Nikon Df raw file format support

LR 5.3RC will not recognize my Nkon Df (just got yesterday) .NEF format.  Any idea how long before this will be available and I can use this comera with LR?

yes it works:
change the model name in the exif to "D4"
i used:
http://www.heise.de/download/exiftool.html
and
http://www.heise.de/download/exiftool-gui.html
unzip the files
copy the exiftool to the same directory as the exiftool-gui
you can change multiple files at once ;-)
then import to lightroom

  • Nikon D200 Raw files not supported?

    Hi,
Recently purchased the D200 and discovered that the
Raw files are not supported. Just wondering if it is
Aperture or the 10.4.4 that is causing the problems.
Anyone else facing the same problems?
    Thanks
    In very simple terms...
In order to add support for various camera RAW files, Apple has to ask the camera manufactures to supply proprietary information about how to process and read the RAW files. Each and every single camera has a different "proprietary process" it must use to handle the RAW file that the camera produces.
So that means that Apple is at the mercy of the manufacturers in order to get that information. Now most manufactures would prefer that you purchase or use their own software to work on the RAW files that their camera produces... it's an extra revenue stream for them. Because of this, it's not hard to imagine that they are a bit reluctant to divulge what is proprietary information that they spent time and money on creating. It's well documented that Nikon in particular is very reluctant about releasing such information.
If Adobe has support for a particular camera that Apple does not, then that means that Adobe has already gone through the trouble of asking the manufacture for the information that is needed, reached an agreement and signed the appropriate licensing contracts, exchanged whatever compensation was agreed upon, and then went to work making the software for ACR so it can read that particular cameras RAW files. As you can imagine, it's a process that takes some time to hammer out... more than likely because it involves more lawyers than engineers!
So... be sure you let Apple know that you would like them to add support for a particular camera, but just as important, make sure that your cameras manufacturer knows that you would like them to allow Apple to support their cameras with Apple's software.

  • Does Photoshop elements 13 support Nikon D750 raw files

I have PhotoshopElements 11, which I am gradually getting to grips with. Recently I purchased the Nikon D750and found to my dismay that PhotoshopElemants 11 does not suppost the NEF files and in order to process my images had to convert these  files to dng. format using the 8.7 dng converter. Somewhat vexing since this is a departure from my usual processing method. (with my Nikon D7100 I could open the Raw Files in the ARC contained within PSE 11. I don't know whether there is an update for PSE11 which I need to down load (can't find one ) which will enable me to return to my hitherto practice or I need to purchase PSE13. Clearly I need to establish whether PSE13 supports Nikon D750 Raw Files.
    Please help!!!!!

Why not get PSE13 now from this link and test it for free for 30 days. Validate with your 24 digit serial number when you buy from your favourite retailer. No uninstalling or re-installing is required - click here for PSE downloads

  • When can we expect Elements to support Nikon D750 raw files

When can we expect Elements to support Nikon D750 raw files?   What are my options in the interim.  I noted that some had used a program, EXIFChanger, to edit their D750 raw files,  with a name change,  to Nikon D5300 raw files.  Unfortunately that program runs on a MAC platform only and I have Windows computers.

See that discussion in the Adobe Camera Raw forum:

  • Does Photoshop CS6 support Nikon D810 raw files?

Does Photoshop CS6 support Nikon D810 raw files? Photoshop won't allow me to open the raw files and Bridge won't display the files either. I tried to download the camera raw plug-in 8.6 but read somewhere that Photoshop CS6 doesn't support it? HELP!!!

It should. The D810 had support since version 8.6. (A relative newcomer.) Did you use Help > Updates on the menu bar?
Take note that the updates for Camera Raw in CS6 only supports updates for cameras and nothing more. You won't get any of the new features inherent in the versions for Photoshop CC (like the filter brush in the Graduated Filter).

  • Does Bridge support Nikon P7000 raw files in CS5?

I have Photoshop CS5 with the latest ACR installed. ACR opens the Nikon P7000 NWR raw files just fine, but Bridge doesn;'t seem to recognize them. I have the latest version of Bridge installed as well. I did an update in Bridge and it said it was the latest version, so I believe it. Does the latest Bridge support Nikon P7000 raw files?

If you tried to browse the P7000 files before updating Camera Raw you may need to purge the cache for that folder. In Bridge select Tool, Cache, Purge Cache for "xxxx" folder. (xxxx being the folder you are trying to browse).

  • Aperture suddenly displaying "unsupported format" for Nikon D300s RAW files

I am using Aperture 3.1.3 on my iMac 24 with Snow Leopard 10.6.8.   A couple of days ago I applied an update for Aperture RAW files that was in my update list, even though I don't use any of the cameras involved.
After that update Aperture gives me an "unsupported format" error on all my Nikon D300s RAW files. Every RAW file in the library.  I have never had a problem with this at any time over the last 2+ years of using Aperture.
I have tried using time machine and rolling Aperture back to the end of July (my most recent backup) along with rolling back the RAW file plist. I then did a repair permissions, and reimported the photos after this.  I have rebooted numerous times.  All to no avail.  I have not yet tried a library rebuild that would be next if I must.
I use a Referenced library, so I was able to check out individual RAW files with Adobe Camera RAW.   They open fine so there is no file corruption issue.
Any thoughts on what might be happening?  Any other file(s) associated with RAW conversion that I might need to roll back?   I do not see any mention of a problem like this when searching the web or the forum (although I may have missed something by not searching the correct terms).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The raw camera bundle is  /System/Library/CoreServices/RawCamera.bundle
Go to /System/Library/CoreServices with the Finder, locate the the RawCamera.bundle package, select it and then do a File->Get Info on the package. You should have version 3.8.0, that is the latest and the one that you should have downloaded last week. If it is not 3.8.0 stop here and post back what version you do have, something isn't right.
Assuming you have 3.8.0  use the Finder to navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices and then delete the RawCamera.bundle package. The Finder will ask you to authorize the delete.
Then go to Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.7 download and install it. That will put you back to the last CameraRaw update before this one.
See if that fixes your problem.
As always when messing around with system files it is possible to mess things up so make sure you have a good backup before proceeding, And if any of these instructions make you nervous you might want to hold off doing them.
    good luck

  • Does CS6 or Elements 11 camera raw plug-in support the panasonic raw file format rw2

Hi- I am thinking of upgrading to either one of these products as my current versions do not appear to support the panasonic raw file format rw2 but would like to know if the latest versions do support this format before I buy.

Note that CP's correct answer implies the fact that each individual camera model must be supported by ACR.  You can't go just by the format alone.  "RW2" alone is meaningless.  Bear this in mind when you move to a newer camera.  Check the ACR compatibility list first:

  • Does Elements 10 support the Nikon D3200 RAW Files?

Does Elements 10 support the Nikon D3200 RAW Files?

Not yet. You need to wait for the next update. It's already been added to CS6 and Lightroom 4; so it should follow soon.
If you can't wait and convert from NEF to DNG you can use PSE10 but always keep your originals as back-up and incase you need to use Nikon software.

  • Are Nikon V1 RAW files supported in PSE9?

How do I download Nikon V1 RAW files with Elements 9?
Message title was edited by: Brett N

You would either need to get Elements 11 in a few weeks when it’ll presumably be available, or use the Adobe DNG Converter to convert your raw files to DNGs that’ll open in older versions of the Camera Raw plug-in.
The DNG Converter is usually a companion install for the latest Camera Raw update on http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates although the Camera Raw 7.1 isn’t going to work with PSE9 so just install DNGC 7.1.
You could also get PSE10 and update the ACR 6.7 but with the next version of Elements normally being released in the fall, it might be a waste if you will feel bad when Elements 11 comes out, assuming it will.

  • IPhoto compatibility with Nikon Compressed RAW files?

    Hi,
Has anyone tried using iPhoto with the compressed RAW files generated by a Nikon D300s? Are they supported?
The 300s can create types of RAW files: 12- vs 14-bit and uncompressed vs lossless compressed. Which of these 4 types is/are supported by iPhoto?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi,
I looked into it a bit further, and apparently Apple does not support ANY TYPE of RAW file from the D300s! This is the camera that Nikon (who is not exactly a minor player in the digital camera market) describes as their "flagship" DSLR!
(Even more frustratingly, the D300s has the same sensor and image processor as the currently-supported D300, so the RAW file formats should be very similar and Apple shouldn't have to do too much work to add D300s support!)
On the other hand, Photoshop already supports it:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html
EDIT: yes I know I should "submit feedback"... already done...
