Nikon D4 support

When will Elements 9 get D4 support?
Thanks.

Not likely at this point, however you can use the 7.1 dng convertor to convert your D4 files to dng copies which will then open in pse 9.

  • Is the Nikon D5500 supported with Adobe Lightroom 4.4?

Is the Nikon D5500 supported with Adobe Lightroom 4.4? Thank you.

No it isn't. In fact, it isn't supported by ANY version of Lightroom at this time. DNG converter 8.8 supports the model, and you can use it to create DNG copies that can be used in Lightroom 4.4. But the D5500 will never be supported in Lightroom 4.4. Support will probably come in the next update or upgrade.

  • When will come the new raw version update for Adobe Lightroom 4 with Nikon D750 support?

    Hello Adobe,
When will come the new raw version update for Adobe Lightroom 4 with Nikon D750 support?
    Best regards
    Frank

There won't be an update for Lightroom 4. The only way you can work with your D750 raw files is to use the free standalone DNG converter to create DNG copies. If you want to be able to work on the NEF files then you will have to upgrade to Lightroom 5. Lightroom does not use the Camera Raw plug-in. Everything is part of the Lightroom program. If you want to stay current with Lightroom then you need to follow the update/upgrade path. That means purchasing each new major version of Lightroom or subscribing to the creative cloud plan.

  • Please go on and Nikon D800E Support

With my first message here I want to encourage the developers of Apple Aperture:
Please go on making Aperture even better.
Aperture was my reason to switch to Mac. This was exactly 5 years before in April 2007 and I never ever regretted this big step. Aperture was a great tool and it remains a great tool. Being a professional photographer I passed during these 5 years about 750.000 images through Aperture and keep about 100.000 in my main database. All works without any big problem for these 5 years now. I love its perfect control layout for quick and precise work with big amounts of files. For me it is a perfect solution.
All main upgrades brought huge improvements. So please: Dear Apple Aperture developers, give us an Aperture 4.0 - we all wait for it. No need to hurry from my perspective. But I would love to be amazed by new features. My most missed tool is an automated lens corrections. For me this is the only real advantage of lightroom or DXO. For me the biggest step would be an integration of the DXO lens correction itself or the ptlens engine.
Okay and now one urgent petition:
Please add RAW support for the Nikon D800E quickly. This camera is the ultimate tool. The best camera I ever owned. Far ahead each other camera except the D800. The E is somehow exotic because of the lack of the anti-aliasing filter, but believe me: Many many professionals will buy it and many many amateur landscape photographers.
    Thank you
    wolframs

I'd be quite surprised is Apple doesn't soon add the D800/e to the list of compatible cameras, but, of course, I don't know.  I do know that if you want to have a chance of having your request heard by Apple, you must use the channel Apple provides for feedback:  "Aperture→Provide Aperture Feedback".
Enjoy your camera  .  And the 450-page printed manual.  Yikes.

  • Nikon d7000 support

I wonder if Camera Raw will support the new Nikon d7000 camera sometime soon? How does one find out? I just got one and always shoot in RAW mode but now I can't open any photos unless I install Nikon's software which I will not do.

You can use the DNG converter until ACR is updated to cover the D7000.
Check in the  Camera Raw forum.

  • Nikon D60 support?

    Hi,
just got a demo Nikon D60, did some NEF shots, but Lightroom 1.3 doesn't recognize them?
So Lightroom 1.3 DOESN'T (yet) support the Nikon D60 files or am I missing something?
I can open them in CS3 Bridge.
    TIA,
    Mat

The update should be relatively soon, but if you are counting on it within a week to complete a review you may get a reality check. Adobe updates camera support in ACR about 4 times a year, but not on an absolute schedule as I recall. That is quite reasonable, as the industry goes.
There is always the Nikon software, which will do a decent but slow job converting to Tifs, which you can then use virtually anywhere.

  • Nikon D810 support for lightroom 4.4 ?

I just installed an update to Lightroom 4.4 and it seems like the Nikon D810 is still not supported. Is this correct? I'm trying to shoot tethered.
    Thanks

Don't you think Adobe could just add the camera support via updates to previous versions of Lightroom?
I am NOT an Adobe defender/fan-boy, but I fully support Adobe's policy to NOT maintain legacy versions of Lightroom software - somebody has to pay for that, and it ain't the people not upgrading who do..
If you really want to read newer raws using older software you can convert them to DNG (converter is free) - tethering support not included.. You can tether with older Lr software using non-Lr tethering software and auto-import in Lr, although I recommend upgrading instead (or also..).
How much was that D810? - how much is an Lr upgrade?

  • Nikon D80 support in iPhoto

    Hi all
Anyone got any idea how long it will be befor Apple releases an update to iPhoto which supports the new Nikon D80 RAW files.
    With thanks...

I think they update the camera's supported every update. Keep checking Software Updater to see if an update is avaliable.

  • Nikon D40 Support?

Anyone have any suggestions as to whether the Nikon D40 RAW format can be used by Aperture? I've read about the config file hacks for unsupported RAW formats and am wondering if the sensor in the D40 is similar to the D50 or D80. Any thoughts?
Any speculation as to when Aperture might natively support this camera?
    Thanks!

There are several ways to do this. If you are familiar with VI you can use it to make the change to individual files. open the file in VI, hit :, type %s/D40/D70/g <enter> then save the file.
If you want to change all of the files in a directory, you can write a simple shell script to do it.
    For example:
    echo "%s/D40/D70/g" >> tmpscrpt
    echo "write" >> tmpscrpt
    echo "quit" >> tmpscrpt
    for file in *.NEF; do
    vim -e -s $file < tmpscrpt
    done
    rm -fr tmpscrpt
This will run vi in executable mode and perform the search (for D40)/replace (with D70) and then save the file using the same file name. To change the files back when D40 support is finally added, change the first line to:
    echo "%s/D70/D40/g" >> tmpscrpt
If you are familiar with Automator, you can use it to create a workflow that prompts you for the files you would like converted using finder, and have them changed. Add the "Ask for Finder Items" task, then pass the results into a "Run Shell Script" task. The shell script would be slightly different to take the Finder results:
    cd
    echo "%s/D40/D70/g" >> tmpscrpt
    echo "write" >> tmpscrpt
    echo "quit" >> tmpscrpt
    for f in "$@"
    do
    vim -e -s $f < tmpscrpt
    done
    rm -fr tmpscrpt
Once I do any of the above on a RAW D40 image, the image works fine with Aperture, IPhoto, Preview, etc.
As usual, PLEASE test this on files you are willing to sacrifice before trying on any master files you want to keep. If you are not familiar with the shell, scripting, Automator, or are generally uncomfortable with making ANY changes to your raw images, do not do this. Please wait for the official update from Apple.
I talked to several people at Nikon, and Apple at Macworld this week, and did not get an answer on when it might be fixed. Being impatient, I did all three of the above, and am quite happy with the Automator worklow solution.
Also, I do not profess to be a professional scripter. If anyone has a better way to do this, please jump in. I found a method that works for me, but I am always open to better options.
And last, many thanks to Brian C Toth for his post regarding the Hex change working. This was the spark I needed to get this working.

  • No Nikon D300 Support in Aperture?

I installed OS 10.5.2 and then tried to import some Nikon D300 Compressed Raw files into Aperture. They will not work! After import it says "unsupported format." What am I doing wrong?
    Kevin

Same issue with Nikon D3. I installed the Leopard Graphics update after the 10.5.2 update but still got "Unsupported Format" If Aperture is truly targeted at a "Professional" market, then it should support professional cameras in a timely fashion. I am revisiting my workflow decision.

  • Nikon RAW Support

Anyone know when Apple will include support for the Nikon D300s RAW files? Seems odd that I can import from D700 and D200 but not the D300s which replaced the D200

No one knows when - or even if - Apple will add support for any camera.
Let them know you want it:
iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback
Seems odd that I can import from D700 and D200 but not the D300s which replaced the D200
Not so odd when you consider that the D200 and D700 have been around for a long time and the D300s only started shipping when? A couple of weeks ago?\

  • Nikon D700 support question

How long will Adobe Photoshop or Light Room continue to support the Nikon D700?

Once a camera model is supported by a new version of ACR or Lr, it will continue to be supported in all succeeding versions.

  • Nikon D700 Support

My apologies up front as I am sure this topic has been covered in the forum, but I can not locate. Can Aperture be updated to support new formats (D700 in my case) or must we wait for the new Leopard release? Feel free to provide the link if there is a thread addressing this issue. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I just got the D700. put on the old 50mm f/1.4. first shot using raw+b and Image area FX. Aperture 2.1.1 says it's an unsupported image format (i can see the jpg thumbnail, but can't do anything with the raw file). Second shot forced the camera to shoot DX. Same result, not supported.
If you have a specific way that you shot and made it work with Aperture, please give more details. But for someone who's shot for a long time, you may have remembered that every time a new raw format camera came out, it takes a while before an application such as Aperture is re-released to accept the new camera's raw files natively (or even further back the computer won't even see the camera as a device).
In the mean time, Looks like Nikon Transfer and Photoshop works.

  • Nikon D200 Support

Has anyone heard an update as to when Aperture will support the raw D200 files?
    Thanks
    Steven

I sent Nikon a note and this was their response...
    HI
Thanks for your question. As far as when other companies will support files from new companies you would have to ask those other companies. We provide the necessary tools for them to use, it is just a matter of them implementing support.
Regarding your request for a "universal" file format, Nikon is always looking at new formats and technology and when an industry standard format is available that offers the same benefits as our NEF files we will certainly study that format. THANKS
    -David
    Thanks for using Nikon products!
My suspicion, based on tea leaf reading of this note, is pretty much you have to do it the way Nikon wants or else...and that may generate problems for Aperture. Notice also the rather passive nature of "when an industry standard format is available.... " heck as a major player, Nikon should be leading the charge rather than sitting back and waiting for a standard to appear.
I also guess that Nikon does not want me to buy the D200 any time soon.

  • Nikon d610 support

Having taken delivery of a new Nikon d610 I am getting the "unsupported image format" message with my raw files(jpeg's are fine), since the d610 does not yet feature in the supported camera list I am presuming that is the reason. How long before Apple release an update to address this issue?

We're all just users like yourself so no one here would know. Apple doesn't announce it's plans in advance so all you can do is wait and see. At least most models from the major manufacturers were added relatively quickly.
The d600 has been supported for a while and from what I read the d610 is just a minor upgrade to the d600 so that might indicate  a quick inclusion.
