NI PXIe 8361 card not detected

Hello,
I have a problem with a NI card.
I had my NI PXIe 8361 card mounted on a windows XP, connected to a PXIe1073 frame. It all worked fine.
Since then, I changed my PC, I now have a new one with windows 7.
I've installed LabView, DAQmx but when I insert the card into the computer and connect it to the frame, nothing happens.
-> on the card the green leds are on
-> on the frame the green power led is on but the link led is off
-> in the device manager of NI MAX I don't see any NI PXIe 8361
despite various attempts it won't work, did I missed something? something more to install?
Thanks in advance for your help.

There was nothing in the slot before, first use of it.
There are other slots and I've already tried them, same result.
I don't have any other card to test :/
But what can be the problem with the PC ? I think everything is installed, lights on the card are green and the PC is new with much higher performances than the old one.
Looks like you need to install PXI Platform Services. http://www.ni.com/download/pxi-platform-services-14.0/4897/en/

  • PXIe-1073 sytem not detected

I connected a PXIe-1073 system (PXIe-6363 and PXI-2567 connected) to the PC (running Windows 7) and the PC does not detect the chassis. It started happening when I recently upgraded to LabVIEW 2013 and NI-DAQmx 9.7.5.
I also installed the MXI BIOS compatibility software Ver 1.4, changed the DIP switch1 to ON position on the MXI express card 8361 and rebooted the computer. That did not solve the problem.
Then, I upgraded to PXI Platform services 3.2.3 and restarted the computer. I still don't see PXI system recognized in NI MAX. When the computer was restarted, the 8361's MXI card's switch 1 was still in ON position.
Any ideas on how to fix this issue ?
    Thanks

    Hi Matt
    Sorry for delay in replying.
After a lot of uninstallation/installation/repair of different driver versions, i have currently got the following software (see attached pic): NI-DAQmx 9.5.5, Ni PXI platform services 3.2.1.
In the picture, you can  see that all my cards are detected in NI-DAQmx devices as Dev1, Dev2 etc.
My PXIe-1073 is not detected or listed in MAX. I expect to see chassis controller detected and all the cards listed under the chassis controller as "PXI2slot2" device or "PXI2slot4" device etc.
The attached pic shows NI-MAX and device manager snap shot.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

  • MXI3 (NI PXI-8330) board not detected. Not powering up, no link light.

MXI3 (NI PXI-8330) board not detected. Not powering up, no link light. Cable looks fine. Any ideas?

    PeteMan,
I will need to know in more detail how your system is behaving to give you better tips, so please feel free to send me more information.
For now, let me send you a couple of troubleshooting tips:
    Cable connection
Make sure both ends of the copper cable are well connected to the PCI-MXI-3 and the PXI-MXI-3 boards. Be careful when disconnecting the copper connectors. you need to push down the plastic connector so it does not get damaged. Damaged connectors could result in bad MXI-3 links.
If the connector has not been used properly, it could be broken (this rarely happens). Make sure you are not connecting the cable backwards.
    Power - Up order.
It seems you are controlling your PXI chassis using a PCI-to-PXI extender (copper cable). Make sure you are powering up the PXI chassis BEFORE powering up the PC.
PXI is built on top of the CompactPCI spec, so it uses the PCI high speed bus. The MXI-3 extender is really a PCI-to-PCI bridge toyour computer, so for your PC, all the slots in the PXI chassis look like more PCI slots. In other words, your computer suddenly has more PCI slots.
It is very important to power up the PXI chassis first before powering up the computer, because at power up the PC enumerates all PCI slots. If the PXI chassis is OFF during boot up, the slots in the PXI chassis will never get enumerated and your PC will never see the board installed in the PXI chassis.
    Normal Power up LED sequence
Each MXI-3 board has four LED light on its front panel: two green lights (POWER and LINK) and two orange lights (Tx and Rx). When you power up the PXI chassis you should see one green light and one orange light ON steadily (POWER and ). Then, when you power up the PC, both green lights shoudl be ON steadily and the orange lights shoudl flicker.
If you do not see this behaviour at power up, most probably one of your boards its damage.
If you have another MXI-3 extender kit, try to set up the system mixing the boards from the two kits to try isolate which board is the one that is damaged.
    Run the MXI-3 Optimization Software
The MXI-3 Optimizaton Software makes sure that the link between the PC and the PXI chassis has been set up properly. It will show you an error otherwise.
    MXI-3 Software Version 1.15 for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME
The PC powers up fine if the PXI chassis is OFF, but if I turn on the PXI chassis first and then try to power up my PC, my PC does not boot
There are several things that could be causing this behaviour:
It could be that your PC has an old BIOS that has issues detecting PCI-to-PCI bridges. You could try upgrading the BIOS.
A part of the hardware could be damaged. If you have a main-stream computer (like a DELL or HP PC, for example), test your MXI-3 extender in it to make sure that the hardware is in good conditions. Main-stream computers tend to use new Motherboards with good BIOS.

My Z30 just few months old, sim card not detect, can someone help? thanks a lot..

    Let us know.

  • PXI cards not detected

I'm using SignalExpress with a NI PXIe-1062Q chassis and the following cards:
    PXIe-8360
    PXI-4071 DMM
    PXIe-6556 waveform generator/analyser
    PXI-4110
All cards are detected by NI MAX. However when I create a waveform in SignalExpress, it's unable to see my hardware. It can see the 4071.
I'm following the correct startup procedure of booting the chassis first, then booting my PC.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello AidanFrost,
The reason for this could probably be that you may not have the correct drivers installed. Which drivers do you have on you computer at the moment ?

  • PXI-6602 is not detected by M&A

    Hello,
I have a PXI-1033 (integrated MXIe card) chassis with a PXI-6602 module installed in it.
Measurement & Automation Explorer shows only PXI System (Undifined), please see attached file (1.jpg). In the list "Identify as" I can not see NI-1033 controller. Before that I have installed software form "NI PXI Platform Service". When I choose NI-1033 controller from CD the message "could not import controller information" is appeared, when I choose any other controller, Measurement & Automation Explorer shows "chassis" which I can identify as PXI-1033. But there is no possibility to detect PXI-6602 card by Measurement & Automation Explorer.
System information: Win XP, LabView 8.5.1,NIDAQ922f0 drivers are installed.
    So, the questions:
    1. Why there is no DAQmx branch in Measurement & Automation Explorer tree with PXI-6602 card?
    2. How can I test my PXI-6602 card (it absolutely new, but...)?
    3. How it is possible to install correct controller for PXI-1033 chassis?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
the problem discussed in the previous message was fixed and here is the solution:
After additional investigation it was found that the issue is with "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. (Code 12)". This topic was discussed (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/04C12CB4A5143ECC862572DC007B8DF6). But it did not help. I updated the BIOS in my Laptop (Dell Vostro 3300) from A05 to A09 version. But it did not help again.
After that I found a "MSI-Express BIOS Compatibility Software". Installation this software fixed the problem.
Hope this information will be helpful.

  • PCMCIA Realtek Ethernet card not detected

Hi, I'm trying to use a PCMCIA Etherner Card with Realtek chip.
If the card it's already plugged when booting, Udev takes 180000 ms to finish and the card doesn't work. If it's plugged while booted, dmesg shows that there's a "something" at SmartCardBus but, again, card doesn't get recognized.
"Ifconfig -a" shows nothing, and I know the card works 'cause I've tryed with an Ubuntu cd and the cards works perfect. I've looked for the modules, and 8139too & 8139cp where loaded, wich I've tryed in arch and still doesn't work, It also detects the same hardware with lspci (Arch detects the Cardbus but not the realtek card, Ubuntu detects both) and lspcmcia.
Ubuntu is using kernel 2.6.27-7 and Arch 2.6.28.

    Nevermind...It's Kernel 2.6.28...I'm a lucky guy, eh? :-(
Booted into Arch Overlod cd and a simple lspci show my shiny new card...Now  i'm going to erase my hole system (it was new anyway) and check if a Suy breaks the drivers again. In that case, i should file a bug somewhere, right?

  • Sound Blaster Live 24-bit PCI Sound Card and Creative Sound Blaster PCI Card not detect

Ok here is my problem. I bought a Creative Sound Blaster PCI sound card a while back and it was working fine but recently when I would boot up my computer and try to play music say off of Winamp it says Bad DirectSound Driver. When I check device manager it shows no sound card there and in sounds and audio devices it says no audio device. Now my brother believed this to be a card fault so we went to Frys and bought a Sound Blaster Li've 24-bit PCI card. I uninstalled the old drivers and installed this new one but yet it's the same problem. My assumption was that Windows XP had something conflicting so I reinstalled the OS. It found the card and I installed the latest drivers?off of this site but now it does the same thing yet again with a fresh install of Windows XP. The card has been in all 3 of my PCI slots and it will detect it for a moment but then acts like as if the card was never installed. Like I never installed a sound card into the computer. The onboard audio has been disabled for a while now but I do not know what the problem could be. I did Scan for hardware changes but it doesn't show up. Sometimes when the card is detected if I do scan for hardware changes and the card is there it will just magically disappear from the device manager as if it was never there. Even when I try to load music and I see the card is detected it will not play the music and ends up locking up Winamp to the point that sometimes will go BSOD. Now I would really like to find out what the issue is because I am planning this weekend to swap out my motherboard with a duplicate board to see if that will end up fixing the problem but I want to find out if there is any other way to fix this issue. Thank you.Message Edited by AuXoIs on 02-25-200808:28 PM

Hmm what other options is there for the bios on PCI slots? Also anything you connect to the motherboard can have oxidization (I think its that) build up on the connection. Check the connector on the card and get a eraser (Pen eraser is better) and give it a good cleaning. The connector might have alot of build-up on it and you can see it by a dark yellowy colour. I cleaned my graphics card and ram connectors after they got alot of the build-up on them. On a older computer my graphics stopped working and this fixed it. Also I went away for a while (like a month) and came back to see that my puter didn't display anything. Opened it up and saw that the graphic card had alot of corrosion? on the card connector and in the slot. Does that if you computer is turned of for a long time. Had a heck of time trying to clean the slot out. One other thing that it could be is the sound card is faulty. I had an audigy 2 and it died a while back . It picks it up and then try and use it computer freezes and the after restart it's not there anymore. Hope it's not that problem. Hope this gives you something to go by.

  • SanDisk microSD card not detected

    Greetings,
My 8900 model is not detecting the 2 GB microSD card I just purchased for it. I have triple checked  the insertion, rebooted the device, updated the software, reformatted the card on my PC, and set the  Memory options to automatically detect and use a media card once inserted.
Can anyone tell me why the card is still not being detected? Many thanks!

Also keep in mind that what ever else you have stored on the phone memory will limit the amount of messages as the phone memory is a shared space.
Contacts, Images, Ringtones, Music, Calendar entries and other things stored on the phone memory limits the space left to be use by messages. Go to your gallery and see what you have stored in phone memory and try to put it on the memory card instead.
You can also try to do the following :
    Menu->Gallery->Options->Memory Status->Phone Memory
You should get a break down of the usage as in :

Currently running OS X 10.5.8 on a Mid 2009 MacBook Pro.
Here's the issue. When I boot up the machine and click the AirPort drop down it tells me that there is no airport card detected. Under system profiler it says the same thing. If I boot to a 10.6 Mac OS Install DVD and open system profiler, the AirPort card is detected. This occurred after a reboot prompted by the Security Update 2010-001.
So far I have repaired permissions and repaired disk. No fix.
I reset the PRAM/NVRAM and SMC. No fix.
I booted to an OS X image on an external drive. No fix.
I cannot boot to the Apple Hardware Test (D at startup) because my company requires PGP disk encryption. I could decrypt but this would take at least 6 hours (not counting re-encrypting afterwards).
I tried replacing the extensions. No fix.

Please check this because due to missing and not installed 3G Ericsson driver, the sim module would not be recognized by system and the inserted sim card could not be handled.

  • New Help Pls! Sound Card Not Detected

    Hello,
I decided to re-install windows 7 because it has been a long time since I had a "clean" install. I had my Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer installed and it worked fine. But after I re-installed windows 7, the sound card would not be detected.
Because this happened to me last time I installed windows 7, I wiped my system dri've (C) and re-installed windows. However, this did not fixed the issue because the card is still not detected and it shows yellow in the device manager.
In my second install, I removed the card before installing windows because I thought it would detect it after the installation but it didn't.
I have tried installing manually, but it says:
Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WMD) not found
I am really running out of ideas here and I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix this.

I just tried to move the sound card to another PCI slot, I uninstalled the devices in the media manager, turned off the PC and switched the card. I made sure there was no dust.
I also disabled onboard audio. When I turned the PC back on the computer tried to install drivers for new devices but failed. I still cannot install my drivers -.-
If it helps, the card shows as "Multimedia Audio Controller" under "Other Devices"...

  • Sound card not detecting digital cab

I'm having a problem getting the digital out to work on my X-Fi Gamer. I purchased the card and also the breakout box that provides s/pdif i/o via coax and digital through the /8 jack. I connect it via an optical cable to my surround receiver. I've installed all the proper software, etc, and I can get absolutely no sound.
My thought is that the card is not detecting my optical connection. In the "flexijack" options everything is grayed out and I cannot choose digital at all. In speaker set up it has the analog connections marked at plugged in (with cords coming out) and not the flexijack connection. Only the flexijack is plugged in on the card, though. Per other posts on the boards I've made sure no other sound devices are set as default, and my onboard sound is disabled completely. I'm using a creative approved adapter (the digital i/o box) with a working cable, and working receiver. Any help would be really appreciated.
I'm running windows Media Center XP 2005, by the way.

Hey MrE, did you ever get this issue sorted?
I had exactly the same symptoms recently with my new system build, and it ended up being caused by a conflict with my video card.  When I booted the system using the motherboards onboard video, my ice1712 card would then be detected by ALSA and worked as it should.
I ended up moving my video card to the 2nd / bottom PCI-E on my motherboard and this got around the issue
