Nike+ software not shuffling playlist during runs!

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I have repeatedly tried to create an iTunes/iPod playlist specifically to use when running with my iPhone and my Nike+ shoes. It's called "Running Mix" and is set to shuffle on both the MacBook Pro and on my iPhone itself. Problem is, when I start a workout and use this playlist, it doesn't shuffle the songs at all. It plays them in order. I cannot figure out why the Nike+ software isn't shuffling the songs in the playlist. Any help? Any ideas? Surely I must be doing something wrong.
Thanks, Jason

Nike+ and the iPod functionality of your 3Gs are both apps which are capable of running in the background, per se. Start your iPod app, shuffle the playlist of your choice and THEN start the Nike+ app. When you get into your workout, select "now playing." This will stick with your shuffled songs.
Further, you can hit the home button and start an app like "Couch to 5k" or C25k and have it prompt you for certain phases of your workout.

  • Nike+ software not playing my specified playlist since upgrade

Since I upgraded to iTunes 9 and ITouch 3.1 Nike+ doesn't play my specified 'running' playlist even if I program it to.
It only plays one playlist ('Mellow Music'! Not good for running)!
There seems to be no way to change it as it always defaults to Mellow playlist every time even if I create a new workout.
    Anyone have any idea?

I just had the same problem yesterday when starting my run. It will only play my "top 25 most played" playlist...which happens to be terrible for running. To get around it I:
    1) exit Nike+
    2) start playing desired playlist in iPod
    3) return to Nike+ and select "now playing" as your choice of playlist
worked for me but I lost the voiceback features (not sure if this is permanent). I use a bluetooth headsets to run and this glitch has happened before, quite annoying. Good luck

  • Shuffle/Not Shuffle Playlist Songs

Is there any way to have a specific playlist NOT shuffle it's songs, but still have other playlists shuffle ?

You cannot set them independently, as in iTunes.
You have to turn off Settings - Shuffle and then play the playlist.

  • Can Not Shuffle Playlist

I just got this ipod and can not shuffle the playlist I am listening to. I dug up some info on this and read I need to go to settings and make sure that it is shuffle songs and not albums for my playlist to shuffle. BUT, the only option in settings is for Shuffle Songs and when I choose that it jumps out of playlist and to the main category of playing (shuffling) all music on my ipod. Wassup with this.

    Hi thall89553!
I'm not sure what exactly is going wrong here... but how about I go ahead and to a step-by-step procedure here on how to shuffle a specific playlist:
1 - From the Main Menu on your iPod, go to "Settings > Shuffle".
2 - Verify that this is selected to "Songs", but "Off", or "Albums".
3 - Then, click on the "Menu" button a couple of times to reach the Main Menu on your iPod again.
    4 - Go to "Music > Playlists".
5 - Now, don't click on the playlist that you want to shuffle, simply highlight it.
6 - Then, with the playlist highlighted, press the Play/Pause button on your iPod.
After following those steps, your iPod ought to begin shuffling the playlist that you had highlighted.
If something different than this happens, then please post back, and describe how the iPod acts when you attempt to do this.

  • Nike+ on Touch Ignores Playlist Choice - Goes to One Specifc Always

When I create and save a Nike+ "My Workouts" workout on my iPod Touch, I select my "Exercise" playlist. However, when I then select that workout to exercise with, it aways brings up the wrong playlist. It is always the same playlist, too - no matter how many times I delete and recreate my workout. It's like that playlist is the Nike+ software's favorite playlist.
I even took all lf the playlists off my iPod, except my "Exercise" playlist, and re-created my workout. As long as it is the only playlist, Nike+ starts to play it, but when I put my other playlists back onto my iPod Touch, Nike+ goes back to playing its own "favorite" playlist.
I do know that the playlist it selects is a Smart Playlist and the one that I want it to select, my "Exercise" playlist is not a Smart Playlist. However, I have other Smart and manual playlists on my Touch.
Any ideas on how to solve this?

This problem started for me too, right after the latest software update for the iPod touch.
I have tried rebooting, deleting playlists, etc. and nothing seems to work.

  • Shuffling a playlist during a Nike+ workout

Is it possible to shuffle a playlist during a Nike+ workout (other than using the Shake To Shuffle feature) on an iPod Nano Gen 6?  I would like be able to elect to shuffle a playlist for a workout just as your are able to shuffle a playlist from the Music icon.  If not, would it be possible to add this to the next firmware upgrade?  I have a large workout playlist, but when listen during Nike+ run, I end up listening to the same songs every time.  I'd love to be able to mix it up.

I have been runiing with a 2nd gen Nano and Nike+ for 5 years. I recently upgraded to a 6th gen Nano and had experienced the same annoying problem - lots of playlist, no way to shuffle.  The solution I figured out:
First select the playlist you want to run to in the Music icon and play with the shuffle icon
Then flip to the Fitness/Nike+ icon, (playlist should be playing/shuffling), set up your run and use "Now Playing" for your playlist.
    Get running.
Not the most elegant way, but it works.

  • How do I shuffle a playlist during a workout on an ipod nano 7th generation?

How do I shuffle a playlist during a workout on an ipod nano 7th generation?  The only shuffle option I see is for all songs, not a specific playlist.  I know that I can begin a workout using the now playing option.  This will allow me to shuffle a playlist in the begining of my workout, but if I want to change music I cannot get back into shuffle mode unless I select the shuffle all songs option.

This is from the Nike support page:
Shuffle Songs: Plays songs shuffled randomly from your music library. To shuffle a playlist rather than your entire music library, start the playlist in shuffle mode before setting up your Nike+ workout. Then, when setting up your workout preferences, select "now playing" in the Music menu.

  • Nik Software Crash: "Could not complete the Color Efex Pro 4 command because of a problem with-"

Nik Software/Photoshop Crash: "Could not complete the Color Efex Pro 4 command because of a problem with the filter module interface."  Define, Viveza work fine, the others, Color Efex, HDR Efex, Silver Efex don't.  I called Nik and they said they were familiar with this problem and that it was an Adobe problem.  They helped me uninstall and re-install the latest version of the filters.  Didn't fix the problem.  I called Adobe technical support, they confirmed that indeed it was an Adobe problem, but, they can't help me because they no longer offer support on CS5.  I'm on an iMac with Mountian Lion 10.8.5, running Photoshop CS5.1.  I searched the internet and found this problem mentioned in several places, just couldn't find the fix.  Interesting coincidence - I had been using Photoshop and the Nik software perfectly fine, even the morning of the day it began to crash.  I got a pop-up message from Adobe asking if they could anonymously monitor my usage to better their products.  I clicked on "Ask me later."  Then, my product crashed every time I tried to use the above-mentioned Nik software filters.  ???  Why would they want to monitor my usage of a product they won't/don't support anyway?  Help someone please - I really love the Nik software.  I paid top dollar for it back in the day because people like Dan Hughes actually answered your questions themselves.  The customer support was the best in the industry.  The opposite is true of Adobe, is it not?

Thank you so much Chris.  I know I'm not the only person to run into this as both Nik/Google and Adobe acknowledged this problem.  I did however try something else to try and isolate the issue further.  I tried editing with Nik/Google Color Efex & Silver Efex, etc., in Aperture, and sure enough, the Nik/Google filters wouldn't open, or they would crash Aperture.  So - it's looking like a Nik/Google problem.  They used to be so good.  The crazy thing is that I had been using Photoshop with the Nik filters just fine, even earlier that very day.  What could have gone wrong?  Was there some kind of automatic update Saturday 3/1/14?  And it was especially weird that it happened immediately after I refused to allow Adobe to (anonymously) monitor my usage.  I'll call Nik/Google back tomorrow and tell them what you've told me, as well as letting them know their filters crashed Aperture too.  I'll report back as soon as I find a fix.  I know I'm not the only one out there who's experienced this.
    Thanks again!

    Hello queenabs,
It sounds like you are trying to burn a playlist to a disc in iTunes, but you are getting the error, "disc burner or software not found."  I found a couple of resources that I think might help with an error like this.
I recommend starting with the steps in this article:
iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2308
If you are still having trouble with burning a disc after following the steps in that article, I recommend following the steps in this article:

  • I get "disc burner or software not found" when I try to burn a playlist.

I am now getting "disc burner or software not found" when I try to burn a playlist from iTunes version 10.6.1.7 on Windows 7 PC. I've not added any new burner software or made any software changes of any kind. I have NERO 8 and I checked the "burn rights" is set for "everyone".
    Is the any solution?

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • Nik Software Plug-ins not working with LR3

    Hello,
I have both LR 2.7 and LR3 running on my computer.  When I installed LR 3, it load the Nik software plug-ins into the external editor section like LR 2.7.  However, when I try to use a Nik plug-in in LR 3 I get an error message that the " File xxxxx.tif can not be opened because it does not exist or access is denied."  The Nik interface opens, then I get this error message, but then it places the xxxxx.tif file in the film strip.  The plug-ins work just fine with LR 2.7.  I've uninstalled and re-installed the plug-ins, but the same error message pops up in LR 3.  I have contacted Nik Software, but have not gotten an answer that works.  Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, what was your solution.  I've tried everything I know of except uninstalling LR 3 and re-installing.  I'm using Windows 7 64bit.  I have CS4 (32 and 64bit) and CS5 (32 and 63bit) running and the plug-ins work just fine with them.
Thanks for your help in advance!
    Dennis

    Hi Martin,
You might try going in the pref and under external editing and try to manually set up each one.  Go down to additonal external editing.  Click on Choose and then go to the folder where you have your Nik software installed and choose the program file.  There will be dialog box telling you to name the file, call it anything you want and the click ok.  Go to the drop down bar and select Save as new preset.  Close LR3 and then reopen and check to see if your program is there under the new name.  If not, you probably will have un-install all the plug-ins and re-install.  Hope this helps!

  • Nik Software Plug-Ins are not compatible with Aperture 3

After installing my upgrade to Aperture 3, I get a message when attempting to use one of my Nik Software editing plug-ins. The message says that the plug-ins are not 64-bit (they are 34-bit) and in order to run them, Aperture must close and reopen in 34-bit mode. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

    Keli
In order to open Aperture in 32-bit mode by default you can right-click on the application icon, select "Get Info" and check the box marked "Open In 32-bit Mode" (or you can continue to run it by default in 64-bit mode and just get forced to re-open the app anytime you need to use plug-ins that can only run in 32-bit mode).
    hope this helps!
