Nikor 28 to 105 not listed in lens correction Light Room 5 cc

I watched a tutorial in Utube. Author said he had never tried to use a lens correction and found the lens not in the list.
My first try, and I can not find Nikon Nikor 28 to 105 MM 1:3:5 4.5 D.

That is not a practically empty xinitrc - that file only needs one line: exec WM.  Other things are entirely optional, and some of them very useful, but I'd encourage you to stick with the simplest xinitrc that will do what you require.
Is slim involved?  Probably.  That is the source of many problems.  But to start narrowing this down, I have 3 suggestions:
1) temporarily (at least) change your inittab to default to runlevel 3 ... actually, is it currently set to 5 or 3? if it is currently 3 that would explain why slim doesn't start.
2) at a tty in runlevel 3 use "xinit" instead of "startx".  Startx is fine most of the time, but it is essentially just a complex wrapper for xinit.  That complexity can often iadd useful functionality, but it *always* makes troubleshooting more difficult.  So for now just use a vanilla 'xinit'.
3) remove dbus-launch from your exec line in xinitrc.  This is done by console-kit so it is redundant and potentially problematic.  Further BOTH of these are taken care of by slim, so I'd even suggest getting both a jump start on being ready for slim and simplifying troubleshooting by removing both of them.  Just make that line "exec openbox-session"
Edit: adding one more:
4) temporarily switch out openbox-session for openbox.  I suspect the reason feh's setting of the background is getting overridden is due to a script or setting in openbox's autostart settings - many of these are only invoked when "openbox-session" is called, while "openbox" starts *just* the window manager itself.

  • Lens (Tamron 18-270) not available in Lens correction menu

    Hi all,
I only see some lenses to pick from in the lens correction menu. According to a list on the Adobe website, my lens (Tamron 18-270) should be included, but it is not.
I am using Lightroom 5 on a Win PC and a Sony Alpha 58 camera. Photos made as RAW.
Any idea where I can find or activate the lens?
Could it be, that the Sony camera does not write the lens information in the EXIF file so that Lightroom doesn`t know which lens I used? But if so, why can I pick several from different companies (Canon, ...) but not the one from Tamron?
    Best regards,
    Mick

There are 5 18-270 Tamron lenses listed if you set the Make to Tamron and scroll up in the list to the top using the arrow at the top left of the list.
There is only one Tamron lens listed, not an 18-270, if you have a non-raw file selected.
Here is what I see at the top of the Tamron list and I just chose one of the 5 arbitrarily.  I have no idea which of them is right, if any, for your Sony:

  • Canon 5D Mark III profile not found in Lens correction filter in PhotoShop CS6

I'm unable to find a profile for my Canon 5D Mark III within the PS CS6 lens correction filter.  In fact, Canon isn't even available as a camera make option within the Search Criteria box, nor are any canon lenses.  When I click the Search Online button, the prompt reads "No online profiles found".  Thankfully, I have no problem within Lightroom 4 (the Mark III and lenses are recognized)-- however, I'd really like to be able to use the new Adaptive Wide Angle Lens filter within CS6, which needs the camera's EXIF data to function correctly.  I'm using a new iMac OS X.7
Thanks in advance for any help that you may have to offer.

So that makes me wonder if Lightroom keeps its own Lens Correction folder and if so,perhaps you can copy its Canon folder to Photoshop CS6's lens correction folder.
If you still cannot find it,you can create your own custom profile or download it if it's already been posted.
This article should direct you to the profiler and downloader software. You will need to install Adobe Air to use the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader.

  • Lens Lists in Lens Correction Lightroom 5 in Mac

I have a long list of lenses in Lightroom 5 on my PC but with the Mac there is  very limited list for Nikon. None of my lenses appear in this on MacSame version. Can I download an updated list into the menu?

    Hi Butch07179198,
You could try removing the Preferences File/s. Look here for instructions: http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lightroom-41.html
If that does not help, try removing the .lrdata file from your catalog folder and rebuild previews.
    Hope that Helps!

  • My tracks are not listed in order

my tracks are not listed in the correct order in the library and on my ipod they r playing out of order.

I really don't mean to dodge your question and take this thread in another direction, but I still would like to point out, in case you might not have realized, that iTunes now has gapless playback. That said, it really caps the usefulness of the Join CD Tracks feature. I understand that there may still be good reasons for using this, like if you have an older iPod that doesn't support gapless playback or a non-Apple portable player, etc. Still, I think it's worth mentioning that in the future, as your equipment changes and you can take advantage of proper gapless playback, you may find it annoying that you can't unjoin the tracks in a precise manner.
Join CD Tracks Command Is Dimmed
    Joining CD Tracks
Adding songs from CDs to your library
Interestingly, the iTunes 7.x-related documentation says nothing about having to select contiguous tracks in order to use the Join CD Tracks command. I don't use this feature anymore since iTunes and iPod have gapless playback, but if I find that the old rules still apply, I will submit a request to update the newer KB articles.

  • LR3 Lens corrections not transferred to external editor

When I use the new Lens Correction panel in LR3, then transfer the image to PS (CS4) for further editing using the Edit In command, the Lens Corrections are not transferred, although everything else is.
    Details:
The original image is a .dng file.
It is transferred to PS as a 16bit TIFF.
If I EXPORT the image as a 16bit TIFF file, the file image DOES contain the Lens Corrections - it is only when I use the 'Edit In Adobe CS4' command that the problem occurs.
I currently have v5.7 of Camera Raw installed in PS, which doesn't support the Lens Corrections - I don't use it, and so haven't bothered to download the latest version, but surely LR is doing all the processing itself, and won't be using the PS version of Camera Raw?
    Any thoughts from anyone?
    Cheers
    Steve

I understand where you're coming from Steve, but it's always been the same.  They don't make the ACR plug-in backwards compatible for older PS  versions, as the continued development is one of the things upgraders are paying for.  If they spend resources on backwards compatibility, it's not really fair on those who are paying for the upgrades, and could limit the improvements in the new releases.
LR3 works great on its own, and will render a file itself with all of the settings applied, but that does mean you have a file on your hard drive.  If you want direct PS integration, it's the PS license fee that pays for that.  That said, they did update and bring out 5.7, which they wouldn't usually have done, so if you're not using the lens corrections, opening directly into CS4 will be an almost perfect match, apart from some minor minor tweaks.

  • Automatic Lens Correction in the Camera Raw Correction Panel not showing

I have just migrated my CS5 to another computer. However to my surprise II could not see automatic Lens Correction option in my Lens Correction Panel of Camera Raw as in then past. All i got was option for Chromatic Aberration etc.
How do I get the software to switch to Automatic Lens Correction in the Camera Raw Correction Panel?
    Thanks.

I hope it's just as simple as this:  Did you click on the little Profile tab?

  • Where IS the Lens Correction panel???

On my machine (Mac G5, 2gig, LR1 does not display any "Lens Correction" panel in the develop module. Any help, anyone?

  • Photoshop CS6 No lens profiles (lens correction filter) for Canon 6D raw files

LightRoom and Camera Raw have profiles for Lens Correction and all the current available lens are  in the list for the Canon 6D raw files. BUT the Filter/Lens Correction when in Photoshop CS6 only have 2 Tamron lens listed. Odd that there are lens profiles for the Canon 6D raw files  in Lightroom and Camera RAW but not CS6 Filter/Lens Correction.
Camera RAW, LR and PS are up to date..... NOTE: I have a Canon 7D, G11 and 1D Mark II N and all their files work as expected. It's only RAW files created by the Canon 6D.
    Any suggestions.

To the right of where it says Search Criteria, click the little three-bars-arrow icon and uncheck Match Sensor Size and it should find more.

  • Erratic behaviour of Manual Lens Correction in Develop Module

    64 bit Windows 7
Sometimes - not always - using the manual lens correction, with Constrain Crop activated, leads to the image jumping around very quickly and erractically and it being impossible to achieve fine control using the mouse: tiny movements of the slider by dragging with the mouse result in large jerky movements of the image.  I have only used this for correcting converging verticals and cannot comment on the other adjustments.
Moreover, on a subsequent crop when this has happened, it may be impossible to crop as you would like using the crop tool - the top edge of the image jumps above the intended crop outline.  The only way to get the crop you want when this happens is to adjust each edge individually, rather than by dragging the corner.
Apologies if I have not explained this well.  In short, it seems to be a bug whereby proper mouse control of the lens correction is lost.  I often correct converging verticals in buildings and have never seem the same behaviour in version 3.  I cannot always replicate it in version 4, but it happens a lot.
Hope this feedback helps.  I cannot see that it has been reported elsewhere in this forum.

Hmmm, this is going to be tricky.  I just tried to replicate it on two photos on which I know I had the problem, by going back to the original import setting, but both behaved fine this time!  Both, as it happens, were portait format, having been rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise from the original.  I cannot recall, I am afraid, whether or not other ones with which I had an issue had been rotated first.  I will try to replicate and keep more detailed notes.  In at least these two instances, I had not applied a lens correction profile first.  The vertical transformation slider would be set to somewhere between -25 to -35.
Having played about with this for a while now without full replication, I have one idea which may or may not be correct.  When I reset the Develop settings and started on the Lens Corrections first, absolutely nothing untoward happened.  Now I have gone back and done a number of other adjustments first (as I would often do, before correcting the perspective).  In this case, the vertical adjustment slider seems more sensitive to small mouse movements - definitely discernible, but not nearly as bad as the examples I have seen previously when I was not looking for them, nor is there yet any sign of the cropping problem.  Maybe the effect becomes more pronounced as the number of edits accumulates before applying the manual Lens Corrections.  If this is correct, I do not know whther the effect is cumulative across all edits to all images (as if memory is not being released - but that should not be a problem, since I have 12GB of RAM and nothing else running) or whether it is a per image phenomenon, since I have only recently re-opened Lightroom.  You will know better than I whether this is a possiblity, but it is just a thought as I play with this without so far being able fully to replicate the issue.  I have some work to do on a number of images and if I get time, I will come back to these images to see if the problem manifests itself more clearly after a larger number of edits across multiple images in a single session without closing Lightroom.
I am very sorry this is so vague and quite speculative.  I hope I will be able to give you more accurate feedback later.

  • Lens correction profile for new Sigma 12-24 mark II

    Hi
Sigma 12-24mm f4.5-f5.6 II has been out for a while. But i can not find a lens correction for it in lightroom. Does anyone know if there is such a profile ??

Adobe does not announce release dates for new profiles. However, you can except that the next minor release upgrade after the release of the lens will bring the profile to LR.

  • Lens Corrections panel missing

My copy of LR 5.3  appears to not have the Lens Correction panel.  At least I can not find it anywhere.  There are 7 panels showing --
    1.Basic
    2.Tone Curve
    3.HSL
    4.Split toning
    5.Detail
    6.Effects
    7.Camera Calibration
Lens Correction does not appear under any of the above panels.  How do I find it?

Right click on one of the other headers and a dialog box will pop up and you can select the Lens correction panel. It probably got deselected by accident.

Yeah, they disappear when you type in ALL CAPS.  Kidding aside.

  • Lenses not listed in the Lens Optimizer in Digital Photo Professional

As the topic title states my lenses are not listed in the Digital Lens Optimizer. I've placed the CD in the tray, and yet the program says it's connecting to the server, and when done, they are not found in the list. The lenses are:
    EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II
    EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II
Why are they not listed? How do I get them?
     DPP version 3.13.0.1
    EOS 70D / EOS Rebel t4i / EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS II / EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS II / Sigma 17-50 f2.8/ Canon EF-S 60mm f2.8 macro/ Canon EF 100mm f2.8 macro/ Tamron 70-300mm / 430EX II Speedlite / Canon FS 300
Canon Pixma MG 3100 / Canon LiDE 2100
Adobe Lightroom 4, Canon DPP, Corel Paintshop Pro X4

Of the lenses I have, the following are not supported by DPP 4 (However, they are supported "in camera" with EOS Utility 3)
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II USM
    Canon EF 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
    Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
    Canon EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6 USM
Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
    Canon EF 75-300mm f4.5-5.6 USM
I don't care if they are "old" lenses or not. Why have the correction profiles for "in camera" correction (when saving/converting to JPG) and not in DPP 4? They have the data, they could just port it over from the database used in EOS Utility 3.
These lens correction profiles bring new life to some of the old "film" lenses like the Canon EF 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens. That lens has lots of distortion. However with in camera correction, it now produces good pictures.
I am not a professional photographer. I am a photography enthuisasts. I'll NEVER spend $1,000.00 or more for an "L" series lens (in fact I sold the Canon 24-105 f/4 L "kit lens that came with my EOS 5D. It was way too heavy, and the zoom on the low end was cramped (only 4mm movement between 24mm and 28mm). I like/use my Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM and Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM better.
Maybe my mistake is that I am using a program call Digital Photo Professional and I am not a professional. I noticed that that software leans heavily and supports the "L" series lenses.
