Nikon Df/Back to the future?

Hey,
Having spent an entire summer weeding strawberry plants to purchase my first SLR (a Pentax ME Super), the new Nikon Df sure does take me back to the days of film. I remember how many years I drooled over the Nikon F3, and after all those years have passed I finally have an opportunity to have that F3 in a digital package; to bad I switched to Canon equipment. Maybe Canon will come out with the new F-1?
Any thoughts on this new Nikon DSLR?

  • Back to the Future III - digital copy not working

Any ideas on what to do when a digital copy fails?
Got the 25th Anniversary BluRay pack of all of the Back to the Future films. Contains a digital copy disc for each.
The first two worked fine. The digital copy for BTTF3 did not.
Has anyone else encountered this? If so, how did you remedy it?
    Thanks -
    jf

apple wanted a processor family that included versions with reasonable speed and low power consumption to use in laptops etc.
it probably didn't hurt that the choice they made also makes it easier to support traditional wintel software on macs
itanium is aimed at servers where power consumption is less of an issue
if the numbers here are correct then itanium has not been a great success, certainly not one for apple to bet the company on...

  • Back to the Future Time Machine model for Had drive enclsoure, Time Machine

This is a random thought, and I seriously want to do this, but if you are as big of a *Back to the Future* fan as I am you might take some interest in this topic. I've looked all across the internet and have yet to be able to find a *Back to the Future DeLorean external hard drive, or hard drive enclosure to accompany the Time Machine application in leopard*.
Now, I'm currently trying to find the best way possible to do this...probably going to find a model kit and build it around a hard drive enclosure. I'll have to customize the hard drive light to make the time circuits (The blue bars that illuminate before the DeLorean goes back to or from the future, but it will be worth it.
Has anyone else thought of this idea, or am I just that big of a geek? However, if anyone has seen or built such a device, please let me know cause I'd LOVE to see one in action.

Will there also be a TARDIS model? A Wells model? Even a Peabody WABAC model?
And of course what would we do without the original John Titor unit?

  • How can I get back to the future?

I have a 15" MacBook Pro running 10.6.8.  Last night I upgraded to Lion and honest to goodness I'd rather have a Windows PC.  I have only to programs for which I use a computer -- Adobe PhotoShop CS2 and Bible software, for both of which I paid near $600 -- neither of which are supported in Lion.  Is it possible to get back to 10.6.8 without loosing everything on my hard drive?  Thank you kindly.

As far as I know, Apple mail itself is not directly compatible between 10.7 and 10.6.   This gives you a couple options.  You could:
    1. Buy an external hard drive, partition it for room, install 10.6 onto it, and install Photoshop, your Bible program, and use 10.7 for everything else on your internal, and a second partition act as an exact clone of your internal.     You will probably need to contact Adobe to register your external hard drive as the registration code for its Photoshop.  Partitioning is described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61301
Cloning is described on my FAQ*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
Lastly, I'd make a second clone of the first to ensure you don't lose data in the future, and manage both clones.
    2. More complicated would be to export your applications to all 10.6 compatible formats.  Mail would have to be copied to an IMAP account.    Addressbook exported to vCard.  iTunes and Office are thankfully already compatible. Once that is all setup, you would clone your machine twice.  Next you'd erase and install 10.6.   You'd then copy your Users -> yourname -> Music folder from the backup, and the Users -> yourname -> Documents folder on your backup to your 10.6 Users -> yourname folder, and copy the supporting preferences of Photoshop, and your bible program to the relevant folders.   Lastly you'd open Photoshop and work with Adobe on reregistering your Photoshop to your 10.6 machine.   In the future always keep at least two clones of your data before installing any updates, and read the tips on upgrading like those on my FAQ*:

  • My Phone Thinks it's January 1st, 1970. How Do I Bring it Back to the Future?

I've never actually seen that movie, I'm sorry if I don't understand any references.
Okay! So, here's the run-down. I have an LG Lucid 2. I am in England right now studying abroad for the year, and I have suspended my phone service, and have only been using wifi when it's available. When I got into the UK, my phone was still on USA Central time. I have searched the phone, and the manual, and an online version of the manual, and have not been able to find a way to change the date and time manually. Now, this ordinarily wouldn't have been a problem, but then I took my SIM card out (wanted to see if the SIM cards they've been giving away here would fit in my phone if I got it unlocked from Verizon and not have to get a new phone to use here, but I did not put the other SIM card into the phone) and put it back in and started the phone up. This is when it time-traveled. It started back up at 6:00pm, January 1st, 1970. So now, a lot of my apps aren't working because they're demanding I change my date and time, but when I go to do that, the only options I have are to change the date and time /format/. I just want to get my phone onto the right time. I even tried to hard reset it, but when I held both the power button and the volume button after turning it off, it came to a screen that said something like "Downloading Screen, Do Not Unplug Device Until Finished" or something like that. If I didn't touch it, it would stay like that. If I touched the power button like the manual says to do, nothing happened. I could only get one thing to happen - which is for it to start back up again with all of my apps and media and settings. So. That didn't work. Please help. Please. I am tearing my hair out over this and after waiting an hour, staring at the livechat button, willing it to turn on, I've had no luck.

Just for asking can you post a screen shot of the Date and Time settings,  Like shown below"  press either the Lower volume and power or upper volume and power the 2 that snaps a screen shot once you've done that if ya know how to post a S.S.  post it to thread and that way it will give us a Look at your settings..
Here's a Screen shot of my Droid Maxx with the Date and Time..

  • Calender and Clock go "Back To The Future"

ok....this was weird...I synced my touch to my laptop...it runs xp....and i have the update and the new $ 20 package....
When i came back a hour later the clock was wrong and calender read Jan 12th....
When i went to the calender it thought it was last saturday....I shut if off and when the touch rebooted it was still wrong and then i synced it again and the program was corrected....EXCEPT about five mins later, all the events i added with an alarm reminder started played one after the other (all the events from last weekend)....
    Anyone heard of this?

1 - there is no way to merge iPhtoo libraries without either Aperture or the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -
2 - i suggest you take the old MB with you and on his new MB rename the iPhoto library and then transfer the old iPhoto Library to his machine - Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc)  or use an external hard drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.
3 - he can switch between them by launching iPhoto while depressing the option key and using the select library command
4 - or purchase iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  or Aperture and merge them if he wants them merged

  • Back to the Future with my PowerBook G4.

My wife and I were going to sell her old PowerBook G4, so I completely wiped the memory and reinstalled the discs it came with (around 5 years old). Now I have decided that since we had the logic board replaced 6 months ago for a few hundred dollars, and I'll need some kind of laptop for school anyway, that we're NOT going to sell it after all.
I've started trying to reinstall things, but all I'm getting are messages that say "Requires OS X 10.3 or higher."
These are programs that were just on it a few months ago, and used often (Safari, World of Warcraft, etc.). Safari has a gray question mark over the icon and can't be opened. World of Warcraft won't install. iLife '04 worked normally. Internet Explorer keeps loading pages halfway, then needing force quit.
How do I get it to where I can reinstall my applications? It currently has OSX 10.2.8, PowerPC 1G
Any help would be awesome. I've never used these forums before, so please bear with me and let me know if there's anything else I should be doing.

If you are working with Tiger on your current Powerbook, you'll never be happy going back to Jaguar. It is so retro that it feels really clunky, and nothing modern works with it!

  • "Back to the Future" I've Joined 11/30/10

Well at least I have a date now. For the longest time (6 years?) I had no date next to "registered". It's no big deal really, I sort of like being "different"
PS In case you wonder I registered in the pre-mac.com days, back in 1999? Perhaps earlier, that could explain the confusion

Do you have the winning lottery numbers for the weeks between now and 2010? Can I have one set? Or two? Ideally next weeks draw

  • Back to the futur

A few year ago , a genious at the Coca Cola company tried to reinvented the Coke era with the Coke new taste, the worst marketing move for Coca Cola in history,i feel that a few years ago the real genious  who invented the personal computer the co founder of Apple Mr. Stephen Gary Wozniak tell this the tangent you are going to move to in few years from now you will be in the same era problem as Window Microsoft we are not far from that, remember Window Vista youppi what a mess, Mr. Bill Gates have to come back to straighten the Company, perhaps Apple need to have Mr. Wozniak back to straighten the Company, for the Pro Consumer Division and let’s Steeve target the big buck, every body will be happy!
There some people try all the time to reinvented the wheel and change what it is already functioning just to be a star perhaps, i really don’t know
I am not against making money. Apple have to be a mass consumer product to make a ton of money to stay alive in business but an Apple Pro Division will be really appreciated for the one who supported you in the not to good years the people who believe in you at that time and make you people going to the new era. Let’s talk this way in the hard years, we the Pro consumer support you Apple to keep going in business now you do make a ton of Money it is your turn to support your Pro customers.

    Hi George,
yes, at first i just pulled it from the component viewer...
I also tried to call the binding by hand from and eventhandler...
Also tried to only use a evenhandler and find my way to the ApplicationModule.getTransaction().rollback() method...
However the main problem it that the processModelUpdate() keeps on processing the posted parameters... I tried to override the shouldAllowModelUpdate() method, but that seems to also cancel the whole rollback...
At the moment i've solved it by stepping over the procesModuleUpdate() when doing a rollback, using a custom eventhandler which call the getTransaction().rollback() on the application module and then issueing an executeQuery() to the ViewObject that is shown on the 'next' page.
However it seems far from perfect... Maybe i'll try to make a small testcase and find time to go through the TAR proces....
    Regards,
    Robert

  • I need to go back to the future

I have an issue that is complicated, or at least seems complicated to me.  I will try to be succint and hopefully someone can help me out.
My brother bought a new Macbook and handed me down his old one.  Before giving me the old one, he copied all of his files to an external drive.  But, it seems that he copied just the documents and not the iPhoto files because he was not able to renew his old albums etc.
The good news is that I have his old Macbook with all of the files intact including the iPhoto Library.
It seems that the next time I visit him I should just bring a copy of the Library over on my external drive and combine it with the new one he has been building over the past months.
I am anticipating some complication because I imagine that he placed the old photos--stripped of their iPhoto data--into the new iPhoto on his new Machine.  So I want to merge this old iPhoto library with the one he has now but if I do I imagine there will be some duplicates...
In other words the pictures contained in this (old) iPhoto Library are probably already in a seperate iPhoto library on the new computer.  They just wouldnt be in albums or anything..

  • Back to the Future?

http://discussions.info.apple.com/profile.jspa?userID=69214 shows a registration date of 2007! I'm not sure if there are any other users in a similar situation, this is the only one I've noticed so far.
    What gives?

Since no answer appears to be likely, and since I doubt the answer matters very much---in the cosmic scheme of things, or even at all---I'm marking it as answered simply to vanish it from my unresolved questions lists.

  • Is there a way to make a list of songs that I plan on buying in the future?

I constantly see songs that I want to buy on the iTunes store, but then end up forgetting them before I get money to buy them. Is there a way to make a list on the store so that when I come back in the future, I can just pick the songs off of that list?

Sure, pen & paper will work, but if it's in a wishlist, you just click on the arrow and don't have to type things all over again.

I have just over 100gig of music in my iTunes library plus what ever else I add in the future. Because of the amount I had to save my music library on an external drive as my laptop did not have the memory to hold it all. I want to back up my iTunes library and save it on a different external drive, one I store all my back ups on. Is this possible? If so how can I do it?

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.
