Niether PSE 10 nor PSE 11 displays in Windows 8...

I ran PSE10 fine for some time on this machine and then I left it running and machine went to sleep / hybernate / off. Ever since PSE 10 will start but then wont display. I checked task manager and it shows it running in backround. I tried PSE 11 and it ran fine once then same issue. wont display and runs in backround. I've uninstalled, de-activated then re-installed each and cant get it to display, runs in backround. I've been through the compatability troubleshooter multiple times and got the organizer to display but then when I want to use editor, the editor is shown in some ridculously low resolution - useless. Also PSE 10 and 11 are now always prompting for permission to change files on computer. I have gone so far as to do a System Restore back to a date when PSE 10 ran just fine. Please help!!

Please note that I created a seperate short cut for the Editor and the organizer on the desktop. I launch the editor as "run as Administrator" and it runs and displays properly. The organizer still will launch but not display and runs in the backround. I can launh the organizer from the editor and then the organizer displays correctly. It's backwards but it allows me to get back to what I love. Still would like to resolve whatever is preventing me from starting with the organizer.

AFter updating to iTunes 11, my first generation Apple TV no longer automatically syncs when I open iTtunes nor does it display its playlists in iTunes.

It still has its photos and play lists and it is linked up for streaming but does not sync as it used to do. Yes, the first generation model still works with iTunes 11. It sounds as though you have set it up as a streaming only library.
Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can sync it back afterwards, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.

uninstall pse 10 (properly using the adobe uninstaller).
clean - Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
then try reinstalling using the adobe installation file(s).
if you see an activation count error while trying to reinstall contact adobe support, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
and ask for an activation count reset.

Reinstall PSE 8 catalog on windows 7

I needed to buy a new Windows 7 based laptop and successfully reinstalled PSE 8 on it. I have also successfully duplicated all applications and tranfered the data across to my new laptop incuding the pictures which formed the basis of my PSE 8 catalog. Already saved on an external hard drive are copies of my photos with caption embedded using PSE 8.
How do I load my photos including captions into the PSE 8 application on my new laptop?

Sorry for my delay in communicating and yes my reinstall of PSE 8 catalog on Windows 7 appears to be successful. I am currently ‘Getting my photos from File’ and both the photos (.jpg) and captions are successfully loading into my catalog which I am storing into their original albums.

Connecting the iPad to the internet via the iPhone is done by setting up a personal HotSpot, but you have to have that supported by your carrier and have to have established the account to do so.
On the iPhone, Settings > General > Network > Set Up Personal Hotspot

if that's really pse 2, it may be incompatible with your os. you could try installing using compatibility mode but i don't know if there's an os old enough offered.
win xp might work, but that would be pre-sp 3 release.

Migrating from PSE 5.0 on Windows XP to PSE 8.0 on Windows 7

I am running PSE 5.0 on Windows XP on my old computer. Half of my images (about 55GB--or about 15,000 images) are on the C drive under My Pictures (lots of folders under there). The other half are on an external USB drive which I will be moving to my new computer.   Can I just follow the full backup and restore suggestion for the earlier question today? I understand about renaming the external drive and giving it the same drive letter but obviously the full path name for the images currently on the C drive will be different. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I strongly recommend first upgrading to PSE 8 on the old computer, and then moving your catalog and photos to the new computer. That will make troubleshooting much easier -- given that you're changing computers, version of Windows, and version of PSE, it's very possible you'll run into problems. It's likely that PSE 8 will run fast enough on your old computer to do the upgrade (it will probably be sluggish).
Then, once you've upgraded to PSE 8, you have two options for moving your catalog and photos:
1. Use the backup/restore method:

You'll need to restore all of your photos on the external drive or on the C drive -- you can't split them. But this method is usually the most straightforward method to use, especially for people who aren't experienced Windows administrators.   After you do the restore, you could use PSE to rearrange the locations of your photos:

2. Copy the catalog folder from the old computer to the new (do Help > System Info in the Organizer to find the location).   Copy the picture folders on the C drive from the old to the new. Plug in the external drive to the new computer. PSE 8 will correctly find your photos on the external drive even if the drive letter is different (because it uses the drive's volume serial number). But because you're moving from XP to Windows 7, the paths of the folders on the C drive are likely going to be different, and if they are, you'll have to do File > Reconnect > All Missing to reconnect your catalog with the new location of the drive C photos. The Reconnect command can take some patience and very careful reading to use:

Safari 4.0.3 Starts but won't display any windows properly

Since accepting the update to Safari 4.0.3 this morning, Safari starts but will not display any windows, just the main application menu bar.
Trying new window has no effect and launching a history item either has no effect or safari crashes complaining that the crash could have had something to do with
libcooliris.dylib
I therefore removed /Library/InputManagers/Cooliris but this made no difference.
History flow displays but won't launch any windows and strangely Menu>History>Home opens a window but there are no tabs nor URL nor search bar, but there is only the history bar. The window is all grey including where the page should be.
Trying to open other history items in this window changes the title, but no page contents are displayed.
I also tried reinstalling 4.0.3. from the Apple website, but this made no difference.
Have you any idea what I could try next?

Air Display for Windows 7 not working

I recently installed Air Display v1.6.1 for my iPad 2 and Air Display for Windows.
Both my laptop and iPad are connected to the same WiFi.
Whenever I click on my iPad's name in Air Display on my laptop, nothing happens. My iPad's screen still stays on the Air Display instruction screen with no flashing of the screen as I see on YouTube videos. Any help would be appreciated .

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

I understand you cannot daisy chain thunderbolt displays in Windows 7 to have dual monitors? Is there another way to run Dual monitors? I have a mid 2012 Macbook pro with on Thunderbolt display. I see the Retina Macbook has two thunderbolt ports. If I got one of those, could use dual Thunderbolt displays then in Windows 7, and then just hook each monitor up to it's own Thunderbolt port instead of daisy chaining?

No, you still cannot drive 2 Thunderbolt Displays in Windows with the MBP Retina.
However, you can use 1 Thunderbolt display (for USB hub and LAN connection), and then use 1 Cinema display as the 2nd screen. You can chain the USB ports, but not the displays, so you do have 1 extra connection to the MBP, but that's fine.
Windows 7 will drive this setup without problems.

ACD as main display under Windows/BootCamp while in clamshell possible?

Is there any way to run a BootCamp Windows XP Pro installation on an MBP using the ACD as main display while in clamshell mode? Currently the system refuses to wake up after I close the lid. I use a BT mouse/KB, but even with a USB mouse connected it wouldn't wake up. It seems like it would be possible, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

Correct, there was no Gather Windows button.
I do have multiple adapters, but one is an Apple adapter which is, apparently, "passive" whilst the other is active. The passive adapter never works at all under MacOS X, but I haven't tried it under Windows. The "active" adapter works under Windows, but only shows the apple bootup logo under MacOS X, and then turns the display off.
I don't think that the mini displayport is faulty, because the second display plugged into it works perfectly through BootCamp.
I'll try thoroughly testing out all adapters tonight, and then try a different brand of display. I've seen a lot of posts about ViewSonics being flakey under MacOS X, so it's possible it could be on the display driver side of things. Maybe ViewSonic does something screwy signal-wise in their displays, and Windows is willing to deal with it but MacOS X isn't.
Oddly enough, the ViewSonic display I have was shipped with a single-link DVI cable, and it's always worked without a problem, even when plugged into the dual-link DVI port on the Mac Pro. So I don't believe that the display *itself* requires a complete dual-link connection to the computer.
