Nike+ syncing doesn't work

I had been looking into getthing the Nike+ kit for my 6th gen nano so I was really happy when the latest update removed the need for the extra hardware, and does everything natively on the nano.  However, after wasting several hours banging my head against this I have come to the conclusion that it is completely broken.  I have tried to sync from three different computers, using internet explorer and chrome.  My experience is always the same - after enabling syncing to nike+, and clicking the link to open the nike+ web site in a browser window, nothing gets transferred.  I wind up at my nike+ account with NO data.  I have tried all the "tricks" and nothing works.  Perhaps most frustratingly, there is no way to manually access the data on the nano from my computer.  It will try to sync ONCE from each computer, then never again - somehow itunes is keeping track of what it has uploaded, and will only upload it once.  I am now out of computers to experiment with, as well as being out of time.
This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.  Apple prides itself on making stuff that "just works", but this just doesn't.  The complete lack of access to my data means I am at the mercy of itunes, which only lets me upload data once.  This doesn't make any sense.  Apple, you could have done a lot better with this one.  The only good news is that I didn't waste my money on extra hardware.

This is actually a common discussion on the Nike site. The problem is apparently with the servers on Nikes end. It is an issue with all kinds of devices talking to the nike site.

  • IPhone/iTunes Wifi sync doesn't work

    Hi guys,
    I don't even have hope to solve this problem anymore but I guess I should post this anyway and show apple the crap software they're giving us.
    I'm on Lion 10.7.4 (iTunes 10.6.1) and, after upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1, my Wifi sync with iTunes stopped working. Out of nowhere. Looking for an answer I started digging on apple foruns and found out there are dozens of threads discussing the problem and literally hundreds of possible solutions. I've tried the following:
    - Restart iTunes and iPhone (full power cycle).
    - Check the "Sync over Wifi" option on iTunes when iPhone is connected using cable
    - Uncheck the "Block iPhone, iPod and iPad from automatically sync" on iTunes > preferences > devices.
    - Restart Router
    - Reinstalling iTunes
    - Restore iPhone
    - Move to trash "com.apple.iTunes" and "MobileDevices.framework" files. Restart Mac after.
    - Make Airport on Mac and iPhone forget the saved networks and reconfig them
    - Open ports on router 123 (all), 3689 (TCP) and 5353 (UDP)
    - Disable and enable uPnP on router
    - Install Remote app
    - Use "Release Liase" option on iPhone under Settings > General > Network > Wifi > Blue Arrow
    NONE solved it. I gave up. Apple *****.
    Interesting behaviours:
    - Remote app doesn't work at all. I can't use it under Home Sharing or that code thing. My phone and Mac simple can't see each other anymore.
    - iPhone conects fine using cable. Everything is working and, when I pull out the cable, iPhone vanish from the list. Even with the Wifi option enabled.
    So, if any of you can solve it, you will have a place in heaven. And in Apple developing team, probably.

    As I suspected, none of the previous solutions worked. I strongly believe this is some crap in iOS 5.1.1 OR iTunes 10.6.1. More precisely: this is APPLE fault, not something we did wrong or didn't do.
    My Wifi sync worked great before this updates (Lion 10.7.2 and iOS 5.0). I can't isolate the problem because I did both updates in less than 24h from one another. Now I'm back to cable and I think I'll still be until Mountain Lion is out.
    @rodrigonewtonI sent apple my feedback. Basically everything I wrote here. And I can't connect bluetooth either. Luckily I barely use bluetooth on my Mac.
    @ou812ManySushi Lucky you! I'd already tried this without success. What is your iTunes and iOS?
    @joejohns90 Doesn't work here, the option is ALWAYS greyed, waiting for my Mac to do something. The only way the "sync over Wifi" button work is pluging the cable. Ironic, isn't it?

  • Photo sync doesn't work.

    Hi, I'm using iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1 and Windows7 computer.
    I took a trip somewhere, took picture (JPG files) with digital camera (Canon DIGITAL IXUS 110 IS) , and I want to send photos to my iPhone.
    But It doesn't work. And no error codes. Just iPhone says some photos cannot be synced.
    When I start syncing, syncing speed getting slower and iTunes stops syncing photos at some points. For example, it stops syncing after sync 51 photos. sometimes 40, 60...
    But I want to sync many many many photos. over 1000 photos
    I looked over this site and deleted iPod Photo Cache folder, but it doesn't solve my problem.
    I looked in iPod Photo Cache folder and I found .ithmb files are almost 0byte, except 51 .ithmb files if iTunes synced 51 photos successfully.
    So, I think there is something wrong at iTunes makes .ithmb files.
    PLEASE HELP ME!
    P.S. I also have changed directory, but it also didn't solve my problem.

    It seems to be size related as far as I can tell; I've had no issue getting 2592x1944 pictures (typically around or under 2Mb each) to sync but photos from a newer camera shot at 5184x3456 (usually around 5-6 Mb) won't. I was going to play around with resizing some of my library but haven't gotten around to it yet.

    Since the last iOS update the photo sync in iTunes doesn't work. One event will be shown as many in iTunes, each with only a few photos or even just one in it. In iPhoto all events are ok.

  • C7 sync doesn't work after Anna update

    I normally sync the agenda between outlook 2003 and C7 with Ovi-suite.
    After update to symbian Anna it doesn't work.
    Strange is that Ovi suite gives the number of events that did not sync.
    So he can recognize them, but can't sync.
    Any solutions?

    I have the same problem in C6-01 after Anna Update, there are another two posts around here with other people with the same issue, an, believe it or not, no answer from Nokia
    My problem also affects Ovi Maps favourites. I just could update them once since Anna Update, and now that is failed too

  • Bookmark sync doesn't work

    I use iCloud to sync bookmarks between Chrome on Windows and Safari on iPad. It had worked normally until I changed my apple ID (email address) about two weeks ago.
    Then bookmarks won't sync. Safari always shows the last revision of bookmarks before apple id was changed.
    I have tried disabling and re-enabling bookmark sync on windows, re-login to iCloud on iPad and many kinds of troubleshooting attempts, but it still doesn't go back to normal.
    Could someone shed some light?

    Try the following:
    # Create a copy of that file
    # Change the copied file type to HTML
    # If that doesn't work, change it to JSON
    Please upload the file somewhere if the above doesn't work and I will see what I can do with it.

    I've installed iTunes 7.2 under Vista Home Premium. I use the manual sync for my iPod video because I use the iPod with different PCs.
    Manual sync of podcasts (drag & drop) doesn't work under Vista. iTunes crashes.. Any ideas?

    A reset of the data on .Mac resolved the issue. Must have been a fluke.

    I upgraded to OVI Suite from PC Suite and like some features but Calendar and Notes doesn't work anymore. I use Outlook 2003 on Windows 7. Here is my system information from OVI Suite:

    I'm having the same problem.  I have an e71 that connects using BT and I can't get it to sync the calendar and tasks, notes, or bookmarks.  It's super frustrating.  Here's my info, any solutions would be much appreciated:

    The phone software is the latest, according to the Ovi Suite.  When I click on "Sync -> Sync Now" the options for Calendar and Tasks, Bookmarks and Notes is disabled (I can sync all the other functions like contacts, messages and music.
    HELP NOKIA.  If I can't get this working, my company will force me to get a Crapberry.

    after updating to iOS 8.0.2 on an iphone 5S the itunes syncing with an USB cable doesn't work anymore. A message is listed to "authorize" this computer, but it is already authorized. The iPhone isn't listed in the devices list with this itunes account either.

    Try this on one device to test.
    Tap Settings > Safari then tap to clear History, Cookies, & Data then reset.
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Then try writing a post in ASC discusions.

    Check router settings (tried default settings and reset also)
    Check everything in iTunes
    Connect to different wifi
    Upgrade my MacBook Air to Mountain Lion (1.0.8.0)
    ....etc.
    I have everything latest, I read almost everything about it, tried tweaks, but none of this doesn't work.
    When I've got my iPhone connected to Mac through USB with wifi enabled, sync work well...
    Everything worked fine all the time and from day to another it doesn't work anymore.
    It's a pain in the ***, I have already lost my mind. Nothing work.

    I probably do not understand your question. But try this, maybe this is what you want. Try iCloud on your iPhone.
    Tap Settings App > Wi-Fi > turn it ON. Then go back to Settings and below General tap > iCloud. Make sure your account is there, turn ON what you like and then at bottom select Storage & Backup. Hopefully this will help you.

  • Wi-fi sync doesn't work all the time

    This has been an issue for me ever since wi-fi sync was introduced. My setup is all-Apple: iOS devices, Mac, Airport Extreme router.
    I have successuflly set up for wi-fi sync, and it works. The problem is that quite often the device and iTunes don't find each other. I click on the device in the list, click the "Sync" button, iTunes says it's "looking for..." and eventually gives up and removes the device from the list. At this point, it usually requires restarting iTunes AND the device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch) to get things going again.
    One theory I have is that I would often take a device with me without ejecting it from iTunes, and then when I return they don't reconnect. However, even when I do remember to eject the device before taking it out of range, it's no guarantee.
    Any ideas?

    I have the same issue, it works for a while then won't work hardly at all. Then start working again. I wish it would just work like it supposed too. I hear it has trouble with wet or clamy hands but mine are rarely like that. I do work outside with my hands and the are kind of tough and callused up. I wonder if that effects it some. Anyway let me know if you figure out how to make it work reliably

    I have iOS 6 and both my iPod and Mac are connected to the iCloud account. Any ideas why it doesn't work? The iCloud icon keeps saying the infamous "iCloud automatically shows all the ....."  But nothing pops up. I have Safari open on my iPod with 5 tabs. Has anyone had a similar problem, or is it just me? haha

    I was researching the issue you are describing, and have some ideas for things for you to try. First I First from our would turn off Safari in Settings>iCloud, then back on. I recommend choosing to keep safari data on your phone when you turn it off, it will prompt you. If that doesnt make the icloud tabs act correctly, then from our iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1 I would try sections 1, 3, and 5.
    Here is section one to get you started.
    Restart iPhone
    To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
    Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.
    When you get to section 3, I recommend closing ALL the apps.

    I updated to the new iTunes 7.6 yesterday and found out that calendar sync didn't work. I tried everything that is suggested by the Apple.com support web site. None worked. I didn't have any problem with my calendar with iTunes 7.5. I hope Apple could resolve this issue ASAP as I need my work calendar be synced on my iPhone.

    Hi, I just bought my iPhone a couple of days ago and am having the same problems.
    I have a Macbook at home, but need to be able to sync with my work computer for contacts and calendar. At work I'm running on Windows XP Pro SP 2 and MS Outlook 2003 SP 3. I've made sure to update all MS software. I'm running on iPhone 1.1.3 and iTunes 7.6.
    My contacts sync fine, but, so far, no luck with my calendar. I've gone through the trouble of completely deleting everything off my calendar and am trying "test" appointments to no avail. What's really frustrating is that I've logged out of my ID on this computer and logged in using a test ID. I can successfully sync a test appointment following those steps.
    Tech support tells me that since I'm successful under those conditions, it must be a corrupt entry on my main calendar. But, as I've mentioned, I deleted everything I can find off my main calendar and am still not able to get it to sync successfully.
    This is quite frustrating.
