Nightmare on BT Street ! (Router woes)

Afternoon my fellow BT pain enthusiasts ;-)
The first thing to say is ringing BT is like a Fisher Price my first broadband...
Quick question if I may please, my parents are using a BT Home 2.0, and it often drops the broadband connection (Flashing Orange light) and re connects this occurs several times a day. So I bought them a Netgear DG834v5 and connected this no problem. However to my dismay within the first hour of it being in use it disconnected from the line about 10 times, and continually did so during my sunday lunch ! So rather than leave them with this, I connected back the BT hub 2.0 and this did the same continually dropping the line and re connecting every few mins. (doing less so now)
I note this statement from the BT hub firmware during this process...
After you've installed your Hub, it can take up to 24 hours to establish the fastest, most reliable service available on your line. During this time, the Broadband light flashes orange between periods of steady blue. Please wait until it glows a steady blue. This can take up to 24 hours.
I am assuming this is just bad to stop people phoning them for new installs etc, I never in all my years of broadband use (never been a BT customer myself mind) come across this being a requirement for new h/w being installed on a broadband line? So I presume this is why the netgear was doing the same?
Is this geniune or do my folks have a problem with their line?
Some info....

Hi Colin.
As others have said, it takes time for the system to recognise line conditions etc, and it's done over a period of days to find a stable connection. This is at the start of the service. Not sure why you are saying it's to stop people "phoning for new installs", that frankly makes no sense and is irrelevant.
How long have they had BT Broadband ?
The problem to me looks like serious line condition problems, the FEC errors are astronomical !
The netgear was doing the same due to the same poor line conditions.

  • Street route maintanance in third party system

    Dear All,
I have mapped street route in SAP by using Tcode EL40, But I want the orders to be downloaded in thrid party system in the same order in the way the street route has been maintaned. I am downloading the orders using getlist bapi for meter reading orders. But it is downloading in the ascending order of the meter reading document number and not in the order of the street route. Is there any other BAPI to get the meter reading order in the street route order
Kindly let me know how to do this
    With regards
    Balaji.J

    Hello,
Please see the Enhancement EDMLSORT this may help your issue:
Enhancement EXIT_SAPLEL33_001 enables you to to change the sequence of
meter reading orders on the print document or in the download file.
The function module is called when meter reading orders are printed or
downloaded. Input parameters provide the function module with a table of
meter reading orders. There is one order for every register to be read.
If you want to sort by city, street and house number, you have to
provide the appropriate objects and write them to an internal table
along with the meter reading orders. You then have to resort the
internal table, transfer the sort sequence to the output table and set
    the relevant output parameter.
You can implement the coding for this function module in include
    ZXEL1U01.
    I hope this helps.

  • Adobe Reader XI update Nightmare on Elm Street!

I got notification to update Adobe Reader XI and it took me a little bit to get around to it, but as soon as I did it was like my computer took a walk down Nightmare on Elm Street!
It caused my computer to keep freezing up. Either wouldn't allow me to connect to the internet or kept me logged on at different times. Even, at one point, logged on without my permission!
I don't know what in the world you all did with that junk software but it took me three tries to get it uninstalled from my computer.
So now I'm back on AR10. Imagine no surprise at all when it stopped all of my glitches!!!
I realize there are a lot of operating systems out there and a bunch of system junk that has to work together but whatever was in that update, NO THANK YOU!
I wasted almost an entire day messing with this stupid garbage just trying to get it to uninstall!
    Stop messing up our computers!

There are a lot of spammers who send fake update notifications to get you to install malware along with Adobe Reader (or instead). Perhaps, just perhaps, you got one of those.
If the notification was in email it was certainly a scam.

  • Activate ELWEG_LOG in Street Route

    Hello,
Does anyone know how to activate the module function ISU_DB_ELWEG_LOG_UPDATE in order to save changes from the street route in table ELWEG_LOG?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Table ELWEG_LOG gets updated, when street route is maintained using IDoc type ISU_EL40 and message type ISU_4K.
Alternatively, if street route is maintained by program using function modules -ISU_O_STREET_ROUTE_OPEN, ISU_O_STREET_ROUTE_ACTION and ISU_O_STREET_ROUTE_CLOSE then this table gets updated.
However, this table does not gets updated, when street route is maintained directly from transaction EL40.

  • Router Woes

I currently am using a D-Link DI-524 that can no longer emit a Wireless Signal 3 yards or more. After some researching, I purchased a LinkSYS WRT54GL. Upon trying to install the new router (the linksys), all lights light up as it should, but nothing can connect to the internet. My computer gives me Page not found in Firefox (via ethernet cable), my IPhone states that Safari is not connected to the Internet, and my PSP tells me that an Internet Test failed. The setup is identical to my last one, yet I can't get the router to work. I set up my old one, for the time being, and it works, as I am able to visit and post here. Any suggestions?

Possibly the router needs reconfiguration .....
So reset it for 2-3 minutes ..... & reconfigure it ....

  • Wireless B router woes after firmware upgrade

I downloaded and installed the firmware upgrade for my wireless B ver.4 router and now it's not transmitting a wireless signal. Computers plugged into the wireless router get internet connection, but it doesn't seem that the the router is broadcasting wireless. I tried to go to my routers set-up by using the default router IP...but it won't connect...any thoughts?

Since you have upgraded the firmware on your Router, You need to Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Routing Engine or SDM

Hi I am beginning to investigate Spatial for use in generating street routing geometry and instructions.
It appears there are two ways of going about this: Routing Engine (Java-XML) or the Spatial Data Model (SDM).
If one wants instructions the Routing Engine is the way to go. But there does not appear to be anyway to restrict turns (I gather this from the description of the EDGE.DIVIDER field in the doc). The SDM model lacks instructions, but a past post indicates that restricting turns can be accomplished via adding an additional field to the LINK table (eg, a varray of restricted NODE id's).
Is there a way I can get both driving instructions and turn restrictions? I assume the solution would need to come via editing around the SDM model to add instructions.
    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
    Glen

    David,
Here is a description of how a road is classified as a highway:
Roads come in 5 functional classes 1 through 5. We use functional class to decide two things in
the Router, 1) is the edge part of a highway and need to be in the highway partition and 2) what is the
    speed classification for the edge.
We use the speed classification along with the edges length to
compute how long it should take to traverse the edge.
Function class 1 and 2 are considered highway
edges and are placed in the highway partition, the other functional classes are not.
Functional class 1 roads have consistent, typically fast speeds with limited access.
Functional class 2 roads also have consistent speeds and are used to get traffic to and from
    functional class 1 roads.
Functional class 3 roads are also high volume edges used to connect functional class 2 roads.
Functional class 4 roads move volumes of traffic from neighborhood to neighborhood. Think,
busy main road in a city.
Functional class 5 roads are all other roads not accounted for above.

  • Getting a blank white index page in browser

I have been working the tutorial on Creating your First Web Site by David Powers (Dreamwiver CC) that has worked flawless up to the end, where I tried adding the scripting code for older IE browsers. I downloaded the JS file aFarkas-html5shiv-67bff28, and tried locating the src folder with the Insert/Scripts menu option but for some reason the folder was not in the project root where I put it. This is where I lost the index page that returns a blank page when I open it in a browser, or try and view the page within the designer. The html has no errors that I can see, and I have tried loading the page directly form the root folder with no Joy.
Could someone help me figure out why a project that was working fine suddenly started displaying a blank index page?

  • Hard drive crash: Repurchasing Music?

Hey guys, im new here, but over the summer I had a major hard drve issue and lost nearly 1 TB of files, pictures, video, AND MUSIC. And now, I can see the soundtracks I bought in iTunes, but since the downloadedalbums are gone, i can't listen to them and the files are gone, and I didn't know if there was any way of repurchasing these albums for free, because I know once you purchase an app on the iPhone even if you delete it you can redownload it for free, I didn't know if the same concept would apply for music, because as much as I love the stuff that i bought, I'd rather not pay twice for everything when im only getting it once technically, if it helps, i know for SURE that i bought these albums:
The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Deluxe Soundtrack) - Various Artists [ALBUM]
The Time Spent Wondering - Man on Earth [SINGLE TRACK: "It Feels Like..."]
Neon Bible - Arcade Fire [SINGLE TRACK: "Keep the Car Running"]
Funeral - Arcade Fire [SINGLE TRACK: "Wake Up"] (I've actually bought this AGAIN for my iPhone)
The String Quartet Tribute to Arcade Fire's Funeral - Vitamin String Quartet [TWO TRACKS: "Wake Up" & "Crown of Love"]
Let It Die-EP - Foo Fighters [SINGLE TRACK: "Keep The Car Running (BBC Radio 1's Six Weeks of Summer)
The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford - Nick Cave & Warren Ellis [ALBUM]
The Office Theme - Michael Scott Fan Club [SINGLE TRACK: "The Office Theme"]
Movie Hits - Starlite Orchestra [SINGLE TRACK: "The Office (Main Theme)"]
A Nightmare On Elm Street - Steve Jablonksy [ALBUM]
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - John Williams [ALBUM]
The Simpsons Movie-The Music - Hans Zimmer [ALBUM]
    Up - Michael Giacchino [ALBUM]
THE VERY BEST of the FANTASY MOVIES - L'Orchestra Cinematique [SINGLE TRACK: "Master of Shadows (2012)"]
So yeah....as you can see i'd much prefer to not have to pay to get ALL of these back again, if I need to track down my reciept numbers or anything I can if thats what I need to do, if anyone can help with this matter please let me know

Click here and ask. You're supposed to back them up.
once you purchase an app on the iPhone even if you delete it you can redownload it for free
Apple doesn't pay royalties on apps. They do on music downloads.

  • How to create the effect of a face pushing through a wall?

    Hi,
I'm trying to make a face look like it's pushing through a wall, a bit like in A Nightmare on Elm Street:
Not having much luck though, and can't find anything n the internet. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Lloyd

Several different ways to do this.  You could stretch a sheet of plastic and have someone press their face into it.  Doing it in photoshop. you can take and face and then create a displacement map to bend the shape of the wall then appling the image as a B&W in overlay mode to give the shaped tones to the wall. Such as the image below of the face on the path.  The other option would be to get a 3D face like those in Poser, bring it into PS and convert it to a depthmap and then blend the depthmap with plain backgroud by blurring the edges, such as the other image attached of the face coming out of the building.

    Hi all,
I have to use the function modules 'ISU_O_STREET_ROUTE_OPEN' and 'ISU_O_STREET_ROUTE_CHANGE' to update the street route sequence.
Can anybody give me the example of how to use these function modules.
I will apprciate if you give me detail explanation with example of these FMs. I am unable to find the details about these FMs.

You can create for the street a cleaning object and for each customer from the street must be created an subordinated cleaning object in this way you will be able to create waste disposal orders for the street , and for all the cleaning objects (streets) in the service frecvency you can alocate the same route.
About you first questions I will be also happy to find an appropriate solution, but I will try, I'm new in this industry.
    Best, Regards Stelian

  • Hero article not visible

    Okay, I have another issue.
I'm using CC2014 and this Tutorial...
How to make and style a web page in Dreamweaver | Adobe Dreamweaver CC tutorials
...is based on a previous version, so some things aren't where they're supposed to be.  I fixed my footer tag issue, completed the tutorial, then went on to the bonus section.
I got the hero article placed, but the relative position in my page is way off from what it is in the tutorial. In order to get it to display in that area, I have to set the position at -368pixels. I think in the tutorial, it's at 17.
Then, when I get it positioned correctly (?), it only appears on the screen in Live View. Meaning, when I view the page in a browser, the hero article disappears (screen caps below).
    What's up with that?  :-)
    Now you see it...
    Now you don't.

If you used e-mail to post this code, it was badly munged in translation.  Best to post code directly into the web forum not with e-mail.  However, if that really is your code you're in big trouble.
    Try this:

<p>San Francisco is one of the most exciting and vibrant cities  on the planet. Bayside Beat is here to keep you informed of the best places to  see, where to eat, what to do, and where to lay down your weary head after an  action-packed day—or night—on the town.</p>

    <h2>Riding the Cable Cars</h2>
<p>No visit to San Francisco is complete without a ride on the  iconic cable cars that climb up the vertiginous hills of the city. Of the  twenty-three lines established between 1873 and 1890, three remain: two routes  from downtown near Union Square to <a href="http://www.fishermanswharf.org/">Fisherman's Wharf</a>, and a third route along  California Street.</p>
<p>The cable cars rely on cables running constantly beneath the  road&rsquo;s surface. The driver—or gripman—uses a lever to grip the cable to pull  the car and its passengers up the hill. The gripman requires not only great  strength, but also great skill. He needs to know where to release the cable to  coast over crossing cables and points. The conductor works in close cooperation  with the gripman, operating the brake at the rear of the car to prevent it from  running out of control on the downward slopes.</p>

<p>Although the cable cars are now mainly a tourist attraction,  they&rsquo;re still used by local commuters to get to and from work. The California  Street line is particularly popular among commuters on weekdays.</p>

    <h2>Cable Car Tips</h2>
<p>A single ride on a cable car costs $6. If you plan to travel  around the city, it&rsquo;s often cheaper to buy a <a href="http://www.sfmta.com/cms/mfares/passports.htm">Muni Passport</a>, which gives you  unlimited rides on San Francisco&rsquo;s extensive public transport system, including  the cable cars (but not the <a href="http://www.bart.gov/">BART subway system</a>). Even a single-day passport  ($14) will save you money if you make a return trip, and stop off to visit  Chinatown one way.</p>
<p>There are often long lines at the cable car terminus,  particularly on the Powell-Mason and Powell-Hyde routes. If you don&rsquo;t want to  wait, try walking a few stops along the route. The conductor usually leaves a  small number of places to pick up passengers on the way. The California Street  route is generally less crowded (but not as spectacular).</p>
