NMH410 Firmware Upgrading Error

Hello everyone,
I recently upgraded the HDDs on my NMH410 and basically it resets everything and even roles back the firmware.
But this time around I couldn't manage make it upgrade. Everytime I receive this error message:
"Error - Result"
Firmware Upgrade has encountered an error. Upgrade Aborted!
There is a thread on this forum suggesting to change the DNS Server but it didn't work for me either.
What to do? Anyone having or had similar issues? Is it something from the Cisco's side?
Is there a way to sideload the firmware or force to install it by directly accessing the hub?

Here's an article that might help you: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&docid=ec5f31fe7f0f4a8c9a89a...

  • Help..I updated my iphone4 to iOS to 7.1.1 from 6.1.3 at last stage of firmware upgrading throwing an error 16 and stuck in recovery mode.

    HIAll
I waited so long not to update of my iphone4 to 7.x.x because of bugs and not much stable for iPhone4 and many reviews from friends saying phone is very slow and many bugs but after release of iOS 7.1.1 of many improvements for iphone4. I tried to update my iphone4 to 7.1.1 through iTunes at last stage of firmware upgrading its showing an error occurred error (16). I checked in internet error16 is purely hardware issue before my phone is very good condition in iOS6.1.3 no problem with my phone, But after upgrading to how it will be hardware issues. why Apple engineers are not testing properly their software’s before releasing great updates to customers now my phone is out of warranty and I can’t use it anymore just showing iTunes symbol and charger on the screen while on/off showing apple logo. From the past September there is no proper solution for error 16. Don’t know  what these people are doing about that error why apple is crashing customer phones by releasing useless update to phones what is the point of buying such a expensive phones don't know what to do with this phone. Tried many possible ways
Tried: presing home+power button at 95% of  firmware update
              Disconnected battery and restored
              used DrPhone to restart
tried to restore old version 7.x.x
              no luck.
              used new original cables
              restored with Macbook
tried to restore in 3 Different computers and so many times but  no luck

Hi, to get your iPhone  4 back to normal, here're two ways for you.
    1.  Use Dr.Fone for iOS. The free trial version can fix iPhone screen of death. The free trial version can do that, you don't have to pay.
Just download and install this software on your computer and connect your iPhone 4 to computer with a USB cable. When it detects your iPhone 4 is abnormal, click Restart the device to get your iPhone 4 to be normal.
    2. Use iTunes to fix it.
Step 1. Make sure that the latest iTunes is installed on your computer.
Step 2. Plug into a USB cable to connect your iPhone4 to computer.
Step 3. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time for about 10s.
Step 4. 10 seconds later, release the sleep/wake button. But continue to hold the home button until a message comes out, saying "iTunes has discovered an iPhone 4 in recovery mode, you must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes".
Step 5. Click your iPhone 4 in the left sidebar to show the device control panel on the right. Then, click Summary.
Step 6. Go to Backups section and click Restore Backup.... In the drop-down list, choose a backup file and restore to your iPhone 4

    Downloaded the latest firmware -- v2.392 (5MB file - name WRV54G_R2_39_2_02082006)
In the router - I go to the Administration / Config Mgmt page - and tried to load the firmware upgrade and I get a blank browser screen with the following error message
    '413 Request Entity Too Large'
    'The length is too large'
Has someone also found this? Is there a simple fix?

Hi… I think there was some error while downloading this file. Try downloading it again. Reset this router for 1 min and try to upgrade the firmware again. Let me know if you can upgrade it.

  • Firmware upgrade crippled cp1025nw

LaserJet CP1025nw color: was working flawlessly
received email from HP 4/3/2012, recommending firmware upgrade to v 20120130.
ran upgrade 4/3/2012 from iMac, OS10.6.8.
    got error: 'update failed'
print queue says 'printing', cp1025nw doesn't respond.
printer lights:  orange triangle enclosed exclamation mark plus green semicircle
This means: fatal error, per the user manual.
manual instructs to turn off, unplug, plug-in, turn on.  I did this several times.
printer lights still indicate: fatal error.

  • Firmware upgrade?? Printing Issues?? HP Designjet Z6100ps

I have a Designjet purchase as a demo in 1/2008. The last firmware upgrade that is currently installed is GG-GG_9.0.0.4. I am having printing issues where it prints about 4" of my prints from Apogee Printdrive (which comes from a windows computer) and then wants a restart with the firmware error code. Prints from the MAC are fine and will go straight thru. I have tried multiple firmware upgrades (the latest is GG-GG_11_00_00-2_mvl40-x86-opt_B.dmg) and it is all invalid. After a week of trial and error and trying different upgrades from different computers I am at my whits end. We print to the this printer presslayouts to look at before plating for press. Printing Banners from the MAC is no problem. Anyone have any suggestions. And of course, warranty and service is nill.

I am linking you to the the Designjet forums below. Please just repost your question their it will have better chance of getting answered.

  • Firmware upgrade encountered an issue

Right now my Galaxy S3 is sitting at a screen that states "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.  Please use Software Repair Assistant & try again."  Whenever I power on my phone, I get that message.  I've tried to do an Emergency Recovery in both Kies and Kies 3, but neither are able to recover, and the only way, it seems, to get the SRA is to plug my phone into my PC and get it from Autorun.  Since my phone is not leaving the error screen, I don't get the auto run option to install the SRA.  Is there any way to download it manually to get my phone running, or is it pretty much bricked and I'll have to look at replacement options?

I found a solution on the XDA forums site, but thanks anyway.  Looks like I just needed to run the Software Repair Assistant, which I'm a little surprised that the Verizon store I went to didn't have it on hand to attempt to fix my phone.  I got my device repaired, and it's working great.  Just really wish my Wiimotes worked in Android 4.3.

  • Firmware upgrade stuck

My router says there is still a firmware upgrade in progress. I have flashed and reflashed (using UI and tftp util) multiple times, and this will not go away.
This is all on top of erratic behavior, dropping the connection, periods of no connectivity, periods of degraded performance, etc.
I've tried a factory reset, and holding the button in for 30 seconds. Nothing will get this perpetual firmware upgrade to go away.

Anytime a firmware upgrade is interrupted (for whatever reason) before it completes, there is a serious risk that your router will die.  However, there is always some hope.   Please try the following:
You need to try again to reset the router to factory defaults.
To reset your router to factory defaults, use the following procedure:
    1) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
    2) Disconnect all wires from the router.
    3) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    4) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes).
    5) Power down the router.
    6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
    7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
    9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
    10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Leave the user name blank, and in the password field, enter "admin" (with no quotes). This will take you to your router setup page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen). Exit your browser.
If you get this far without problems, try the setup disk (or setup the router manually, if you prefer), and see if you can get your router setup and working.
If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead.
If you get a reply in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, then either your router is dead or the firmware is corrupt. In this case, use the Linksys tftp.exe program to try to reload your router with the latest firmware. After reloading the firmware, repeat the above procedure starting with step 1.
If you need additional help, please state your ISP, the make and model of your modem, your router's firmware version, and the results of steps 9 and 10. Also, if you get any error messages, copy them exactly and report back.
Please let me know how things turn out for you.

  • Nokia 5230 - Wish List for Next Firmware Upgrade

    heya guys,
I'm using Nokia 5230 with the latest firmware, V 12.0.089.
The following are my wish list for the next firmware upgrade:-
    1. Messaging > Sent Items: Please include short cut icons to Forward, Create New and Delete as in Inbox.
    2. Log > Recent calls: Unnecessary option for Call > Voice Call.
    3. Settings > Personal > Themes > Call image > Theme image: A bug with certain 3rd party theme (e.g. JustBlack - 5th theme). During lock mode, screen is totally blank during calls & alarms.
    4. Settings > Application mgr. > Installed apps.: Too much application will cause an error of "Application Manager Memory full"  and auto exit when selecting "Option". During error, phone memory is around 25MB, Memory Card is around 2.5GB/4GB.
    5. Ovi Map > Drive / Walk > Set Destination: Please do an icon based UI for History, Favourite, Search & From Map. The list is to small to click on to (when driving) :-)
    6. Organize > Please include multiple selections. E.g. Mark/Unmark > Mark / Mark All. Easy to move multiple applications at once to any folder.
That's all for now i guess. By the way, Nokia rocks!!
    Thanks in advanced.

Please integrate swype for messaging in the next firmware of 5230. Also kinetic scrolling for messages and contacts. If possible the homescreen of symbian^3.

  • ZEN TOUCH 20GB - Stuck in Recovery Mode, during Firmware upgrade. HEL

    Ooooh dear.
Me and my Zen Touch are completely stuck. Decided to upgrade the Zen's Software and Firmware and am now in deep trouble. Here are the steps I took.
First I sensibly backed up the 2000 songs on the player to my computer. Then I updated the MediaSource software and restarted the computer. Then I decided to go for the big change and downloaded the new PlayForSure firmware installation and that's where the problem starts - It never completed the installation, which I had to manually stop. I knew as part of puting this new Firmware onto the player, the Zen would be wiped clean, which it has. However, I now cannot get it out of recovery mode and it will not respond to attempts to download the new (or any) Firmware onto it.
    What I now get is:
-Plug the Zen in, the computer recognises that there is plug and play equipment attached and makes the appropriate noise.
-The Zen will switch itself on as a response (or I can do it manually), with a normal-looking startup. It then briefly flashes a screen saying "Firmware Problem" before going into recovery mode.
-If I choose Clean Up, it takes a few seconds to clean the now empty disk, and returns to the recovery menu
-If I choose Format All, pretty much the same as Clean Up
-If I choose Reload Firmware, it warns me that the firmware will be erased. And asks if it should reload it via USB. You say 'yes' and it briefly flashes up "Start firmware update now" before returning to the recovery mode menu.
And finally, if I select Reboot, that's exactly what it does; the computer recognises that it's turned off, makes the noise, and recognises when it's turned on again.
Trying to download the Firmware from the computer, however, has turned into a nightmare. I've tried downloading the PlayForSure firmware and old Firmware from the files on my computer (running XP, by the way). And I've also tried prompting the Zen starting up the Media Source software, BUT they all claim that the player is NOT connected! Even though it is! The Zen switches on and Windows makes a sound every time I connect or disconnect it!
So what to do? I'm stuck in this vicious circle and no matter what random tricks I try, I can't get out. The player needs Firmware, but the software on the computer claims the player's not connected.
The player is now more than a year old, so I can't return it, and Creative's less-than-generous telephone support is not an option, so I'm left to any imaginati've and kind-hearted subscribers to this list to offer suggestions.

  • N80 firmware upgrades (how?)

    Hello,
There has been some discussion here about the N80 firmware. My N80 is orange and suffers from a few issues. Firstly the web browser is pretty much useless for me, out of memory errors on almost every page. Relatively frequent out of memory errors in Gallery whilst attempting to play a video taken with the camera. Snakes is not playable it crashes out as soon as you actually try to start the game.
I'm wondering how firmware upgrades are peformed with a network like orange? I presume Nokia service centres wouldn't do this because of the altered firmware for the network.
I'm in the UK if it makes a difference.
    Thanks,
    Richard

Yep, but it's a pain to do as you have to keep backing up on the PC every time you get a new contact.

  • X4600m2 bios/ilom firmware upgrade problem

In the X4600m2 downloads, under Software 2.3, in the firmware category, I downloaded ILOM-3_0_3_31_r42822-Sun_Fire_X4600M2.ima (md5 checks out). I can't install the new firmware however (using the ILOM cli):
    -> load -source tftp://172.22.95.215/ILOM-3_0_3_31_r42822-Sun_Fire_X4600M2.ima

the server be done prior to the upgrade procedure.
An upgrade takes about 6 minutes to complete. ILOM
will enter a special mode to load new firmware. No
other tasks can be performed in ILOM until the
firmware upgrade is complete and ILOM is reset.
Are you sure you want to load the specified file (y/n)? y
Do you want to preserve the configuration (y/n)? n
Image is not for this platform.
    Firmware image update failed.
->With all previous releases this worked fine.
Update: the upgrade on the ILOM web interface also fails.
    I'm running this version currently:

Yes.. normally onboard become automatically disabled, when dedicated card is installed.

  • Avoiding Firmware Upgrade Grief

Assuming that you have a non-UDP (User Data Preservation) phone, like the N95, a firmware upgrade can be a major thrash. Many posts in this forum attest to these problems, but they continue to occur, in part because of inadequate instructions.
Here are some thoughts that might be helpful:
    1) FIRST: Ask yourself "WHY am I doing this?" If your aren't looking for any specific fix that you KNOW the firmware upgrade will address, then at least admit that you are possibly doing it "just because it's there." For those of us who have no other Everest in sight, that might be sufficient reason. But, it is a violation of the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" maxim. I know you know.
    2) SECOND: If you are still going to do this, make the appropriate backups. Plural. In spite of the rather glib advice on the firmware upgrade screen, backups to your Memory Card are NOT/NOT equivalent to those made with Nokia PC Suite. I'll explain why in a bit. Sure, go ahead and do both, but the Nokia PC Suite backup is the (only) one that will be likely to get you out of the woods. And that, only partially.
    a. Backups to a Memory Card give you NO CONTROL over what is backed up OR restored. It's all or nothing, and sometimes what's included in "All" is just enough to trash your newly-updated phone.
    b. Backups with Nokia PC Suite allow YOU to CHOOSE both what you want to backup and restore. So, backup everything if you like, but realize that you NOT successfully restore a highly customized system in one fell swoop after a firmware upgrade. But you CAN get back the essentials (if you have made the backups). By "essentials," I mean user-created data that you could not recreate easily or at all (contacts, messages, etc.). I do NOT mean specific applications, which you should be able to reinstall separately.
    c. What about all of those Nokia Maps locations? Go to your Landmarks application, select every one you might ever want to see again, and then SEND them to another compatible Nokia phone via Infrared. Save them all on the second phone (you can reverse the process to get them back on your main phone). Wait: You are thinking about a firmware upgrade and have no comparably functional backup phone? Please reread item 1) above
    d. Did you have to do any MANUAL configuration of Packet Data Access Points? I did before I could get my N95 to work as a modem for other devices. Write those details down somewhere. You'll need them. Same for WPA encryption keys and SSIDs. Consider putting this info in the fields of one of your contacts, so you can later use cut/paste to enter your encryption keys for your APs.
    e. Make a list of every purchased application you have currently installed, even if you don't intend on using them again. Make sure you have product registration codes available. You'll need them.
Attempts to do an overly-comprehensive restore after firmware upgrade can cause serious problems such as loss of both 3G and WiFi data connectivity. That should be enough to get anyone's attention. It got mine after the fact! If you make careful, incremental backups of crucial information and are willing to be patient, you can eventually get your system back the way you want it.
    3) BACKUPS all done? Too bad Nokia provides no verification process outside of the PC Suite log, but it usually works well-enough without it.
    4) UPGRADE your firmware. Follow all of the advice and cautions but don't believe the part about a backup to your SD card being remotely adequate. It might be, but most likely only if you have very little customization and no or few third-party apps.
    5) NEXT: Get your basic settings (time, date, etc) right.
    6) THEN: Connect to PC Suite and RESTORE only your Contacts and Text Messages. Confirm that all restored.
    7) NOW: Insert your SD card and IMMEDIATELY set your own PW for the card (if you had previously removed it). If you had applications on the SD card, some might work, others won't, and you'll probably get an "Installing" message followed by an error message to the effect that the applications could not be installed. Ignore the message to try to restore them yourself from the card. Don't (usually) bother to try to remove them, either, as that often doesn't work.
    8) THEN: Recreate your WiFi connections and (if your provider-issued APs aren't right) your Packet Data APs. Make sure they work. Test by using your browser. No point trying to install products which require working data connections as part of the install process (e.g., gMail, Truphone) before confirming that such connections are available.
    9) ALMOST DONE: Start reinstalling all of your prior applications. I suggest (if you have the choice) that you put them where they were before (SD Card or internal phone memory). If there are any you want to ditch, go back and remove them after first reinstalling them. That tends to get rid of the nagging "Installing" message.
    10) FINALLY: Take it slowly, and set priorities. Put your essential apps on first, and remember that much of your customization probably took place over a period of days, weeks or months. Cumulatively, that might represent hours of tweaking. Re-tweaking will take no less time. Spread some of it out for your own sanity.
What have I forgotten? Probably plenty, and I'm sure someone else might be able to provide other, equally valid approaches, or suggestions which complement those offered above.

Very useful post. However I have to say that all those steps are necessary even if you have a FP2 phone with UDP. From my experience all that UDP does is to screw up your phone even more after a firmware upgrade. It's always better to start with a clean slate anyway
