Nikon D800 video into a Macbook Pro

How can I recoord live video from a Nikon D800 or D600 into my Macbook Pro. I have Firewire 800 and Thunderbolt.

I just did some research and found two things for still capture through the USB port, but I didn't find if they actually work for video capture.
Nikon's Camera Control Pro 2, It's $180 US, but they have a trial download;

I also found a donation application Sofortbild, but again I don't see if it will capture video. (I actually find this to be better than Apple's Image Capture for stills.)

I'd say your sister messed up and your iPod is toasted.
Think about it... She plugged it in to another computer, she doesn't remember what she did (yeah, right), and now your iPod is not being recognized by your computer...
Also take into consideration how old is your sister, and how much does she know about electronics?

Inputting audio/video into my macbook pro? with Apple DVI to Video Adapter?

I work with video, and am trying to save my minidv cam's life. is there a more direct way to input directly from a vcr/television into my macbook pro? because right now i'm having to input from my vcr/television into my minidv then into my macbook through firewire.

I thought that cables and adapters worked the same going either direction. I believed that the only concern was the male or female end points on them. Not sure anymore though

This means that the backups were made with a later version than the version currently on the phone. You will have to update the phone to 6.1.3 to be able to restore the backup. You can restore a backup made with an earlier version, but not with a later version.

Importing video on a MacBook Pro

Well, this is my first attempt to import video to my MacBook Pro and it's not going well. First off, no firewire port. Oops. Now what? iDVD says that no camera is attached. Of course it probably wouldn't recognize it going into the USB port, but now what do I do?
I have a 1TB external drive that takes firewire. Any way I can daisychain the two and import directly to the external drive?

Will not work. To my knowledge, dual converting like that isn't supported. The Mac must detect the connected video output device and that sort of info cannot be done across an analog component uni-directional connection.

With or without an Apple TV you can't send video to one device and audio to another using AirPlay.

Try:
- Resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Resetting network settings: Setting>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

2 thunderbolt displays worked fine daisy chained, moved one to work in other room, now only one will work. both work independantly or both plugged into my macbook pro.

I have 2 thunderbolt displays and have had them daisy chained for months where I only would plug one into my macbook pro 15" retina and both displays have worked great. The other day I moved one of them into the conference room, connected also a HDMI cord to a projector to do some work with staff on software design.
I brought my thunderbolt back into my office and plugged it back into the other thunderbolt dispay, then plugged the other display back into my macbook and started it up and now I can only get one to work daisy chained. They both work great independantly or if both of them are plugged into my macbook pro, but not daisy chained any longer.
Is there a setting I need to look at to maybe reset so that my macbook pro will use both thunderbolt displays daisy chained?

The first thing that I would recomend is resetting the PRAM on your portable.

If the issues persist, then you may need to force the device to detect displays.

Correct. All sync features are turned off and if is 'manually manage' somewhere, I have checked the box to do so. So basically everything is set for me to manage manually, yet my iPod playlists are still being deleted.

Sorry, I don't quite understand your question. Amongst other things that's exactly what the Apple TV does, is streaming video from a computer.

If i have Time Machine backed up on an external hard drive, do i just plug the drive into another macbook pro and all my stuff is in the new computer? also, does it matter if the new computer is running Lion when the backed up info came from Snow Leopard

No and Yes
Don't use TM for this purpose, clone your drive to an external, plug the external into another MBP and reboot from it. Please note that booting a machine that came with Lion may not be possible from a drive with Snow Leopard.
