Nightmare Reinstall with Every Destop App Update?

I've had it.  Ever since the very first time I downloaded the Creative Cloud desktop app for Windows (8), it literally "disappears" every time it comes time to update it.  It used to be that I'd get the install failed message.  I'd go through the long process of calling tech support who every time told me to delete folders and rename files.  Then, a couple updates back they said they solved this problem, but they didn't.  In fact, they made things worse.
I first noticed it when I opened a document where I had inserted fonts from Type Kit.  It told me the fonts were missing.  I was like, wt?.  So I went to the CC app, and it wasn't in the tray.  So I started it up.  The first time, the screen never fully built.  So I closed it and started again.  It opened this time and told me there was an update which introduced the marketplace.  I hit install, it downloaded the update and then.... wait for it... it *completely* disappeared again.  I'm talking no program files, no update files, nothing.  Anywhere.  I had to go online and download the app all over again (that was after a half hour of trying to figure out what to do).  After the download and install, it automatically started up and started working, but by then it was too late.  I had spent an hour and a half dealing with the desktop app and completely lost the work time that I had allocated for the specific client.
I've reached the point where I have to make a decision.  I can't spend 1-2 hours dealing with and reinstalling software every time I need to update the product.  I know I can't be the only person having this problem.  Are you having this problem?  Have you found a permanent solution?  Adobe has told me 3 times that this issue is solved, but it definitely is not.
I'm hoping that someone has a permanent solution that doesn't involve too much surgery.  Again, it's working *now*, but only until the next update.

It's something that facebook needs to fix. They broke their app, they need to fix it.
You can try using safari to access facebook in the meantime. IT's worked fine all along.

    I'm having two problems with iTunes, but I'm not sure if they're related issues. First, when I try to click "Download All Updates" for apps, only one update will download and I will get successive error messages for all of the other updates. However, if I click update for each individual app, they download fine. Why am I not able to download all app updates simultaneously now.
    My second issue is that I cannot move songs from iTunes to my external hard drive or vice versa. When I drag the files, the blue plus sign appears, but the file does not appear where I moved it to.

    While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. This seems to help with partial downloads...

    The last days the app update is behaving very strange. One moment there are no updates, then suddenly there are 8 but iTunes cannot find them. And at this moment, there are 41 updates being downloaded while 5 minutes ago there were none. What's going one?

    whatever song I will try to play, I got the warning that “the song could not be used because the original file could not be found” and I add to delete and re-add all the song and set-up all my favorite again

  • Must reinstall with every boot up

    I'm using Thunderbird on a imac with OS 10.5. After I emptied the trash today I could not open TB. I went to the TB file in the Applications folder and it was empty. The icon remains on my desktop.
    I downloaded the latest TB and reinstalled. That fixed it, or so I thought. When I reboot, TB no longer works and I have to reinstall again. Afterwards it works fine. None of my email files are lost.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • How do I get Adobe to stop asking to install another toolbar with every Flash player update?

    Setting the default values to "opt in" on some funky toolbar duing a simple update procedure is an evil thing**.  The only reason you keep this up is because you hope I will just once forget to uncheck this box and then I'lll be stuck with another useless toolbar on my browser.  You know what?  if it was the best thing since sliced bread, I'd already have it.  If you were honest, you would set the default to off and maybe include some blurb about how great it was and I should check in on because my life would be changed forever for the better... No, I didn't think so.  Anyway, here's the deal.  Next time I see an update and it includes yet another thing to add on to my computer and the default value will result in said bit of trash being added to my computer, I will turn off updates alogether.
    *This is known as a dark programing practice, Similar to how insurance companies get people to pay for flight insurance, or how LA Fitness will let you join with a single click, but you will need to wade through pages of crud and wait two weeks to get out.

    Instead of turning off updates all together, I'd like to encourage you to enable automatic updates instead.  While not completely silent, it does allow your flash installation to stay as secure as possible with minimal amount of noise.  For the quarterly updates that do pop up UI, you can simply ignore them.  After 30 days we'll update silently in the background.  Here's a faq that describes the process.

  • Anyone else having trouble with previously purchased apps updating?

    My iPhone and iPad apps are updating correctly, however, within iTunes on mac (latest versions of all 10.9 Mac OS X and 11.1.3 iTunes), hen I check for updated apps, I receive the message "all apps are up to date." I know this message to be false as my phone just updated several apps and the version on my Mac is a few versions behind. While not a big issue (I don't use the apps on my Mac, only on my iPhone), it begs the question of why this is happening and if this is broken, what else isn't working correctly? I appreciat any help and responses. Also, I've already tryied clearing the iTunes cache and also rebooting (in case any of these "standard" responses apply).

    I frequently get my connection is to slow for play.
    Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.

    Considered deleting the new version of Skype from iTunes, but the warning about losing the Touch version of Skype when the device was synched with iTunes is not the result acceptable.
    Is it possible to still save the old Skype version on the Touch?
    The new Skype version is supposed to be loaded with ads ...
    Is the hard drive iTunes backup still containing the old Skype version?
    If "Yes", can I import the old backup into iTunes, and then reupdate my apps without selecting the new version of Skype this time?

         Hi,  have been fussing since my original post and your prompt reply/solution; but, there's still too much chicken here to commit ...
    Is this clear about my objectives:
      I have an old Skype version still on my 3rd. gen. Touch, and do not wish to upgrade the version to the newer, current version now available at the iTunes Store, and also I have already downloaded 85 update apps from the Store to iTunes for Windows.
    Windows iTunes is waiting to install all 85 update apps, and I do not want the new Skype version with the ads.
    My itunes computer is always authorized, and the auto sych device option is always disabled.
    Are you saying, transfer the purchased apps from the device to itunes; and therefore the downloaded updates waiting in iTunes will be over-written by the older device apps copies/versions still on the device??
    If this chicken explaination is correct, then would removing the synch checkmark in front of the left side of the newer Skype version icon; and the checkmark to the left of auto-synch New programs/apps and the synching to the device be the same result, except that the 84 app updates in itunes would be completed without a reloading of those apps to itunes minus the new version of Skype with the ads.
    Would like to clean this up successfully before synching with a new 4th. gen. Touch, and a new iPhone.
    I do appreciate your involvement towards a sharper image in my mind.

    I've refrained from updating apps for a while, as I like mission critical apps to stay the same until projects are over...
    But I occassionally go in and selectively update apps if they aren't mission critical or are, but don't have major interface changes I'm unfamiliar with.
    So app update notices have gotten over 60.
    Now my iPad mini, has seems to no longer beable to load all the app updates... I go to the updates section of the app store and it loads for a while, then just has a blank white screen.
    Tapping on update all does not do anything.
    Any suggestions?
