Fatal Error! Required NIPathsDir property NIPRODUCTCACHEDIR is undefined
How can i solve this problem.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
This problem can occur when a part of your Windows regestry is corrupted. Below I give you a link that deals about this issue (part B of the Knowledge Base deals about the regestry part). Maybe you can try this out to see if it fixes your problem. The link:

Hope this helps.

  • LV 8.0 Installation For Distribution Error: Required NIPathsDir property MOZILLADIR undefined

I have built an application LV 8.0 and I am not trying to prepare a distribution package.
I have created a LabView Project (.lvproj) and I have created an Application in Build Specifications.  That works just fine.  I can generate a proper .exe with associated files.
I have then created an Installer in Build Specifications.  This appears to work, and it generates installation files.
However, when I try to run my new Install, I get the following error:
Fatal Error!! Required NIPathsDir property MOZILLADIR is undefined
There is nothing on my machine (or the other machine on which I tried this) referencing MOZILLA or anything to do with MOZILLA.
NOTE: I have previously created Applications and Installers in the Build Specifications for other LabView Projects with no problems at all.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Same problem with LabVIEW 8.5.1 and Win'XP SP3.

  • Fatal Error !! Required NiPathsDir property METAUNINSTALLERDIR is undefined.

Put a new hard drive in a computer and am installing labview 8.5.1 again. I get the error - Fatal Error !! Required NiPathsDir property METAUNINSTALLERDIR is undefined. I found one page of instructions on fixing this and it did not help. Any help would be appreciated. thanks..

I have looked at this (it is printed and on my desk right now). The drive has not changed (D drive). The hard disk drive hasn't changed. We do have a network drive but I am trying to install it now with it not hooked up to the network. I have gone into the registry and it all looks like the computer sitting next to it that has labview installed on it.

  • Installation Problem : Fatal Error!!Required NIPathsDir Property LV80DIR is unspecified

    Hi,
I have problem installing Lab View Student Edition 8.0 on my laptop running on Windows XP Pro (with service pack 2).
    It says:
Fatal Error!!Required NIPathsDir Property LV80DIR is unspecified.
I seem to be able to install on my desktop running the same operating system, but i really need it on my laptop.
    Help?
    Thanks.

    Hi cambridgeguy,
I have heard of similar problems which resulted from a corruption in the operating system (not good news unfortunately).  A good debugging step would be to try installing something else to see if the trouble is constant through all MSI installers.  Perhaps you could try installing our DAQ drivers and see if you get a similar error.

  • Mindstorm NXT 2.0 on Windows 7, Fatal Error!! Required NIPathsDir property NIMDFMANIFESTDIR is undefined.

I'm getting this error when trying to install LEGOS Minstorm NXT 2.0 on Windows 7 on my home computer: Fatal Error!! Required NIPathsDir property NIMDFMANIFESTDIR is undefined.
It requires admin privileges, so I log on as admin.  I've tried changing the Compatibility to Window XP Service Pack 2 or 3 and also chaning the Compatibility to use admini privileges.
I've found from solutions to similar errors posted on this website that it might be a problem with it not being able to find the My Documents folder.
There is a My Documents folder under the Admin user, but the target location is Documents, not My Documents.  It won't let me change the target location to My Documents.  I try copying the directory and changing the name by it won't let me.
I've tried part of a solution posted here:
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=460&message.id=1000&query.id=7360616#M1000
I did everything except for the part about "You will need to make another package to add a My Documents folder to the local service user so that would be located in "C:\Documents and Settings\Local Service\My Documents"." because I didn't know how to do that.  Plus, I think I would still run into the problem that the target location is not "My Documents", but I suppose I could just enter the target location as "Documents" if I knew how to specify it when I "make another package".

You really need to go to Legos for support. The only support here is with using LabVIEW with NXT.

hiii ,I am trying to install multisim and ultiboard student edition in windows 7 .During installation an error pops out and says fatal error!! Required NIPathsDir property CDS110DIR is undefined. Please suggest me a solution.
    Regards,
    Techguru

    Hi techguru,
When installing Multisim and Ultiboard, you need to be logged in as an Administrator. The issue here seems to be that the installer does not seem to have access to the folder and this can be because of not being logged in as admin. Try to log in as admin and try to install. If there is a firewall in place which could be causing this, you should disable it during installation.

  • Fatal Error!! Required NIPathsDir property NIDIR is undefined.

I receive this message while trying to install the signal express sw.  When I get this message the installation is aborted.  My scope is also not recognized by my pc device manager.   I do not have labview installed on my pc, do I need it?

    Steve29,
I apologize that you are having trouble installing SignalExpress. Is this with the SignalExpress 2.0 installation CD?  If so, can you run the installer using the following in a command prompt :
    <PATH TO CD>\setup.exe /log c:\temp\SEinstallerlog.txt
This will create a logfile from the installer in your "C:\temp\" folder with the name "SEinstallerlog.txt".   Send that installer log to me at [email protected]  I'll look at it to see what happened and get back to you with a way to correct it.  This error should never be displayed in a released software product and I would like the logfile so I can see why it happened and correct it.
    Thank you,
    Eric Reffett

  • Build installer with NI-RFSA

Trying to build a LabVIEW 8.0.1 installer with
NI-RFSA 2.0.7 as one of the "additional installers".  The installer builds fine, but when I run
the installer, I get "Fatal Error!! Required NIPathsDir property
LV85DIR is undefined" and the installer exits.
    What,
exactly, needs to be included in an RFSA installer (e.g., the
documentation for NI-RFSA says it includes DAQmx, NI-SCOPE and MAX
already).  Do I also need to include the LV 8.5 runtime engine?

Figured it out.  Some additional digging led to the use of the "setup.exe /log logfile.txt" command, which can be run from the command line (shell).  This generates a log file which I used to find my problem.
    See attached image.
In the Shortcuts section of my installer, I specified a subdirectory with the forward slash (/) instead of the normal windows backward slash (\).
NI: Please please please add this to your KB article on this problem.  Also please please please consider flagging this error in the installer builder.  There are many illegal characters for Windows that are well documented.  I know this builder is probably cross-platform, but we know what the target platform is here!

  • Error in running installer

A installer is created successfully. After running it in another PC, an error shows
"Fatal Error!! Required NIPathsDir property MOZILLADIR is undefined. "
    Any comments?
    Thanks,

This is an installer for a VI you created? Do you make any calls in the VI to files / programs / directories? The paths to any of these may differ on the other PC.
Any more specific information would be helpful.
