Ni vision led panel test

Hi,
I have no Labview experience and looking into use labview/ni vision to test the LED panel.
here is the detail:
The panel is about 2'x2' and have 20x20 LED (pixels). I can change the LED to diferent colors and
will try to capture the LEDs image to see if any dead, wrong color on LED.
Seem like NI vision can do the job. If yes, Please let me know how can I go from here.
Thanks,
PPham

Hi,
You could for instance threshold the image to get the parts "over" a certain color to stand out. Otherwise you could use the golden template function where you compare your image with a template of a perfect image with correct LED color.
After both two examples you would get an image containing the correct LEDs as badly drawn filled circles. Then you could use a morphology function to enhance the circles appearance to be able thereafter to count them correctly.
Hope it helps. I advise you to post vision questions in the proper Machine Vision part of the forum in the future to get adequate response more easily.

HELLO, I RECENTLY PURCHASED A IMAC COMPUTER FROM A FRIEND AND IT WOULDNT POWER ON. I TOOK THE FRONT SCREEN PANEL OFF TO GET TO THE POWER SUPPLY AND NOTICED THE LEDS. SO I DECIDED TO DO THE LED DIAGNOSTICS TEST.
WHEN I CONNECT THE POWER CORD THE LED#1 BLINKS ON THE COMES BACK ON AND STAYS ON. WHEN I PUSH THE POWER BUTTON LED#1 TURNS OFF AND NOTHING HAPPENS.
COULD IT BE THE POWER SUPPLY OF SOMETHING ELSE? I LOOKED AT THE POWER SUPPLY AND NOTHING LOOKS BURNT OUT.

Can't answer your query, since I don't open up iMacs; however, posting in all caps is consider shouting. Please don't do that, since it's very disconcerting.

  • No light coming from the LED panel

    Hi,
I had to remove the LED panel on my X220 and when I put it back, the light of the LED is no longer working. The panel remain dark but when I put a flashlight behind I can see the displayed image.
I tried the to put a new flat cable, but this didn't solve the problem.
    My question:
Is there any fuse that can be changed?
Is there a way to bring power to LED panel?
    Regards.

    Hi
    Welcome to community
I am suspecting the  LCD cable causing the issue . You can try by swapping the parts
    Hope This Helps

  • Where can I download "Vision Remote Panel Engine"

    Hi,
I'd like to be able to view a Real-Time application on a remote computer (without LabVIEW installed). I've installed LabVIEW RunTime 8.5.1 and the image that I display (on the web server) in the VI is always black. I found this post: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=115188&query.id=35023#M115188 which has the same problem as mine and in a reply they send me to a Knowledge page: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/9286727047B6736086256D5D00781BB2?OpenDocument
In this page, it says that I need to download Vision Remote Panel Engine (which is free) to be able to display the image that I acquire with my smart camera 1722. Where can I download this? I don't want to download Vision Runtime because it's not free..
    Thank you for your help
    Stephanie

    Hi Mike,
So you mean that I only need to install LabView runtime and I'm supposed to see the image that I acquire in the Image Display?
My problem is that I see the indicator, but the image is always black. I guess I miss something. In the second link I gave, in the related link, it refers to Vision Acquisition Software download. I'm installing it right now. Hope  it's gonna solve my problem.
I never get a prompt message when I was in the web browser and I'm not even connected on the internet (I'm only connected to the smart camera and I have a fixed IP address).
Let's see if I see something with Vision Acquisition Software...
    Thank you
    Stephanie

  • Uneven lid and out of place LED panel

Hi and thanks in advance for any help on this. This past week I noticed that when my MBP is closed the lid is uneven. The front right hand side clearly sits higher than the left. Additionally I realized that in the top right corner of the screen you can see that the LED panel is not lined up with the black border on the glass. It appears to also be like this on the lower right corner of the display but to a much lesser extent. (I tried to photograph this but the gloss of the display makes it impossible to see in the photos). My warranty is still active so is this something I should bother having repaired or just live with? Personally it bothers a good bit but I don't know if I'm just being picky about it. Thanks again.

You should certainly contact Apple and have this condition evaluated, as it sounds like it could be a manufacturing defect which could possibly lead to further trouble on down the line. You definitely want to bring it up while you are still under warranty and something can be done about it at no cost to you.
    Good luck!

  • Debug led panel

I have just bought x79a gd65 military class board  but  when i render any file on it my debug led panel shows temperature above 51, is this harmful for my board ...with normal msi bios setting i haven't done any oc on my board ....my processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3201 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) bios ,Memory (RAM)   16.0 GB SMBIOS Version   2.7

You could look in the BIOS for a setting to disable mainboard LED control, but it may not disable that feature. Worth a try though.

    Dear guys,
I need some help with my motherboard, recently did a new set up but having some problem. My computer is unable to boot most of the time but sometime it is able to post.
Been having this problem since i did the new set up but recently it is unable to boot most of the time.
It appears to be stuck showing 2A on the led debug panel unable to get past that.
my set up as follows :
    AMD Phenom X4 965
    890FXA-gd70'
    8gb ram Team elite ddr3 1333 cl9 2x4gb kit
    sapphire 5770 vapourcool x2 Crossfire
western digital 1 tb caviar black x2 Raid 0
    Coolermaster slient pro 600w psu
    Running Win 7
    Bios version 1.7.
All drivers are the latest I have from the MSI website, graphic drivers are the latest I have from ATI.
Crossfire has been installed as instructed from the manual, slot 1(closet to the cpu and slot 5)

The mainboard can't be unstable at crossfire,
but eventually broken one of the VGA's or weak PSU yes.

What do you suggest if I am still stuck on 2A after using only 1 graphic card?
If that hapends, test with the second VGA alone in the 1st PCI-E slot

Also leave one memory stick only in 1st DIMM close to CPU socket,

    and try to boot

  • Winamp Plugin for LED Panel

    Hi
First of all this is a very very unstable and experimental pre-release of the winamp plugin I'm developing at the moment. You can get its binarys at http://n.ethz.ch/student/nschmid/MSIStuff/winamp.zip. Source code isn't available at this state but I will add it soon when it makes a bit of progress.
Well there aren't a lot of functions at the moment. It just shows track nr, time, volume on the LCD of your MEGA when Winamp is running.
Installation instruction: Copy the files in the archive to the winamp plugins folder. Thats all. I'm sure that I will integrate some options and if it's possible CD support (at the moment it's just MP3 lighting). Please try the binary and give me a feedback.
NOTE: the plugin was just tested on a MEGA 180. All other user should be aware that the plugin may destroy your system. In the case your LCD freezes just shutdown and restart.
    Regards

Yes you're right. Are you using time remaining? I only have this effect if I'm using time remaining. Unfortunatly I can't do anything about it. I think it's a bug in the Winamp API

Yes I'm using Time-Remaing. But sometimes it's workings en sometimes it won't work.
Also sometimes when I quit Winamp it doesn't clean up the display correctly. The volume and equalizer are still visible.
    Butt stil a great plugin!

  • Can LED panels be repaired?

    Guys,
My 27" Cinema Display made a bad tumble that shattered the glass panel, and damaged the LED behind it.
The DIsplay still works fien except that at the location it was damaged there is a permanent pink smudge of about 1,5-2" long by about 1/4" wide on the top center part (approx). I know I can get the glass replaced quite easily (It's magnetic), but someone at a repair shop told me they could possibly repair it.
I haven't heard of such repairs and honestly I don't believe it's possible, but before dismissing it (which would result in me having to buy a new cinema display) I was wondering if anyone knew if this was possible at all.
    Thanks!
    Kryn

Can you even buy one to try yet?

Hello I have an HP Pavilion x2 10 and it has a very annoying problem. The screen is randomly flickering especiall when set to a low bringhtness setting. Pages with white backgrounds are more noticable but still the screen flickers a lot. Tried to disable Intel HD grapfics power saving but still the issue is there.
    any ideas?
It flickers both docked and undocked and on power or AC ... sometimes it stops for 30-40 seconds but after a while it starts to flicker again.

  • I have a 27" Flat Panel Cinema Display with a failed LED panel. How much would this cost to get fixed?

Just wondering if it's worth it to get fixed, or if I should just save my money for a new one. It is currently out of warranty. Any information would be great!

Save your money.  The repair costs will be the same as buying a brand new Cinema Display.  Dell sells the same IPS display with different connectors, but they include a 3 year warranty.

  • Controlling Front Panel LEDs

This is hopefully a simple problem, but I can't figure out what to search under.  I have a program with two loops (Z Only Test and Full Test in Tester Program v2).  They do not run at the same time.  I would like both loops to interact with an LED on the front panel (Testing).  How is this done?
Under Z Only Test, it works fine.  I tried to connect it to the sequence (Full Test), but it tells me I can't do that.  On odd sequences, for the most part, I would like to have the LED light (TRUE).  On evens, off.

Do you mean make the LED a shared variable?  How do you do that?  I clicked on it and changed it to a variable, but I thought that was like one of the others that I have.  I'll give it a try and see what happens.
I would assume whatever works for this would also work for numerical displays as well.
No.  I'm not even sure exactly what you mean by clicked on the LED "and changed it to a variable."
Right now you have only a single place where you use that LED.  It has a terminal node on your block diagram within a while loop.  I don't know how that fits into your overall program architecture as your VI is quite expansive.  (Two tips, 1.  Don't use stacked sequences.  2.  Look into a state machine architecture)
All that happens at that point is your read from a shared variable called "Testing".  I'm not sure from where else in your VI that you want to interact with that front panel indicator.  Or whether it will conflict with the already written piece of code.   I also don't know where this shared variable is written to. But the first idea is have the other sections of the code write to the shared variable and let this one update the front panel indicator.
The second idea is to create a local variable of the front panel indicator.  Right click on the terminal within your code and select Create / Local Variable.  But again, you will have to be careful with conflicts with the different portions of your code writing to the LED.  This is also known as a "race condition".
(Yes you can use either shared variables to store numeric data, or create local variables of numeric controls or indicators.)
I'm a bit nervous about your code.  It looks like you have a decent amount of LV experience as you have created quite a sophisticated VI there.  However, it doesn't seem like it is easy to expand or modify.  It takes up quite a bit of screen real estate.  It doesn't use any subVI's even though a lot of the code seems to be duplicated or very similar.  And it seems like it uses a lot of shared variables, probably more than necessary.

  • 865PRO LED (VFD) panel, again

There was  a great thread here about MegaPC LCD panels quite a long time ago, I was really impressed by the patience of some forum members that  did the reverse engineering and found the LED codes (all that instead of the MSI project manager to approve the release of a 2-page API document with a 2KB .H/.LIB fike  )  I wonder if something has changed since.
I can not tolerate the situation where I have a MegaPC 865PRO with a nice LED panel and controls (IMHO a very essential part of a meida center) and they don't work in popular applications like MCE/SageTV/Meedio etc. Proper standby/hibernate in Windows makes the InstantOn thing nearly useless, so in a normal working Windows mode the LED/controls become just an expensive and unnecessary piece of decoration I wasted my money for. Sorry for "touching the nerve" again, I just wanted to ask two questions:
    1. Do the DLL and LED code findings in the topic I mentioned above apply for 865PRO?
    2. If not,  can we do something about that? We have a limited ability to make a real pressure on MSI but still we have (or tell me I'm wrong and too naive).

    Quote from: kane81 on 08-January-06, 11:02:47
ability to display the time would be awsome!
turn off the eq bar that doesnt really work, it just does random patterns.
    display track names? movie names?
cpu temperature etc. I see the panel has a temp indicator, just it isnt used.
Can you give details on how you work out how to control the LCD? what steps?
The 865PRO LED firmware seems doesn't have a built-in clock, but the control library can send command to show time HH:MM:SS at the "time position" on the LED panel, so writing the clock application would be very easy. Regarding the names, the LED panel is not able to display names, the main positions are only digits: depending on the mode, you can display track number with time or chapter number with time or temperature or cooler RPM. In simple words, the panel can display any number in one of 2 positions (or either of them) and also turn on predefined words/labels:  "track", "chapter","temperature","RPM", "FM" and few others. There are also nice icons for the mode (TV,Radio,Music, etc.), few icons for the sound mode, equalizer mode, repeat mode and the equalizer bar itself. Everything can be turned on/off separately.
The LED firmware of 865PRO has a nice (and very helpful command  ) to test the LED panel by showing up every possible visual element in a loop. I discovered it while searching for available codes and used it to ensure my code table is quite complete.
About the details.. I don't think you need to control the LCD by yourself. It should be done by appropriate plugin for the application you use which would control the LED panel by TurnOn(element) and TurnOff(element) functions.

  • IMac backlight OR LED Screen Panel Problem.

So for about 6 months now i've noticed these 'smudge marks' people have been talking about behind the glass screen in my iMac 27" which is a late 2011 model (about 13/14 months old) and was bought new fro the iMac store.
Then about 6 weeks ago i started having problems with what i thought was the backlight. After 5 minutes or so of being on my iMac, the screen would all dim a little and sometimes flicker for a fw seconds until it halted at a certain level of brightness (which i couldnt make brighter with the brightness volume buttons.) It became more frequent over the weeks and some times went completely black but i waited to take it into Apple because i live in Leeds UK and i knew there was a new Apple store being opened (Thursday 21st March 2013). Normally i would have to travel to the Meadowhall Centre (Sheffield).
So sure enough, i went in on the open day and they took in my iMac telling me it was the backlight. They quoted me £109 including VAT whih i was willing to pay. I had a phonecall today 25/3/13 from the store telling me they had replaced the backlight and the problem was still occouring so they would need to replace the LED Panel. I was also told this would cost me over £300 + VAT! No way can i afford to pay that and i'm probably not alone when i say it took me long enough to save for the iMac itself! Theres obviously a serious issue with the backlights and LED Panels of iMacs dating back since before the iMac models first came about. I don't smoke, one of the 'Geniuses' in the Apple store even commented on how well it had been looked after, there are no radiators near my studio, it is very well ventillated and isnt over used, so this obviously isnt a case of not looking after it propely. I don't understand why i have to pay over £300 if this is a MAJOR fault with apples product and not mine. Tomorrow i have to pick up my iMac (still broken) and simply work with the problem which i'm pretty sure soon, will be almost impossible if the screen continues to go black and fail on me.
    Recap:
    My questions are these.
What is causing the problems with the iMac backlight/LED Panel?
Why have Apple not done anything about this fault since it's been going on years now?
Why should i have to pay over £300 to fix APPLES FAULT.
And finally, has anyone here won an argument similar to this that were out of warranty and not had to pay?
    Thanks,
    Billy.

    Hi Billy, sad, isn't it!?
Some have paitiently worked their way through Applecare to get to a point where you can ask to speak to a customer service rep, & some have gotten satisfaction that way.
On the LCD, I wonder if it isn't that LCD cable problem...
