Nintendo 3DS connects to N Network despite it bein...

I don't know but I kind of want an explanation here. So my BT Home Hub 3 is set to "N 40Mhz" The hub did tell me that devices which are b/g will not connect to an N network, however my 3DS does and it only supports B/G. Other people on the internet say that their 3DS does not work with other routers which are only N. Does anyone have an explanation?
EDIT: So with the HH4 there is this 5GHZ band option. I am seeing if any of my devices support it. Most of my devices support N but I am not sure on 5ghz. I have searched on the internet for 5ghz compatibilty but I can't find anything. So if anyone could be helpful could they find out?

No easy way of checking if its 5GHz compatable best way is to google the card but it normally comes down to price. An expensive card will be dual 5 and 2.4GHz most cards are 2.4 GHz only. You wont find anything with just the name you have given. You will need to find the model number and for that you are probably going to have to pull the card out of the machine. Here is a list of the broadcom parts for wifi. If you can find out the controller chip version and check against this list.

Buying a bundle doesn't mean that your device will work aborad you need to make sure roaming is enabled on your account.
turning on roaming on the device does not give you roaming when abroad.
If you have a EE extra plan you still need to make sure roaming is enable on your account your plan only gives you free/cheaper calls when abroad.
If your wanting to enable roaming on your account there could be a deposit to pay if you haven't had the device for about 6 months.
Unless you have paid the deposit then roaming is not enabled on your account.
You need to activate roaming on your account by calling 150 from your device or from a landline 01707 315000 before you leave the UK.
But you can still do this if you are abroad.
If you have had the device/contract for 6 months or over you can login to your online account and turn on roaming yourself
Manage this device>Usage controls>Roaming abroad - Allow and Call abroad and turn it on. If the option is not there you need to call
It can take 24 hours to activate
If you had this device/contract for under 6 months you need to call customer services on +44 7953 966250 from a landline.

Cannot connect to 4G network after update to OS 10.3.1

Have a Q10 through Sprint and after updating to OS 10.3.1 from the Blackberry site, phone will now only connect to 3G network despite availablity of 4G network. Phone used to connect to 4G network with OS 10.2,

Nintendo 3DS not connecting during online games to Macbook Pro or Airport Express Network. Please Help.

I would love to post this question to the Nintendo Support forums, but I'm abroad right now and it seems I am denied from the forums if I try to log in.
My Nintendo 3DS's internet features all work perfectly fine except when it comes down to directly playing a match with other users. For example, Mario Kart 7 will download Spot pass data like normal every day, but everytime I tray to play a match online, the software gives me an error. Same thing when I try to connect with people on Animal Crossing: New Leaf. My previous linksys router back in the states worked fine. The security was WEP I remember. Now I've got myself an Airport express and neither it nor my Macbook Pro (when sharing is turned on) will permit me direct online access to other users like I stated above. I even disabled security and went with an open network for a few minutes and was faced with the same exact problem.
I know this is very specific and mainly involves a none apple product, but I'm just curious what is different about the Apple wireless networks I'm setting up that is preventing me from nothing but direct realtime interactions with other users.
Any advice or knowledge about Apple security or wireless networks would really help me out. There are only so many settings I can tweak in the Airport Express so I'm sure it can't be too difficult, but I don't even know where to start.

I guess it's a problem with NAT (Network Address Translation). My ISP is Vectant Ltd. so maybe I should get a hold of them. If anyone has any work arounds that maybe they used with other game consoles (Xbox Live, PSN), I could really use the suggestion. I really like the Airport express and assumed it would be compatible, but I guess not.

Can connect to guest network, not main network.

I have a Time Capsule setup that works great. I have several Macs that run fine on the network. I have one older Power PC that will connect to the Time Capsule's guest network but not the main network despite having the correct password. Every time I try it says "connection failed." Ideas?

This information tells you that the Power Mac is not capable of connecting to a network using WPA2 Personal encryption.
Since we've drifted far away from a potential Time Capsule issue at this point, your best option will be to post in one of the Power Mac forums to see if there might be a way to upgrade the operating system to a level where it would support WPA2 Personal encryption.

I think HP has used default network printer hostnames in the format: npi + last 6 digits of the device's MAC address (e.g. "ca53cf").

Apple TV 1st Gen can no longer connect to wireless networks

My Apple TV (1st Gen) has recently lost the ability to connect to either of our wireless networks at home. I rean the diagnostics at the reset screen and the Apple TV says it is performing normally. In the settings, whenever I attempt to connect to a wireless network, I am now only offered "Other..." as a choice. Proceeding to the next screen, I enter the name of the network closest to the Apple TV -- an Airport Extreme set up for 5 GHz that this Apple TV connected with daily up until 2 days ago. The Airport base station is perfoming normally, as my MacBook Pro can see it and establish a network connection without any difficulty. The issue is limited to the Apple TV. I did a Factory Restore, and now when I go to Wireless Network > "Other..." > Enter the name of the wireless network" the resuit is always the same, and error message stating: "There was a problem connecting to the network. Check your settings and try again. (-4)".
This message comes up almost immediately, without requesting a WiFi password -- suggesting to me that this Apple TV has lost the ability to connect to ANY wireless network due to a hardware failure.
Q: Has anyone else in the Support Community had a similar experience with their 1st Gen Apple TV, and if so, did you find a solution to it?
Note: When I first noticed the connction to this Apple TV had gone stale (greyed out in the iTunes Airplay Speakers list), and prior to doing the Factory Restore, I could play back iTunes content stored on the hard drive, but could not connect to the local wireless networks. I noticed that the Apple TV was running very hot -- it has alwasy run pretty hot to the touch.
If this Apple TV has died, I will get a 3rd Gen Apple TV, but wiill then have to work through the HDMI to Composite video + Audio issues, as this Apple TV is connected to our older (non-HDMI) TV.

Follow-up: Able to connect with ethernet cable, downloaded software updates, connected to iTunes, and synchec content.
Next, disconnected the ethernet cable. ATV1 froze and was restarted using the Menu + ( - ) combo on the remote. Re-ran diagnostics yeilds: Apple TV is working fine.
Restarted, then went to configure the Wirelss settings. Apple TV once again does not show either of the two wireless networks. Selecting "Other..." and entering the SSID yields the same immediate response:
"There was a problem connecting to the network. Check your settings and try again. (-4)"
No change on the wireless front :-( Bummer.
Looks like an ethernet connection is the only option left to continue using this Apple TV 1st Gen.

I don't have another phone to try. I took out the sim to check for deffects but it looked fine. Cleaned the sim card with alcohol and cleaned the aim compartment. You are making some progress with setup of wireless network. Apparently there is reliability problem with the wireless connection. Perhaps you want to refer to following Apple support documents and start tweaking parameters in the router to improve the reliability. I used to have third-party routers such as Belkin and Netgear but switched to Apple Airport routers (Time Capsule then Airport Extreme for now) because of incompatibility issues whenever Apple upgrade Mac OS X. But since Apple develops Airplay protocol as alternative to Bluetooth for wireless audio/video streaming (with much better bandwidth) and must be deployed in any wireless network, there is no reason third-party routers not working for Airplay protocol.

I keep getting kicked off and getting a ! in my airport. Last time it happended I called apple and the suggested I wipe my HD and reinstall everything. I did and it did not work. One day I turned my laptop on and it connected no problem. Now it has kicked me off again. I tried resetting my IP address but that does not work either! Has anyone had this problem?

Try this:
Apple menu / System Preferences / Network.
Click Location: and select Edit Locations..
Click + (plus sign), and enter a name for the new location - anything will do.
Apply this.
