Nightly Builds - White Blocks Over Components?

Hello,
Working on a flex 4 project, have been using the latest milestone release (4.0.0.10485) — though need to implement drag drop in List components (which isnt supported in this release) Have just tried using some of the nightly builds and all my components render with big white blocks over them. Anyone seen this behaviour? Ideas on what might be causing it?

I know you can download SDK nightly builds here:

Internet browser problems (white block at bottom of screen)

Hi,
Recently I have been unable to properly use the internet on my BlackBerry Curve. Over a quarter of the screen at the bottom when I go on the internet is white so I can't scroll down so it's unusable. I've noticed although it is accessing the internet the little blue loading to the intenet bar when a page is loading is no longer showing at the top of the screen too. If I search for something like a restaurant or something on Google for example, the first restaurant will show in the list but because of the white block and no scroll down bar I can't look at anything else. It's very weird. Can anyone advise me as to what might be happening, I'd really appreciate it.

SecurityError #2148 in nightly builds

Hello all,
I have little doubt that I've done something daft here, or completely missed a piece of documentation somewhere pertaining to using nightly builds, but I'm getting a security error when I try to build my Gumbo application with a nightly build (any of them). Compiling exactly the same application using the Flex SDK 4 beta 2 works no problem, but as soon as I switch to building with a nightly (4.0.0.13301 at the time of writing is the latest) I get:

I've seen mentioned in places while looking for an answer, that adding "-use-network=false" as a compiler option helps, and it does make a difference. I get a message saying my application is trying to communicate with fpdownload.adobe.com. Clicking okay results in the same blank Flash player window as before.

Thanks very much for pointing that out. I have done so now, and certainly seem to get further thought the process of actually running the application in Flash player, but am now hitting a different problem. In the Flash Player debug log I get:

I part of this message appearing in the Flash Player window as well, and it is not displaying any of the application (just a stalled loading bar).
What is the textLayout swf file? It doesn't appear to be in the Flex nightly download, although there is a 'textLayout' file (not sure it is even relevant...)

What is changing in the nightly builds?

I've seen a lot of new commits go through svn with commit monitor. But when I download the nightly builds and do a file compare there are few files that are actually changing. I'm stuck on a couple of bugs that I think I've seen the fix be comitted, but it's not the nightly builds.
Are the beta changes being included in the nightly builds? (I thought I read a post somewhere that said the trunk would contain all of the beta changes.) Even if the changes are being committed to the trunk and not the beta branch they aren't showing up in the nightly builds.
I am just missing something?

Line of White blocks in screen (iPhone 5)

Since a few weeks my iPhone 5 is showing a line of White 'blocks' on the top edge of the screen (over status bar). The effect sometimes disappears after the phone has been in standby, only to re-appear after using an App.
I have tried:
- complete switch off/re-boot
- complete erase of the phone to factory settings
In the latter case, the effect returned after synchronizing with iTunes.
Any ideas on how to get rid of this? It seems logical to assume that a specific App might be the cause, but I have no idea which one. I suspected Emoji, but erasing it didn't solve the problem. iTunes does not show the app anymore, so I am assuming that it has been erased properly.

I had the same problem, especially when I was opening the calculator from the control centre. I had a lot of apps grouped based on category. I fixed the problem resetting the main screen, all the apps were ungrouped and since then I’m not having that white block on the screen.

Why are white blocks appearing in my animation?

When my animations loads (by clicking the packaging icon), a white block appears in the middle and I would like to know if there
is a way that I could change it so it is either transparent or not have the white appear?

Camera raw image opens with white blocked-out area on photo

I have never seen or heard of this before but 2 of the 100+ images I have opened, in bridge AND in PS, both open with a white blocked-out area covering most of the image, like it had trouble loading. It did not take long or seem different from any other image I opened. And the part of the photo I CAN see looks to be great quality!?

I transferrd almost 200 images from the camera card to my laptop...put the card in the computer and transferred that way. All but 2 images are just fine. Every image was treated the same. I use Photoshop cs5...Here is the image (I put the gray block over her face, I am talking about the white area..) this is how PS opened it from bridge.

HDR PRO in tool image has a large white block through it and buttons are unresponsive. How do I fix this?

When I open images in HDR Pro I am met with a washed out image with a big white block through the middle about a third of the size of the image.
This disappears when I export the image, which would be fine, but the buttons and sliders are not working in the app.
This means The tool is useless. Any fixes?

The symptoms you describe sound like there is an application-modal popup message box covering over the main HDR tool area but for some reason the message box is not fully rendered and you can only see the background, not the message it contains.
This could be a transient condition that would be remedied by rebooting, or it could be a video-driver incompatibility that might be resolved by updating your video drivers from the manufacturer’s website, or perhaps changing the Graphics Processor Settings in the Performance tab of Photoshop Preferences. You can uncheck Use Graphics Processor and restart Photoshop and see if things are different. If so, then turn it back on, but adjust the level of acceleration in the Advance Settings from Advanced to Basic or in between and also turn on and off the other settings in Advanced Settings area to see which ones make a difference.
If none of these grpahics system changes make any different, perhaps change the amount of memory that is being used in the PS / Prefs / Performance area, adjust it both more and less from what it is currently set to.

Why are there white blocks on my website?

I have been creating a site for an aviation thing, and after I got the site ready and uploaded onto the hosting, white blocks are near the slices. Any ideas? In dreamweaver, it shows up perfectly fine.

Your link takes me to a BC login page, but from your post it's likely that you have committed the first deadly sin of web development: using a graphics application to create your HTML. Your symptoms perfectly match what is expected to happen when you take a cumbersome table layout that is only intended for use in controlled demonstrations or presentations, and try to use it on the web. What is happening is that your table with its many colspans and rowspans (merged and split cells) is not able to respond properly to different browsers and different viewport widths and different character face sizes. One should use graphic apps to make graphics, and use DW to build your HTML. Here are some informative and interesting articles about this -

White blocks across the top of screen

My Iphone5 has a series of white blocks spaced uniformly across the top of the screen. When the phone is first turned on the blocks are not there. After a short time they appear and become denser. The phone functions perfectly, however.

Shiner, I had very strange things happen in a 6.0.3 project which I thought was due to the upgrade. Every title was rendered over a black background and an exported QT movie was rendered with an 'emboss' effect even though I had not set these options.
I moved the preferences (plist in user/libray/preferences) for iMovie to the desktop, still had the problems with the existing project but not new projects.
I redid the project from scratch with the 'clean' prefernces and it no longer had the strange behavior.

Flash in the latest nightly build is not working and causing crashes. Help?

I'm using an Asus Transformer tf101. I updated Nightly today and now flash does not work in the program. Once I attempt to play any flash video, the program crashes and it crashes one or two more times after that before I can use it again. I disabled all my plugins and cold booted but to no avail.
Another issue I am having is that it sometimes freezes on the home screen on startup. This instance usually happens after I try to type an address or use a bookmark. The only way I found around it was to tap one of the three top site icons first. Does anyone have a solution to this?
edit: I have reverted back to the previous build for now. It isn't as nice as the latest version's style but it plays flash video better than the other mobile browsers out there. Controls like pausing, skipping ahead or putting video to full screen are still hit or miss though.

Iphoto 9.5.1 displays only raw photos correctly. If I correct redeye or touch up a photo I get white boxes over the eyes(if correcting redeye) or the thumbnail and photo turns mostly white. Note: I have an NVIDIA card.

Do you remember the days when Apple wrote robust code ? The latest updates have not been great.
Maybe the programers are outsourced to a foriegn country now or Noobs out of school ?
It looks like someone isn't paying attention to the editing layer... I write code. and when you edit an image you store the update in another layer. The method enables you to easily undo edits.   I "upgraded" to 10.9.1 and was forced to update iPhoto.    After I uploaded photos from my camera I noticed redeye reduction results in just white squares over the eyes. I also noticed issues if I attempt any photo edit funcition in iPhoto.
This means to me that iPhoto 's editor is saving video from the wrong memory location.
I have a NVIDIA card because I write CUDA applications on my Mac. An NVIDIA card enables me to write CUDA and OpenCL apps.

As you can see Mavericks may have made some improvements but overall it does not get the job done as it used to.
I am willing to bet that your graphics code has devolved into ATI centric code.
I booted into macos 7.5.1 and the issue with the same hardware older operating system and apps works fine.    I just wish I never deleted my 10.6.8 install. 10.6.8 was the most stable on the MacPro.   Everything worked.     From 10.7 up I've noticed a decline in dependability.
Can you please fix this or design a work around ?    Switching over to an ATI graphics card is NOT a good answer.
Also I noticed Cinebench R15 benchmarks are higher in 7.5.1 verses 10.9.1

Where in that other topic is the manufacturer of the graphic card or even a graphic card mentioned.? You may have known what kind of card you had but we're not mind readers.
Since it appears to be a incompatibility between that particular card, Mavericks and iPhoto you should keep telling Apple about it by contacting them via

The white line over the text in a title

how can I enlarge the white line over the text in a title to not have the text out of the frame when I want to add another line?

If you are speaking of the white bar upon which you are entering text in say a 'gradient edge' title, click title in the inspector window having the title selected. There you can change the width of the horizontal bar:
In the screenshot above I have used gradient edge title. The bar is of black color and you can change the color to white or any other color by tinkering with the controls in the inspector window [red oval]; you can also increase or decrease with the bar's width by changing its parameters within the 'yellow rectangle'; and, if you so need, you can push up or push down the bar by manipulating the bar vertical position tool located below the yellow rectangle.

What's the deal with large white blocks in exported jpegs

I just exported my first job I ran through Aperture. Out of 736 files, 9 were flawed. When opened, the exported jpeg had a missing section of the photo, that was all white. The white block appeared in random spots but always on the edges. The problem didn't occur the second time around with the same 9 files/ this time processed in a batch of 9.
I need to know how to export files reliably - in my workflow, I don't have time to double check file quality.
Has anyone seen this issue? I've seen it with 1.1.1 and 1.1.2.
I'm shooting with a 1ds mrkII.

i've seen this too, in other odd ways. it seems to affect the images that i've spotted (with the patch tool) and have other corrections/adjustment applied. its almost like the GPU gets too overloaded to accurately recreate all of the image mods. the image seems to be segmented into smaller rectangular sections that probably get loaded into the video card's memeory and the adjustments and corrections are applied on smaller, more managable sections. when the image is stitched back together something goes horribly wrong!
the sections tend to be mis-matched with some completely black, some that have black spots where the patch tool was applied, other sections have what looks like a white overlay that's 50% opaque. sometimes even my thumbnails come up with the same results as these malformed exports. i've been able to shake them back to normalcy by toggling one of the corrections (spot/patch, highligh/shadow, etc). after the thumbnail updates properly, the export usually works fine.
this is definitely a bug with aperture and i would report it as such. attach and send the image to the bug report if you can!
