Nike+ iPod frustrations!

I am desperately searching for info and can't seem to get an answer anywhere!! I have a 60G iPod synced to my Mac. My partner has an iPod nano synced to her pc. I would like to use the Nike+ kit but I know they only work with the nanos. Can I use my partner's nano with the Nike+ kit then download the data to my Mac without affecting our iTunes libraries and what is already on our iPods??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sure you can use your friends nano and nike +......jsut get persmission first. :P
First thing you need to do is if your going to use her nike + both the adapter adn the shoe insert thne you need to calibrate the nano to your own stride. Searhc these forums on how to do this or better yet search for this info in the available product manual. This calibration is good jsut for it to be more accurate.But it also means that your friend will ahve to sdo the same thing owhen you are done with it. YOu could make things easy by purchasing your own nike + kit. ITs only $30 and really all youd be doing is borrowing her nano. THis alsowil alow you to not have any complications syncing the data to an account you set up through itunees and nike + website. I doubt there would be complications from using her nike+ kit since you would have your own account through your seperate ituens and nike+. But you can never know. Try it and be sure to recailibrate the nit for yourself and be sure to sign up for your own account on nike + and on ituens to sync the run data.

I have the iPhone 5C and have question about he Nike IPOD app. It keeps telling me to move around to set up the sensor to start timing my workout. I went on a 20 minute walk and it still did not set the sensor. Help is needed.

I have the IPHONE 5C and am having trouble with the app Nike + IPOD. I go to timed workouts and select 20 minutes and the select playlist and it give me the workout section to start my timed workout. It will say walk around to activate your sensor. Well, I walked 20 minutes last nigth & it it still was telling me to activate my sensor. I was able to still enjoy listening to the music I have on this phone, but frustrated with this silly voice telling me to walk around to activate my sensor.
Have anyone out there had this frustrating problem.??

I used to use an iPod Touch and the sensor on my non-Nike running shoes. I bought a little key pouch that fastened to my laces and stuck it in there. It worked find.
However, with an iPhone, you don't need a sensor. Download the Nike+ Running app from the App Store (or Runmeter or Endomondo or Runtastic). The phone has built in GPS and an accelerometer. It doesn't need the foot sensor like the iPod Touch. You can use any shoes you want. Or no shoes!

Nike + iPod on 3GS

Hello,
I have having a problem with finding the Nike Plus application on my 3GS.
Am I right in saying that the Nike + iPod is available on the iPhone 3GS?
If so, I simply cannot find it anywhere. There is no option in my Settings and there is no Nike app in the list. This is very frustrating as I would really like to make use of it, so any help would be very welcome. I have looked all over the web, but there doesn't seem to be any guidance on this.

Yes. I had already done that. There is no Nike icon there. I scrolled all the way down to the bottom of the list. There's nothing there. At all. That's the problem. I am not sure why. Can anyone please help?

Remote for Nike+ Ipod touch

There is an option on the Nike+ Ipod settings for a remote, and I would not mind skipping the odd track without having to fumble around while running ...
does anyone know who makes these remotes ?

The Nike+ Amp Remote - its a watch made by nike that you connect to your touch NB: It only seems to work while the Nike application is running.
I have used the watch on a ipod nano 3G (with sensor) and this works all the time irrespective of the application running

Nike +ipod playlists not playing complete playlist

Is anyone having issues with using the Nike +ipod for specific playlists. I have my favorite playlist for running and it's skipping songs and I can't get to specific songs that I like. The first time I used it it worked and played all the songs...now I play it and it randomly skips songs and I can't go back to get the song. Any insite would be great.

Myabe obvious, but do you have the Shuffle option turned on under the top-level Settings menu?

IPod nano Problem with Nike+iPod

Yesterday, I just got a new 3G Black iPod nano 8 GB. Sooner today, while looking its features, I found out about Nike+iPod application. Since this is my first iPod, I had no idea what it was. It was asking for the receiver to be connected. I thought that the receiver was actually the USB Charger, so I inserted it. Now it's stuck on the screen asking for the receiver to be attached. I pressed any button I could and tried everything as well. Nothing happened.
What should I do? I suppose that when it is discharched, it will be able to work again, but since it's not playing music, I suppose that the battery will last for pretty much time...

You will need to reset your Nano by holding down the center and menu buttons until the Apple appears on the screen.
The Nike+ Sport kit is a device that attaches to the dock connector of your iPod and has a transmitter that goes in your shoe. Without that, the menu function on the Nano doesn't do much.

But, I dont watch this tab in my iTunes. Windows 8.1, iTunes 12.1.1.4 64 bit.

I install iTunes 10.7.0.21 at another computer and I watch tab Nike+iPod.
Is iTunes 12.1.1.4 not compatible with ipod nano 6G ?

Nike+ ipod not working since upgrading to ios5

I used to link my phone to the Matrix machines which are Nike+ iPod compliant. It used to be fine, I used to run, the runs were never displayed as historic data on the phone but when I synced my phone with iTunes it used to update the website. This worked wheter I used the treadmill/ cycling machine etc.
Since upgrading to iOS5, nothing has synced with the Nike website. After my run a message comes up saying "Workout Completed. You can send your workouts to the Nke+ website in Settings". Am not sure why or how to get this working again.
Any help would be appriciated.

Sorry ignore this. I just went into Settings, went to the Nike+iPod section then at the botom there was an option to send workouts. I had pressed this before but it didn't work. It did today.
Difference today is that I'm trying from home with WiFi. Who knows, just glad its working!

Update: I seem to have fixed the problem! I went to the "summary" section of my iPod after clicking on the device on the left side of iTunes. I checked the box that allowed me to "manually manage music and videos" and applied this option. The songs are syncing! And, yay, they're playing on my iPod now! Hopefully, this helps anyone else who might have this problem. There might be other issues, but this is working for now.

I found it in the Settings, way at the bottom of the list of options. Turn it to on, and the icon appears.

Latest Run doesn't show in Nike + iPod menu, won't sync, Potential Fix

I hope this hasn't been discussed elsewhere, but I found a solution to a frequent problem I was having.

PROBLEM: After completing a workout, attempting to upload it to the nikeplus.com website doesn't work at all. Checking Preferences>iPod>Nike + iPod does not show a "latest workout". Trying the "re-sync" tricks don't work.
WHAT CAUSES THE PROBLEM: From what I have found, if you listen to a playlist that has an ampersand (&) in the playlist title, the workout won't be synced to the Nike Plus website.
I had to go in and edit the XML file and remove the ampersand, move the xml file back to the "Latest Workout" folder and sync again.
I noticed this because opening a good workout in Safari displayed all workout data while the "bad" xml file showed an error on line 12. Line 12 consisted of the playlist I played during my workout ("Shane & Shane"). Changing all instances of this to "Shane and Shane" solved the issue.

Good detective work & thanks for sharing your discovery. However, if you search for "ampersand" you will see that several people (Solstice & others) have already posted about the problems caused by having an ampersand in a playlist title.
I suppose we need a FAQ for the most common problems and fixes! It would save people from having to reinvent the wheel.

I have several questions: 1. When I connect my Iphone using Wi-Fi what can I then do? Why won't my Iphone recognize my home network run off of Airport Extreme, and the app Nike Ipod sensor never activates.

Try restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). It may not be properly assigning an IP address to your iPhone.

What is the software/firmware version and Nike+ipod problem

Mine says 1.0.1 in iTunes and says it is up to date. I tried to update the 1.2 version from June and it won't let me.
I am having problems with the Nike+ipod receiver recognizing the sensor and the Apple help says to have version 1.2.
Any thoughts. I've never used this before so I guess it is possible that the sensor is broken from the start.

Hey, i though that i have the same problem but for 2nd gen ipods you dont need the 1.2 version but the 1.0.1 that come with the ipod instaled. When you put the transmiter it works ok

Cannot sync Nike+ iPod wirelessly

Quick background:
- using an iPhone 4 running 4.2.1
- lost iTunes as it was removed from my work laptop
- use Nike+ iPod machines at the gym (think they are branded Matrix)
So here is the issue:
Before I used to connect my iPhone to my laptop, iTunes would open as would the Nike+ website which would show me my runs, timings, distance etc.
Now I don't have iTunes installed I wanted to continue to upload the information and track my runs. I did check and saw that it was possible to wirelessly do this - but no runs are displayed on my history.
Any help would be appriciated.

i recently got a new PC and i would like to sync my iphone on it. i have sen a few discussions and followed instructions and here is what i did and reached:
- i connected teh phone to the new PC
- i right clicked on teh phone on teh left menu of teh itunes as it appeared and i chose "backup" and backed up successfully
- i then right clicked again on teh same palce and chose "trasfer purchases" and that was done successfully too.
- i opened the outlook on my pc and created a new contact (this was advised to do in one of teh discussions in order to enable the contacts of the outlook and the phone to merge together)
- in the info tab, i chose to sync the contacts and teh notes (which is what i want to sync). as i clicked "sync" i was gived the option to "erase content of the phone" or "cance".
- i chose cancel. as i clicked "cancel" i was given other 2 choices, one of them is "merge the content of both outlook and phone" so i chose the merge option. and i clicked "sync"
what happened then is that the new contact that i had created on teh PC outlook, was successfully synced to teh phone. however, the contacts that i have on teh phone were not trasferred to outlook.
- i tired to reset sync history from itunes and try yo sync again, still no contacts were trasfered from the phone to the outlook.
i have an iphone 4 runing the latest ios 5.1.1
i have the latest itunes
i have windows 7 running office 2010
i need help to transfer the contacts from teh phone to the outlook and have them sync notmally together like it was with my old PC.
