NMAS Launch Failed

Hello NG
Sorry I posted this question also in the
novell.support.modular-authentication-services forum. I think this place is
the better place to post this question
In Our environment we have the following OS and components installed
Netware 6.5 SP4
Edir 8.7.3.7
Border Manager 3.8 SP4
Nmas.nlm 2.60.18
Proxy.nlm 5.00.14
When Proxy is startet through startbrd, on the console the following error
is displayed.
Proxy-5.0-107
NMAS Launch Failed, Proxy Authentication Services down
When I unload the proxy.nlm the error message is not more present.
I checked the timesync and it seam to be ok. I reinstalled nmas only the
server installation from the BM3.8 CD but this didn't also solve the problem
How can I solve this problem? Some ideas?
Ramon Lustrati

Hello Craig
Thank you for the TID. It was helpful. IN our LPO we had a CIFS Policy that
caused the problem. Now the problem is solved.

  • "NMAS Launch Failed" proxy error after patching server

Just applied NW65 sp2 server patch and the Border Manager 3.8 field patch
3c and now the server constantly beeps with the error message:
NMAS LAUNCH FAILED - PROXY AUTHENTICATION SERVICES DOWN
I have seen this on other servers recently patched but it generally goes
away after a couple of minutes. In this particular case, doesn't matter
what we do - reboot server, unload and reload proxy we still get this error
message every 20 seconds or so. Very annoying. If we unload proxy, the
error goes away but then of course we don't have a proxy server. Surely
there must be some simple solution for this? Thank you.
    Don

You should post this to the BorderManager Proxy group.

    Thanks.

Hi David - tried a reply to your email but it came back as undeliverable to the reply email address.
Thanks for taking the time to try and help. I didn't find a lot on the web with regards to this product. I don't think it's a corrupt file as the same trial files installed on other systems just fine. More on that below.
I did find a support article on Adobe discussing bootstrapper failed launches but it didn't provide any specific info. Just said bootstrapper looked for certain conditions/files on the system when launching but not what conditions etc. It said to run the CS5 cleaner but it doesn't find anything on the system because CS5 hasn't even been installed. Doesn't get that far. Install/launcher fails right after running setup. The Adobe Support Advisor app doesn't find anything either when I ran it even though the error message instructs me to run it to see what is wrong. I'm running a WinXP Pro SP3 32bit system, 4gb mem, and 500gb HD, 9800GT Nvidia etc etc.
I tried installing the CS5 trial on two different systems though at a friend's place. One was a Win7 x64 and the other a WinXP 32bit Home Edition. It  lauched and installed fine on both those systems. I had another friend install this same windows trial CS5 version on his MAC even and that went fine. In all cases this is the same CS5 trial files I can't seem to initiate on my system.
I tried turning off the firewall, antivirus and any other malware app/protection running. Nothing. Tried an install in safe mode - nothing. I even ran CS3 and CS4 cleaners just to see what they turned up which was nothing. I also tried turning off all background services using the msconfig method described on the forum here.
Honestly I have no clue what to do at this point. I figure I'm going to have to do a clean install of the OS on a hard drive and try installing the trial CS5 then and see what happens.
    Thanks again for helping!

  • Launch Failed !ApolloLaunchDelegate.fileDoesNotExist! in Flash Builder when debugging AIR apps

    Hi Everyone,
I've been using flash/flex builder for years, but have never tried to create an AIR application before.  I tried to create a 'hello' world app before porting some of my stuff over by following the instructions here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/devappsflex/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118676a28bd-8000. html
but when I try to debug the code I get the a 'Launch Failed' dialog with the unhelpful comment '!ApolloLaunchDelegate.fileDoesNotExist!'.
    I'm running win7x64, SDK 4.1
I've tried all sorts of different AIR files, including the default when you just create an empty project, and converting copies of some of my existing flex projects to desktop, but they all give the same message.
Google doesn't help.  Any ideas would be gratefully recieved.
    kenneth
EDIT: just tried the same thing on my same version of flash builder on my laptop and it works... The laptop runs Vistax64.  The only other different is that when I selected SDK 4.1 in the new project dialog it said it needed AIR 2.0, whereas on this machine is said it needed AIR 1.5

    Hi Anirudh,
    Thank you for your reply.
My flash builder says that it is version 4.0 (build 272416).  When I checked for updates it said my program was up to date.
There is a copy of the *-app.xml and .swf in the bin-debug folder
There are no errors reported in the 'problems' view.
    kenneth
EDIT: just checked the version on my laptop, says version 4.0.1 (build 277662)
EDIT: I manually upgraded to version 4.0.1 and this fixed the problem.

  • ITunes Launch Failed When trying to authorize Disney Digital Copy

I recently bought two older Disney Movies Tangled and Up that used the old disc based method for authorizing a digital copy.  On both movies, after selecting the itunes option, i recieve the error below:
    iTunes Launch Failed.
Your iTunes software is either out
of date, not currently installed in your computer, or does not meet the minimum
    system requirements. Click
here to download the latest version of iTunes. If you experience problems
with the iTunes software, please contact Apple support at http://www.apple.com/support/itunes.
This seems to be related to the new iTunes version 12.1.1 since this disc based authentication worked on ver 11 and 10 for me on the same computer.  I have tried on multiple machines all running the 12.1.1 version with the same results (dont have any with the old version )
The are all running windows 7 64 bit.  I attempted to redeem using the option in itunes directly and digitalcopyplus but it states i must authenticate with the disc.

I tried extracting the DVD contents and editing the xml to remove the version number but to no avail.  I am in the right place to get an answer for this issue?

  • Launch failed with error code -2857

I've been running an app (EPSON Scan) for awhile without any significant problems. Today I check the Epson web site and they had an update for the app. So, I downloaded it, installed it, and tried to run it. Unfortunately, all I got was a couple of bounces in the Dock and nothing. I then went to the console and found the "launch failed with error code -2857" message. I've researched that as best I could and found that it is probably a problem with the application bundle. So, I opened the package, drilled down to the Mac OS folder, and double clicked on the EPSON Scan terminal command located there. Bing, a terminal window opened and the application launched and runs fine. So, the questions is, how do I resolve the CFM not finding the application correctly? I've run a pre-bind on everything but that didn't work. Seems to me like there is some config file that is not set up properly. I looked at the Info.plist file and I don't see any glaring problems. Any ideas? Epson also go a copy of this note...

First I want to say thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the support and helpful suggestions.
Second, Epson sent me an answer of sorts...they provided detailed instructions on uninstalling the application and then told me to reinstall using the disk image from their web site (in other words, don't use their web package to "update" and existing installation). I did this and things seem to be running fine now. It's unfortunate that their update instructions don't say to do this in the first place (maybe I missed it ).
So at one level this issue is solved. Unfortunately I'm too curious and wanted to know why the error happend in the first place. As a software developer myself (mainframe and midrange server based) I hate the "delete and reinstall" answer as it does nothing to really identify and solve the real problem. But I do also appreciate the idea of "just get it fixed fast" so that's what I did.
Anyway, I will now spend some time learning about Launch Services to see if I can get a more specific understanding of what happened.
    Thanks again for the help.

  • Application launch failed. Ensure that the device screen is unlocked - after the phone update

I have the following error "
Error    1    Application launch failed. Ensure that the device screen is unlocked and device is developer unlocked. For details on developer unlock, visit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=195284.         0    0
I'm pretty sure it happened after the last update. I was able to use my phone as a dev one before
and my account shows it as a registered device.
    The OS version is 7.10.8107.79.
    The steps that I tired
-Registered again my phone with the registration tool
-Check the issue with Zune auto-launcher (zune isn't syncing and the phone is connected)
    -Close and start everything again
    Other possible issues
    - Do I have to have sdk 7.1 to deploy?
    - Do I have to wait 24h for registration?

You should be using SDK 7.1 anyway, so install that.
After the update, the phone may have locked itself.  This may not be reflected in your AppHub account though.  Using the Developer Registration Tool, register the device, unregister it, then register it again.

  • Launch Failed and Problem on bin-Debug folder

I have downloaded flex_sdk_4.0.0.14159 and configure it up in Flex 3 via Windows>Preferences>Flex>Installed Flex Sdks.
The project was done in Flex Builder 3, so I have changed the settings in Project>Properties>Flex Complier>Use a specific SDK:Flex 4
The bin-debug and html-template folders are created, but the bin-debug folder does not seem to create all the necessary files. There are no .swf or .html files.
Hence, when I try launch the application, I get a Launch failed, file not found error message as follows:
    File not found: file:/C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/My%20Documents/Flex%20Builder%203/test2 /bin-debug/test2.html
    I have tried the following:
    Project->Properties->Run/Debug Settings->APP_NAME->Edit...
where Url path is correct. But still facing problem
    Project>Properties>flex compiler>use a spacific sdk and  I have select  Flex 4 there
I'm obviously missing something simple....but I cant figure out what.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

How did you fix your problem? I'm facing the same
    Thanks

  • "Catalog launch failed" using PSE 5 on Windows 7

I loaded PSE 5 on a new Windows 7 computer and was in process of transferring catalog from old computer to new one using external hard drive with backedup files. I was able to restore the files successfully to the new hard drive on the new computer (using the Restore Catagog function in the organizer). But now the Organizer will not open in PSE 5 - I get a pop-up window "Catalog launch failed".  I also reinstalled PSE 5 to see if that would help, but same behavior continued. Anyone have suggestions to help? Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried the first option - didn't work. Was planning to also upgrade to PSE 8 - so installed that and was able to convert the catalog to PSE 8 so now things are working well on PSE 8.

  • [SOLVED] Xorg launch fails due to synaptics protocol issue

    Hey gang!
So this is an issue which first appeared after a recent pacman -Syu. I had gone too long without one and so many many packages were upgraded.
I first tried rolling back the kernel but when that didn't help I resolved to get it working with the newest packages. I am on a macbook pro. I tried installing the xf86-input-mtrack-git package from the AUR but this just caused xorg errors in addition to the others. I am using the fx86-input-synaptics package from the standard repos which, as I said, worked for me in the past.
Here are some files I think are relevent:

I realize that there are a few lines commented out in xorg.conf referring to the synaptics protocol which would seem relevant to this issue. I have tried uncommenting each of them separately and together but still the problem continues.
I have searched  the wiki and forums and came up empty handed. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks for your time!

  • SCCM console launch fails , SQL connectivity issue with SCCM machine account

    Hi ,
As part of resolving the corrupt SCCM 2012 R2 environment, we have uninstalled the site from the Standalone primary site and restored it from the last backup. The database is on remote server on SQL 2012 SP1. Only Site recovery is run.
Post the restoration on unable to launch the SCCM console, Error Could not connect to the site.
When I checked the logs in the log file SmsProv.log in the program filles\Microsoft Configuration manager\logs, the error is as below

    Regards
    Leela

    Hi Grath,
We ran a Site recovery, I checked the permissions on SQL server. Could not find the SCCM machine account in the SQL logins. Adding the SCCM machine account to the SQL logins solved the issue. As part of the recovery we only recovered the Site using the Site
backup. Have not touched the SQL server which is on a remote machine??
Anyways the login issue is resolved now.
    Regards

  • Launch failed Flash Builder 4.7

I install Flash Builder 4.7 beta and I have some trouble. I'll try launch debugger, but he's stop on 57% and later shows me this message:
The Flash Builder debugger failed to connect to the running application.
    Ensure that:
              1. For in-browser applications, you are running the debugger version of Flash Player.
              2. For network debugging on a mobile device, you have a reliable network connection to the device, and port 7935 is open on your machine's firewall.
I follow instuctions, and install flash player Flash Player 11.4 content debugger and put into /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/player/mac/11.4. Also downloaded playerglobal.swc and replaced /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/sdks/4.6.0/frameworks/libs/player/11.1. In Preferences/FlashBuilder/Debug/Standalone Adobe Flash Player I choose path /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/player/mac/11.4/Flash Player Debugger.app
Also I write into -swf-version=17 and choose Use a specific version 11.4.0 but it did't help me
    Configuration:
    OS: OSX 10.8.2
    FlashBuilder: 4.7 beta
    FlashPlayer: 11.4.402.265
This problem was also in FlashBuilder 4.6.
    How to fix it?

Yes, but I forgot how I did it. Here said that you must right click on flash content and choose debugger, but in OSX debugger can't enabled.

  • Hamachi not launching, failed to connect to engine, error 1053, tried EVERYTHING

Please read before suggesting doing things I've already tried. So here's what's happening with my Hamachi, When I try to get it booted up, I get an error that says, "failed to connect to engine".So I went into services, made sure the "Allow services to interact with Desktop" option under the Logon tab in the Properties was unchecked. After that I tried to start the tunneling engine manually from there.I recieved an error 1053 message, "the service did respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" After reading this I checked the registry, under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/LogMeIn Hamachi and made sure the EngineConfigDir folder was there, and had to add it in as it was missing.  After having done all of this I tried to start Hamachi once again, and kept getting the same errors all over again.  What do I do??? I'm seriously desperate to get this up and running, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what is wrong.

The run solution was the only one that worked for me! :) If it does this again I might just try to un-install and install again. Catasstrophy wrote:
you can fix this problem easily:1.hold the windows button and press the "r" key or go to start menu and type "run" and launch "Run"2.type in the run window "services.msc" and press enter3.scroll to "LogMeIn Hamatchi Tunneling Engine" and click it4.press "start the service"5.launch LogMeIn

  • Flash builder 4.5 launch failed

I have a project I built using most of the code from the employee directory tutorial and when i made the changes to run it using DAO and the sqllite database it does not launch and sends me a lauch failed error
    Process terminated unexpectedly
    initial content not found
Any help to get this so I can atleast run it and debug it would be great

On a related note that might be the cause of some people's problem:
I just had a similar problem (how/why I found this post) and I was getting a similar error.  The problem started when I deleted the .swf from the bin-release folder.  I kept getting:
    Process terminated unexpectedly.
    initial content not found
    Launch command details:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6\sdks\4.6.0\bin\adl.exe" -runtime "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6\sdks\4.6.0\runtimes\air\win" C:\wamp\www\Imaginus.org\projects\xxx\xxx\xxx-app.xml C:\wamp\www\Imaginus.org\projects\xxx\xxx
(xxx is/was the name of my project)
I fixed the problem when I was looking at the properties and under "Properties>Builders" there is a checkbox for "Missing Builder (com.powerflasher.fdt.core.FlashBuilder)" that I'm guessing was added when I installed FDT PowerFlasher to play with a few days ago.  I unchecked the box and approved the "This is an advanced operation..." warning.  The compiler reconfigured itself and I tried to launch again.  This time FB DID rebuild the .swf and launched as expected.
Thought I'd add this comment just in case other people find this thread and just happen to have the same problem.
    =)
    Todd
