Nike  iPod = crash , cannot link sensor

Hello everyone,
I just bought today my first Nike+ sensor so I can go out running with my iPod touch 4gen. The problem is....I DOES NOT WORK!
I turned the in Settings>Nike+ iPod> ON .
This caused that the Nike+ iPod app was installed on my iPod. However when I try to run it, it crashes on startup.
Moreover I cannot link my iPod touch with sensor because the Sensor option in Settings>Nike+ iPod is Grayed out! As well as Remote option.
I tried everything and nothing happened. What is this? This is the best what Apple and Nike could do? Help me guys. There must be a lot of people using iPod touch with Nike sensor on iOS5. Or am I the only one?

My iPhone 5 would not work with the sensor.  The app would crash and the sensor option was greyed out and could not be selected.
Thanks to AnthonyFROMHK - I fixed this by downloading iExplorer, selecting Media and deleting the "device" folder under the "iTunes_control" folder.  Next, I turned off Nike+ipod from Settings then turned it back on.
The app now runs and the sensor can be paired.  Hope this helps someone.

  • Menu option: Nike+iPod Settings Remote Link. Missing on 1st Gen Nano

    Hi,
    Really confused here.
In the Nike + iPod manual section, 'Using a Nike + iPod Remote' its stated i need to:
    - Choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote > Link and follow the onscreen instructions.
I dont have 'Remote' option on the 'Settings' menu.
I'm on iTunes 7.7.0.43 (Vista) with Nano software 1.3.1
Trying to connect an Nike + Amp watch to the Nano.

I just took another look at this and figured out what i was doing wrong.
In the event someone else is acting as dumb as me:
    - To get the Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote menu to appear on your iPod Nano. You need to be pressing Play / Pause on the Remote device, while the Nano is on the Nike+iPod > Settings menu. The Remote menu then auto-magically appears.
    - Pressing Play / Pause on the Nano is not the thing to be doing to make the remote menu appear.
    Yeah i feel dumb.
But in my defence the manual doesnt specify the Play / Pause button to be pushing; the one on the Nano or the Remote.
    Happy running!

  • Ipod touch cannot find sensor

I have had my sensor for about a week. First time I used it, it worked great. Since then the touch cannot find the sensor. I have the sensor in a pouch on top of my shoe with the flat side up. Any suggestions? Thanks. Also what is the purpose of the small button on the rounded side of the sensor?

My wife and I also just bought iPod Touches, Nike+ sensors, and Nike+ shoes. Mine has been working perfectly, but hers synced on day 1, but now acts like the sensor is broken (it isn't, because it syncs with my iPod touch). I'm wondering if there is a problem with her iPod (it's an 8GB 3G, whereas mine is a 32GB 3G).
We tried waking up the sensor by pressing the button on the unit, and even putting the sensor to sleep first by holding in the button for 3 seconds. We know how to sync it, because we can sync it with mine. I'm calling Apple today and will report back with any findings.

  • What is the software/firmware version and Nike+ipod problem

Mine says 1.0.1 in iTunes and says it is up to date. I tried to update the 1.2 version from June and it won't let me.
I am having problems with the Nike+ipod receiver recognizing the sensor and the Apple help says to have version 1.2.
Any thoughts. I've never used this before so I guess it is possible that the sensor is broken from the start.

Hey, i though that i have the same problem but for 2nd gen ipods you dont need the 1.2 version but the 1.0.1 that come with the ipod instaled. When you put the transmiter it works ok

  • Anyone heard of a Nike + iPod Remote?

I've just read the manual to the Nike + iPod kit, and i'm a little confused by this:
Using a Nike + iPod Remote
You can use a Nike+ compatible remote (sold separately) to control Nike + iPod
wirelessly while you work out. Before using a remote, you have to link the receiver to it.
    To link to a remote:
1 Connect the receiver to an iPod.
2 Choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote > Link and follow the onscreen instructions.
To turn remote functionality on or off:
Choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote and set Remote Commands to On or Off.
    To unlink a remote:
Choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Remote > Unlink and follow the onscreen instructions.
I can't find any remote, that is working with the Nike + iPod kit, can You?

  • Nike+ iPod very inaccurate

    Hi,
To day i was out on a 2 mile run but when I came back, my iPod told me I hade ran for just 0.5 miles.
This is very annoying and I would like know (without spending more money) how can I improve the accuracy of my Nike+ sensor as clearly 0.5 miles is very inaccurate?
    Thanks.

    Hey dylanfromantrim,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you are having an issue with the accuracy of the Nike + sensor. These two articles address the accuracy of the sensor.

The Nike + iPod system measures the distance traveled by most runners and walkers to over a 90 percent degree of accuracy, right out of the box. You can calibrate the system to your stride for increased accuracy.

  • Do Nike+ iPod sensor have a battery and can i die?

I was just wondering if the Nike+iPod sensors have a battery and if it does, can it die? Why I ask is because I was trying to turn on the sensor and link it to my iPod touch and my iPod nano. But it just says searching for sensor. and i put the sensor in my shoe and walk around but it still can not link? and i also did this:
    1. Hold down center button and menu button on iPod until the Apple Logo appears and then let go
    2. Hold down the sensor's button for 5 seconds then press it twice one after another quickly, so hold for 5 then click click
    3. Put the sensor in your shoe
    4. Put the receiver into iPod and go to Nike+ iPod > Settings > Link then click center button to link to new sensor
    5. Walk around and the receiver should pick up on the sensor
But it still won't work.. so i was wondering if my sensor died... So can the Nike+ iPod sensor die? Please help, because i really don't want to buy another one.

  • Why is 'sensor' not available on Nike   iPod in 'Settings' on my iPhone 4S?

I have just purchased a new Nike + iPod sensor and the 'Sensor' option on my iPhone 4S has remained greyed out (or disabled) throughout. Actually activating Nike + iPod from Settings proved problematic at first. Attempting to launch the app from the home screen does not work, in fact it simply crashes within a few seconds of launching.

Thanks for letting us know that a clean restore worked. Seems like I'm going to need to do the same thing.
Such a shame Apple's products and software has so many bugs.

  • My iPod touch Nike ipod sensor is not working. Please help.

My iPod touch Nike ipod sensor is not working. Please help. I even walked around when it asked me to. Also I have latest version of iOS. PLease help

Update: I seem to have fixed the problem!  I went to the "summary" section of my iPod after clicking on the device on the left side of iTunes.  I checked the box that allowed me to "manually manage music and videos" and applied this option.  The songs are syncing!  And, yay, they're playing on my iPod now!  Hopefully, this helps anyone else who might have this problem.  There might be other issues, but this is working for now.

  • I have several questions: 1. When I connect my Iphone using Wi-Fi what can I then do? Why won't my Iphone recognize my home network run off of Airport Extreme, and the app Nike   Ipod sensor never activates.

I went to Starbucks this morning and my Wi-Fi on my Verizon Iphone connected, what does this allow me to do? My Wi-Fi does not recognize my home network from which I connect wirelessly to my MacBookPro and to my Apple TV using Airport Extreme router, why? Lastly, what do about the app NIke + Ipod not working. The sensor does not activate even after walking a half mile.

It might be best to ask only one question in each post otherwise you may never be able to mark them as solved.
I went to Starbucks this morning and my Wi-Fi on my Verizon Iphone connected, what does this allow me to do?
It should allow you to access the internet, read mail, etc.
My Wi-Fi does not recognize my home network from which I connect wirelessly to my MacBookPro and to my Apple TV using Airport Extreme router, why?
Try restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). It may not be properly assigning an IP address to your iPhone.

  • Serial number Nike + iPod Sensor

    Hello dear!
I bought a Nike + iPod Sensor which has 4h125pmmvsx serial number, no more accepted so I can support.
The equipment is not working, and the manual, your battery has a life of 1000 hours. It did not last more than 20 hours.
Where can I use to solve my problem? I'm in Brazil and do not know who to look for.
    Thank you,

How old is the sensor? The battery can die.
    Did it ever work?
Does the iPod detect the sensor?
