Nightmare with iPhone update! Help!

I changed mobile provider today, which resulted in me having to do an update in order to get my phone unlocked! I've avoided updates for fear of losing data up to now! I did a sync and backup but when it came to the 6 update I realised that instead of loading my data it's loaded my husbands data- his text messages, apps etc.
It's now called 'dads iphone' instead of 'mums iPhone' and I just can't find mums iphone anywhere. I went back to restoring to factory settings and trying again, but once again it saved dads I phone material!
I know that the data must be saved on windows xp but don't know how to save it to my phone?
I would really appreciate some help as loads lost, including texts, contacts etc!

You can try resetting your iPad and iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

Is there a problem with iPhone update server, I can't seem to update my IOS on my wife's 3GS iPhone, keep getting message that the server is not reachable, yet I am connected to internet and had no problem syncing the phone or downloading iTunes software

What's up with the iPhone update server. I have repeatedly tried in recent days to update the IOS software on my wife's 3GS iPhone but keep getting message that the iPhone update server cannot be contacted. The phone syncs normally and I am sure I am connected to the internet properly. Also I have successfully updated ITunes software during this same time frame. What gives??

Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

Can't sync Outlook notes with iPhone, Please help!!!

I can't sync my Outlook's notes with iPhone, it just stopped working a few months back and no matter how i removed my email acoounts, restore it still won't work! please help!

I use outlook and just got a new work phone.
i had to go in and turn the icloud notes off. Then connect your phone, go into itunes under info, almost at the bottom is "Other" and in there you can sync with notes.
took me a while until i turned them off on the phone in icloud section.

Is there a solution to the problems with iPhone update 5?

My phone (3GS), which hitherto, worked absolutely fine, slowed right down immediately after updating to 5. And, as many people have found, immediately following the update, the battery life developed a mind of its own - having previously been steady and reliable, the phone battery will now drain down from 20% to nothing in a matter of seconds, depending on what app I'm using. I wish I hadn't bothered with this update; it's made my phone so frustrating to use. Is there a solution?

Right, I've done a restore and ejected the phone. Now it's giving me only two options: either set up as a new phone, or restore from iTunes backup (I don't use Cloud). It's not giving me a sync option so I guess I'll have to restore, unless anyone has any better suggestions?

Help with iphone update to 7.0.4 - wont restore or leave the connect to itunes screen

I am currently overseas in Thailand and decided to try to update my iso from 6 to 7. Initially I went through settings>software update with a strong connection to wifi - it downloaded on my phone but then instead of updating came with the screen connect to itunes (I am thinking because there wasnt enough space on my iphone?). I have now connected it to a computer with the most updated version of itunes.
The screen on itunes looks like this:

The two buttons below say "check for update (grey)" and "restore iphone (can click)" - I have clicked restore iphone and it proceeded to download iphone software update (1.12GB) - once downloaded nothing changes, i cannot apply the download to my iphone and still my iphone has the connect to itunes screen - I have done this twice and nothing has changed.
I would really appreciate any help or advice on what is happening, and why it cant restore my iphone -
Apple tech geeks encouraged to respond!!! please!!! I really need to have my iphone working again.

At all stages I have tried holding the circle button and top button to reset iphone but nothing changes!

Put the iPhone in DFU mode, (Google how to put iPhone in DFU mode).
Shift+Restore if using PC, Option+Restore for Mac, point to already downloaded firmware. You may have to un-hide folders to see the .IPSW file

Itunes 11.1.3.8 sync problems with iphone 5 - help?

I have an iPhone 5 and I am using itunes 11.1.3.8.
I noticed that a few CDs I recently imported were not syncing onto my iphone. After a few tries at syncing, I noticed that under the 'On this iPhone' section the songs from these CDs were listed but were faded and had grey dotted circles next to them. A few more syncs later and now pretty much all my music content has disappeared from my iPhone. Every single song that I had before is still in my music folder on the iphone, but if you try to play any they just fade and come up with a red download circle and a stop button and the player skips through load of songs until it get to one that is still saved on my iphone. I had about 1100 songs before and although all of them are still in my music folder, the only ones still working are about 40 that are in a playlist I created and a few videos and songs that I never had on my iphone before because they were unticked in my itunes library but have suddenly synced onto my iphone. I had about 3gb free space before, when I sync it lists correctly how much should be there, but then it does a very quick sync and goes to having 7.5gb free. Incidentally, even though only 40 of the 1100 songs are working, in settings it says there are about 840 songs on my iphone. Even though the music has been the only real thing affected, the data on one of my apps has completely disappeared.
I have scoured the internet and nothing seems to help. I have tried to deselect all my music so it is all removed from my iphone but when I sync it just goes back to the same thing. I can't restore it to a previous backup because the only backups remaining are ones after this occurred. I have tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. I have tried reinstalling itunes. I have deleted itunes and reinstalled it again. I have signed out of my itunes store account. I have tried manually selecting songs but it wont allow me. I have tried unselecting the tick box saying 'only sync songs ticked'. I have deleted all my temporary files on my computer and cleaned out the registry. I have turned my computer off and on.
I have a feeling it may be somethign dodgy with itunes 11.1.3.8. I only downloaded this update within the last two weeks. It synced once before and synced earlier on today without these problems occuring apart from the recent CD imports syncing. The only difference today is that I added a £15 gift voucher to my itunes account and bought a song. When I bought the song, I did so through a cashback website. When I clicked through from the cashback website, itunes wa already open, and it seemed to refresh when I did this. Incidentally, this song is one of the few still in my iphone and working.
Can anyone help me with this?

Background: In The Netherlands I am getting the info on an Apple User group that there would be no iTunes Sync possiblity anymore with the intro of IOS7, which I cannot imagine, or at least don't hope so. They say that IOS7 does not have those sync possibilities anymore, so I would be forced to use iCloud.

IOS 7.1.2: recovery mode and itunes could not verify with iphone updates

after clicking the update, it says that I have to connect to iTunes. After connecting the iTunes, the iTunes doesn't not recognize the phone and I have to restore my phone. However, after clicking 'restore iphone' and the connection to software is stalled and now still have problems with connection. Fyi, I have checked the wifi and internet connection, all seems OK and good.
it almost 4 hours now, I cant use my phone to make phone calls or checking emails.
what should I do?

IPhone Update Help! iTunes wants to restore my iPhone...

Updated my iPhone with the new update as usual, but an error occurred and the screen on my iPhone has the "insert your iPhone to iTunes" picture and on iTunes, it seems like everything was erased... Is there any other way of fixing this without restoring my iPhone?

I am having the same problem, have you tried to restore it and half way through it just stops and says errror 29? I found another discussion forum on this problem and it has to do witht he update that is messing something up. A lot of ppl have tried contacting apple about it and they say they have no solutions at this time. Im going to call them as well and see if they have a solution yet and if not maybe they will replace the phone because this is not something we did! I also heard of a software you can d/l but its not from apple, however it has helped some people. I'm a little weary of it but if I find out what it was again i'll post it. This is very frustrating and if you figure out any other solutions let me know!

Iphone Update Help

I have just hooked up my iphone to my computer and im having trouble getting the update. It will download then say "Backing Up Iphone" and it just sticks there. What should i do? i have unplugged it and pluged it back in and im still getting the same result. Help please!

Make sure you have USB 2.0 and follow my steps too as below........I had mega problems. Try following the steps in my posting as below after creating a new user account on your computer with ADMIN priviledges also. See my posting on 20/06/2009 22:33 titled "Upgrade Error number 4 and Restore Error 1603 when going to OS 3.0 - Solved"
And turn off any antivirus and firewall software too, before doing so. In ITunes, highlight your iphone icon and then click the Restore Button on the ITunes Summary tab which seems to force the iphone into an update. Dont try using the Check for update button. Good Luck...........

Password protected home Wi-Fi not working with iPhone. Help.

I will try to make this short and to the point. My phone will detect the home network, ask me for the password, join it, and show the wifi icon, full to the top.
But it doesn't allow for surfing the net/sending email. It also doesn't show the ip address and such info in the networking section.
My wifi works all other places, even two others that are PW protected.
I can normally troubleshoot my way out of these issues and I know a little bit about this kinda thing to solve the issue, but I am stumpted. Any help or similar experiences shared here would be appreciated.

If nothing is goin yourway and you have done the basic troubleshooting tasks, then all is left for you to resolved this issue is to do a restore, everything will be fine and working after that.
I had the exact same problem with an iPhone - a swift restore solved everything and everything is happy ever after.

NIGHTMARE WITH IPHONE 5

Speaker blew completely out last night in the middle of a conversation. No rings, music, games etc can e heard. Also had a sound that sounds like I'm speaking from a barrel. Tones come in that sound like call waiting.

Assuming your settings are correct, here are things you can try:
1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
2. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service. Assuming there's no liquid or accidental damage, the repair will probably be covered by warranty.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions

Using that last article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!

Not sure exactly what you're asking but to reinstall iphoto:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.
