"The greatest adventure in SAP is trying to solve problems on your own." You hit the nail on the head there. I started about a year ago with SAP NetWeaver during my student internship and found it so interesting that I wrote my master thesis too about it (concerned with NetWeaver I mean).
All the time, the forums, the help website and thanks to my company, my S-User ID helped me out tremendously. The solving problems on my own part was the one which has now got me really hooked on NetWeaver.
It's a shame to see how people can stoop to such idioticity (I hope that's a word ) in order to try and get a job about something they obviously know nothing about and obviously also don't WANT to know anything about...

Amazing, I can't find out what app on my phone just ran 388mb of data xfer at 2:44am yesterday while I'm sound asleep yet the LE types can subpoena and search warrant anything I do online and with who and for how long. Verizon list who I receive phone calls from and make calls to and from where I receive messages and to whom/where I text but can't tell me squat about something that is eating up band width. I'm sure it's probably some app that is running in the background on my phone. I've just got to figure out what it is and kill it. I want to drop (cause I don't use it, it's slower than a dial up 1200bps modem)my data plans and save about $50 a month.

Import test questions?

Hi everyone,
We have a situation coming up where we might need to create a test with 65 questions drawn from a pool of 1000 questions.
We obviously want to avoid having to enter 1000 question manually.
Is there a way to import a group of test questions, or are we going to have to hire a temp to do data entry for a week or so?

What's the best way to get user testing of our app (we're based in the UK)

Hi all.
We've just developed our first app for Palm and would really like to get some feedback from Palm users (our app allows users to take photos and send them as real printed postcards. We'd be very happy to give users free postcards in exchange for feedback).
The problem we have is that Palm users are pretty sparse in the UK. We've found that user testing with non-Palm users becomes handset testing rather than app testing. We have to teach them how to use Palm ("Where's the back button?") and so the testing mainly focuses on the particularities of Palm rather than our app. Plus, we don't benefit from the user being able to compare to other Palm apps.
Any advice on the best way to get feedback from Palm users? Especially as they'll need to download the SDK and install our app using it in order to get it onto their phones.

I would not use the MCSE title but you could certainly write replacement for MCSE or explain that you have the latest equivalent. Employees (particularly HR departments) are often behind on qualifiication changes. Kind Regards,

Any way to get reasonable auto-shift stabilization performance?

Hi all,
I'm trying to find a way to get much-better performance from a necessary, very basic, stabilization effect for a huge collection of archival video.
The context: 20k+ feet (500k frames?, ) of 8mm film that I'm capturing at HD resolution. Unfortunately there is a painful amount of per-frame "jitter" in the capture process. It should be easy to stabilize, as the sprocket hole is visible in every frame, so there's always a nice spot for a stabilizer to lock onto. All I need is the simple "shift and crop" level of stabilization.
My equipment: very fast brand new Win7 x64 Pro system, 32GB RAM, fast 12 core CPU, nVidia CUDA GTX 6xx series GPU.
The challenge: as others have found, Warp Stabilizer is AWFUL on performance during the first analysis phase. It appears to use no GPU at all and only one CPU (if that), working in the background. My machine is sitting there totally bored... which is more than a bit frustrating because a three minute clip requires 40 minutes to process through the first analysis phase!
What am I missing? Is Warp Stabilizer simply an incomplete feature? I remember using the basic SteadyMove/SteadiCam plugin that came with CS2 -- it worked reasonably well and was quite speedy even on my old computer. Have we really gone backward this far?
Any thoughts, suggestions, alternatives most welcome!

Been trying Warp there, and the AE plain single-point stabilizer. Incredibly UNstable -- ie AE crashes after about a minute no matter what I do. Hard to believe these have been tested very much. (But then, I used to get paid to break S/W... it's a gift )
The point stabilizer is soooo close. If it would not crash, and if I could add one more bounding box to limit the overall range of motion (when "sync" is lost), I'd be in fat city...

Is there any other way to get Adobe Captivate help?

Hi guys,
is there any other way to get Adobe Captivate specific help? I've posted a question twice with no help, it's very specific, so no one here might actually know the solution. I'm wondering though, since the chat is obviously not for Captivate users with product or service questions.
Is there a tech team I can somehow contact? We really need an answer to the problem.

We publish mp4 training videos as HTML5 content and have the problem that we need to restrict the player to only play/pause.
Adobe Captivate 7 works fantastic for us on almost all devices, many Androids, many browsers, and even on iPad. Captivate, after adding the video as a multi-slide video to one slide and publishing it as HTML5 content, only lets the student play and pause the video - just what we need.
But then we test it on iPhone and the iPhone's internal quicktime player recognizes the mp4 video and kicks in, gives the student all the functions they want, totally overrides the HTML5 published Captivate restricted playback options.
Is there ANY way we can get around that? Any function or box we haven't checked before publishing the HTML5 content?
We would even be happy, if the video wouldn't play on iPhone - just as long as they can't use it to fast forward to the end of the video.
Does anyone here know how to bypass the internal iPhone 5 player?

By the way, I have updated to the newest Captivate 7 version and am using iOS version 7.0.4.
Again, it's fine on iPad, but not on iPhone 5.

I'm trying to repack Firefox 3.6.3 into a MSI for a deployment install trough-out our organization. Since we're using Explorer as the default browser at the moment our users have all their bookmarks and such stored in Explorer. Now I'm wondering..
Is there a way of getting Firefox to automaticly import the Explorer settings upon install?
-Without having the wizard popup.
I also don't want Firefox to be the default browser since the users have to decide for them self. But atleast they have there bookmarks / defaultpage and proxy settings if they decide to go for Firefox.

I'm not sure if you have the capability, but did you try copying from your premiere sequence and then pasting into your after fx timeline? i was working with a MUCH shorter video with a mix of merged clips (interview footage) and video clips (b-roll). the video clips imported, but the merged clips did not. i put the timeline cursor to the right point in the after fx timeline, copied the premiere clip from the sequence, pasted it into after fx.

Hello. I have a problem with my music library. My computer hardrive crashed and i had lost all of my music and other information in iTunes. All i have left is the music on my iPod... But is there a way to get the music from off my iPod and back on my new music library? Plz help. Ty

There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), there's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.

Is there a way of getting album art on to itunes for CD's I already own?

If I buy an album from the music store, it gives me the artwork. However, if I'm just putting a CD onto Itunes, it will find all the track details but not the artwork. Not a big issue, but is there any way to get round this?

I use 'iTunes Art Importer' (Google it) - a nice little program that will search and import album art from Amazon automatically.
Just be aware that your MP3 file size will increase because the jpeg is embedded in it and the larger the jpeg, the larger the increase.
I think iTunes Art Importer selects suitably small thumbnails.

Apart from using a DNS Service, is there a way of getting an Xserve to notify an administrator of a change of external IP address?

Is there a way to get the coherence reporter to record the interval?

There are three questions, really - but the first is the most important.
1. Can you get the reporter to record the duration since the last batch in seconds (or ms) in the same row as the current batch?
2. Can you get the reporter to record the timestamp in the report rows as ms since epoch (preferrably alongside the regular date in a different column, but by itself it'd probably be ok)
3. Is there any way to hook into the reporter output to customize how it records the actual data?
The jmx reporter records the batch number and the date of the batch run, but I don't see an easy way to get it to record the current date as a MS timestamp.
I've thought about creating a simple custom MBean that existed to do nothing but expose the current time in ms since epoch as an attribute that I could then have the reporter use and include a column both for the absolute date and for the relative date. Having certain metrics reported in terms of # of events / second would make it easier to analyze certain data (for instance, instead of showing the total ReadTimeMillis if it would show ReadTimeMillis / Reads / # ms * 60 to get the average time for a read, that would be a lot more useful for comparing intervals)
The intervals are never run on exactly the same schedule because the timer starts after the last report runs and the duration of running all the reports is not uniform.
(It'd also be very nice if the outputting of the reports were configurable and there was a way to plug into the reporting engine to hook in a different output method - e.g. to a database or to send the data over UDP to a graphite server or something)

When I record the keyboard sounds as a midi track in Logic
I loose my sounds when I bounce to disc. Why do the sounds

Think about it for a minute.... for one, MIDI is not audio, it's only data, you are not recording sound into the computer, the audio for the XP50 is coming out of the keyboard's audio outs. Software instruments take MIDI data and output directly to audio, so... they bounce fine as their output is audio. Your XP50 keyboard's audio outs are on the keyboard. So, you will have to record the audio from the keyboards output. I notice you're using Logic Express, unfortunately it doesn't have the I/O plugin.

Is there any way to get a video clip to snap to a beat marker?

I have tried everything and cannot get this to work. The video clip snaps ONLY to the timeline and ignores the beat marker. It doesn't make any difference if "Snap" is on or off.
When "Snap" is on and I attempt to move the video clip to snap to the beat marker, I see a red line indicating the edge of the beat marker, but there is no way to get the clip to snap to it.
This to me is a bug and I hope this can be fixed soon because there is no way to truly synchronize your video to the beats of your audio track. Those of you who think your video is "beat" synced to your audio, please look very closely at the precise location of your video in relation to your wave forms.
Another way of putting this whole thing is that there is no way to position the start or endpoint of any video or audio track in-between any frames. The start and endpoints will always coincide with a frame. It would be real nice to be able to nudge a track left or right so that it's start or endpoint lie in-between a frame.

I keep getting people telling me how it is possible to position the starting or end point of a clip in-between a frame. With all due respect I don't think these individuals really understand the relationship of the clip and the frame. At least that is my understanding.
So I assume that the following is true:
If you want to sync a video clip to an audio peak that lies in-between a frame, the only possible way that his can be done is to edit the audio so the audio peak falls precisely on a frame. This is because you can only place begin and start points of a clip directly on a frame and not in-between.
Does this sound correct?
