NM 5.5 Win 7 Ultimate RC Build 7100 x64 support

I heard that the Wireless Connection Manager would NOT be part of the 64-bit versions of NM 5.5.  I have been running the 32-bit NM 5.1, and now 5.5 without issue on my desktop and love it.  I backed up everything before installing the RC but no way am I going back to Vista, ever.  The boot/shutdown times alone are worth it and I the only compatibility issues I've had so far have been with the driver for my Logitech laser keyboard & mouse (MX3000), but I just click run program anyway and everything still functions fine.  I do miss having my Norton 360 3.0 Premier, had some issues there so I loathingly had to put McAfee's Win 7 beta but it works fine so guess I'll wait til Symantec gets Norton dressed for the prom.  Getting back to NM though, I'm about to drop $2500+ on a blazing laptop/desktop replacement (18.4", 8GB RAM, Blu-Ray (read AND write), HDMI, Q9000 2.0 Ghz Quad-Core 64-bit) that comes with Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  The first thing I'm doing is kicking Vista to the curb and putting in the 64-bit RC, then NM 5.5, I was just wondering why would I lose the Wireless Connection Manager, one of the most helpful aspects of NM?  Is something replacing it or do I just view (and connect to if necessary) other wireless networks using Win 7 (which is actually pretty easy but...)?  Just seems like the WCM played a big part in the overall functionality of the product, but oh well, as long as it works as smoothly as the 32 bit version, it should be pretty interesting having a desktop with 32-bit Win 7, a laptop with 64-bit Win 7 and a 32-bit laptop with XP Pro SP3, all running NM 5.5.x connected to Linksys WRT310 and Kodak ESP9.  If anyone can answer about the WCM not being available though on 64-bit machines, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

  • T410 Windows 7 Upgrade - from Win 7 Pro 32 to Win 7 Ultimate 64.

I purchased a T410 with Win 7 Pro 32 and am looking for the option to upgrade it to Win 7 Ultimate 64.
The shop in the country (Singapore) do not provide such option/customization.
Called tech support in the country without getting much info (they said they only support hardware).
Tried Lenovo shop in the country and they will only help to upgrade to Pro 64 with a charge, however without any recovery media (OS and drivers).  I need Ultimate 64.
Browsed Lenovo site and couldn't find anything relevant.
Hope someone will give me the direction to upgrade from Win 7 Pro 32 to Win 7 Ultimate 64 (with all drivers).

    Dear Yannick Plavonil,
That discussion was started by me only on dell community and it was not resolved.
However if I upgrade can I revert back to Win 7, if something does not resolve or some of the devices
connected to the motherboard do not work?

  • T500 - unable to install Win 7 Ultimate

I purchased a T500 (8GB, 600GB, 2.4) online in January.  I like it very much.  It came with Win 7 Ultimate installed. I suspect the O/S was a "90 day trial version". Recently I have been getting pop-ups that said "Your version of Windows is not valid".  As a result, I validated and purchased a new Win 7 Ultimate version.  It came with a new activation key, and a few days later - DVD media.
I attempted to install 64 bit, and after several hours received "This version of Windows could not be installed".
I installed the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, and the report shows - "More info from LENOVO - visit the LENOVO website".
How do I accomplish installing Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) on the T500?  Thank you for your assistance.  jimk2240

I have a few guesses why. I would use Windows Easy Transfer which saves all your non-program files. A clean custom install though really is better. I did both (three actually) and plan to redo one of them.
Show invisible files/folder like AppData and in WET be sure to click on
Custom and Advanced and then make sure to check what you need, but also uncheck any location you don't want.
Windows 7 wants a 100MB recovery partition. It may be trying to use an EFI (FAT) partitiion, or have trouble with Apple's scheme.
I assume and hope Vista is on its own hard drive. But others have been able to do what you want with MacBook and iMac.
If you didn't remove Mac OS boot drive, try that, I always had to when installing Vista on separate drives.

  • RWD  for noevalley, com worked on DW 2014, Win 7 ultimate (IE

Any one else have this problem?
RWD OK in Adobe 2014, ok in Safari, ok in Win 7 Ultimate (IE and FF), ok on Desk Top (IE and FF).
Bad in Tablet and phone in FF and IE in 8.1
Isolated problem by commenting out and problem was one banner not resizing (the banner does resize in Win 7 IE and FF).
I will ask the banner owner but this will not be a priority for him.
    Thanks

    Hi Nancy O
I have NO intention of doing anything with the boilerplate.css.  I read the "phone first" post on RWD and fully trust the, don't touch commenhts from that developer (and everyone else)
Just odd that it worked in DW CC 2014, Win 7 (FF and IE) and iMac Mustang (S) and failed in Win 8.1 (FF and IE) for tablet and phone while working in desktop (simulation) and began to function everywhere when the img was pulled.
I was  going to say THWI but thats not fair.  You guys have helped me.
    I took the comment off.
    www.noevalley.com
Fine in Winn 7 and the iMac and DW live.
I am focused on the banner and thats not mine.  I do not have a problem dropping it from the page.  I will comment it out about 6 pm Pacific time.
If you just want a copy of the graphic, it is at /graphics/weiner.jpg

  • P55A G55 Problem starting Win 7 Ultimate

    Hi,
with my new PC (I7 860, 8 GB Kingston, Samsung HDD Eco Green, ATI HD 5600) I have serious problems starting Win 7 Ultimate:
After Turn Off Windows and starting the PC with powerswitch it runs the bios boot (by the way: RAM is set to auto, HD to AHCI) and tries to start windows. You can see for a part of a second the black screen with the coloered bubbles and then suddenly the screen flashes blue (same blue like the win-bluescreen) and pc starts to reboot again.
At that time I reach the windows-screen with the boot-options: repair or start normal.
Switching to normal the same thing I described above happens with endpoint repair or normal start.
I can play this game a lot of times ...
But if I turn off the pc at that windows boot-option screen with the power switch and then turn on the power again I reach the boot option screen and can then start windows when selecting the normal start menuentry. I can reproduce this behaviour everytimne I start the pc.
To use the repair function won't work (tried it very often).
When I use Standyby from windows or reboot everything works fine!
    Anyone can help me please?
    Regards Gerd

  • Thoughts on Win 7 Ultimate Install for House Party (around 10/10 or so)

    Hi everyone,
I am hosting a House Party for some friends and will get Win 7 Ultimate shipped to me on about 10/10/2009 --- I have a T61, 4GB RAM, Intel Core2Duo CPU T7300 @ 2 GHz --- I have a backup of my files and email, so I want to wipe the hard drive COMPLETELY --- If anyone has some suggestions for my best course of action, I would appreciate it...
    Some considerations....
    1) I'll have the retail version of Win7 Ultimate about 10 days earlier than the official release but Lenovo won't have official drivers for Win 7 until 10/22/2009 ---
    2) I really love how Lenovo has the recovery option and would pay to have that for my Win 7 install -- but, I don't know if that will be available or not --- any thoughts on whether we can purchase that after Win 7 is released?
    3) I don't mind wiping out the recovery/backup drive --- just need to know how to do it
    4) I have bookmarked the beta Win 7 driver page and can copy files to a flashdrive ---
So, any thoughts from the experts here on how best to wipe my current system, install the Win 7 Ultimate and the beta drives, etc., from Lenovo that are available on or about 10/10/2009 would be REALLY APPRECIATED ---
    Thanks!

Nice to know that you are hosting a Launch party!.I am hosting one too
If you want to completely  wipe your HDD you can use secure data disposal from lenovo.download it from here

    t43,
I don't remember what chipset was in the T60p, but I am sure they are all the same and will not address more than 3GB of memory even though the processor fully supports the 64-bit instruction set.  I don't believe that there are any programs out there that can tell you what particular chipset is installed in a system but use can use the link below to find a number of motherboard enumeration programs.  I tried the HWINFO32 program and it is quite good.
    http://www.stevenscomputerrepair.com/Motherboard%20Chipset.htm
To summarize, yes, on 3 GB systems, you are better with x86 than x64.
Note that since I wrote my original post, I purchased a new T500 with 3.06 GHz processors and 4GB memory. I am now running x64 and I must say that the system is much faster than x86. Photoshop (or Photopig as I call it) loads in 1-2 seconds. Can't wait for the price of the 4 GB DIMMs to go down so I can go to 8 GB memory!

  • PSP [Playstation portable] not recognized by Windows 7 RC Build 7100

    Hello all,
I have a PSP [Series 1003]. Firmware : 6.10 [latest] . My PC's OS : Windows 7 64Bit RC Build 7100. Ever since i installed Win7 in my PC [new PC] , it was not able to recognize my PSP.
In the PSP it shows "Please Wait" when in USB mode. The USB ports of my PC are fine, because all other devices work properly [printer,joystick,Pen-Drive,external HDD -these are all what i've already used] .
Sometimes it shows it is properly connected, but when i go inisde the mem stick [from My Computer] it shows that the card is empty [I have songs, games, videos, other PSP folders etc in the mem card]. Otherwise it shows that the driver is not available etc.. PSP usually does not need a special driver as it act as a mass storage device.
It works properly in my laptop , OS : Windows XP Home Edition SP3. I have not tried connecting my PSP to any other win7 computers since i dont have any other.
    Please help me with this.
    Thank You
    kamalesh

    Hello again to all,
Sorry that i didn't reply for a long time. I've been away.
My problem with PSP have been solved, surprisingly the solution was
"Tried connecting the PSP to a port behind my tower instead of the ports in the front panel".
I tried this because i read something similar in some other forum . I don't understand how or why it worked.
Also how and why it did not work. I dont think my USB ports have any problem because all other devices work
    properly.
    Thanks for all your help.

  • Windows 7 Build 7100 (release candidate): Boot Camp drivers not compatible?

I had a go at installing Windows 7 Build 7100 on my MacBook (aluminium) via Boot Camp. Windows 7 installed fine, but the Boot Camp drivers of the chipset and DVD drive don't seem to work.
I'll have a look at Intel's website for the chipset driver, but what's really annoying me is that I can't eject my optical discs.
Anyone else tried 7100 yet? I had none of the above problems in build 7000.

Tried 7077. A word or two of caution, these (Apple Boot Camp) is known to cause problems and was blocked.
Programs and drivers/installers that worked previously aren't, but that is the purpose of an RC.
Also, Apple iTunes has used GEAR drivers which have also disabled optical drives in the past and may do so again.

Everything works well except Apple TimeServices when you change OS; OSSwitcher (control panel "Boot Camp" to change the default boot OS). Otherwise 7077 has run smooth, fewer problems than Vista (including SP1 and SP2(RC), and definitely much much better than build 7000.

  • Help! Need advice on how to upgrade to Windows 7 from Windows 7 Evaluation Copy: Build 7100

I am on an HP Pavillion Media Center m8200m PC.  The computer came with Vista on it and did not come with any Vista operating system installation discs when I bought it.  I did make a set of two system recovery discs from this original Vista operating system,  About 3 months ago, I decided to put on an evaluation copy of Windows 7 (Build 7100).  In order to do this, I had to remove Vista completely from my computer and then install the the Windows 7 evaluation download from Microsoft.  It has worked fine since, but will expire shortly.  I now want to put on a permanent installation of Windows 7, but am unsure how to do this.  Can someone please explain the procedure to me.  I have read that I cannot upgrade to anything directly from the Windows 7 evaluation copy.  Do I need to recover the computer and install Vista from the recovery discs  (providing I can reinstall Vista from these recovery discs), then upgrade to a permanent version of Windows 7 (from a less expensive Windows 7 upgrade).  Or, will I have to buy a full version of Windows 7 and start from scratch?  Also, is there a way to retain all my data on this computer during this new installation of Windows 7, or will I lose averything including programs, data, etc. and have to reinstall it once I have the new permanent operating system on the computer?
I'm usually pretty good with this stuff, but can't seem to get a straight answer.  I want to do this as soon as possible, so would greatly appreciate a straight, clear explanation of what to do.  I would truly appreciate it.

It is possible to upgrade the evaluation version to the RTM version with some fiddling as shown here.  It would be better to do a clean install.
