NIC Config Design options

Hi,
I am getting ready to create my first Server 2012R2 Hyper-v failover cluster. I have 2 servers with 6 NICs each and a HP ISCSI SAN. My question is what is the best way to configure the 6 NICs on each machine to support this? There are some
choices that seem required:
2 NICs from each server to connect to the ISCSI SAN
Other than that I need the regular stuff. I have seen some posts where the author recommends using one nic for heartbeat and admin, others that say no to this, etc. If you were configuring this from scratch, what is the best way?

The operative word there is you. There is no universally correct way.
I would have two physical NICs set aside for iSCSI in MPIO configuration.
I would put the other four in a converged configuration and run all host, cluster, and VM networks on it. Because this organization does not overcommit resources, we have an intentionally low VM-to-host ratio and we have intelligent, redundant
switches, so I would configure the ports in a LACP team in Dynamic or Address Hash balancing mode, depending on what the expected needs were. Those are the best choices for
me.
You might have a high VM-to-host ratio with basic switches, in which case you might prefer a switch independent team in Dynamic or Hyper-V Port mode.
You might not want your management traffic sharing lines with your VM networks, so you might make two teams instead of one.
The answer really depends on what you want and what your systems need. About the only thing I can say is you're right to not team iSCSI NICs and that you should think hard before isolating any role on a single physical NIC when you have so many at your disposal.
I would definitely
read this to get an idea of what your options are. After that, test out some configurations and see.
IMO, people do a lot of unnecessary hand-wringing over these questions. Unless you're in an environment where every packet matters, just about any configuration you come up with will be just fine in day-to-day uses.

ASA5515X failover design options

Hi,
Client has a 5515X and two ISP connections and a 2911 router to use for ISP connections. The 2911 as configured only has three ports.
They nat a lot of stuff to public ips. What are my options for designing ISP failover?

ASA will just have one static default route towards your 2911.

Crystal Designer option missing in SAP B1

I have re-installed Crystal 2008 and SAP Crystal add on in my PC, Now I donu2019t see the Crystal designer tab option available which I had before. I followed the same steps which I have done before. I have .net framework 3.5. Not sure what I have missed to get this tab. any idea?

Go to add remove program > click change/modify for the integration kit and kae sure to add "SAP tool bar".

Like Ben suggested, you can vote for the feature using the link provided. From what I understand, the product team is collecting feedback on the limitations of Live View for FG layouts and improving experience on that front. It would help if you could provide a list of limitations with the current workflow.

Layer 3 config design on Nexus 5500 with Fabric Path

i would like to know if can configure my layer3 on 5500 and configure Fabric path to uplink switch

You can configure layer-3 on the 5500 series, but you need to install a daughter cards in each 5500.

Cannot find the "Import Designs" option in BPM Studio/JDev 11.1.1.3

I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 and the corresponding BPM studio.
I cannot see the option to "Import Designs" as described here:

You first need to first download the Oracle Business Process Converter by going to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bpm/downloads/downloads-097443.html
1. Sign in and accept the license agreement.
2. Expand "Prerequisites & Recommended Install Process"
3. Scroll down until you see "Oracle Business Process Converter" and download this.
4. From the downloaded file, save the tutor_bpm_integrator.zip file into a temporary directory somewhere on your hard drive.
Next you need to install it into your existing 11.1.1.5 JDeveloper installation
5. Open JDeveloper -> click Help -> click Check for Updates -> click the "Install From Local File" option and browse to the tutor_bpm_integrator.zip file you just saved -> click Next -> Finish.
Finally, to import the Visio vdx file
6. To insert the Visio vdx file into an Existing Project, in JDeveloper open an Application -> in the Appication Navigator tab right mouse click an existing project -> click Import Models... -> in the "File Type" dropdown, select Visio and browse for the .vdx file to open and import.

Where is "CSS Designer option in Dreamweaver CS6? I do not see it in the "window" dropdown..

I am watching a tutorial on wordpress and dreamweaver. In the tutorial, the instructor starts CSS Designer by going to "window" menu item. The option is there. When I go to it, the option is NOT there. What gives??@

The CSS Designer panel is a fairly new addition to DW. The version of DW you are using is older than the tutorial video by at least one version.
There were quite a few changes between these versions...
DWCS6 Perpetual (disk/one-time download)
DWCS6 Cloud (subscription)
DWCC (first one with the CSS Designer panel)
DWCC 2014
You really should make sure any tutorial you use matches your exact version of the program. Even if it does, updates to the cloud versions may make that information outdated in short order.

Spec wishlist: Renderer config/customization options

I'm hoping that perhaps those involved in future JSF specs might lurk around here.
I was wondering if there was a plan in near future to add configurable customization to components when they are output by a specific Renderer.
Currently it's very cumbersome to add client side JavaScript to existing HTML components as you have to override code (and the code is specific per JSF implementation). A better option would be to:
- associate small pieces of text with a component,
- allow one to add onblur/onfocus (etc) attributes to components and,
- have the RenderKit do things like ensure that JavaScript segments are only added to the page once, and other housekeeping/lifecycle items.
Ideally the scripts and attributes would be applied to the component (in which case they are always added to the output), or associated with the component if certain validators and/or converts are attached to the component. Note in the example below that one of the attribute values uses EL to resolve runtime options - I'm not sure if this is the best way to go but it allows rich customization without resorting to code and that is my intent.
Finally, if the configuration could be applied to a UIComponent and a 'render type' (like HTML) instead of the specific Renderer implementation itself, that would be much cleaner.

Technical design options for File to File scenario

Dear all,
I need some inputs on the below requirement.
SAP BW system has to send some reporting data to one of the end systems.
1. What are the ways of interfacing between SAP BW and SAP XI. (I mean RFC, IDOC or File based mechanism)
2. The proposed way was File mechanism, BW producing a file and XI picking it up and sending it to the target system.
3. The file size of 1GB, can XI handle such huge amount of data. What is the maximum file size which XI can handle.
4. We need to archive the data after it has been transmitted to the receiver.
    1) Do we have any standard way of archiving in XI.How long will the messages be stored in XI.
    2) For any extra archival period, do we need to any configuration.
Please provide your inputs in finalizing this design.

You can Try Proxy to send the message from BW to PI

    The file size depends upon the Hardware ofthe system, If you Chunk and send the message that will be cool

As per your Requirement, As a default the messages processed in PI will be stored for 30 days.

IPConfig shows multiple IPs, NIC config does not?

I'm not having a problem, but I am curious as to what is going on with my situation.
I have 4 servers (Win Server 2008 R2 SP1) with two NICs. The servers are in 2 Oracle RAC clusters, NOT Windows clusters. What I've noticed is, if I do an IPCONFIG /ALL at the command line, it shows two IPv4 addresses for one NIC, and one IPv4
for the second NIC. So far, so good.
However, if I pull up the NIC properties in the GUI, and look at the IPv4 settings (in the Advanced section,) it only shows one IP.
I'm really just curious as to why this is. I'm presuming that whoever set up these servers (said person was gone when I started, and left no documentation...) set the 2nd IP using netsh most likely. But I would still expect both IPs to show in
the GUI.

Sorry, I should've been more clear in my description.
If I go to Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Right-click on one of the NICs -> Properties -> Highlight IPv4 -> Properties -> Advanced, the "IP Settings, IP Addresses" box only shows a single IP / Subnet listed.
If I drop to a command prompt and do "IPCONFIG /ALL," then the same NIC lists two IPs, two subnets.
ex: 192.168.1.xxx / 255.255.255.0 and 192.168.2.xxx / 255.255.255.0
Those are *NOT* the actual IPs, but examples (I'm not at work.)
There are two NICs shown in Network Connections, the second one only shows one IP in either of the situations above, and said IP is *NOT* the 2nd IP shown by the first.
Vivian: It's not a DNS issue. While I have no access to the DNS servers themselves, doing an NSLOOKUP on the servers names shows both the IPs listed for the NIC I'm curious about.
As I said, nothing is *broken* this is just me being curious as to how this was set.

When to use the Export To Data Moderler design option

Is there an advantage or difference between sending someone a model created using the Export > "To Data Modeler Design" tool as opposed to just sending them a copy of the folder tree for the same model? If yes, could you please explain what the differences are?

you can export just one relational model or objects belonging to one or several subviews.

Missing Page Design options

I recently made a book using the Travel theme, and found that many of the page options I had used in the past were not available. Is this a software glitch in the lastest version? I liked to use the 2 photo to a page option with a text area, and that was not offered this time. The only type of page that offered the option of adding text was four pictures to a page. Has anyone else had this problem? Is Apple aware of it?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There might be a permissions issues with some of the file inside the iPhoto application. Try the following:
Open the iPhoto application package (Control-click and select show package contents). Now locate the Plugins folder and and manually set the ownership and permissions as follows:
You can Read and Write
Owner: You
Access: Read and Write
Group: admin
Access: Read and Write
Others: Read Only
Then click on the Apply to enclosed items... button.
Do the same for the Resources folder and all the other folders in there. Maybe a long shot but in the past there have been messed up access which have turned off certain functions in iPhoto.
