Ni pxi 6133 two channel triggering

I have a ni PXI 6133 mounted on NI pxie-1071 chassis controlled by ni pxie-8735.
I have 4 analog input channels and i would like to have an 'or' trigger on two of these channels.
It's possible to set two trigger sources?
Riccardo

Hi Riccardo,
it is not possible t o set two trigger sources for the same channel (setting the second trigger source overwrites the first) so it is not possible even for two different channels.
You can try to route the trigger path internally (to verify if it's possible select your device from MAX and look at the table in "Device Routes" tab.

  • Two channels triggering 6221

    Hi,
i have two rotary encoders. Each of them has two tracks. One is the reference track and the other has 18000 lines. (TTL-Signals)
If the reference mark occurs on encoder number one i want to start counting the lines of encoder one. If the reference mark of encoder two occurs i want to save the sum
of lines of encoder one. But i want still to continue counting lines on encoder one and everytime on encoder two occurs a reference mark i want to save the sum of lines of encoder one. If the reference mark of encoder one occurs the third time i want to stop the measurement.
I would be very pleased if someone could help me.
    regards
    Jens Bihr

    Hi!
You can use the buffered counter measurement examples.
If you are using LabVIEW you can find them under the example finder.
For example the Meas Angular Position-Buffered-Finite-Ext Clk.vi
The encoder counts the lines and for every refernce mark, (in this case the clock source in PFI9) the actual value of the encoder lines is written in the array.
You should set this example to read only three samples and after it will stop.

  • Analog, digital and pfi triggering of PXI 6133 card

    Hello,
i am using PXI-6133 card. i observed that there  are three type of triggering options(i.e., analog, digital and PFI) available on each card. i want to know the difference? and also best  one.
    regards
    chandu

    Hi chandu,
Analog triggering is based on the value of an analog
signal. For example you can trigger when your analog signal goes above or below
a specified value. Digital triggering happens on a rising or falling edge of a
digital signal. For either type of triggering you must have a trigger source
that is the signal you are triggering on. For digital triggering on your card this
can be any PFI line. For analog tirggering it can be any analog input channel.
A detailed explanation of the triggering capabilities of your PXI-6133 can be
found in the S-Series User Manual. Triggering is discussed in Chapter 13. Also
a more great summary of triggering in general can be found in the Developer
Zone article, Tips and Techniques in Data
Acquisition Triggering - NI-DAQmx. What triggering is better depends on your
application and which one is more suited to your trigger signal. If you have a
digital trigger source then digital triggering will work great. If your trigger
source is an analog signal than you will probably need to use analog triggering.
Let me know if you have any questions and have a great weekend.
    Thanks,

  • How to modify the VB examples in ni-scope to sample data simultaneously from two channels in PCI 5922?

     Dear all:
I want to write VB programs to sample data simultaneously from two channels in PCI 5922. The niscope driver has some example VB programs to sample data from one channel, for example, the "save to file ", the program works well to sample the data from one channel.  When I modify it to sample data simultaneously from two channels, I always get error so I seek your help on how to write the program to sample two channels simulatenously. Thanks.  I attached the sample program here and what I tried to modify is the "channel name" and "waveform()"

Respect the phase issue how are you doing the acquisition of the signals, are you doing two independent acquisitions? if you are controlling them as independent acquisitions try to synchronize them with triggers and the clock.
How much are they out of phase?

  • HELP! (how to acquire two channels via gpib?)

    Hi,
    I have the following problem:
I have a LeCroy 4 channel OS connected via GPIB to my PC.
I need to acquire 100ms of data from two channels simultaneously, triggering
the event with a third channel.
I have installed the Labview-IVI drivers for my OS, but looking at the
    application's example I find only a one-channel acquisition example, and I
don't know how to change them in order to do a two-channel acquisition.
(I' m able only to make sequential acquisitions....).
How can I syncronize the read waveform blocks?
    Please help me,
    Many thanks
    Andrew

Since you have an IVI driver for the scope, you can use the IVI Oscilloscope class driver. Do all of the initialization and configuration for acquisition, channel, and trigger (under the configuration palette). Under the measurement palette, you can do an IVI Scope Read Waveform for one channel, and then do a an IVI Scope Fetch Waveform. The read initiates an acquisition and the fetch returns a waveform for any other enabled channel without doing another acquisition. Both the read and fetch return an initial x relative to the trigger and x increment in seconds so its easy to get the data you need from the waveform arrays. Good luck.

  • Trying to use the same ground for more than two channels (RSE configuration) with usb 6000

    Hello,
I'm currently trying to set up a LabView code in order to get readings of voltage using 5 different locations simultaneously. I want to only use the first location as ground and obtain 4 voltage measurements between the ground and each one of the other 4 channels. I'm using a usb 6000 which for now allows me to use the same ground for only two channels. Is there a way to use the same ground for 4 channels?
    Thank you,
    Maria

You're right it is confusing the way I describe it so I ahve attached some pictures of the set up. The first figure is the cell filled with soil and the 5 probes inserted in it. The anode is placed at the left end of the cell and the cathode at the right end but they do not appear in the figure. I'm trying to use location 1 as gournd and take measurements of voltage from the following pairs: 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, and 1-5. The second figure is the DAQ I'm using. When I was trying to set up the RSE configuration, it was ussing ground A for the channels 6 & 7 (locations 2 and 3 in figure 1) but ground B for channels 4 & 5 (locations 4 and 5 in figure 1). What I am asking is which is the best way to use the signal from location 1 as the ground for all 4 channels. Is this more clear?
    Thank you for your time!

    tornado2003,
What you need to do is boot into Safe Mode. Then delete the VGA Drivers.
After that boot normally and install the latest nVidia ForceWare Drivers

  • How do I get XLR audio to play in two channels?

    Hi
I have recently captured audio via an XLR port on my camera and was aware that it is was only on one channel but was hoping to copy the clip into another channel in FCE so it played back on both channels. For the life of me I cant work out hoe to do it because it shows up as two channels (one with silence) and wont let me seperate them.
    Can anyone help?
    Many Thanks
    Adrian

    You can do the following:
o - select the clip in the timeline
o - cmd-L to unlink video and audio
    o - alt-L to separate the 2 stereo channels
o - select the empty audio channel and delete it
o - open the good audio channel in the viewer
    o - change the Pan control to 0 (from -1 or 1)
o - now you can link back the audio and the video: select them both and cmd-L

  • How to calculate the phase difference between two square wave (acquired from two channel in one DAQ)

    Hello everyone ,
I need a quickly help that as below :
I am trying use PCI-6220 to acquired six signals from one rotation encoder (channel A, channel B,channel Z ,and their non-signals) .The encoder out signals will be square wave and 4000pulses per revolution. I set it rotation at 300rpm speed. I need show every square wave of six out channels in waveform and measure the A-B phase difference to check if the value is correct (designed value should be 90deg) .
I have no idea how to measure or calculate the phase difference of two square wave base on synchronizate to acquire these two square wave from two channel on the PCI-6620....
Anyone can give a idea how to calculate the phase difference with two square wave ?
Thank a lot and Thanks again...

  • With single trigger, I want to acquire two channel in sequence

I wanted to observe the sequence of  effects on more than two channels with respect to a single trigger input. And also I wanted to measure each channels with different " number of samples". For example Firstt channel with 10 samples and second with 500 samples. How I can implement this on PCI 6034 and USB 6008 DAQs

The 6008 has only very basic functionality.
I would say to achieve the results you want you will need to add multiple channels to a single task, all at the same rate, and only extract the data you need.
That way all channels will be synchronized.
I don't think the 6008 can even do correlated digital-analog I/O or trigger off an input channel.
I don't have any experience with the PCI 6034, but if you only need 500 samples then the method I mentioned above should work regardless.

  • Creating two channels with two "daqmx create channel.vi"

    Hey guys,
I'm perform some piezo measurements and my program has one channel for the input (signal that excites the piezo) and one channel por the output (piezo's response).
Since the amplitude of the piezo's reponse varies a lot, my program adjusts the range of the acquisition changing the "minimum value" and "maximum value" properties in the " daqmx create channel.vi". Such an adjustment makes no sense in the input channel once the excitation has constant amplitude.
That is why I need to use two "create channel.vi". I could create the two channels with a single VI but if I did so, I would not be able to adjust the "maximum/minumum value" of only one of them.
The problem is: Labview always returns the error 50103: The specified resource is reserved.
Below, we have a screenshot of this part.
I tried also to add one "daqmx timing.vi" and one "start task.vi" for each of the "create channel.vi" and synchronize everything via error cluster but it returned the same problem.
The program itself is also attached but I don't think it will be useful.
    Please, help me guys!

I have two tasks for each channel. So Im trying to feed those two tasks through one loop and onto a graph. I do have a task named "ai cont multi" in NI-DAQmx Base Config Unility where I can choose two channels, but when I input this task into my VI, it doesn't recognize the resource which is weird cuz It does recognizes single channeled tasks that I created. I think Im missing something fundamental on the block diagram...

You can give this a try on your Ultimate machine.  While these are said to be for Vista, I used it on my Win 7 machine just fine and it fixed the problems I was having.  Hope it works for you.
The problem is that Vista, by default, will only use NTLMv2 for authentication, which is not supported by Mac OS X's Windows Sharing service.
The other problem is the Minimum Session Security for NTVLM SSP based Clients.
    To get around this:
    1.     In Vista, open the Control Panel
    2.     Switch to "Classic" view
    3.     Double-click Administration Tools
    4.     Double-click Local Security Policy
    5.     Or Secpol.msc
    6.     Expand "Local Policies" and select "Security Options"
    7.     Alternate : Type secpol.msc to get editor up then
    8.     Locate "Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level" in the list and double-click it.
    9.     Change the setting from "Send NTMLv2 response only" to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session if negotiated"
    10.     Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP Based (including secure RPC) Clients
    11.     Change the setting from "require 128 bit" to unchecked (No Minimum)
    12.     Click OK

  • Record two channels in one signal for GB ipad

Is it possible to record in two channels I'm GB for ipad with one input signal?
    Message was edited by: RudyDA

If each channel is a 1D array, then use the build array function to create a 2D array and wire that to the graph. If each channel is a waveform data type, Use the build array to create a 1D array of waveforms and wire that to the graph. Look at the shipping example called Waveform Graph.
