Nike Sensor and Nano .

I am using the Nike Sensor and am now getting the "you have completed another 500 miles" message  on my Ipod almost daily.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  I have done a soft reset but that has not fixed it.

The recent iPod touch and iPhone models have the "receiver" built-in, but not iPod nano.  The "sensor" is the part that goes in (or on) your shoe.
You need this kit (with receiver and sensor)
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA365LL/F/Nike-iPod-Sport-Kit
When you insert the receiver into the nano's dock connector, the new functionality should become accessible on the screen.  I don't have the 6G nano, but that's how it work with my 5G nano.
The sensor that goes in (or on) your shoe is an accelerometer.  It tracks movement and speed of your foot, which is used to calculate distance and pace (pretty accurately), and it also tracks total time.  You can pause and resume your run.  You can get an audio (spoken) status of current time, pace, and distance, at any time during the run, and at the end.  You can use any completed run to better "calibrate" its measurement of distance and pace.
I wear New Balance, so my sensor goes in a little pouch that straps on the shoe lace.

  • Is new software around for Ipod Nano 5G with the Nike sensor and Polar wearlink HeartRateMonitor to get spoken feedback on heartrate-zone, so you get a warning if your heartrate is higher or lower than the predefined range.

    I have:
Ipod Nano 5G with Nike+ sensor and Polar wearlink Heartrate monitor:
works fine, linking is easy, but....
Software is rather minimal: Heartrate is on the screen and you get feedback when the center-button is touched.
To get better results, more functions would be useful, like defining a heartrate zone (like Polar`s own-zone) and automatic spoken feedback if the heartrate is out of the pre-defined range. Also automatic spoken feedback on actual and average heartrate every pre-defined time-interval would be very useful: like the spoken feedback on distance and actual pace I get on my Iphone with Nike+GPS
    Anyone have any suggestions ?

I have the same issue! I purchased a nano 6th, polar hrm so I could run and receive spoken feedback when my heart rate was outside my preset zone.  My suunto t3 used to beep when outside the preset zones.  Automatic, periodic beeps or spoken feedback is the most important information to receive during exercise. I hope apple can update the software to add this simple yet critical feature.

  • Nike+ Sensor and iPhone question

    Hello all,
I'm somewhat confused about this Nike+ Sensor and how/why it interacts with the Nike+ app. I'm really thinking about getting one of these today but I want to make sure it does what I think it does.
I play indoor football and I want to know how far I run when I play. Can I put the Nike+ sensor in my shoe, play football, plug the sensor into my iPhone after football and upload the info to my iPhone? Or would I need to carry my iPhone about for the time that I'm playing football as well?
    Thanks

  • HT1602 Can I use Nike+ sensor and a bluetooth headset simultanously???

I am planning buy a Ipod Nano for running. And I want to use a Nike+ shoe sensor and a bluetooth headset.

  • Buying Nike+ Sensor and informations.

I have a Ipod touch 2g and im interested in buying the Nike+ Sensor. There are a few questions i would like to ask. Firstly, is there any warranty for the Nike+ Sensor? Secondly, can i place the sensor in a pouch on my shoe or do i have to place it inside my shoe? Thirdly, i have heard from people saying that the sensor cannot be detected by the Ipod touch, what can i do if this happen? Thank you in advance.

I started using the Nike plus kit with my Nano a couple years ago and loved it, so I was so thrilled that the 2nd generation Touch had the receiver already installed. I tried synching it to my sensor, and when it wouldn't synch, I assumed the sensor was bad. I just received the new sensor the other day, tried to synch it, and again, it wouldn't synch. I've been searching this topic to find out if Apple is going to address this issue (which is clearly happening to many people based on the amount of posts on this forum), and I haven't yet found anything from them. I wouldn't bother with the expense of the Nike kit until they work this major bug out.
But in response to your question about where you can put the sensor, real runners know that Nike shoes just don't cut it. I run only in Asics and have for a long time. When I first bought my Nike kit, I purchased a little pouch that attached securely to my shoe (the laces go through it to hold it stable), and I never had any issue with calibration. As long as the sensor is held in place on the shoe, you should have no issues with mileage count. They sell different pouches on Amazon and most of them aren't more than $10.

  • Trouble with nike plus and nano

I am having trouble with my Nike plus and my nano staying on.  It worked for a while but now it stops recording the work out after anywhere from 1 to 24 minutes.  Any suggestions?

All the workout data would get uploaded to the Nike+ website into a single-user's data.
However, if you really don't want to buy two units, the Nike+ website does offer you the ability to "name" your workouts. So, each time you work out, the two of you could give your workouts a name that would allow to differentiate whose is whose. For instance, "His Workout #1" and "Her Workout #1," etc. The combined totals would represent both "His" and "Her" workout totals, but you could at least tell the difference between individual workouts.
    Hope this helps!

  • Nike+, Polar and Nano 6th Gen - Heart rate zone?

Can someone tell me if the heart rate zone feature will provide audible alerts when I reach my target heartrate?  Additionally does it tell you if you go above or below the range?  If not, is there a known way of doing with with a Nano or IPhone?
I'd like to ideally know I am maintaining my ideal heartrate while running, and I'm hoping this feature does this for me.  I'm trying to find out before I spend the money on the special Polar heartrate strap.
*Also, I notice you need the Nike+ receiver in the Nano, but supposedly not the sensor.  Will I still collect all my workout data in addition to the heartrate info with the sensor on the sneaker? (I know the 6th gen Nano has the built in accelerometer, I just wasn't sure if using the receiver makes the Nano think it needs the sensor too)
    Thanks!!

I had the same problem. Nothing but a complete reset fixed it. After that, no problems.
Take the battery out of the HR monitor for a 30 sec or so to reset it. Then do a wipe and reset of your Nano - back it up, reset to factory defaults, then re-sync. The HR montor shoul dbe discoverabel. Also, make sure your Nano firmware is up to date.

  • Can two people use the same Nike plus and Nano?

Or will we each need our own. My husband purchased one and I would also like to use it. We work out at different times and it would be nice not to have to purchase different units, but will it upload both or our workout information or does anyone know if we can pick which workouts to upload. Thanks!!

  • Nike + Sensor and battery

How will I know when the battery is dead? My iPod cannot connect and think it might be the battery. This kit was used with a 2nd gen iPod and now I'm trying to link it up with my 3rd gen. I've already pressed the button on the bottom of the sensor to try to wake it up. Do I have to buy a new kit?

  • Using iPod Nano with two Nike+ sensors

    Hi,
I have searched your site but cannot find any information regarding my query. I bought an Nike+ sensor and pick-up unit for our iPod nano 3rdG for my wife to use. We have one iPod, one PC and one iTunes account. This has worked great and now I want to start running. My question is if I buy another sensor and pick-up unit will the iPod store the information separately? Will iTunes be able to upload the date to a different Nike+ account? We would not be able to run together I know that. Whenever I run I'll use my sensor and pick-up unit and whenever my wife runs she will use hers. Will this be possible. Thanks

I have a ITouch and I run iTunes on a Mac.
My iTunes keeps track of two different sensors.
I go to my settings "Nike + iPod" menu and turn on and off, them I press "sensor" and link to whatever sensor I am using.
Now when I got to iTunes "Nike + iPod" it shows "sensor 1" and "sensor 2" it also allows me to edit the name of the sensors.
My question is, I want to delete one of the sensors and I don't know how

  • Can't calibrate new nike+ sensor

I just bought a new nike+ sensor and need to calibrate it. At the end of my work out, when I hit "end workout" the "calibrate run" button should show up, instead it freezes and my workout goes right into "history" and I can't calibrate it. Super annoyed!

Sorry, I posted it in the wrong place. I already re-posted in the correct nano
version board, but don't know how to delete this post.

  • New sensor and calibration

I have had to get a new sensor. I'm confused on where the calibration info is stored. Will I now have to re-calibrate with the new sensor or is that info stored on the nano from my old sensor? I'm using the same receiver that I had.

Ok - after a ton of web searching I've now figured out how to fix the multiple sensor problem - add a missed run - and correct bad data.
Unfortunately I run my itunes on a vista computer - this means that before you delve into the file structure of the ipod you have to discover and run through vista's cryptic new procedure for showing hidden files. Once this is done the only way that seems to work for seeing the new sensor is to delete the old sensor. Using the copy and past you can move these to the folders under the new sensor.
So much for the idea of having both a nano sensor and the wristband sensor unless you can get them to work with the same sensor - which I haven't succeeded with yet.
Any ideas on what to do with the fact that the best bluetooth headphones and earbuds either use the sensor jack on the ipod or the nike+ sensor and bluetooth 3.5mm jack won't fit in the same nano at the same time? I have the logitech and jay bird models and both require adaptors to work with t nano.
I guess the solution will be an ipod that recognizes bluetooth on it's own but then we'll have the headache of figuring out how to get the technologies to work together - it would be nice if this stuff would just work without having to become computer programmers.

  • Just bought a Nike + Sensor.

    Hi
I've just bought a Nike + Sensor and have a iphone 3G (not the 3GS) and ipod touch (1st Gen). How do I get it to work with these 2 as I have tried everything ?
    Thanks
    Chestnutgirl2000

Just for info: i got the Nike+ sensor thing about a year ago and threw it in the trash after i tried the Run Keeper app - Run Keeper uses the GPS for tracking, is more accurate, and is better all around. there is a free and paid version..

  • I can't calibrate my Nike+ sensor with my iPod 2G

I've just bought a nike+ sensor and there is a huge discrepancy in the distance given after my workouts (always is lower) with the real runned distance. I have tryed to calibrate several times (with 400m, 1Km, 1,2km) but it always say that I have not runned the distance of calibration and don't let me calibrate the sensor. Someone knows what I can do to calibrate my sensor?

Then you need to deauthorize another computer so you can authorize this one. If yo do not have the computers to deauthorize then yo can deauthorize all (you can only do that once every 12 months) and then authorize this one.
