NI-PAL Service Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close

Hello,
I am getting this error after a few hours of running a Labview 7.1 program installed on an XP machine. A reboot and start up of the program seems to go as expected but after the error will pop up again after a few hours.The program appears to still run normally and you can interact with the interface.
The following information was listed:

What does this mean and will I have to reinstall Labview or could it be a WinXP problem?

Could you please tell me if you are using MAX (measurement and automation explorer)? This looks like a data base corruption.

    Yesterday I started having this error message pop up when I first boot up my computer.  I haven’t even started LabVIEW. 
    Recent changes:
    6Jan08 Replaced motherboard and CPU.
    6Jan08 Formatted hard drive and reinstalled software(Windows XP Home Edition).  Computer working fine.
    8Jan08 Installed LabVIEW 8.0 Student Edition.  LV is working fine and the message does not appear.
    9Jan08 Download and install NiDAQ 8.6.1.  Reboot the system and the above error shows up.  LabVIEW works fine so far.
    Anybody have any ideas on what the problem is?  I have a screen shot of the actual message, but I can't load it on this page.

  • Ipod service module has encountered a problem and needs to close

    I have recently got a 80gb ipod video, but have been unable to use it, because no matter what I do I can't get it to appear in the source pane on itunes. Everytime I connect it to my PC I get a window up which says the "Ipod service module has encountered a problem and needs to close, sorry for the inconvenience etc"
    I have followed ALL the instructions, including uninstalling itunes and quicktime (which I have done at least 7 times), reinstalling them with different settings on my computer. I have reinstalled a stand alone version of quicktime. I have tried restarting the ipod service, I have deleted all files from recycle bin and from Temp files. I have spoken to ipod at great length (3 different people, totalling approx 2hrs 30mins on the phone) and to a guy at Comet where I bought it from (20 mins on phone). Basically I have done everything I and anyone else can think of, but I still get the same message.
    DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS....PLEASE HELP I AM AT MY WITS END !!!

    hmmmm. i don't have a solution to offer you at this stage. by we can try some general troubleshooting strategies to see if that can isolate the cause of the problem.
    if you're game, we could start proceedings by trying a connection after a selective startup with just the itunes and quicktime background processes enabled. see:

    Here is an article that may be pertinent:

    Otherwise, I would think that record 1057 is a bad record and is causing this problem. You might try figuring out which item that is and deleting it, then trying again.
    You also could try activating advanced logging and seeing it that provides more details to help you:

  • Help!? "Ipod service module has encountered a problem and needs to close"

    Please help me if you can! I get this message every time I start Itunes. I have deleted and re-installed several times. When I attempt to start Ipod service from the services window I immediately get the same error message. The computer is new. Any suggestions?

  • Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    My system was working fine until today.  Now after I sync my BB Pearl with Outlook i get this message and my Desktop Mgr shuts down.  I am running Desktop v4.2.2.14.   The syncing operation seems to be workign just fine but then the Desktop Mgr shutsdown about 15 seconds after the sync is complete.  
    I am running Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP Version 5.0.
    I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software with no improvement.  Any other ideas? 

    Have spent 6 months being bounced from company help desk to Blackberry help within my company to Verizon etc.  First time I found this forum.  Good to know I'm not the only person having major issues.  My sync worked perfectly until I did a recommended software upgrade.  Now I cannot sync my calendar to my Lotus Notes calendar.  Contacts sync works fine but the calendar was my primary reason for moving to a smartphone.  Will try backing down to the old ServicePak.  Thanks.

    Listen. This service is, has been and seemingly will be: FREE. So while emotions are running on the hot side of the guage, let's remember; it is FREE. Adobe owes no one anything. Now who's to blame, really? We, the people are to blame. Why? Because everyone has been ok with the fact that one company essentially designed and released a technology for streaming from the net.     It's like this country [US], up until four-years ago. About the very system until four years ago was spoon feeding them poolside with mai-tai's? While it was crushing everyone else in the known world?
    No doubt it seems incredulous that a multi-billion dollar company has an IT department that would include in an update, for their own software, that would be inconducive to working. No doubt. But keep in mind: we are all either using browsers by Apple or MS. Anything happens to these browsers, including a virus or anything else that threatens our use of them and...?
    So climb off the haughty, 'I deserve' crap and walk on the solid ground of trying to resolve this issue here at Adobe and around the net. If we were to band together, as the 99%, we could solve this, no problem. But then that holds true with resolving this fictitious economic downturn nonsense, that we solidly take for truth at face value, because our mainstream media says so. But no other species on this rock flying through space would know what the f*ck we were talking about.

    Hi turingtest2 (you pass, BTW):  Thanks for the speedy reply.  MobileMe doesn't appear in the list of programs which can be uninstalled.  I tried the link you suggest: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall but when I tried to "Run Now", I get the error message:  " Troubleshooting cannot continue because an error has occurred... etc.... [code 80072F8F]"  So googled this error & found a tool called (80072f8f) Repair Tool   -  I'm leery to download yet more stuff from non-microsoft sites -- any recommendations?

  • BB Desktop Manager 4.7 has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    When I restart my computer, some of the icons in the notification area are missing.  The I get the standard "BB Desktop Manager 4.7 has encountered a problem and needs to close" error and my XP machine wants to send an error report to MS.

    Please try the following steps:
    -Delete the Intellisync folder.   
         Close the desktop manager application.
         Disconnect the BB from the computer.
         Double Click on My Computer> Local Disk (C Drive>Documents and   Settings>(username)>Application Data>Research In Motion>
         Blackberry>Intellisync.          
         Note: If the Application Data folder is not present, click Tools>Folder Options at the top of the screen.
         Click the View Tab, then click on Show Hidden Files and Folders.
         Click Apply>Ok and continue through the remaining steps.
         Delete everything within the Intellisync folder.
         Launch desktop manager and attempt sync the device with the computer.

    I finally solve this problem in my imac....
    For Snow Leopard (Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard):
    1 In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu.
    2 Open Terminal.
    3 In the Terminal window, type or paste the following command on a single line:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsync .pl reset
    4 Press Return.
    5 When the operation is complete quit Terminal.
    For Leopard (Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard)
    1. In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu.
    2. Open Terminal.
    3. In the Terminal window that opens, type or paste the following command on a single line:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsync .pl full
    4. Press Return.
    5. When the operation is complete quit Terminal.

    Note: I'm using Snow leopard when I enter the command..it gives me some error however, I used the command for normal leopard it works for me no more annoying error sync...:) it may works on yours too worth of try.

    OS: Win XP SP3 (recent clean install)
    Printer: HP J6480 on wireless network
    Printer prints and scans fine wirelessly.   I am using the "small footprint" HP drivers to print and scan.
    After some hours with printer connected to the computer wirelessly and printing or scanning, I eventually get the 
    'Generic Host Process For Win32 Services Has Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close'  error message and cannot print or scan any longer unless I shutdown and restart Windows.
    I have implemented all the fixes (download, reinstall, etc.) listed for this printer on the hp.com site - namely

    I've installed NW 7.02 ABAP trial on a VM running with XP Pro english version, SP3.
    Via SICF also all services have been activated.
    When calling SE80 -> Web Dynpro -> (e.g.) WDR_TEST_MISC (or any other WD apllication) -> opening: Component Interface -> double click on INTERFACECONTROLLER -> selecting: CONTEXT -> and then select the 'Properties' tab ==>> the following ERROR occurs:
    => disp+work.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close ... (seems to me to be a MicroSoft popup)
    After closing this popup, another one appears, telling me: 'SAP GUI for Windows 720 - NSP: Sap Systemnachricht; Work process restarted; session terminated'.
    That's the end of this session :-((
    This error occurs only when I try to call the properties of the Interface context!

    Hi Stefan,
    I had this problem yesterday while using SGEN after a fresh install of NW 7.02 (64 bit).
    I forgot to switch of the DB Log and it ran full (I think in earlier versions of the preview installtion MaxDB Log was set to overwrite mode by default which isn't the case with this installation). Anyway, the log ran full, disp+work died and after that it was imposible to restart the system because the dispatcher died shortly after it had started.
    Maybe you check your DB with the database manager.

    I've been having a continual problem with an Xcelsius document I've been developing and I'm hoping someone might be able to assist. When in design mode, all of the dynamic controls & calculations are working fine.
    I have 5 tabs :
    1 which stores my main data (about 4000 rows)
    1 which stores fields bound to drop-down selections, and also some dsum calculations for 3 charts (about 10 rows)
    1 which stores static values to populate the drop-down combos with (about 50 rows)
    1 which stores some test data (about 80 rows)
    1 which stores data which I've managed to replicate the functionality of a pivot table (using sumif), so the user is dynamically changing this data accoring to combo selections (about 50 rows & 30 columns) - about 9 pie charts reference this data
    Basically whenever I try to then preview as a swf, Xcelsius tries to generate for about 5 minutes and then comes up with the subject message "Xcelsius.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".
    Any ideas of how to solve? I've tried uninstalling & re-installing, and the service pack 1 made no difference. I don't think what I've developed is that complex to render in swf.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Of a similar nature; since installying SP1, I can open Xcelsius, do nothing, close it and get the same message Marco is getting.
