggregation option from 'Default aggregation behaviour' to 'Show the sum of the values', I now get everything except the grand total for HeadCount.
Example below

As you can see, I'm getting every total except the total of '8' for HeadCount but I am getting it for FTE.
I know this is often due to folder joins, but FTE and HeadCount are coming from the same folder, yet FTE is working and HeadCount isn't.
Any ideas?

Multiple Assignments in Timekeeper entry form

We are trying to setup multiple assignments for Timekeeper.
We followed the whitepaper out on Metalink and got most of the stuff working.
Now, we are showing a list of jobs for each employee to choose from whether it is primary job or secondary job.
The issue that we are getting into, how do we filter the list just for the employee that we are entering timecard for.
This is doable in Self service using right conditions but not clear on how to do this in timekeeper.
Has anyone done this before?
Any help will be appreciated.

I presume you have a specific column in TK for the job and that you have linked this through the TK layout preference.
Have you tried making the LOV behind this column dependent on the employee id of the row you are querying? Not sure if it's possible, but worth a try.
Otherwise, I would suggest that you create a Time Entry Rule which is linked to a TER Group just for the TK. The TER could then do the validation to make sure you don't select an invalid value for the employee. It's a bit late in the process, but would prevent errors.
This TER has been used on my projects to ensure that the hours type selected is valid for the employee. This is a simialr scenario.

Union deductions across multiple assignments

Hi there,
We are setting up Unison Union deductions which has rates based in steps on the total pay across all assignments. We have a wide use of multiple assignments. Due to the way it is calculated it is not possible to calculate the Unison amount against each individual assignment and combine it.
I gather we can do this using Historic Rates but have so far failed to get it picking up rates from all assignments.
Any help is greatly appreciated

OTL Multiple Assignments Approvals

Hi All,
I have configured OTL time entry with multiple assignments successfully. Each assignment has its own Supervisor. Now I am faced with the challenge on how to send approvals for multiple assignments. I started using Formula(Select mechanism) but not quite clear on if each line entered on the time card, will go thru the formula. and pick the Supervisor.
I would appreciate any inputs.

Authorized delegate screens won't support these customizations. Also on the approval front, its a tough job getting the approval routed based on the assignments, would rather suggest for a redesign of the solution approach.

    Goto SHD0 Tcode, give the Transaction name ME21N,
    Click on Screen Variant Tab,
    Give the
               Screen Variant Name : ZINFO
               Program : SAPLMEGUI
               Screen : 1319
   Click on Create, it will take to the Tcode,
   Give any Material no, click on Expand item, ignore any errors
   In Material Data Tab, Check the Info Record check box. Click on Back
   It will show the Screen variant which u selected with its values,
   Give short text and Exit and save, Again save, it will ask for pacakage.
Now goto Transaction variant, and look for the Standard variant used, add the created Screen variant to that standard variant. and activate.
Next time you open that Tcode it will defaultly checked.
