NIK filters and PSE 13

Na de upgrade van PSE 11 naar PSE 13 ben ik  zijn mijn NIK filters verdwenen in het blad van de filters.
Graag oplossing aub.

yes, i was able to fix this quite easily doing the following. I am not sure each step is necessary but this is what I did:
I logged out of flicker in my default browse (make sure you have the correct log-in credentials for later)
I deleted the cookies in my default browser.
I quit my default browser
I quit PSE13
I rebooted my computer.
Once the computer rebooted, I launched PSE 13, I tried sharing with Flckr again, and the program took me to a log in screen where i entered my credentials and it successfully linked the programs.

  • NIK filters probleem met PSE 13 (plugins)

Na upgrade van PSE 11 naar PSE 13 kan ik mijn NIK filters niet installeren.(ook DXO)
    graag oplossing aub.

    Hi ,
PSE 11 was a 32 bit program while PSE 13 is 64 bit application.
you need to copy 64 bit plugin for this .
Please go to C:\Program Files\Google Or Nik \Nik Collection.
and here you will see  different plugins for 64 bit application in different folders.
Copy these 64 bit plugis and paste it to
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 13\Plug-Ins

  • Adding Nik filters to Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 CC

I've just recently installed Photoshop CC and LIghtroom 5 CC.  My Nik filters aren't showing up on my dropdown menue in PS, and only ColorFX shows up in LR.  What do I need to do to make them appear?

This question is asked and answered regularly in the Photoshop forum.

  • I have downloaded Topaz and Nik filters . How can attach them Photoshop cc 2014

I have downloaded Topaz and Nik filters . How can attach them Photoshop cc 2014

I'm having a similar problem, but only with jpg's. I have PS CS6, CC, and CC 2014. Other image file formats function normally with regard to the "open with" list. PS CC 2014 appears on the list. But with jpg's only PS CC appears on the "open with" list and 2014 can't be added by the browsing for it.
The curious thing is that if I have any of the three versions of Photoshop open, click on Photoshop CC in the "open with" list, the image opens in whatever version is already open on my computer. This is true of all image formats. No matter which version I pick from the "open with" list it opens in the currently running program. I use only the latest version so keeping it open all the time is an easy work around. I won't uninstall any of the earlier versions lest more file association quirks result. it would be nice to have this matter fixed.

  • CS3 and Nik filters/Mpix software

I have been experiencing constant freezing of Photoshop CS3 since adding Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 filters and Mpix software for creating photo books.
Any idea what the culprit might be?

If you're running old third-party plug-ins that are not written for UB on a Mac-Intel box running Leopard, that is normal, expected behaviour.

  • Nik Filters Crashing Photoshop CS4??

I have been using Nik filters since they first came out. When Google took over I townload the whole free suite they offered. Than I was 'force fed' Nik Analog and it slowed all of my Nik filters down, and since then I have had periods of tremendeous slow down. then a couple of days ago, whenever I opened an image in Color Efexs I would get an error message and Photoshop would close down.
Then yesterday I would get the following 'pop up' messages also - but this time it happened every time I tried to open any file in Photoshop. That is, my Photoshop CS4 is not usable.
I also have CS3 on my computer and it works fine. I went ahead and installed Silver Efex Pro 2 and Color Efex from my original discs and they work fine.
Google sent me the latest Nik Filter collection today, but I am not able to install it past this point, even if I have my anti-virus temporarily disabled. Also I cannot cancel or close it and I can only get out of it by forcing a computer restart.
I am thinking that I will try a 'System Restore' next, and if that does not work, re-install Adobe Creative Suite CS4 from my disks.
If anybody has any thoughts on this or experienced something similar, I would greatly appreciate any input.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB of hard-drive with 275 GB of Free Space.
    Many thanks,
    christian

Thank you - yes I have done that, and as of right now I can't install it - as per my last screen shot above. Nik/Google suggested I go into Safe Mode and try it that way. Will do that.
Do you think updating the plug-in will actually make Photoshop CS 4 function again?
Going through this process I uninstall the Google/Nik Filter plug-in, but my CS 4 still crashes - see the first screen shot above.
    Many thanks!

  • Problem with Nik filters

A few days ago Nik filters began to work very sluggishly in Photoshop CC.  I have contacted Nik (Google) and they cannot find a solution.  The filters work fine with Elements, but not now with Photoshop CC.  In the past they worked well and fast.  What have I done?

Any chance you're working on an image that's much larger (in pixel counts) than you think?  I ask because occasionally I see people cross up inches and pixels.  How big are the images you're processing?  What Mode (format and bit depth)?

  • Nik Filters not showing up in 'Edit in' with LR 4.2

I'm running LR 4.2 and all the Nik filters (complete set) are updated yet I only see Color Efex 3.0 Complete and Edit in PS 6.0.  All the filters are showing and operating in PS 6.0.  I do see HDR Efex Pro 2.0 under export as expected.  I'm guessing that I have something turned off in LR so if anyone has some insight to get the appropriate filters to show up under the 'Edit in' heading I would appreciate pointing me in the right direction.

have you tried replacing it with the file essbase.bak_startup file, instead of the older essbase.sec file?
If you check your app folders you will still be able to see the cubes you had created its just that Essbase can't pull those up with the older .sec file.
The essbase.bak_startup file is always updated everytime the Essbase server is started up.
Be sure to take a backup of the file before starting up the server again.
The reason your essbase.sec and essbase.bak files are both corrupt is because when you first discovered that the essbase.sec file is corrupt it was when you started the server up.
What you need to keep in mind if the machine which holds the essbase server shuts down abruptly or crashes (which usually leads to the situation you are in) is to never start up the Essbase server right away, as you may have a corrupt essbase.sec file, and if you start up the server without taking a backup of the essbase.bak file you may risk corrupting the essbase.bak file as well.
This is because at start up the essbase.bak file gets replaced with the essbase.sec file.
let me know if this works.

  • Lightroom 4 - My Nik filters are not in the Edit version of Elements when I want to edit with cmd+E.

Lightroom 4 - My Nik filters are not in the Edit version of Elements when I want to edit a picture from the Lightroom Bibliotheque with cmd+E, because Ligthtroom use a back up copy of Ellements 11 that is on an extern back up drive (i don't understand how that is possible). My Nik filters are not on that drive but well on my Mac's Hard Disc.
How can I tell to Lightroom to use the Mac's Hard Disc version that is in the Dock ?

Of course my Nik filters are why the Dock version of my Mac.
The question is that I don't know why, Lightroom when I want to edit a picture in Elements (cmd+e), Lightroom start un security copy of Elements that I have put on my extern hard disk and that copy is without the Nik filters.
So how can I tell to Lightroom NOT to use the version of Element that is on extern hard disk but the original version on the hard disk of my Mac in the map Applications ?

  • Third Party Filters in PSE 13

    Hi,
I have been using PSE 10 for some time now, and have been using 3rd party filters/plugins in the editor (Topaz Labs, DXO ViewPoint, Perfect Effects).
As these other tools were installed after I installed PSE 10, I could see them listed at the bottom of the 'Filters' menu.
I have now installed PSE 13, so I cannot see these extra filters.
I read on another forum that I could add another filter library by selecting 'Edit > Preferences > PlugIns' and then navigating to the folder containing one of the 3rd party tools, which I have done.
However, this only allows me to add the filters for one of the products (E.g. Topaz Labs), if I try to add the filters for another product it loses the Topaz Labs filters and shows just the newly added filters.
How do I get all my old filters shown?
Do I need to uninstall these tools and re-install them?

I have found a resolution here Plug-ins are not available by default
For those experiencing a similar issue I have outlined the steps below:
    - Basically, what I did was opened 2 Explorer windows.
    - In one I navigated to my PSE 10 Plugins folder and in the other I navigated to my PSE 13 Plugins folder (see link above for the locations of these folders).
    - I then copied the relevant folders / shortcuts from PSE 10 to PSE 13 folders.
    - One adjustment I needed to make for the Topaz Labs plugins was to ensure that the Plugins_X64 folder, for each of my purchased products, was renamed to Plugins (because PSE 13 is 64 bit on 64 bit operating systems).
    - Restarted PSE 13, Selected 'Edit > Preferences > Plugins' and unticked the 'Additional Plug-Ins Folder' option.

  • LR4.3 w/ NIK filters - Image previews keep reloading Constantly until Catalog Optimization

Just bought the NIK filters on Googles big sale - problem is everytime I add a NIK filter - so far only tried Color Efex Pro - via the External Editor in LR4.3, Save, and then go back into LR4.3 the Image Preview keeps reloading while I try to make further adjustments on the image. Impossible to work with as when I use Adjust brush the image disappears for a second as I move the brush around to add my mask.
Interestingly, if I Exit LR4 and relaunch the catalog that same photo with the NIK filter has no problem anymore. The catalog is set to "optimize" everytime I close LR. So why when NIK filters are added can the catalog not work well with them until the optimization process?  Do I have a setting wrong in preferences that effects this?
I called NIK (Google) twice. They are useless. A so-called LR NIK expert named "Jessica" is not the expert she presents. She only knows how to have you re-install the software LOL. Then transfers you to oblivion of Google MUSAK. I don't think that NIK LR experts exist there or they are Product Managers who are not on support. Hoping some LR guru might know what is happening with my previews when those filters are applied.
Win 7 64 bit environment  16 GB RAM (but same thing happens on my Mac Laptop)

Thanks Rob. I opened a different LR4 catalog on the PC that only has two photos in it and the problem didnotoccur. So it does seem to be an issue with catalogs that have a lot of raw Canon 5D Mark III images. The image "flickering/reloading" also occurs on the Mac Laptop running a different catalog but that one also has a ton of canon raw images. The PC catalog (the one with the problem) also resides on an EHD so I'm not sure if that is a factor, or not - the other one with only 2 photos total  is on my hard drive.
I guess I could try to move the entire catalog to my HD (and raw images) and test again. If still a problem then it is either the size of the catalog or some setting in that catalog. Does NIK SW have a max size threshold recommended? I realize it converts the raw to an RGB format when it opens the image - the last image started as 25MB raw and ended up at 160MB after I added a few of your filters stacked and then did some touch ups in LR. Do your recommend any compression? I can set that as a preference for Color Efex in the External Editor settings?

  • NIK filters disappeared in PS CC

While editing a photo in PS CC I went to my filters menu and selected one of the NIK filters.  When I did I got an application error and PS closed down.  When I brought PS back up and went to the filters menu the NIK filters had disappeared.  I rebooted my PC (Windows 7), brought PS back up and still not there.  I went to the application's plug-in directory and the NIK filters were there.  I moved the NIK filter plug-in folder out to my desktop, brought PS back up, closed it back down and moved the folder back in to the plug-in directory.  Still no help, the NIK filters just refuse to show up.
I'm at a loss.  Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Any chance you are confusing the 32 and 64 bit versions of Photoshop (installing in one, then launching the other).
Also, have you updated the Nik/Google plugins to pick up bug fixes?

  • NIK filters not working well?

My NIK filters are installed in PS CC. After using, I hit save and I get taken back to the original image in photoshop without a layer or the image altered. How do I make the changes from NIK filters apply to an image in PSCC?
This has not been a problem in PS6 and I actually repurchased the NIK software package and re-installed - no changes.

This really is a question for NIK support:  https://support.google.com/nikcollection/?hl=en#topic=3288093

  • Problem With Nik Plugins and Lightroom 4.3

I bought a Drobo Mini and moved my photos and my Lightroom Catalog onto it.  The reason I did this was because I just bought a MacBook Pro laptop to supplement my Mac Pro Desktop and I wanted to be able to use both computers with the Drobo Mini and not have to constantly be importing Catalogs back and forth.  This was a solution that Tim Grey recommended.  The advantage is I can take the Drobo Mini with me on the road and add my new photos directly to the Catalog when I'm traveling, and then when I get home, I can just hook up the Drobo Mini to the Mac Pro Desktop and continue with my work.  The problem I've encountered is with my Nik plugins Color Efex Pro 4 and Silver Efex Pro 2.  On the new computer everything works fine.  On the desktop computer I can't go directly from Lightroom into Color Efex Pro 4 or Silver Efex Pro 2 for the new photos initially downloaded from the new computer.  For all my photos downloaded through the old computer, both computers work fine.  Only the new computer works with the Nik Filters for the new photos.  Also, if I go over to Photoshop from Lightroom, the new photos won't let me just hit "Save" and exit Photoshop.  Instead, I have to designate a location for the "Save" as if I was doing a "Save As" and then it doesn't show up in Lightroom unless I import it again.  I'm trying to get some answers from Nik but I thought maybe someone on this forum might know what is causing this problem??  Any help greatly appreciated.
