Nikon D300 & new iPad camera connection kit?

Hi all,
I have been searching for the solution to this but to no avail. I am hoping to hear from anyone that uses D300 and succeed transfering photos to iPad via USB CCKit.
I could find in discussions that it worked very well before iOS4.3, then no more news or info after the update. It is known that there have been many issues after the iOS update.
I appreciate the help, thanks in advance.
Cheers

oh well, i bought it anyway
we have heard that SD cards works fine.
now I'm saying that it works with the USB interface as well (DSLR).
Connect USB cable to adapter, connect adapter to iPad, connect to DSLR, switch on DSLR. Select and transfer. Delete after import (optional)
new iPad iOS 5.1
Nikon D300
Mass storage usb setting on DSLR (though manual says use TTP)
side note:
though i can retain quality etc in iPad, haven't found a way to share (eg.facebook) it anywhere with high quality.

  • HT4236 Have ipad2 & iPad camera connection kit - still doesn't download photos on SD card

Plugged in SD card from camera to a newly purchased ipad2 via the new iPad camera connection kit and it will not download these photos. Tried the same on a friends ipad2 and it works fine. Do I need to download a new app or just update the photo booth that I already have?

It doesn't go into photobooth. WHen you plug in the CCK and SD card it should open the photos app all on its own, open the card and then there'll be the select dialogue where you tap on the photos you want to import.
Try resetting your iPad. Hold down the home and sleep keys, past when you see the red slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
Since it works on another ipad, you know there's photos on the card and they're formatted right, along with the CCK working, so the issue must be your iPad. Sometimes there's a glitch and resetting helps that.

  • HT4101 I have a NIKON COOLPIX P500 but am unable to download photos through the IPad camera connection kit. I have tried to use the Sandisk card also - no result. Any suggestions? The Ipad does not "see" the card or camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 but am unable to download photos from it to my iPad2 via the iPad Camera Connection kit. The iPad does not see either the Sandisk 8GB card or the Nikon camera. I have turned the camera on, but it seems that the camera just want to recharge its battery through the iPad as the iPad states that the devices draws too much power?? Anybodu solved this problem yet? Advise please?

One thing to check is the format that the camera is saving pics to the card in. Many are selectable and, in most cases, if PTP is one of the options then you need to have that one selected for the files to be visible to iOS and the CCK (connection kit).
Another thing which sometimes comes up, especially with older cameras and therefore probably not with yours, is the filenaming conventions used by the camera. iOS is quite strict about what it expects to see and if files are being stored with unsupported name formats then they simply won't be seen at all.

  • IPad camera connection kit is working on ios 6.1.3 or no?

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find an answer to this question
Is iPad camera connection kit working on the new update iOS 6.1.3?
I need to know this kinda urgent now, because my iPad has been acting really weird, but I hadn't update yet, because I'm scared my camera connection kit won't work anymore, and I need it alot because I work with cameras.
Anyone who already update and the camera connection kit still working? Please
I have an iPad 2 currently iOS 6
    Have a great day!

Works on my iPad 2 also. I transfer pics/videos using an SDHC card and also using a USB flash drive.
To use a flash drive, Plug the  flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • RAW picture previews loading extremely slow since IOS 8 using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit

    Hi all
First, sorry for my poor english, I hope you understand my problem.
Device is iPad Air Wi-Fi with IOS 8.
I just realized this issue yesterday. I wanted to import some of my RAW pictures from my Nikon camera's SD card, using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit. In the Photos app / Import tab, the RAW picture previews show extremely slow. It takes a second to show each photo preview before import. A second for every single picture preview
For example, if you have 500 pictures on your SD card, and you want to import pictures from this card but just some selected, then you need to wait for an overview preview a lot of minutes. On IOS 7 this process was maybe 10 seconds for all of the pictures...

Same problem here. As a professional wedding photographer, sifting through my photos while on the go is the reason for me purchasing the iPad (Retina) 2 years ago, I now have an $800 paperweight after iOS8.x.x. Apple, if you actually read these, please inform your engineers to fix this in the next update or at least provide us with a solution to return to iOS7.x.x. Makes me wonder if there is any QA or testing that goes on before an update is released. As an FYI, here's my thread from a few weeks ago: Native Photos App, Slow... No, I mean really slow.

  • HT202037 Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit: Videos showing up green.

I bought the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit, the SD card one, and I can import pictures and videos to my Ipad and the pictures turn out just fine but some of the videos show up green and they won't play. I have the iPad mini and its on iOS 8.1.2 and the camera I am using is a Nikon 1 S1 model. Is there a way to get the videos to show up correctly and work?

It is likely that the Nikon shoots in a video format that the iPad does not support.

  • HT4101 Does the Ipad camera connection  kit work with the Ipad 4 and if not is there an adapter?

Does the IPad camera connection kit work with the Ipad 4 and /or is the an adapter ?

You want the newer Lightning to USB Camera Adaptor.

The old Camera Connection Kit also works and I use it on my iPad 4, however, to use this your will need the Lightning to 30 pin adaptor.

My New lightning camera connection kit is not recognised since I updated my iPad

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • I don't have a wireless printer, and want to print things off of my iPad.  I know that I can use the iPad Camera Connection kit to connect USB devices like keyboards and I am wondering if I could do the same with a USB printer.

I don't think you can connect a printer since you won't have the printer drivers. I use FingerPrint from collobos.com to print to my non-AirPrint printers.

  • Why does Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit no longer work with iOS8

Why does Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit no longer work with iOS8?

The kit is firmly inserted in thhe iPad's dock ? You could also try a reset and see if it's recognised after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
I haven't had problems using the kit with SD cards from Canon cameras . What capacity is the card, and it's an SD or SDHC card - if it's an SDXC card that's formatted as ExFAT then it won't be recognised

  • IPad Camera Connection Kit doesn't work

Some time ago I ordered from the Apple Store an iPad Camera Connection Kit.
This morning, when testing it, the following happens :
    - SD card reader : when testing the SD card reader with the card from our camera, the message below is displayed :
         "Contents not available
Cannot read the connected storage media"
Strange, as the camera has taken hundreds of pictures, and when checking the card on my MBA I can access the card's subfolders without any problem.
    - USB camera connector :This works well (with the same card as mentioned above plugged into the camera).
Does anyone have experience with the SD card reader ?
    Thanks.
Note : in the iPad Camera Connection Kit documentation, reference is made to the iPad user guide. However, that user guide, a circular reference is made to the connection kit documentation.

Is the SD card one that was formatted by your camera? In order for the CCK to read the card, all the photos need to be in a directory name DCIM and they need to have 8-character file names. This is the way digital cameras generally format things. However, if you put the photos on the card yourself, you might have done it differently.
I use the SD card reader quite a bit as it's easier for me than keeping track of yet another cable. Once or twice, my iPad didn't see it. A reset of the iPad fixed that. Press and hold the Home button and the power button until the silver apple appears.

  • I recently got a iPad camera connection kit hoping to directly download my photos from the memory card for my camera, a Sony Cybershot. When I put my memory card in the adapter and plug it in to the iPad nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

I recently purchased an iPad camera connection kit hoping to directly download pictures from my camera to my iPad. When I put my memory card into the adapter and plug it in to my iPad nothing happens.  My camera is a Sony Cybershot and the memory card is a Sony memory stick PRO duo 512 mb.  I don't think I am doing anything incorrect.  Is my camera/memory card incompatible with this adapter?

The Camera Connection Kit works with SD cards, not Memory Sticks.
Maybe you can find an MS to SD adapter, or use the USB connection with the USB cable that came with the camera.

  • Buying "apple iPad camera connection kit" HELP

If I brought the "apple iPad camera connection kit" which includes (a SD card port and a USB port) . And I use it on my iPad 2 can I plug in a USB memory stick in the USB pot on one of the connections in the kit, and transfer images from my iPad to the memory stick?
    Please help me!!!!!!!!
    Many thanks :)

No you can't.  The camera connection kit is a one way device, which will only let you download pictures from a memory card to your iPad.  You can not then upload them to a memory stick from iPad.
