Nintendo New 3DS XL has a speck of dust or some sort of blemish on the screen

I just bought the New 3DS on Saturday and after only using it a couple times, I've noticed there's a blemish on the main screen.  It's a little dot, doesn't seem to be a dead or stuck pixel, almost like it's a piece of dust under the screen.  I've tryied using a soft cloth to clean it, but it stays on there; it feels completely smooth too, which is what led me to believe it was something under the screen.  Now that I know it's there though, it's all I can see when looking at the screen.
Will I have any issues returning this?  I'm anxious to get it taken care of, but I can't make it back to Best Buy until Sunday.

Having an imperfection on your Nintendo New 3DS XL would be quite obnoxious! I noticed a dead pixel on my cell phone shortly after purchase, and was quite distracted by it until the issue was resolved for me. I can completely relate to the frustration you may be experiencing, and I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. 
If you purchased this Nintendo New 3DS XL on Saturday, you should be well within the Return & Exchange Promise and I would encourage you to bring it back to the store to see what options we may have for you.     Im sorry to hear that. You need to restore like brad said.
    But you can restore from a latest backup from itunes after restore. I hope you had a recent backup made.

    This morning apple had a msg that asked if I wanted to upgrade to the new ios 6.1 (?).  I said yes.  Now I can't use my phone.  I've tried hitting the power and other buttons.  I get a white apple on the screen. can't reset phone - doesn't work. what can I do besides take phone into Apple?  This *****!  I realize (now from reading internet) that my phone/system may be uncompatible.  Help!

    I have a 3GS (a true classic design!) and have upgraded it to 6.1 today.  The process did not go without a glitch - it took a few attempts to get the app's to sync but after detecting the ones causing an issue and deleting them it works - so far!  I have had issues about 50% of the numerous times a new OS is uploaded to this phone and always take the new OS with trepidation.  But at least you know there is a 3GS with 6.1 working OK.
    I suggest you do a fresh restart to the phone several times - without it being connected to the computer - to see if it gets its act together and starts.  I think it will.  Hold down the top 'power' button and front round control button until it shuts down - goes blank and dead.  Then press the top power button to re-activate - reboot - it.
    If that does not work then plug into your itunes computer, navigate in iTunes to see your iPhone and hopefully you will be able to sync it or at least 'restore iPhone' from the 'summary' tab.
    If you can not get onto the iphone perhaps you will still be able to sync if in iTunes by going - 'file' - 'devices' - 'sync iphone' or failing that try transfer purchases' and ultimately 'restore from back-up'.
    I had technical problems with my old 3GS (suffered a failed wireless antenna) so I took it to an Apple Store and they issued me with a service-replacement/reconditioned phone for a very modest charge.  So if worst come to the worst get a new phone that way!

    I dropped my iphone 4 pretty hard, it cracked (although it already had a few cracks in it) and now the screen is black but sometimes has a background light turn on and then off. Holding the home button and off button at the same time do not work. When I plug it in to charge or to the computer it vibrates every 10 seconds and itunes does not seem to recognize it. It gets really really hot when plugged in (which I don't think is normal).  icloud does not recognize it under "find my iphone" either. What could the problem be? I am wondering if dropping it dislodged something inside. if so, what did I dislodge and is it possible to fix this myself?

    Sounds like that drop was a critical one, my friend. I would make an appointment at your nearest Apple Retail Store, because you're going to need a replacement. Also as a side note: the reason that the charger is making the phone vibrate over and over is because there is a disconnect somewhere in the charge port of the phone, causing it to plug in and out over and over.

    Congratulations on your new iPhone 5s!  Try the steps below if you cannot accept the Terms & Conditions.
    First, I recommend restarting your phone and then resetting if it's still not working:
    Restarting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
    Resetting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Ost 5 hours and has just a battery symbol with a little red column on the screen when I press the on/off button. I don't know why its taking so long to charge. Any suggestions?

    Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.

    In the Yahoo weather sidebar, next to the location name, there appears to be an icon like an inverted teal teardrop.  Click the teardrop and you should get a popup that will allow you to set your zip code (there may be two or three choices they come up with) and when entering, say, 95350, you would see Modesto in a list.  Click the plus icon and your default should change to Modesto.
    Or you could pack up and move to Richardson, but that would be kind of extreme.
    BTW, Sham Field is showing 74° right now.

  • New Macbook Pro has changed identities

    Not sure exactly which device has caused the problem - we have two iphone 4S, two iPads, and an iMac - one of which has led my new Macbook Pro to think it belongs to my wife.  Though I did not enter her name when registering the computer, when I install new software, her name always comes up as the default name in the registration box.  I assume that either something cloud related has done this - since none of her devices have been physically plugged into the new Macbook Pro - or, less likely, that our home network is somehow involved.  Just need help determining which device is the most likely culprit, and maybe some help keeping our clouds separate?

    The cloud was my first thought.  Since posting initially, I've noticed that a couple of programs downloaded on the iMac have shown up in downloads on the MacBook.  I just need to be able to build some sort of firewall between the two machines.  New enough to Mac that I'm not even clear where cloud settings are, and how to make adjustments to them.

    If the reset doesn't do it then it's possible that the backlight or another part of your screen has broken. Unfortunately it's not really user servicible. I'd make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out. If your device is still under warranty and they don't determine that the damage was the result of 'abuse or neglect' (their words) then it could be a free replacement.
    I'd just do a backup before you take it in, just in case.

  • What is Wrong With the Screen on My New X1CT?

    Guys, what the hell is wrong with the screen on my new (an hour ago) X1CT?  Its like there is a matte cover over the screen.  I read about the screendoor and I don't think this is that.  Its like the colors are all off, white is grey and grey is white.  There are weird lines and shimmering on the screen.  
    It seems to be okay on the W8 start page but there is no white there, just the metro tiles.  I have checked all settings and there is nothing I can do with any settings.
    In the pic below see how the whites and greys are even reversed on the same webpage?  
    I just took it out of the box and started to set it up.  I'm not sure what is going on but it certainly is not right.  I doubgt i can use it like this.

    They are sending out a tech with a new screen and cable on Monday am.  If that doesn't fix it then its going back.  I've decided that its somthing physical as the screen just cannot make white.  The google homepage is grey not white.  There is banding and artifacts all over and even screen memory when I close windows and such.  There is no way its supposed to be like this.
