Nikon Coolpix 4600 supported?

I'm looking to get a digital camera for my mom for xmas. She's running Tiger but the Nikon 4600 I'm looking is not on the supported list. Anyone have one of these cameras and if so does it work with Tiger and iPhoto 5?
Thanks.

Blur warning is usually based on current shutter speed and focal length.  It is just a warning, ignore it if you're tripod mounted or have it sitting on a solid object.
If you want it to go away, add more light to your scene, crank up the ISO sensitivity (pictures will become noisy though), or go outside in sunlight.

  • What happened to Nikon Coolpix 7900 support?

  • Nikon Coolpix 4600 blur warning

I have a nikon coolpix camera that always has the blur warning showing.  I cannot find anything online that gives any troubleshooting help for this warning and I cannot get it to turn off.  The warning flashes even if I have the camera sitting on a stationary object, such as a table.  Any ideas on how to get rid of the message?

  • Nikon Coolpix 990 not supported in iPhoto 11 v9.4.2 on OS x 10.8.2

I am running Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard in separate partitions on the same iMac(Intel i3).  I can import photos from my Nikon Coolpix 990 camera using iPhoto 11 v 9.2.3 running on Snow Leopard.  I cannot import photos when running iPhoto 11 v 0.4.2 on Mountain Lion.  The camera shows up in the USB section of the system report.  Is anyone aware of this problem and how to fix it?

I removed my photos and formatted the camera's flash card but it didn't help.  I spent an hour on the phone with Apple and they couldn't resolve the issue either.  The support person is forwarding the problem to Apple engineering.
    Thank you for your suggestions.

  • Uploading from Nikon Coolpix S01

Can you transfer photos from a Nikon Coolpix S01to iPad 2? My daughter got one as a present and gets the dreaded "device uses too much power" message. We've tried advice in old forums to switch off on 'computer charge' on camera but still no luck.  Any suggestions please.

This is the same problem I am having.  I contacted Apple support with no help.  I contacted Nikon, as well, to see if the iPad photo kit would support this Nikon s01, and they had no clue.  This is very frustrating.  The connection kit and camera would download on my iMac using iPhoto, so I suspect there is a problem with the iPad connection.  I fully charged camera and the same error cones up.  Can anyone get this to work?

  • Nikon Coolpix 5700

I currently have Lightroom 4.3 and would like to edit some Jpeg photo's that I shot with my Nikon Coolpix 5700.  This particular camera does not appear in the drop-down list within the "Lens Correction" section.  Is there a way to import the lens profile for this camera?  Alternativly, is there an equivalent Nikon camera/lens profile that I could use in its place?
    Thanks,

    Jim,
You could find the camera lens support for your lens from the documentation as below if the lens is not part of the list the behaviour is also explained in the document below:

Try this: set your iPod in the hard disk mode (you can do this by connecting the iPod to your computer and then set it in this mode.

  • Digital camera Nikon CoolPix AW-120

Looking to purchase the Nikon CoolPix AW-120,  Would like to know if it is supported by OS X Yosemite.  I did check a list of cameras supported but did not see this particular one.  Wanted to know if anyone had one and was able to use it with Yosemite.

If the camera is not on this list, the RAW format is not supported:
OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support
You will need to develop the RAW in the software, that comes with the camera and convert it to a supported format, TIFF or PSD.

  • Nikon Coolpix P2

Does anyone know if the Nikon Coolpix P2 is compatible with iPhoto? It isn't listed with the compatible cameras but I know that there are compatible cameras that aren't listed.

    Julie,
I am 99% sure it will be compatible. If you go to Nikon's website and dig around, you can find the page that describes their software:
    http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bin/nikonusa.cfg/php/enduser/stdadp.php?p_faqid=61&p_created=1029180813&p_sid=BR_kNovi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=& p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD0xMDk2JnBfcHJvZHM9JnB fY2F0cz0mcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0mcF9zZWFyY2hfdHlwZT1hbnN3ZXJzLnNlYXJjaF9ubCZwX3BhZ2U9MQ* *&p_li=&ptopview=1
Every software product they list has a Mac version. That's a very good sign. They even let you download it from their website, so you can try it out. The specs for your camera say it comes with Picture Project. I had a Nikon 2 years ago, and Picture Project did work in my Mac.
On the othere hand, if you like using iPhoto, chances are that the camera's included software will be of little use. Many people don't bother installing it at all. You can try connecting the camera with the USB to see if the Mac recognizes it and import from it. If it doesn't work without software, then install the software or use a card reader. Remember, Nikon says it IS Mac compatible. It might even have some decent editing capabilities, or some cute templates for greeting cards and such.
If this is the only thing keeping you from buying the camera, then I'd say it's a safe bet to go ahead and buy it.

  • As of a few days ago, I can no longer import photos from my Nikon Coolpix s7c into iPhoto. Never before had a problem. (it is the version prior to iPhoto 11--all Apple software is UTD)

As of a few days ago, I can no longer import photos from my Nikon Coolpix s7c into iPhoto '08. Never before had a problem.  I sent a request to Nikon for help and they referred me back to Apple.  Help, if possible, please.

As the photos imported to the test library you know that it works with your version of iPhoto (so, you can skip the paranoia about Apple making you upgrade). The issue then is the Library, so
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • HT4101 I have a NIKON COOLPIX P500 but am unable to download photos through the IPad camera connection kit. I have tried to use the Sandisk card also - no result. Any suggestions? The Ipad does not "see" the card or camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 but am unable to download photos from it to my iPad2 via the iPad Camera Connection kit. The iPad does not see either the Sandisk 8GB card or the Nikon camera. I have turned the camera on, but it seems that the camera just want to recharge its battery through the iPad as the iPad states that the devices draws too much power?? Anybodu solved this problem yet? Advise please?

One thing to check is the format that the camera is saving pics to the card in. Many are selectable and, in most cases, if PTP is one of the options then you need to have that one selected for the files to be visible to iOS and the CCK (connection kit).
Another thing which sometimes comes up, especially with older cameras and therefore probably not with yours, is the filenaming conventions used by the camera. iOS is quite strict about what it expects to see and if files are being stored with unsupported name formats then they simply won't be seen at all.
