Nice to have....

Been using ADE for a while now and although I doubt anyone will consider them these are what I think needs to be added:
1 - Ability to search by PUBLICATION date - this way since the next one is highly unlikely at least you can work out the order of a trilogy etc...
2 - Ability to modify the file name / meta data in the file so that it can be amended to show sequence in a series of books (eg Book name_trilogy 1 of 3) Alternatively this is one for the people who name the books when they publish them...
3 - Dump the black colour scheme or at least let use meer users choose...
Any one got anything else to add?

Dock: dwell setting would be "nice-to-have"

FireFox's "Tab Mix Plus" extension offers a feature that would be "nice-to-have" for the Dock. I've got my dock in the "automatically hide and show" mode. Often I mistakenly move my mouse to the edge of the display where the dock is hidden; but the amount of dwell time required to un-hide the dock is not under my control. I would like to be able to set the number of msec that the cursor must dwell on that edge before the dock unhides. As it is, when the dock launches, the only thing I can do to hide it again is to move my cursor off that edge. Often, I do this while cursing...
Is there anything (OS extension, etc.) available now that could add this capability to OS10.4.10? TIA for any info.

Tnx for the feedback, Thomas, but what you are suggesting is imho a band-aid rather than a real solution. I normally have the dock on the right side of my screen, where it conflicts with scrollbars on or near that same area. True, moving the dock to the opposite side "fixes" that problem (so thanks!) but as I am right-handed, I'd really want to keep the dock there.
Sooo... Anyone know how to add dwell-time to the activation of the dock? Apple, are you listening... this would be a cool improvement, adding an innovation that is a real time-saver in FireFox tab handling.

Nice to have a Properties panel shortcut - (sidebar issues)

Great seeing all the interaction here between users and Adobe...
Just thinking it would be nice to have a preset keyboard shortcut for showing the properties panel;
I tried adding it to the sidebar, but when I open it and move it, it has to be re-attached again.
I reset Ctrl-P to do this, as I really don't use the Print command enough for a shortcut.

Just realized - the real issue is regarding the sidebar itself;
If you have panel icons docked there and open them - and then move them, their icons are removed from the sidebar.
Might be nice to leave those icons on the sidebar after the panels are opened and moved, so after closing the panels you don't have to manually re-add them there,
or at least make it so when you move the detached panel next to the sidebar, it re-attached the icon..?

1) how does one install jRuby? Where are the jars? I was hoping the JSR 223 integration would be here: http://java.net/projects/scripting/downloads but it's not. How come it's not distributed with the tool?
- we do not distribute scripting engines - they communicate with JRE not with Data Modeler - if you plug scripting engine into your Java then DM will recognize it and allow to be used
- you can download JRuby from http://jruby.org/download
- extract the archive and copy jruby.jar file to ext directory - "Java\jdk1.6.0_27\jre\lib\ext"
2) is it possible to attach custom triggers to tables? Is there a better way other than using Scripts -> After Create?It's not clear what you mean with "*custom* trigger" - you can create regular trigger in physical model - under table node you can find "triggers " node and you can use context menu to create trigger.
3) It would be nice if multiple classifications could be attached to tables, so the multiple classifications can be used by multiple scripts.. For example a table can be both a fact (generate some things..) and have audit columns (attach a trigger >to maintain them), etc.Your example doesn't clarify the need for more then one classification

EA6900 Update and Two Suggestions for Future Firmware "Nice to Haves"

Hey, first off, I've been a user of Linksys Routers for many years now, so I am familiar with the different settings and other selections that you generally see on the firmware pages. As to the EA6900, I am very, very PLEASED with how this router initially set up, along with the different pages in it's firmware. With the one exception noted below, the pages and the various settings "flow" very well. This baby is up and kickin and the house is literally dripping in both 2.4 and 5 GHz RF. The DHCP Reservation and MAC Wireless Filtering Tables worked without a hitch. The setup for FTP and NAS was simple! BTW, the setup for FTP shares is far easier than what we had to do using the EA3000 firmware. Kudos there! I am using the router associated with a server that is hosting about 25 different wired devices throughout the house, with a Cisco SG-200-08 Smart Switch behind the router for the LAN, which is load balancing on a Teamed (2 NIC'S) 2GB Adapter . The router grabbed Comcast's Native IPv6 and set that up flawlessly. OK:, So, Mr. Linksys Firmware Developer, whoever and wherever you are, I have two suggestions on the user GUI that would make everyone's life a little easier next time the firmware is updated:
1. Please make it so numbers, particularly MAC and IPv6 numbers, can be copied and then pasted to another place in the firmware. For example, in the Information tab of the Device Settings section, I should be able to copy MAC and IP numbers and then be able to paste them, say, in the DHCP Reservation Table. Other Linksys device firmware allowed for this.
2. For goodness sakes, PLEASE don't nest the Diagnostics tab under the Troubleshooting group. It drives me nuts to think that getting the router's status, to ping or traceroute, or to do a firmware backup would be found in "Troubleshooting". Suggest that all y'all just remove the Diagnostics tab to the far left side of the application and have that item as its own stand-alone group!
Then I will be most happy. As if it really matters, BUT I wanted to give all y'all my perspective from a user way down in the day-to-day weeds. A most happy Boy otherwise.

Little Features Like These Are Nice to Have

After having my iPod 5G for more than 2 weeks now, I have noticed two new small features that were not on my iPod 3G.
1) When you pull out your headphones/earbuds from the iPod, the music that is playing will automatically pause. Therefore, if you accidentaly pull out your headphones you will not miss the music you are listening to.
2) With the Universal Dock (Maybe other docks too), when you put the ipod in it, the volume on the iPod automatically goes back to what the volume was when it was last in the dock, and the same when you take the iPod out. This is nice because on my Ipod 3G I had to put the volume up when iut was connected to my stereo and in the morning when I unplugged the Ipod and started to listen to it with my earbuds, the volume would be way too loud. Now with the iPod 5G I do not have to worry about that.
Remember -- I said these were small features, but they are still neat right?

It's the little touches and attention to detail that make Apple's user interface design far better than anyone else's.

2.1 EA2 - Better support for Schema jumpers (nice to have)

If login as a user with DBA privileges, jumping to a another schema and let say rebuilding an index - this will give an error, due to the fact that SQL Dev does put the current schema in the SQL - example:
Login in as a user: UserWithDBA
Go to Other Users
Pick a schema - let's call it TEST
Try to rebuild index - SQL Dev generates this SQL:
alter index "Table_Idx" rebuild online
This won't work!
Should generate:
alter index "TEST"."Table_Idx" rebuild online
This can be found in various functions within SQL Developer

no idea about any of these things all i want to know is if it fixed the txt sound not working and what on earth is the 2 txt sounds mean?? im assuming if u dont look at ur txt it will sound again???, ive checked 3g its still sh1t here even tho im in a huge 3g area apparently but i didnt have many probs with last update so who knows

Help screen savers disappear do i need them will be nice to have the choice

I have a Mackbook pro witch has performed great I have it 4 years,Ijust notice that my Screen Savers are gone from my System Preferences ,if any one could explained the reason ?

Had the same problem, but have now upgraded to Foxtab 1.4.3 (which didn't offer itself via Add-ons Upgrade - had to upgrade manually).
Now works as before.
Think FF5 works better than FF4 for me - faster & ok now Foxtab issue gone.

Flash productivity features that would be nice to have...

I am sure these kind of questions were asked many times by users, but for some reason, these features are not available in Flash, although to me at least, it seems logical that they should be..
But, it is either to complicated to implement them, because of how the Library/Symbol features are implemented, and we just need to adjust and use Flash in the few ways it can be used.
Nevertheless, i would like to have the option to:
swap a single instance at once on multiple keyframes on the Timeline,
rename a single instance at once on multiple keyframes on the Timeline,
duplicate and rename multiple symbols in the Library at once,
annoying Spacebar behavior: you have to click on stage before the hand tool appears and then you can move the stage,
distribute to Symbols - as in, select multiple shapes, txt, images or whatever objects you have on Stage, and convert them all to symbols on-the-fly,
rename multiple instances at once on multiple keyframes on the Timeline,
these are only from the top of my head at the moment, i am sure people can add more of their own to the list...
If there are ways to achieve these, or at least some, i apologize and please do englighten me...

ok...I did the search as follows : in firefox 7.0.1. I go into 'tools, add-ons', search all add-ons by string 'bitcomet video'. The result : 'could not find any matching add-ons'.
Can you tell me how and where you are doing your search. This add-on is working fine in CometBird, this is not malware, spam ads, viruses, etc.

RAC, Interconnect and CloudControl (a nice to have problem :-) )

someone has changed the networkmask for one interconnect interface (eth3). eth3 is up an running, the interconnect ip-address move to the second interconnect interface here eth1. Everything is working fine, and after network is changed back the eth3 interface get his interconnect ip-address and all is fine. But there was no incident in CloudControl no warning that something is going wrong. A user defined metric on GV_$CLUSTER_INTERCONNECTS is no solution, the view shows old values. cluyfy is useful in this case.

Storage spaces + Hyper-V with multiple 1GBe nics for storage?

So I just got my private cloud hardware. I actually put in the order before summer, but due to firmware and certification issues on my desired SuperMicro JBODs delivery was seriously delayed. So much that I've completely forgotten my networking ideas. I
need help/verification. Or at least a URL - most described setups are 10 GBe nowadays... Or even a "not gonna work" :-)
My setup is supposed to be a 3 JBOD, 2 head node storage spaces/sfos cluster providing storage to a 4 node Hyper-V cluster. I didn't have a budget for a 10 GBe setup, but got a great price on a lot of 1 GBe nics. After allocating management, Hyper-V, etc
I have 3x 1 GBe ports left on all Hyper-V and Storage servers.
I think my original plan was to create three subnets and add one nic from each server. And then I guess I've imagined some kind of SMB3 magic discovering these paths between Hyper-V and storage and just aggregating bandwitdh and providing fault tolerance
by sprinkling fairy dust. Must have been the heat...
So now I'm "replanning" and I realize that I'm going to create a failover cluster at the storage level providing a cluster name and IP. I'm thinking the management subnet where domain info resides is appropriate, but then what about the other three
subnets? I don't want to flood my management subnet with storage traffic, but do want bandwidth and resilience. Did I make a design error, and how do I make the best of the situation?
Disclaimer: My previous experience on virtualization clusters is ISCSI SAN and 2008 R2 Hyper-V clusters. Storage Spaces is completely new to me :-)

i did not understand how many NICs you have in each Host. Hyper-V Cluster with 1 GBe NICs work as long as you know that it is not 10 GBe.
