Nike+ 10k Leaderboard problems should be fixed by Tues. after Labor Day

I have been exchanging emails with Matthew at Nike+. He says, "I forwarded your information to the Nikeplus.com website team and they did find a bug regarding the calculations. They are going to have this corrected on Tuesday with the next update. Thanks for your patience with this issue."
Now I'm assuming the update will fix things for everyone who has had problems with their 10 km runs not posting on the 10 k leaderboard.
I wonder if this will also fix the personal best column that has me doing 10 km in less time than it takes me to do 5 km. What's wrong with that picture?
Anybody else heard anything about fixes to the Nike+ leaderboards?

OK, before you moved the iTunes folder did the library contain entries for your original files?
This is the normal layout of the iTunes folders. From what you said at the outset it would seem that, as far as that copy of your library is concerned, it thinks the media folder is C:\System Recovery Files\C\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media
Not quite sure where you have moved the original set of library files to (that is the five files listed above and the Album Artwork folder) but you should move these to C:\System Recovery Files\C\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes, (leaving everything else in place) then click the icon to launch iTunes and immediately press and hold down the left shift key until asked to choose or create a library. Click choose and browse to the library file at C:\System Recovery Files\C\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl - fingers crossed this will open your old database, which will be able to find your old files. If that goes well we can look to moving them somewhere more sensible.

  • Avoid MathScipt Comments in EXE, Build & Run Problems - NI Please Fix these Bugs!

    Hello,
After 4 days of intensive work, I have finally found the solution for two major MathScript Problems:
    1) Mathscript Comments are included in your EXE File !!
        - Yes, if you do not watch your steps, the EXE will include all your % Mathscript Comments!
    2) Problems building, but even worse: An app that builds with NO Error and NO Warnings will not RUN and creates the following misleading Erro Message:
"The VI is not Executable. The full development version of LabView is required to fix the errors"
With absolutely NO hint to what VI have the problem.
I have made myself an internal note how to avoid this problem. I am using LabView 2009, 2010 DS1 Release (I think this is 9.01) under WInXP SP2.
Rather than retyping everything, I will post the full text of my Notes below. I also mention several other LV BUG in this note, so pleae read carefully.
One is the TagSrv Error that occurs in LabView 2009 if I programatically deploy Shared Variables under the WinXP Development Environment. After this problem has occured, it will occur every time I restart XP, and in essense I have to restore to before I did this (thanks Nortong Ghost !!!).
Below you can find the full unabridged version of my Build, Run and Bug Notes for LV 2009 / 2010 DS1 (9.01). Hope they can be helpful to my fellow LabView programmers!
    2010-07-03:
    Building under LabView 2009 / 2010 DS1 Release (version 9.01)
    Follow the steps below:
    a) To successfully build an EXE that also runs
    b) Avoid that MathScript Comments are included in the EXE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Before Building:
    I) Recompile All  by pressing Ctrl+Shift and pressing the RUN button on the Application_References.vi
Then Save All (about 1200 Vis are saved)
II) Make Sure that NO User Defined Mathscript (and Mathscript Nodes?) define Empty Functions:
This seemed to cause the following problem with the built EXE: The main VI will be broken, and a dialog reports:
"The VI is not Executable. The full development version of LabView is required to fix the errors"
MathScitp BUG: Empty Functions causes no Build Errorm but RUN Error:
The following User Defined MathScript .m files are candidates:
log_write() and log_clear() whith do_log_write() and do_log_clear() commented out, these functions are empty.
When calls to log_write() and log_clear() where removed, the problem above vanished !
    Building the EXE:
    1) Additional Exclusions:
     -"Disconnect type definitions": YES
     - "Remove unused polymorphic VI instantces": YES
     - "Remove unused members of project libraries": NO (do not know if this is important)
    2) Advanced:
     - Enable Debugging: "NO"
    3) Mathscript BUG: The Application Builder Includes ALL MathScript Comments in the EXE if you use the New Build File Layout:
       IMPORTANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
       Advanced:
"Use LabView 8.x file layout": YES !!!!!!!
Using the new layout, causes ALL COMMENTS FROM USER DEFINED MATHSCRIPT .M FILES TO BE INCLUDED IN THE .EXE !!!!!!!
    4) BUG: DSC Reference Problem in LabView 2010 DS1 release:
In VI Deploy_Shared_Variables.vi we deploy alle Shared Variables using the "Deploy Libraries.vi" which is a part of the DSC option.
As long as only deploying of Variables is used, using this VI should NOT require any DSC Runtime license.
We have used this before with no compilation problems.
However, starting with LV 2009 SP1 (or was it the DS1 2010 upgrade) LV will start nagging us to resolve references to tens of VIs
in the DSC lib file ! Solution: Used press "Stop" on the dialog, and the Build will succeed and the EXE will work !
Optionally, we could use the following Invoke node for the deployment:
(see: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/04D9A85B6967EE87862571140065EEC6). Excerpt from this description:
<<Right-click the block diagram to bring up the programming palette and go to Programming»Application Control and place the
Invoke Node on the block diagram. Using the hand tool, click Method and select Library»Deploy Library>>
    5) LabView BUG: Do NOT RUn the Application under the WIn XP SP2 Development Environment if the APP Deploys Shared Vars:
This will cause the Dreaded TagSrv Error:  "TagSrv.exe: This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way".
After this Error has occured, it will reoccur each time WinXP SP2 is restarted, and (Network) Shared Variables will NOT work any more!

    Hello Geir,
I have tried to reproduce the behavior you are seeing where .m file comments appear in the final built executable.  However, I am unable to do so using LabVIEW 2009 SP1.  I have a caller VI with a MathScript node that calls the adder function in adder.m.  The contents of adder.m are as follows:
% ADDER This function adds 3 to its input variable
    %   y = adder(x)
    %   INPUT: x
    %   OUTPUT: y, equal to x + 3
    function y = adder(x)
    y = x + 3;
I have configured the build specification as you mention in steps (1) and (2):
    Additional Exclusions
     - "Disconnect type definitions" Yes
     - "Remove unused polymorphic VI instances" Yes
     - "Remove unused members of project libraries" No
    Advanced
     - "Enable Debugging" No
At first, I did not include the adder.m file in the project.  I built the application and was not able to find the text "adder" anywhere in the EXE.  Then, I added the .m file to the project and put it in the "Always Included" section in "Source Files."  Again, I was not able to find the search text in the built EXE.  In step 3, you mention
    geirove wrote:
"Use LabView 8.x file layout": YES !!!!!!!
but in the 5th post in this thread, you state
    geirove wrote:
Compile using the new compile method ( Use LabView 8.x file layout": NO),
I have tried both settings in the Advanced section, but again, I am not able to find any comments in the EXE.  I even added a call to the "path" function in adder.m.  This puts a warning glyph on the caller MathScript node and generates different code.  The EXE will return an unknown symbol error for adder (any VI with a warning glyph will not work in a built app), but I am not able to find any comments in the EXE.  This project is attached below.
As for your other item with a broken EXE if you call empty functions, I am unable to reproduce this as well.  I have taken the last attachment to your third post in this thread (the log_write function) and called it from the caller VI as well.  The EXE runs just fine and I do not find any comments in this EXE either.
Unfortunately, there was a rather serious issue in the LabVIEW 2009 MathScript RT Module, where some internal MathScript VIs could become corrupted when building executables.  Have you tried running the "Find Bad Instantiations" tool from this Knowledge Base article?  Simply installing the SP1 version on top may not have corrected any VIs that may be corrupted.
Due to our difficulty in reproducing the issues you mention, could you modify the attached project or else attach a new project, appropriately configured, that builds an EXE with .m comments embedded in it?  This way, we can uncover any minute details that we're overlooking.

when photo stream is supposed to be fixed?my photos  is not going to photo stream from camera roll, so when this problem will be fixed by apple?

There is nothing wrong with Photostream.  The "problem" is likely in the way you are using it.
In order for photos to be moved into Photostream, two things must happen.  (1) you have to be connected to Wifi, and (2) you have to exit the Camera app. Unless both of those things happen, the photos will not be transferred to Photostream.
So, shut down your camera app, and connect to Wifi.  Wait a while, and the photos you took with your iPhone should be transferred.

Try resetting the SMC and the PRAM.
    1. SMC
Read this and follow the instructions for your kind of mac:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    2. PRAM
    Follow the procedure below:
    1. Power down the machine.
    2. Locate the following keys on your keyboard in preparation for Step 4:
    command–option–P–R
    3. Press the ‘power on’ button.
    4. Immediately – and before the grey screen appears – hold down ‘command-option-P-R’ all together.
    5. Keep them held down until you’ve heard the start-up chime twice. After you release them you should hear it again, and hopefully your Mac will boot up as it should normally.

    Assuming iPhoto 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

    Hi Renuka,
The model classes get generated under gen_cmi folder at the time of model import.
As far I know, the Web Dynpro build operation also re-generates these classes if reqd.
That is why I asked you to delete the gen_* folder content & do a Project Rebuild operation.
Or you can delete the model & try importing it again.
If the problem persists with the generated classes then there is an issue/bug with the generation & I would recommend to raise an OSS message (WD Java component)
    Kind Regards,

  • Apple should still fix iWeb bugs.

Apple should still fix iWeb bugs, even though it has been discontinued. There are many many bugs still in the latest version.
One of which is failure to save your current work and to enable the publish button when changes are made.

That's like asking Ford to continue to provide parts for the Edsel or Chevrolet for the Corvair.
What system and iWeb version are you using?  iWeb 2 (08) is not compatible with Mt. Lion.  iWeb 3 is. Others who have had that problem did find fixes.
As Roddy pointed out you could learn how to use iWeb and it's menus?
    iWeb 2
    iWeb 3:
    It's really not that hard.

  • HT1725 Some songs that I paid for fully downloaded, but it is only playing the small sample piece from the Itunes store. How should I fix this?

I had a Wish List with about 7 or 8 songs on there and I purchased them today. They all downloaded fine, except for 2. These two songs completed the download from what the computer says, but it will only play the short sample avaliable from the Itunes store. How should I fix this?

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over the last few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting them from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

Anyone know when Apple will bring out a patch to fix the volume problem you get on mac mini after downloading OS 10.8.5?

Only Apple knows the answer to whether or not there is a verified problem and if so when will a fix be released.  As is their custom, Apple does not talk about these things and the rules of these communities prohibit speculation about future udates or upgrades. It is probably safe to say if a fix is deemed necessary it will be called OS X 10.8.6.

  • Self Assigned IP / DHCP problem : sharing my fix.

Okay. I WAS frustrated for a long two weeks before I figure this out. It seems that this problem has affected a LOT of people out there, and since I now am (supposedly) free of this thing, I want to share my hypothesis of the problem's roots (A) and my fix (B).
    Note that:
    - i'm free of this problem since the last one week, so .. well, hopefully this is right.
    - the problem happens almost anywhere, with any router types, and in any connection type, be it ethernet or wireless a/b/g/n.
    - the problem is automagically fixed by running into safe mode.
    - the problem keeps happening again and again, although you have powercycled everything of the electronic peripherals in your house, even by disconnecting your phone/ADSL line and main power fuse.
    - disabling the Mac OS X Application Firewall sometimes cures it, but most of the time it happens again.
    - AFAIK (correct me if i'm wrong), the ipfw, mother of all OS firewall, exists within Mac OS X, and the Mac OS X Application Firewall (i call this OSXAF) has nothing to do with ipfw.
    A. My hypothesis and the reasons.
    * for an unknown reason, there is a rule created for ipfw that tells it to block the ports 67 and 68, both are the common DHCP ports.
    * because of that, your Mac cannot contact with any DHCP servers, anywhere. This forces your mac to assign an IP address by itself.
    * disabling OSXAF incidentally removes that rule, but after (one or a few times) reconnect or reboot, the rule appears again.
    * powercycling your routers or anything related does not concern ipfw, thus has no effect whatsoever to the problem.
    B. My fix.
    1. Get the WaterRoof free ipfw frontend (forgot the site, just google)
    2. Open it.
    3. Go to Static Rules part.
    4. Find everything which reads "deny blah blah blah port blah,blah,67,68,blah blah"
    5. Edit those rules so that there is no 67 and 68 inside.
    6. Open tools -> rules configuration -> save to startup configuration -> yes.
    7. Open tools -> startup script -> install startup script -> yes.
    That's all.
For me, this seems to be a permanent fix. Please note that the startup script mentioned before exists in all *nix-based machines, so don't worry about startup time, there'll be no slowdowns (again, please correct me if i'm wrong, i had only little experience with *nixes). Besides, i suspect that if you don't save and reinstall that script, the previous script is the one which has 67 and 68 inside.
Hopefully this helps. Any corrections, comments, suggestions, and/or knowledge are welcome.
    Cheers,
    -bam, the noob.

OK, so a little background -
I have an MBP with 10.5.5 (which I downloaded yesterday, so that's not the issue). This year at school they upgraded the wireless system and network control to Foundry routers and Bradford Securities Network Control. Problem is, my computer is intermittently and randomly having a hard time sticking with one IP and staying away from a self-assigned 169 IP. The System Prefs are fine, and even when I change to manual settings for the IP, it doesn't stick. I checked the terminal (tcpdump) and it seemed to be having a tough time accepting one of the two IPs the servers offered (there are two servers for redundancy). It asked for an IP, gets two offers, and then asks again. I was stumped, and so were the IT guys on campus. And it's not just me, many other 10.5 users are having the issue. And it's not the network, because nobody else is having the issue but 10.5 users. Certificate problems are similarly eliminated from possibility.
The IT guy showed my this thread, and I was excited, so I first tried to just shut off the Firewall all together, and that worked, briefly, but now it doesn't matter if the Firewall is on or off, the problem persists. I tried your WaterRoof method, and the similar program NoobProof, but there were no rules relating to ports 67 or 68 at all, let alone denying them. (As a side note, when my FW is off, there's only the rule allowing all IPs in and out, and when it's on (but only allowing specific programs) it gives a second rule that denies "icmp from any to me in imcptypes 8." No idea what that means.) I've been watching tcpdump and the FW logs closely (as well as the console itself), but nothing has changed. The only interesting thing is that when the IP changes from the (good) 137 IP I'm supposed to have to the (bad) 169 IP, often times (in fact, most times) there is no firewall activity. The console says that the en1 link (wireless) is now down, and the tcpdump picks up the computer asking for an IP again, but the firewall logs pick up nothing, neither through the console or through WaterRoof. Which is weird, because I thought it was a FW problem (as did the IT guys), but the logs show that only occasionally when the servers offer me an IP does the FW block the request, but not all the time.
As another point to note, this is not only an issue with the wireless. The wired connection (Ethernet right into the wall, and attempted from many different plug-in sites) also has this issue.
My only conclusion is that the FW is buggy, or that the logs are missing denials, neither of which makes much sense, IMHO.
    Any thoughts?
EDIT: Shutting off the FW often solves the problem, but not always. Sometimes I can get a correct IP even with the FW in full swing without anything popping up in the logs. And sometimes I can't.

    Hello,
It isn't the fw in Network you want o use or look at, that's for something completely different.
My first suspect is the Power Adapter on the LaCie has gone.
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware>Firewire, what is listed there?
    Reset the Firewire bus
If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device.  A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
    1. Shut the machine down.
    2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
    3. leave it for 10 minutes.
    4. Connect back up and reboot.
